Businessman, His Wives, Maid And Son Robbed Of US$8 500
Four robbers pounced on a Zvishavane businessman on Friday last week and went away with thousands of United States dollars and South African rands.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the robbers attacked the businessman and his wife at their home in Iyazi Park in the Midlands town and robbed them of US$6 000, ZAR2 000 as well as a pistol and cellphone.
The robbers then stole US$2 500 from the businessman’s maid, son and second wife. Police posted on Twitter:
Police in Zvishavane are investigating a robbery case that occurred on 05/11/21 at Izayi Park, Zvishavane.
Seven unidentified suspects pounced at the complainant’s homestead where they attacked a local businessman and his first wife before stealing US$6 000, ZAR2 000, a cellphone, a torch as well as a Norinco pistol with a charged magazine of seven rounds.
The suspects also stole two cellphones, a satchel with uniforms, a wristwatch, two tablets and US$2500 from the complainant’s maid, son and second wife. One of the stolen cellphones was recovered in the yard where it had been dropped by the suspects.

In an unrelated development, police are appealing for information that may assist in the investigation of a murder case that occurred at Mandindindi Village, Chiundura on Saturday around 10 PM.
A man was shot in the back while relieving himself in a bush close to his friend’s homestead where they were drinking beer.
