Harare-based preacher Walter Magaya has begun constructing a 10,000-seater stadium in Kwekwe, Midlands Province, designed to meet the Confederation of African Football’s standards.
The facility, named The Heart Main Stadium, will be officially named Chahwanda Stadium after Magaya’s business associate, Shepherd Chahwanda, who is the project’s main funder. Said Magaya:

It will have all CAF requirements embedded in it. It is being constructed at the epicenter of the country in Kwekwe where it is envisaged to benefit all Premier Soccer League clubs and national teams.

Both Magaya and Chahwanda want the stadium to be completed before the start of the domestic football season early next year. Said Magaya (via <a href="https://www.herald.co.zw/magaya-builds-stadium-for-kwekwe/">The Herald</a>):

Shepherd is strong enough and well-encouraged to make this project successful.
We expect to complete this venue in January, coinciding with the ZIFA elections.
After this project, my focus will be on the Southern and Eastern regions, they deserve the same.
I also urge entrepreneurs and the corporate world to initiate similar projects, enabling domestic players to showcase their talent in better facilities.

Last year, Magaya unveiled another stadium, The Heart, a 5,000-seat facility located within the Yadah Complex in Harare’s Waterfalls. This stadium was officially commissioned by the country’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Chahwanda owns Hardrock FC in the ZIFA Midlands Division 2B and the Kwekwe based side will be playing in the ZIFA Central Region Soccer League next season.
Kwekwe once boasted a strong presence in the top-flight league, with teams like Ziscosteel, Lancashire Steel, and Kwekwe Cables competing at the highest level.
Now, former Motor Action and Chicken Inn coach Prince Matore is on the brink of leading Kwekwe United into the 2025 Premiership season.

Magaya Plans To Build Stadium In Kwekwe

Controversial Harare-based preacher Walter Magaya is open to potentially running for the presidency of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).
Magaya, who owns the Premier Soccer League (PSL) club Yadah and The Heart Stadium in Waterfalls, Harare, claimed that both former and current women’s football administrators have encouraged him to take on the leadership role at ZIFA.
On Sunday, during the inaugural Heart Women Soccer League Tournament final, former ZIFA Women Soccer League board member Cecilia Gambe urged Magaya to consider a run for the presidency.
In response, Magaya, who founded and leads Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries, said he would first consult with his family and church before making any decisions. He said:

A group of football administrators requested that I run for ZIFA presidency. I’ll discuss this with my family and church before deciding.
I’ll analyse the situation, considering what changes can be made and how I can contribute. I’ll make a decision within two weeks.

ZIFA has been without a president since November 2021, when the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) suspended the board led by then-president Felton Kamambo, along with members Philemon Machana, Bryton Malandule, Sugar Chagonda, Farai Jere, and Barbra Chikosi.
Currently, ZIFA affairs are being managed by a FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee, chaired by Lincoln Mutasa.

If he becomes president, he wants to make changes and help football in Zimbabwe.

Walter Magaya Considers ZIFA Presidential Bid

Walter Magaya, the owner of the Heart Group which owns the Heart Stadium in Waterfalls, Harare, has threatened to sue ZIFA Normalisation Committee chairperson Lincoln Mutasa.
This comes after ZIFA condemned the stadium as unfit to host international matches.
In a statement on August 5, the ZIFA Normalisation Committee claimed that during preliminary inspections, the Heart Stadium failed to produce a required Stadium Safety and Security Certificate.
The statement also alleged that the stadium lacks a media tribune, a designated area for vulnerable people, and its ablution facilities do not meet standards.
However, through his lawyer Admire Rubaya, Magaya has refuted these claims, accusing Mutasa of having an “insatiable” desire to destroy his football investments.
In a letter of demand dated August 6, the Heart Group stated that Mutasa or ZIFA had never actually inspected the stadium.
The Heart Group has demanded that Mutasa retract his statement or face a US$1 million lawsuit in damages for allegedly lying about the status of their stadium. Part of the letter reads:

Our client was shocked that you claim to have conducted preliminary inspections of the Heart Stadium regards its suitability to host Ngezi Platinum Stars and Dynamos Football Clubs’ preliminary CAF Competitions Fixtures.
It is very unprofessional for you to communicate falsehoods to the nation in the absence of a physical inspection.
Our client wants you to advise the nation as to when you requested to formally conduct the so-called preliminary inspections specifically to ascertain if our client’s stadium is suitable to host the CAF Competitions Fixtures.
Our client instructs that it never received any formal request from ZIFA regards being had to the alleged preliminary inspection.
Furthermore, it challenges you to provide the nation with that request as well as the invitation and/or confirmation from the Heart Stadium administration authorising you to visit his state-of-the-art stadium for the preliminary inspections.
If you do not produce the same, it simply means that you have misled our football-loving nation.
One wonders why you would stoop so low for purposes of claiming that you had done preliminary inspections yet none have been conducted.
It is our client’s contention that you have an insatiable appetite to destroy our client’s reputation in circumstances where your role is to administer Zimbabwean football to be world-class.

