As you can see from the comparison table, the phones are quite similar, with the exception of 3 things where the Itel P40 is better.
<h2>Is the Itel P40 a better phone than the Tecno Pop 7 Pro</h2>
The answer is Yes.
The Itel p40 has a larger battery at 6000 mAh, compared to the Tecno’s 5000 mAh. The itel P40 battery also charges faster.
The Itel P40’s Unisoc SC9863A is a slightly better processor than the Tecno Pop 7 Pro’s Helio A22. This means the P40 is faster in general even though they are both entry-level processors.

Itel P40 and Tecno Pop 7 Pro Compared. Which one is better?

Tecno will be releasing its latest phone the Camon 20, in Zimbabwe this week. The company started teasing the launch of the phone in the country on its <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tecnomobileszw/">Instagram page</a> last week, on 22 May.
The posts promise that the Tecno Camon 20 will be launched tomorrow, 30 May. As far as Pindula knows, the Camon is the only phone that Tecno Mobile Zimbabwe does a launch event for.
<h2>Availability and Price</h2>
The phone was announced globally on the 9th of May. The slight delay with Zimbabwe was probably due to the need to release it once people can actually buy it locally.
Going by the current prices of its predecessor the, Camon 19, the price of the Camon 20 in Zimbabwe will be between $200 and $300 depending on which variation you buy.
Material on the official Tecno Mobile website suggests the company is placing emphasis on the phone’s camera. The phone has a triple-camera system on the back, consisting of a 64MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a QVGA AI sensor.

At the moment, Zimbabwe <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/05/29/5g-network-coverage-in-zimbabwe-where-can-you-find-it-should-you-buy-a-5g-phone/">is not considered a country that has extensive 5G coverage</a>. Even though Econet launched 5G in 2022, it still just a few 5G base stations in parts of Harare.
A 5G version will therefore not be very relevant currently unless one lives or works within the range of one of the 22 5G base stations in the country. However, one may still want to buy it if they think this is the phone they will be using for the next 4 or so years. This also means one thinks the country’s economy will get better soon enough to encourage the deployment of 5G by Econet and NetOne.

Tecno To Release Latest, Camon 20, In Zimbabwe This Week

ZESA electricity outages and load-shedding are still a big problem in Zimbabwe, so how long a battery phone lasts is very important. Worse, there are a lot of new residential suburbs where house owners do not have electricity installed at all.
Pindula has compiled a list of phones with the biggest batteries available here in Zimbabwe.
It is important to know however that having the biggest capacity battery does not automatically mean the longest-lasting battery. The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/05/18/tips-taking-care-of-your-phone-battery-so-it-lasts-longer/">battery life is affected by a lot of things</a>. A phone may have a very big battery mAh but poor power management. With Samsungs, for example, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has the same 5,000 mAh size battery as Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it lasts much longer because of its more power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
It is also common for budget mobile phones, such as itel and Tecno, to have higher battery-size lots of inbuilt apps always running that cannot be turned off. This uses more battery.
<h2>Itel P40 (6,000 mAh)</h2>

Its battery comes at 6 000 mAh, the same as its predecessor, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2022/010/05/itel-p38-pro-prices-in-zimbabwe-specs-full-features/">the Itel P38.</a>

<h2>Tecno Pova Neo  (6000 mAh)</h2>
Released in December 2021, the Pova Neo has a large 6000 mAh battery. This phone is still widely available in Zimbabwe compared to its successor, the Pova Neo 2 which was released in October 2022 (the Pova Neo 2 has a 7000 battery).
Tecno claims that the battery can last up to two days on a single charge.

The Tecno Pova 3 comes with a massive 7,000mAh battery. Though not widely available in Zimbabwe, this is a much more capable phone compared to the Neo above. It was released in May 2022.

The Samsung Galaxy M62 is a 7000mAh battery phone released in March 2021. It supports 25W fast charging. The M62 belongs in the group of the few Samsung phones that have 7,000 mAh. The others are the Galaxy F62 (released Feb 2021) and the Galaxy M51 (released September 2020).

