ZRP Warn Against "Reckless Statements" Over Police Helmets Found At Robinson House.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police have warned political commentators and politicians against making “reckless and inaccurate statements” with regards to police helmets which were discovered at Robinson House last week.
Police national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said that the police are still investigating the matter whose consequences are still to be ascertained. Speaking to reporters in Harare on Friday, Nyathi said:
The police have established that the basement of Robinson House is a hideout for criminals who also have political inclinations. Members of the public are advised that the police are treating this case as a serious and grave incident whose ramifications are yet to be fully established.
FeedbackThe helmets and 11 motor vehicles which the police suspect were being used in criminal activities were recovered in a raid by the police who were looking for men who had allegedly assaulted a police officer in Harare Central.
It was later revealed that the helmets had been bought at an auction by one businessman, Mitchel Chibwe who intended to use them for his security company.