Magaya Threatens ZIFA With US$1 Million Lawsuit For Condemning The Heart Stadium

Zimbabwean preacher, Walter Magaya, is in Malawi for a two-day spiritual conference which, to attend, one has to pay K100 000.
As reported by <a href="https://www.nyasatimes.com/zimbabwes-prophet-magaya-arrives-in-malawi-for-two-day-conference-attendance-fee-is-k100-000/">Nyasa Times</a>, Magaya was welcomed on arrival in Malawi on Friday afternoon by local preacher Good News Ministries leader Patson Gondwe.
The conference is slated for the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) from July 6 to 7, 2024.
In an earlier interview with Nyasa Times, Gondwe said the conference shall take place from 6-7 July 2024, adding that participants will be required to contribute a minimum of US$50 [MK100, 000] fee to attend. He said:

He [Magaya] will be focusing on leadership teachings, and mentoring leaders to become the best at their leadership ability. He will also be mentoring us spiritually.
So men of God will be taught how to run a successful ministry. What kind of mistakes to avoid and what to focus on to manifest the grace of the Lord in our lives.

Gondwe said Magaya, whom he describes as his spiritual father, will mentor participants in areas of business, leadership, entrepreneurship, healing and deliverance. He said:

Because it is a conference, it is strictly upon registration because we need to know which delegates are coming so that we can prepare even the resource packages that are available.
So people are supposed to send us a WhatsApp message or give us a call at 0999810981 so that we can tell them more details regarding what they need to do to prepare for the big conference.
Some people are giving more than the minimum fee, but it is a minimum of $50, which in our currency is like MK100,000 for all two days.
And that does not include the one-on-one meeting with Prophet Magaya because that is part and parcel of the package.

He said those with less money can call the number and be guided on how they can participate in the conference. Said Gondwe:

We encourage them to give us a call and send us a WhatsApp message. We will ask them what they believe they can manage and then we are going to guide them on how they should not miss this conference.
Our wish is to make sure that everyone takes part in this powerful conference. But as you know, wisdom is the principal thing.
The Bible says although it is expensive, we need to gain understanding. So this is a conference where we are going to be giving out books.
We’re going to be given out resource packages which are constituting this minimum amount, but the door is not closed for people can actually reach out to us on how we can get them to be part and parcel of this powerful moment.

Magaya is the leader and the founder of Prophetic Healing Deliverance Ministries (P.H.D) and claims to be able to perform miracles.
However, he has also faced controversies, including allegations of rape and a conviction for falsely claiming to have a cure for HIV and AIDS.

Magaya In Malawi For Two-day Conference, Attendance Fee Is K100 000

Former Warriors and Highlanders goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini, says Harare-based preacher, Walter Magaya, is the right person to be the next ZIFA president when the Normalisation Committee’s tenure comes to an end.
Magaya owns the Premier Soccer League (PSL) club Yadah Stars and has constructed a stadium in Waterfalls, Harare, known as The Heart Stadium.
Kapini, who plays for Highlands Park Football Club, a lower division club in South Africa, told <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/kapini-backs-magaya-to-be-the-next-zifa-boss/">H-Metro</a> that Magaya’s move to sign Khama Billiat despite strong competition from Dynamos and Manica Diamonds shows that he can take Zimbabwean football to the next level. He said:

We can say whatever we want about Prophet Magaya but we can never take away the passion he has for football and his love for the game is there for everyone to see with all the million-dollar investments he has made.
I will be let down if Magaya doesn’t make himself available in the coming ZIFA elections because Zimbabwean football needs someone like him.
I think he is someone who might get big brands to sponsor the PSL because he showed his capacity when he signed Billiat, against all odds, we need fresh ideas in our football and I don’t think he is someone who will shut the door on the legends.

Magaya ended up building his own stadium after his efforts to renovate Gwanzura in Harare and Chibuku in Chitungwiza were frustrated.
Kapini said football authorities should engage Magaya for assistance in refurbishing the National Sports Stadium so that it meets the requirements to host international football matches. He said:

I don’t know why we are pretending as if it’s okay to play our games outside Zimbabwe. What I know is that Magaya will help to improve the stadiums and resolve the crisis which has impacted our football.
He has been running a top-flight team, he knows what the players want, which I think is the most neglected area, PSL teams need to be supported with grants.
I read several reports about Magaya being denied the chance to renovate Gwanzura and Chibuku Stadium, I mean who does that to someone who is doing the country such a lifetime favour?
If Magaya chooses not to take this chance, we should consider someone passionate about the development of our football, people like Alois Bunjira.

Tapuwa Kapini Endorses Walter Magaya For ZIFA Presidency

Controversial Harare-based preacher, Walter Magaya, has opted for an out-of-court settlement with a family which had sued him for failing to fulfil a promise to build a house for them under a botched housing project in Douglasdale, Bulawayo.
As reported by the <a href="https://www.chronicle.co.zw/magaya-sued-over-botched-stands-deal-opts-for-out-of-court-settlement/">Chronicle</a>, the lawsuit was filed by Charles Chapindura and his wife under case number WCSCC 324/24.
They were demanding US$4 100 from Magaya, who is the founder and leader of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD).
The family accused Magaya of failing to provide the promised residential stand. Magaya had been scheduled to appear at Western Commonage Court on Tuesday, 14 May but he convinced the Chapindura family for an out-of-court settlement. Reads the settlement deed:

The first party (Magaya) shall settle the above amount by paying an initial deposit of US$500-00 on or before the 31st of May 2024 and subsequent instalments of US$200-00 starting on or before the 30th of June 2024, up until the full amount is extinguished.
</blockquote>
In turn, the Chapindura family agreed to withdraw the summons filed at Western Commonage Small Claims Court.
According to the out-of-court deed of the settlement, Chapindura was among a group of congregants that had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Magaya for the Douglasdale housing project in 2016.
Magaya acknowledged that the Chapindura family had contributed an amount of US$ 4,100 and that they were withdrawing from the housing project.
The two parties agreed that the MoU be cancelled and that the money be returned.