Affordable Mobile Phones With The Biggest Batteries

The Tecno Spark is one of the most popular mobile phones in Zimbabwe. It balances affordability and features that are normally found in more expensive devices.
As with its predecessor, the Spark 9, this phone comes in 3 variants: the Spark 10c on the lower end, the Spark 10 in the middle and the Spark 10 Pro on the upper end.
All 3 phones have been available in Zimbabwe since the end of March.
<h2>What is the Tecno Spark 10?</h2>
Tecno Spark is a brand of phone emade by Chinese company Transsion. It’s the same company that makes itl, Infinix and Oraimo brand devices.
In the Tecno range of phones, the Spark series is in the lower middle. The lowest in the range is the Pop series. The latest in this series is the Pop 7 and Pop 7 Pro. The prices of these phones usually range from $95 to $120
Next in the range is the Spark series. After the Spark is the Pova series. The Pova is not very common in Zimbabwe but it is available. Prices are generally in the same range as the Spark
Then comes Camon series. While they are considered medium rang phones, for the average Zimbabwean phone buyer, the Camon range is premium. It is therefore not as common as the Pops and the Sparks. You will find phones from $200 all the way to $340.
At the top, flagship if you will, is the Tecno Phantom brand. The pricing here starts at about $350 going up.

Tecno Pop 7 Pro Now Available in Zimbabwe

Data from global analytics company <a href="https://gs.statcounter.com/vendor-market-share/mobile/zimbabwe/#monthly-202201-202212-bar">StatCounter</a> shows that Samsung has continued to be the most popular phone brand in Zimbabwe in 2022.
Samsung mobile phones had 33% market share in the country. 
Huawei is a distant second with 21% market share. The third most popular device brand in Zimbabwe is iPhone, the Apple smartphone, which has 13% market share.
The third and Fourth most popular mobile phone brands are Itel and Tecno which have 11% and 6% market share respectively. Other notable but relatively less popular brands include Nokia, Xiaomi, and Infinix.
StatCounter is a web analytics service that claims to calculate stats on the basis of more than 5 billion page views per month, by people from all over the world onto some 1.5 million member sites. it’s one of the few companies globally that collates this data and makes it available to the public.
Given that the method of data collection considers phones that can connect to the internet, this leaves out basic and feature phones which are not designed for internet connectivity. There is some evidence that features phones are quite popular in Zimbabwe. Including them would likely change the ranking.
The picture of the data generally agrees with data from websites in Zimbabwe (specifically, Pindula and Techzim).
<h2>Popular Samsung Phones</h2>
According to that local data, the most popular Samsung phone in Zimbabwe in 2022 was the Samsung A12. This was followed by Samsung A21s, then Samsung A32, then A2 Core, the Samsung 10s, and Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Plus. 
Samsung phones are generally imported into the country as grey imports. These can be brand new as well as refurbished ones. Zimbabweans have generally shied away from buying from official Samsung channels due to high prices.

As for Huawei, the local data shows that the most popular model in 2022 was the P30 Lite. This is followed by the Y series devices Y9 Prime, Y5 Prime, Y5 Lite and Y7. There is also P20 Lite, P30 Pro, Honour 4x and Y9 but these are relatively less popular.

According to data the most popular Itel phones in Zimbabwe in 2020 include Vision 1 Plus, A16 Plus, A56 Lite (and Pro), P15, and Itel A36. These are itel phones released between 2019 and 2021.

As for Tecno mobile phones, the most popular are just Spark 7 and Spark 6 Go. Just as with Itel, these are phones from several years ago, showing slow uptake of new releases by both Tecno and Itel.
<h2>Popular Gtel Phones</h2>
Even though Gtel does not show prominently as a popular phone brand in the country as per global stats, some of its models have been popular enough locally to rival the major brand models. Local data suggests that the Gtel Infinity is the most popular Gtel phone in the country. This model is followed by the Infinity 8s.

One of Zimbabwe’s most popular phone brands, Tecno, will this week launch its 2 flagship devices in Dubai
The company will be launching the Phantom X2 series and the Megabook S1 (Tecno a laptop). The two are considered premium devices in the Tecno range and are generally priced higher than other Tecnos.
The company announced that the event will have representatives from Android, MediaTek, Intel, and Microsoft. These partners power the phones with hardware and software.
It’s not clear yet when the Phantom X2 will be available in Zimbabwe. Once the devices are available, Pindula will update its platforms.

The Megabook S1 laptop replaces the current Megabook T1. The laptop has however generally not been available in Zimbabwe through the official Tecno channels. it’s not clear yet if the Megabook S1 will.
