Talent Madungwe (38), a self-proclaimed prophet from Hatfield, Harare, appeared before the Epworth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for sentencing after being convicted of driving without a valid licence and negligent driving.
For the first count, Madungwe received a wholly suspended four-month prison sentence, conditional on not committing another negligent driving offence within the next five years.
For the second count, he was sentenced to six months in prison, with three months suspended for five years and the remaining three months suspended on the condition that he completes 105 hours of community service.
The incident occurred on August 6, 2024, at around 10:20 AM, when Madungwe, known as the “Heavenly Army Commander,” was driving a Toyota Aqua.
While turning right out of his home, he sideswiped a Nissan NP300 single cab on a strip road near Airport Road, heading towards Harare CBD. The Nissan sustained minor damage to its load box.
At the time of the incident, Madungwe was driving without a licence.
Madungwe was among those who benefited from Wicknell Chivayo’s donations of Toyota Aquas.

A man named Talent Madungwe got in trouble for driving without a license and causing an accident. The court gave him a suspended prison sentence and community service as punishment. The accident happened in August 2024 when Madungwe's car hit another car. Madungwe was driving a donated car without a license at the time. He is now going to do community service to make up for his mistake. This shows that even if you do something wrong, you can make up for it by helping others.

Madungwe To Perform Community Service For Negligent Driving

Talent Madungwe, a controversial preacher based in Harare, is scheduled to be sentenced on October 9 by the Magistrates Court for violating the Road Traffic Act.
Madungwe, a self-proclaimed prophet, appeared before Epworth magistrate Tafadzwa Miti last week, where he pleaded guilty to charges of negligent driving and driving without a valid driver’s licence.
The court heard that on August 6, 2024, around 10 AM, Madungwe left his home on Airport Road in Hatfield, Harare and turned right onto the main road. 
He allegedly sideswiped Rutendo Kwinjo’s vehicle, a Nissan NP300 single cab with registration number ACG 8313, as both were travelling towards Harare CBD. Kwinjo’s vehicle sustained minor damage.
He initially appeared in Epworth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and was remanded out of custody to Thursday after Nyamutswa indicated that the State intended to amend the papers before he could be properly placed before the court.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on Monday confirmed that Madungwe will be back in Court on Wednesday for sentencing.
Madungwe was among those who benefited from Wicknell Chivayo’s donations of Toyota Aquas.

"Prophet" Madungwe To Learn His Fate For Driving Without A Licence

Harare-based controversial preacher, Talent Madungwe, has avoided eviction from his rented home, at least for now, after he paid US$100 of the US$800 he owes his landlady in rental arrears.
As reported by <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/madungwe-gets-donation-pays-us100/">H-Metro</a>, Madungwe, who claims to be a prophet, received a cash donation from Jan Jam. Said Madungwe:

I want to thank Jan Jam for the donation I received towards payment of my rentals.
Zvaratidza kuti havasi vose vanondishuvira zvakaipa. (It demonstrated that not everyone harbours ill intentions toward me).
Ndabhadharawo mbichani kuna Gogo saka zvikaita ndichapedzisa. (I’ve made a partial payment toward my rental arrears to my landlady and plan to settle the remaining balance once I have the funds).

Madungwe’s landlady, Gogo Mangena told H-Metro that the preacher paid US$100. She said:

I am not sure about the amount of money he received from well-wishers, but he paid US$100 only.

Madungwe has, for the past four months, failed to pay his monthly rentals of US$200 for two rooms in Hatfield.
One of Madungwe’s neighbours said well-wishers should engage the self-styled prophet’s wife who has a daughter and is expecting.
The neighbour added that Madungwe should get a job instead of spending too much time in prayer as he ends up “blaspheming”.
The Exile Desire of All Nations founder rose to fame a few years ago after claiming he met God in heaven and had a “braai” with the Almighty.
Madungwe’s critics consider his claim of seeing God face to face as blasphemous, and they believe he is now facing divine wrath.

"Prophet" Talent Madungwe Escapes Eviction By Paying Partial Rent Arrears

Self-proclaimed prophet, Talent Madungwe, who rose to fame a few years ago after claiming he met God in heaven and had a “braai” with the Almighty, is said to be in financial distress and can now barely afford to pay his rent.
According to <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/prophet-madungwe-falls-on-hard-times-fails-to-pay-rent-he-hasnt-paid-rent-for-four-months-he-claims-the-devil-is-now-fighting-him/">H-Metro</a>, the Exile Desire of All Nations founder may be evicted after he failed to pay rentals for almost four months at the house he is renting in Hatfield, Harare.
Madungwe’s 70-year-old landlady, Gogo Mangena, told H-Metro that he was even opting to leave without paying his rental arrears. She said:

I was being silenced from demanding my rentals for some time.
Prophet Madungwe kwakutondidheerera vachingoti ndichabhadhara, ndichabhadhara.
I gave him a notice and he wants to leave without paying my money.
This is unfair considering that I respect him as a celebrity.
He wakes up daily and conducts three prayers without going to work.
Handidye minamato yake ini, ndinoda mari yangu. (I don’t eat his prayers, I want my money).

Madungwe confirmed to H-Metro that he had fallen on hard times and was passing through trials. He said:

Things have not been well for me since September last year.
Ukaona wakushaya mari yekubhadhara rent ziva kuti nevana varikutofa nenzara.
I am being attacked by the Devil because of preaching the word and many enemies are after my downfall, but I will not give up.
I have not been meeting God for talks for some time, besides that, God does not give us money but power to heal and raise the dead.