Walter Magaya Opts For Out Of Court Settlement In Botched Stands Deal

Yadah Stars Football Club founder and owner Walter Magaya has said he will persuade the club’s new marquee signing, Khama Billiat to consider coming out of international retirement.
As reported by <a href="https://www.soccer24.co.zw/2024/02/29/magaya-talks-billiat-warriors-return/">Soccer24</a>, the Harare-based cleric said he can persuade Billiat to return to the Warriors fold. He said:
<blockquote>
Well, the first thing is, he needs to play well and be wanted in the national team. But as far as convincing him is concerned, I’m very sure I can do so.
Khama is a natural leader and that leadership is still wanted in the national team if whoever will be the next coach sees it that way.

Billiat quit international football under unclear circumstances in November 2021. Announcing his decision to quit the national team, Billiat said:

This is probably the heaviest decision I have ever had to take in my life, but it is a decision I make with a patriotic heart.
Like those who had to pave the way for our generation of Warriors stars to emerge. I have decided to retire from international football.
I believe it is now time for me to pave the way for new talent to blossom and serve the country in the same way that I did, or even better.

Meanwhile, Magaya said the 33-year-old winger is still good enough to play in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League following his return from South Africa where he won the CAF Champions with Mamelodi Sundowns.

I Can Persuade Khama Billiat Return To Warriors Fold - Magaya

A group of Israeli businessmen claims to have been swindled out of US$3 million by Walter Magaya, the leader of the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD) church in Zimbabwe. The businessmen have warned that if they do not receive justice from the local courts, they will take the matter to international courts. The case is currently before the High Court of Zimbabwe, <a href="https://masvingomirror.com/israelis-ready-to-take-magaya-to-international-courts/?fbclid=IwAR1UMzl3kXKdT4bd1M0BR640GUYEmzy6w351L2l8OGZINNBzSYjFJ-IxGYY">The Mirror</a> reported.
The businessmen allege that Magaya received the money through Ronny Levi Musan, the Consul General of Zimbabwe in Israel appointed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa. They express shock at the scam and state that it is unheard of in Israel for a man of God to deceive people in the name of God. They said:

We hope that we will get justice in the courts in Zimbabwe; justice that will give other foreign investor confidence that their money is safe and justice that will act as deterrence to would be swindlers.
If we do not receive justice, we have all the power and financial capability to sue Magaya in international courts. We will not give up on our honour and on our money in anyway.
Magaya is lying to investors hiding behind the President’s pictures. It’s time for people to realise that not everyone who takes a picture with the President has the integrity of the President.

The statement released by their lawyer in Israel further alleges that Magaya received $3 million from Israeli businessmen to start a gold mining project together in Zimbabwe. However, after he received the money, he disappeared and didn’t do what he promised in the agreement. There hasn’t been any significant mining activity at the mine, and they haven’t obtained the necessary permits to operate. The businessmen are not only planning to take Magaya to court but are also requesting his arrest.
They claim that they were introduced to Zimbabwe through the efforts of Musan, whom they praised for his excellent work. They believe that without Musan, they would have never considered investing in Zimbabwe. Magaya became involved in the situation because of his longstanding acquaintance with the Ambassador. He introduced the investors to his church, hotel, and his plan to develop a gold mine with a community participation program.
The investors claim that Magaya attempted to give $500,000 of the money back to the Ambassador, but the Ambassador refused it and informed the investors about this unusual offer. 
According to the agreement, Magaya was supposed to hold 57% of the shares in the project, while the Israelis would have 43%. Magaya personally guaranteed that all the funds would be used to develop the mine. However, the statement accuses Magaya of shamelessly using his church, God’s name, and the trust placed in him by the Ambassador to deceive the investors and take their money.
They say Magaya was supposed to use his properties, including a hotel, as security, but he changed the terms after receiving the money. The statement also alleges that Magaya did not comply with the requirements for transferring the mine’s rights to the investors. Once he got what he wanted, his lawyers stopped communicating with the investors, according to the statement.
Musan stated that he was promoting Zimbabwe in Israel, presenting it as the promised land for investment and economic prosperity. He expressed concern that dishonest businessmen were damaging the country’s reputation and hindering its chances of attracting further investment.

