ZRP To Arrest All People Leaving Their Homes Without Face Masks Starting Tomorrow
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) will arrest all people leaving their homes without wearing masks starting tomorrow, Monday 4 May 2020, Sunday News reports.
This was revealed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana during an interview with the publication. The report says:
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Mr Nick Mangwana told Sunday News that wearing face masks in public was now law, after a Statutory Instrument was gazetted by the President yesterday.

With effect from tomorrow, Monday 4 May, police will arrest anyone seen without putting on a mask in the CBD, entering shops or any public places.
In a special address to the nation on Friday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced that among other Level 2 guidelines, all people must wear face masks of any type, even home-made cloth ones, in all public spaces and when they are outside of their homes.
Under the new regulations, businesses are allowed to operate between 8 am and 3 pm and authorities will ensure that there is compliance.
