Robbery cases involving guns have been on the rise in Zimbabwe in recent years.
Last year, President Emmerson Mnangagwa extended the Presidential Amnesty on Voluntary Surrender of Firearms and compliance with the police verification exercise to encourage those illegally possessing firearms to surrender.
Police said about 550 firearms were voluntarily surrendered since then, yet, crimes such as armed robberies and other forms of crimes of passion continue to be reported in Zimbabwe.