Israeli Businessmen Threaten To Take Magaya To ICC For Swindling Them Of US$3 Million

The founder and leader of Prophetic, Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries, <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Walter_Magaya">Walter Magaya</a>, has revealed plans to build stadiums in his hometown Chitungwiza.
Magaya has already built a 5 000-seater stadium in Waterfalls, Harare, called The Heart Stadium which was commissioned by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Sunday.
The cleric said he sold four houses, two luxury cars and 64 residential stands to fund The Heart Stadium project.
Speaking at the ceremony, Magaya said a few years ago, he proposed a deal to the Chitungwiza Town Council to renovate Chibuku Stadium.
He wanted to use the stadium as a home ground for his Premier Soccer League club Yadah Stars FC. NewsDay quoted Magaya as saying:

Your Excellency, we have approached different city councils, looking first at Chitungwiza where I come from.
I wish to construct a stadium in Chitungwiza and replicate the same that is here, at Chibuku Stadium.
I have engaged the Chitungwiza City Council, but the response is not yet favourable.
It is my prayer that I assist Chitungwiza. If they give me a green light today, I will start work the next day.

He said he wanted to build two stadiums in the dormitory town. Magaya said:

I want to build two stadiums there. I have the stadium plans, and everything is ready, but they (councillors) are slow.
They don’t react, I don’t know why. I want to renovate Chibuku Stadium, I want to construct a stadium in Zengeza.
I’m ready, I have guys behind the scenes who are ready to sponsor. I have big plans for Chitungwiza, I want to build that city.
I went there four years ago; I went there again two years ago so this was my third visit there.
I met the full council and I told them I wanted to build Chitungwiza and bring it to life.
There are a million people in Chitungwiza and these guys need help, so my dream is to build them stadiums.

Heart Stadium: The 1st Stadium With Bucket Seats In Zimbabwe

Yadah Football Club founder and president, Walter Magaya, has announced that the Zimbabwe national soccer team, the Warriors, will no longer have to play their home matches outside the country. None of the existing stadiums meet the international standards required to host international matches. The National Sports Stadium, Rufaro, and Babourfields were flagged down by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) due to these deficiencies. Resultantly, Zimbabwe hosted Nigeria in Rwanda for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier match last month.
Magaya believes his new stadium called The Heart Stadium, located at the Yadah Hotel in Waterfalls, Harare, is a solution to the problem. The stadium features a suspended pitch and has already installed 5,000 bucket seats, along with a directors’ box and other necessary facilities. Magaya expects the stadium to be ready for international matches by February 2024.
Speaking at the official commissioning of the stadium presided over by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and attended by hundreds of dignitaries, Magaya expressed his commitment to ensuring that the Warriors can play their World Cup qualifying matches at home from next year onwards. <a href="https://www.soccer24.co.zw/2023/12/10/warriors-wont-play-home-matches-outside-zimbabwe-again-says-magaya/">Soccer24</a> quotes him as saying:

I pledge that stadium for the Warriors’ World Cup qualifying campaign next year, by February I will be done with a proper 10 000-seater stadium, that I promise you.
I have already bought the bucket seats to make it to the 10,000, I have already bought them from China and they will be arriving soon.
So for next year I  will be ready, that I promise you. We won’t have any Warriors game played outside Zimbabwe, unless God says so, but I don’t see God saying so.

Magaya’s announcement follows the acknowledgment by Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Emily Jesaya, that the stadium issue is a key priority for the government in 2024. She mentioned that funds have been allocated in the budget specifically for the development of stadiums. Jesaya said recently:

We would want to assure the nation that next year 2024, we will see the Warriors play at the National Sports Stadium.

Zimbabwe is set to host Benin for Match Day 3 of the World Cup qualifiers in the first week of June 2024.

We Won’t Have Any Warriors Game Played Outside Zimbabwe - Magaya

The founder and leader of Prophetic, Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries, Walter Magaya, says he sold a number of his prime assets to raise funds to build the Heart Stadium in Waterfalls, Harare.
The stadium was built in just two months and is set to be officially opened tomorrow, 10 December.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/magaya-sold-prime-assets-to-fund-his-heart-stadium/">Zimpapers Sport</a>, Magaya, who also owns the Premier Soccer League (PSL) club Yadah Stars, said he sold most of his priced possessions to fund the project.
Magaya, however, did not disclose the assets he parted with to fund the building of the stadium which is a duplicate of the Swansea Stadium in South Wales. He said:

This was driven by my heart. I can tell you that I had to sell some of my assets just to kick-start this project…
I am happy the project will now be commissioned and it’s not for my use. It’s for football. I love football and this is for the game that I like the most.
I am a relieved man right now, the past two months or so have been very hectic.
I am humbled that the experts and top Government officials have been in support of this project right from the day we laid the first brick.
I salute the workers and volunteers from my church who worked day and night to make sure that this project saw the light of the day.

Magaya said that once complete, the 5 000-seater stadium will accommodate up to 40 000 people.
The clergyman has invited top Government officials and key football stakeholders to attend the official opening ceremony.

