Gweru Urban MP Brian Dube Assisting People With Disabilities With Groceries To Avert Lockdown Effects
Gweru Urban and opposition MDC Legislator advocate Brian Dube has reportedly assisted over 16 families of people with disabilities with groceries including mealie-meal for them to remain afloat during the lockdown.
This was reported by Nkabazwe Community Radio Station which said that it learnt of Dube’s heroic deeds on Sunday the 19th of April. Speaking to the radio in a phone interview, Dube said:
l had to assist not because l am the MP but because l am a member of this community. This is not my task, but ours, and l am sure there are many people assisting our communities during this hard time, and these people are only making sure that the right-hand does not know what the left is doing, and l was trying to doing the same. I’m even shocked to realize that its no longer a secret.
FeedbackHe urged fellow Zimbabweans to assist those in need adding that they can approach the national Coronavirus Task Force Team set by the government.
The lockdown which runs through the 3rd of May following an extension by further 14 days has reportedly worsened living standards of the citizenry particularly marginalised groups including people with disabilities.
