Wadyajena, COTTCO Managers Removed From Remand

Gokwe-Nembudziya MP, Justice Mayor Wadyajena (ZANU PF), and his co-accused who were facing fraud charges among other allegations have been freed after the court granted their application for refusal of further remand.

Wadyajena, COTTCO bosses Pius Manamike, Maxmore Njanji, Chiedza Danha and Fortunate Molai were jointly appearing in court on fraud, money laundering, and concealing a transaction from a principal charges.

They were accused of embezzling funds meant for acquiring bale cables and buying trucks.

Wadyajena’s Mayor Logistics and Danha’s Pierpoint Moncroix were also being charged.

Speaking to Pindula News after the court ruling on Monday, 06 February, Wadyajena’s lawyer, Oliver Marwa, said his client is now a free man. He said:

Once an accused person is no longer in remand, that case is complete for the purposes of the records and there is no longer a fetter on the accused’s right to liberty. They can do as they please, and they can have their passport back.

They can, if they so wish, withdraw their bail recognizance or the money that they deposited for bail with the clerk of court. Essentially, they are free individuals henceforth.

This crime was so amateurish that any fool can see the evidence. It's so plain. I don't know why the magistrate wants evidence from Mars for a crime committed on earth. Assuming that the police officers failed to handle such a straight forward case, we can do away with such an incompetent lot. Where Zanu Pf is not involved, our police force has excelled highly professionally.

If I was Wadyajena, I would not celebrate. Justice will surely revisit you under the people's government. You're not free as yet. Justice has only been delayed, delaying your pain.

From the beginning, majority of the citizens knew that Honourable Mayor Wadyajena was not going to be prosecuted because he is a blue eyed boy in Gokwe Nembudziya. [ NYIKA INO IRI KUPUTSWA NE MBAVHA DZAYO ].

The law system is so predictable to even the ordinary person in the street. People can tell who is or can be arrested, and, who will be locked in and who will not.

They took millions meant for the poor farmers who were latter on paid using groceries and some are still waiting for their payments, their kids are being chased from school due to non payment of fees. These guys have been cleared without trial... Try it yourself to steal $2 and you see yourself in chikurubi in minutes

The poor farmers always vote resoundingly for their oppressors, so up until a time when people decide to wake up they are going to continue being shafted in the backside.