"Magaya Sold Prime Assets To Fund Heart Stadium Construction"

Harare-based preacher Walter Magaya said that the construction of Heart Stadium at the Yadah Hotel in Waterfalls is almost complete.
In an interview with <a href="https://www.herald.co.zw/magayas-heart-stadium-nears-completion/">The Herald</a> on Friday, Magaya, who owns Yadah Football Club, said the commissioning of the stadium is scheduled to take place in a week’s time. He said:

We started the construction of this stadium about eight weeks ago and I am very happy with the progress.
We are almost there and we are just trying to make sure that we tick all the boxes.
Every step that we have taken has been guided by the experts in that field.
Workers have been working every minute on shifts and we are happy with what we have done so far.
We are expecting to have the stadium commissioned on the 5th of November which is next week.
That is my wish and we are working hard to try and accomplish that.
I would like to thank every stakeholder who has been handy in the construction of this stadium.
You know I love football and I am doing this for football, not myself. I am not doing this for anyone else but my country.

Heart Stadium, a 5000-seater facility, has been under construction for the past two months.

Magaya Says Construction Of Heart Stadium Nears Completion

The founder and leader of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries, Walter Magaya has said the construction of a stadium at his Yadah Hotel Complex in Waterfalls has severely drained his finances.
Magaya’s church is currently building a capital-intensive stadium in Waterfalls, Harare, called the Heart Stadium.
He was quoted by <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/stadium-has-left-me-broke-magaya/">H-Metro</a> as saying he has embarked on cost-cutting measures to ensure that the construction of the stadium goes ahead. He said:
<blockquote>
The costs are huge and right now l can say it has left him as a person who can be called BROKE.
You have to adjust just about everything, cutting on a lot of things just to make sure you keep funding such a project.
</blockquote>
Speaking to <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/thestandard/sport/article/200015584/yadah-fc-constructs-swansea-stadium-lookalike">The Standard</a> just over a month ago, Magaya said Heart Stadium will have 40,000 seating capacity when completed.
Construction work started in July 2023 and the contractor was reportedly targeting to hand over the completed project in the coming weeks. Said Magaya:

The lawn is ready and in very good condition. We are working 24 hours on the site and the plan is to play some games there before the end of the season.
We have followed all the procedures for submitting the papers to the City Council and all the relevant authorities who have received them very well.
We will also invite the Zifa FIB (First Instance Board) to inspect the stadium, and any other stakeholders to participate in our endeavour to make sure we build a world-class facility. That is our aim.
We are starting with a 5 000-seater facility but the full capacity when completed is 40 000.
Our aim is to allow other clubs to use the facility. We are putting dressing rooms that meet the Premier Soccer League and CAF requirements.
</blockquote>
Magaya, however, could not reveal the exact value of the stadium but said millions of dollars have been sunk into the project.

Construction Of Heart Stadium Has Left Me Broke - Magaya

A 61-year-old woman from Bulawayo, Thembelani Ncube, is homeless after selling her house to invest in the Planet Africa housing project, initiated by Walter Magaya, the founder of Prophetic, Healing and Deliverance Ministries.
Ncube, who is also a member of the ministry, was enticed to sell her eight-roomed house in Nkulumane 5 in 2017, with the hope of residing in the promised estate house in Douglas Dale. According to Ncube, Magaya introduced the housing scheme to the church members in 2016. She shared her unfortunate situation in an interview with <a href="https://cite.org.zw/byo-woman-homeless-after-selling-house-for-prophet-magayas-housing-project/">CITE</a>. Ncube said:
<blockquote>
I was a member at Walter Magaya’s Ministries for 10 years, he introduced a scheme where he was going to build houses and those who wanted to be part of the scheme were supposed to pay US$4 000, a fee towards the construction of a house, then when you are a resident in the estate, you will be paying a certain amount until your debt is finished.
</blockquote>
Ncube revealed that she had also been involved in various investment projects introduced by the prophet. These included ventures in potato and onion farming, beekeeping, and solar drying of fruits and vegetables. However, when it came time to collect the profits from the farming projects, they were instructed to switch their focus to mining instead. Furthermore, as part of the housing project, they were shown a housing estate with around 1,500 houses and presented with images of the envisioned ideal homes. She said:

All I want is my house or my money which I will use to buy a house because this is time wasted, from 2017 to now the money has depreciated in value, and I have no place to stay.
I have reported the issue to the police but they tell me, ‘anosunga Magaya ndiani’, they are not taking my issue serious and they are telling me to group with other people but I don’t know anyone involved as I was doing most of the things alone.
The police went to Umguza Rural District Council and they said they were told that there is no such housing scheme. They further referred the police to Mhlahlandlela. The police also told me that the company is in Harare. All I want is my money, I don’t even want to go to Harare.
I believed this person and didn’t think he would do me like this hence I sold my house alone, when I left my house, I told my neighbours that I was going to stay at Douglas Dale, I didn’t even send my goodbyes to other neighbours and sold all my property.
</blockquote>
Ncube said that her relationship with her two children has been strained since she sold their house. She expressed her frustration at the difficulty in reaching out to Magaya due to protocol, noting that his relatives working in the Bulawayo branch of the church no longer send her greetings after she started demanding her money. Additionally, she mentioned that the church officials in Bulawayo claim to be addressing the issue of title deeds, despite the fact that they had already paid the legal fees. Ncube also expressed concern about her investments in other projects, specifically mentioning that the bees died without any communication from the church, despite the leader’s claim of transparency. Adding to her troubles, she revealed that she is a member of the IR (Investor Relations) department.
A senior church official in Bulawayo clarified that residential stands in Douglas Dale are available but not fully developed due to insufficient funds. They denied compelling anyone to sell their property, emphasizing that the stands were unserviced. Financial constraints arose after the 1:1 dollarization. She said:
<blockquote>
The ministry never asked anyone to sell nor did the prophet, the stands are still there but the servicing is not done because of financial constraints as most of the people didn’t finish paying their instalments.
</blockquote>
The official confirmed that once the houses are completed, Ncube and others will benefit, as they are actively seeking an investor. They mentioned that there are 910 stands available, with around 700 people already involved and an additional 200 available. They expressed the intention to find an investor to facilitate progress in the project.

