Wife Scalds Hubby With Cooking Oil For 'Drinking' US$5 Meant For Meat
A Goromonzi man was left nursing severe burns on his face, abdomen and private parts after his wife poured hot cooking oil on him following a domestic misunderstanding.
According to a statement by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the man was scalded with the cooking oil on Sunday after he “drank” US$5.00 that he had been given by his wife to buy meat. The statement read:
In Goromonzi, on 13/9/20 a man (23) sustained severe burns when his wife poured cooking oil on his face, abdomen and private parts.
FeedbackThe man had been given US$5.00 to buy some meat but returned home drunk, without the meat which precipitated the altercation and subsequent assault.
Police also expressed concern over murder cases involving people drinking beer in violation of the coronavirus lockdown. The ZRP said in another crime update:
The ZRP is concerned with murder cases emanating from beer-drinking binges during this COVID-19 national lock-down period.
In Tshlolotsho, a 32-year-old man stabbed his uncle (45) on 14/9/20 after a misunderstanding over music that was being played while drinking beer.
The man also stabbed another man who had intervened to stop the brawl. The uncle died on 16/9/20 whilst admitted at Mpilo Hospital while the other man is admitted in a stable condition.
In Mvurwi, at a nightclub, an unknown male adult was stabbed on the right ankle after a misunderstanding on 16/9/20 and he died on admission at Suoguru Clinic.
