The Christian Marching Church (CMC) is one of the notable African independent churches in Zimbabwe.
Formation
CMC was founded on 30 June 1956 at Harare (now Mbare), in Salisbury (now Harare) Zimbabwe.[1] It was initially made up of a group of nineteen men and women. The founding members were led by Peter Petros Katsande. The ordination of the Katsande as the first leader was carried Reverend Bates and Reverend Machingura of the African Independent Church.[1]

The Church
Since 2000, the church has been under the leadership of Bishop Tendayi Bunyani Katsande [1]
Philanthropy
The church runs Ida Wekwako Old Aged Home which is located in Marondera in the Mashonaland East Province of Zimbabwe. The home was established in 1984 and can accommodate up to 65 people.[1]