Controversial Harare-based preacher, Walter Magaya, has pledged to continue financially supporting the Zimbabwe Warriors for them to play at the World Cup finals.
<a href="https://nehandaradio.com/2023/07/12/im-ready-to-sponsor-warriors-i-want-them-to-qualify-for-world-cup-magaya/">Nehanda Radio</a> on Thursday reported that Magaya, who is the founder and leader of megachurch Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD), has refused to give up on his dream to see the Warriors play at the World Cup finals. Said Magaya:
<blockquote>
Zimbabwe will play at the World Cup one day. It’s only a matter of time. As long I’m alive, I will continue supporting the team in any way to ensure this dream is fulfilled.
We have a lot of talent in this country, so why not qualify for the World Cup? I will not cease to support the national team to achieve such a remarkable feat.
</blockquote>
Magaya, who owns Premiership club Yadah Stars Football Club, has in the past bailed the financially struggling ZIFA out.
The cleric said he stopped giving financial support to the Warriors when the former ZIFA president Felton Kamambo took over the reins from Philip Chiyangwa. Magaya said:

I stopped helping the Warriors for reasons beyond my control. But now that we have been re-admitted by FIFA, if the new leadership in control of things at ZIFA wants me to continue assisting the team where possible, I’m ready.
</blockquote>
Zimbabwe were included in the FIFA World Cup 2026 African qualifiers and are set to learn their opponents on Thursday.
They are in pot 4 with Mozambique, Togo, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Central African Republic, Malawi and Libya.

Walter Magaya Pledges To Bankroll Warriors To Qualify For World Cup Finals

A number of women who were allegedly sexually abused by <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Walter_Magaya">Walter Magaya</a> have responded to the call made by the Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC) for them to make submissions, according to The Herald.
The leader of the Prophetic, Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries church is accused of sexually abusing several women and girls.
Speaking during a recent press briefing on the preliminary findings of the national inquiry on sexual exploitation and abuse of young girls and child marriages, ZGC chairperson Commissioner Margaret Mukahanana-Sangarwe said:

There have been some complainants that have come through but we can not share at the moment how many they are.
We have had some responses in terms of some people coming forward and we are still waiting for more responses. We will inform you as we get more responses from the complainants.
</blockquote>
<a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/walter-magaya-under-probe-for-alleged-sexual-abuse-of-female-congregants/">Investigations into allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse</a> of women by Magaya started last month, according to ZGC.
Previously the probe had been halted in 2019 after Magaya filed an urgent application at the High Court questioning the validity of the investigations.
However, the courts ruled in favour of the Commission paving way for the continuance of the probe.
The Commission is still calling on members of the public who might have complaints against the clergyman to come to present their grievances.

Women Respond To ZGC Call To Make Submissions In Walter Magaya's Rape Case

The Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC) has started investigations into the alleged sexual exploitation and abuse of women by Walter Magaya, a self-styled prophet.
Magaya is the founder and leader of Prophetic and Healing Deliverance Ministries church.
ZGC said an investigation into Magaya’s conduct was gazetted on 23 August 2019, but he launched a court challenge, stalling the investigation.
The commission said the courts have since handed down judgements which have allowed it to continue with the probe.
The ZGC is therefore inviting people who have sexual exploitation and abuse complaints against Magaya to come forward and present their cases. ZGC said:

The Zimbabwe Gender Commission wishes to advise members of the Public that the Zimbabwe Gender Commission in its Commission meeting number 38 on the 4th of August 2022 resolved to recommence the investigation of the allegations of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of Women levelled against Prophet Walter Magaya of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries.
The investigation which was gazetted on the 23rd of August 2019 (General Notice No.1444/2019) was halted by the Legal Challenge launched by the key respondent Mr Walter Magaya (Prophet Magaya).
We are happy that the courts have given legal judgements (SC592/19, HC 7347/19 and HH688/19) which have paved the way for the continuance of our processes.
As such, we are calling on all citizens who might have complaints of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) involving the conduct of Walter Magaya to present particulars of their complaints to the Zimbabwe Gender Commission. 
The invitation is also being extended to all the complainants and witnesses to such acts which consist of SEA of Women within the denomination.

Walter Magaya Under Probe For Alleged Sexual Abuse Of Female Congregants

The Supreme Court has dismissed an application by Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries leader Walter Magaya that sought to nullify a 2019 High Court ruling that authorised investigations on allegations of sexual abuses levelled against him.
The High Court had allowed the Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC) to investigate the preacher.

In her judgment, Justice Anne-Marie Gowora said the High Court’s decision should be upheld arguing that barring the ZGC from conducting investigations would be a violation of the law. Ruled Justice Gowora:
<blockquote>
The premise of the interdict was that the intended investigation was illegal from several bases, the first being the want of jurisdiction to conduct an investigation and the alleged illegal exercise of that jurisdiction by the Commission. It was the intention of the appellant to subject the decision to issue the Notice to a review process.
It is pertinent to point out that for every law that is gazetted there is a presumption of validity and appropriate legal mechanisms have been put in place in terms of the law where one intends to challenge the validity of a legal instrument. Until it has been set aside, the General Notice has the force of law and anything done under it is presumed to be lawful and valid. An application for an interdict is not and cannot by any stretch of the imagination be considered as one of those mechanisms.

Supreme Court Dismisses Magaya's Bid To Have Sexual Assault Investigations Blocked

A personal bodyguard of Zimbabwean preacher Walter Magaya has “exposed” his boss’ dirty works in a call with the clergyman’s wife. The man, only identified as James Dzamu in a recorded telephone conversation with Magaya’s wife, Tendai, said he is now speaking out as he feels used. We present below the unaltered audio transcript as posted by ZimEye.

Tendai Magaya: it (volume) is now clear.
Jimmy: do you see, you could say that things are hard, but other people are receiving things right now. There is a girl called Tadiwa, a college student- he conducted a birthday party for her. Right now, he flew her to Turkey, I know everything, I have got all the details, all of them. But I’m the person who used to pull him out of trouble, the same person who used to rescue him is the one that he is now mishandling.
He is the same person who is now now instructing, that I should come with my lawyer, to conclude our matter in writing. But the things that he himself declared before my lawyer he is refusing to pay up. Why is he so rough?
So me the reason why I called you what I am now doing now is, if the sun sets before his lawyer Charambudza has come to my lawyer to finalise this case, or to sign down in agreement, to give me what they owe me, even if they pay me gradually, the same way they announced earlier, everything is now going public. I’m going to hold a press conference.
I have got nothing to lose, I died a long time ago, I know they are looking for me so that they kill me. I have heard everything. Those that they killed are those that they killed, as for me they can’t manage me.
And leaders in the country now know me that I came from Magaya, and it was because of A, B, C and D. It wasn’t my wish to desert Magaya, but they wanted to get me arrested when they are the ones who are involved; they wanted me imprisoned for a crime I did not commit.
There is no one I ever assaulted. That young brother of his, the one that they are saying is his young brother; there is no one why I ever assaulted(sic).
Right now they are saying Chief (suc) is hungry because of this and that; they are forgetting that for this church to be where it is right now, I had to stand for them, for them not to be arrested but right now they are behaving like Korokozas.

The trial of one of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries leader Prophet Walter Magaya’s personal bodyguard has commenced yesterday. James Dzamu appeared before magistrate Mr. Stanford Mambanje at Mbare Magistrates’ Courts for allegedly issuing death threats to prominent actress Charity Dhlodhlo who was reportedly revealing disgusting details about the Magaya’s business and private life.
Dlodlo told the court in her testimony that Dzamu approached her while she was parked outside the gate of her house and threatened her. She said that Dzamu just emerged from behind an avocado tree and proceeded to her car and said:
<blockquote>Charity, if you want to die keep on doing what you are doing; talking about (Prophet) Magaya. If you are someone just keep quiet.</blockquote>
Dlodlo told the court that she knew Dzamu since she had once worked with him on an assignment given to them by Magaya. She added that her first report to the police she made in 2018 was not successful following the destruction of the docket at Waterfalls Police Station. She said:
<blockquote>My first police statement for this case was changed by the police and they forged my signature and I struggled to make another one.</blockquote>
The actress added that she had to approach the President’s Office to report the conduct of the police after she felt she was not getting the assistance she needed with her case.
Dzamu denies the charges and also claims that he does not even know Dhlodhlo’s residential address.

Magaya Death Threats Trial Commences

Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries founder, Walter Magaya, has resolved to sell his Castle Lager Premier Soccer League club, Yadah Stars FC.
This was revealed by the club’s consultant, Wellington Mpandare, who is also the national team manager. He said Magaya intends to focus on helping the national side. Said Mpandare:
<blockquote>The club is up for sale. His (Magaya’s) decision to sell the club does not mean that he won’t be supporting sports and football anymore. Already, he is involved in football with the national team.
… He is doing a lot and wants to concentrate on areas that have a lot of people. But above all, he wants to put more effort into national teams.
His dream is to see the Warriors qualify for the World Cup. He is also helping the Young Warriors and has in the past extended his helping hand to the Mighty Warriors.</blockquote>
Meanwhile, Yadah will continue fulfilling its league fixtures while It hunts for new owners. The club is set to host Chicken Inn at Rufaro Stadium in Harare this Saturday.

Magaya To Sell Yadah Stars FC

Walter Magaya will pay a $700 fine after admitting distributing and advertising a drug he claimed cures HIV and cancer, without regulatory approval. Mgaya was arrested last year after he advertised a herb (aguma) which he claimed is capable of healing HIV/AIDS.
Earlier today Magaya was convicted for contravening the Medicines Control Act after advertising his Aguma medicine, which he claimed could cure HIV and AIDS.

Walter Magaya To Pay $700 Fine After Conviction For Contravening Medicines Control Act

Walter Magaya says his Yadah Stars’ Premiership franchise is not for sale.
He added that this year he intends to take a hands-on approach to issues related to the club and try to even fulfil his dream of winning silverware. There has been speculation during this off-season that the franchise would be put on the market with a number of clubs, notably relegated Nichrut and Bulawayo City, being possible buyers. Magaya said he will remain the club’s technical director. Said Magaya:
<blockquote>I have heard the speculation that we are going to sell Yadah Stars but that’s not true and we are here to stay and we will be part of the PSL again this year. In fact, while I faced some challenges last year with what l felt was an unfair treatment of my team, leading me to take a back seat of its operations, I can report that I have had a change of heart and revived my commitment to the project. A number of players were knocking on my door every day saying they were distraught because they felt I was abandoning them and telling me stories of how we have become a family and how I have managed to transform their lives. In the end I could not ignore their pleas for me to reconsider my position and I am back with them and I also felt I needed another crack to realise my dream of winning some silverware because I believe in this mission. That is why we have started preparations very early when most of our rivals are having an off-season because we intend to make a difference this time around and make a big impact.</blockquote>

Flamboyant preacher, founder and leader of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries, Walter Magaya was recently pictured eating roasted corn (maputi) and frozen sugar juice (freezit).
Social media was stirred by the pictures and people gave their views. Below are some of the comments.

“I want to believe that Prophet Magaya is not an angel he is as human as anyone else and loves maputi anetwunhu twake murume uya musanyeperane guys.
“Prophet Magaya has many unfinished projects that consume a lot of money that is why he is broke to take maputi for lunch.</blockquote>
When contacted for comment by H-metro, Magaya had this to say,

I spent the better part of Saturday training with Yadah FC a. assessing some of the new players we are expecting to shake PSL teams beginning of the season.

The government through the Ministry of Health and Child Care has said that it has no record that the<a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2018/10/28/magaya-claims-he-has-found-hiv-cure/" rel="noopener" target="_blank"> alleged cure for HIV/Aids which was announced by Prophet Walter Magaya</a> ever went for any clinical trials. We publish the statement below,
<blockquote>The Ministry of Health and Child Care noted with concern the claims made in the media on Sunday 28 October 2018 regarding the discovery of a cure for HIV and AIDS.
The Ministry would like to advise the public that there are processes and procedures that new medicines should go through before they are recognized as effective and safe for use by patients. Medicines go through rigorous tests, including clinical trials, which involve use of the product under strict medical supervision. This is done prior to registration, and the results are submitted to the Medicines Regulator as evidence of the effectiveness of the medicines. If the clinical trials are performed within the country these trials are authorised by the Secretary for Health and Child Care. This is to ensure that patients receive safe, effective and reliable medicines.
Neither the medicines register, nor the register of clinical trials kept by the Ministry has a record of the cited medicine. Herbal medicines now require approval by the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe and the product has not yet been submitted for review and assessment.
The Ministry strongly urges all clients on treatment for HIV and AIDS to continue on their prescribed medication. Any form of discontinuation or switch made without the guidance of medical professionals may lead to adverse consequences on theft health status. The available medicines have been proven to be safe and effective for the treatment of HIV and AIDS. They have been robust in lowering the HIV virus, as well as prolonging lives and livelihoods have improved in a remarkable way.</blockquote>

Govt Expresses Concern Over Magaya's Claims Of HIV Cure, Says It Has No Record Of Drug Being Tested In Zim

Sources told The Herald that Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries founding leader Walter Magaya will no longer be sponsoring Yadah Stars.
The sources said this is because Magaya is opening a factory soon. Said the source:
<blockquote>PHD will be opening a new factory soon and those guys involved in the day-to-day running of the club are already busy with that and so the management are looking at how best they can deal with the soccer club. They may just donate it to people who might be interested in running a team in the league. A decision has to be made soon before the season starts.</blockquote>
Yadah chairman Everson Chatambudza confirmed Magaya hinted during the Crossover Night on New Year’s Eve that going forward, he was looking at separating Yadah Stars from the ministry, with the club expected to rely on its own sponsorship. Chatambudza told The Herald that he can only give the club’s correct position on Monday.

Walter Magaya Terminates Yadah Stars Sponsorship

Prophetic Healing and Deliverance founder Walter Magaya has revealed that he played in the Zimbabwe Legends match, despite never having played professional football because the heavens had qualified him. Magaya came in on as a subject in a match in which the Zimbabwe Legends drew 2-2 against the Barcelona Legends at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday. Explaining why he played, Magaya said:
<blockquote>It is true that I am one of the unheralded soccer players in Zimbabwe but the heavens qualified me to play today and I am happy that I participated in the scoring of our second goal.
I play soccer every day so does Walter junior and this was part of our ministry and PHD came in numbers after learning that I was going to play.
…By coming in their numbers PHD was preaching peace and many learnt a lot when they watched me giving others a chance to play and do my best when I was asked by the coach to play.</blockquote>
