The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Affairs has confirmed that the Zimbabwe mission in Sudan was attacked in the ongoing fighting in the country.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Livit Mugejo told <a href="https://www.chronicle.co.zw/zimbabwe-embassy-in-sudan-attacked/">State media</a> that property at the Embassy was destroyed.
He also said the attack happened after Zimbabwe had successfully evacuated its citizens back home. Mugejo said:

I can confirm that our properties in Sudan were destroyed by some of the fighting forces in the country taking advantage that we evacuated our people and the current war going on there.
We have reports that most countries’ properties were also targeted. It’s sheer criminality taking advantage of the war to loot the property of our diplomats and embassy there.
This is an unfortunate incident that is currently happening in Sudan.

Govt Confirms Attack On Zimbabwe Embassy In Sudan

The home of Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Sudan, Hilda Mafudze, was ransacked by insurgents who stole valuables belonging to the diplomat.
In a statement, Sudan’s foreign ministry condemned the attack and urged the international community to speak out against the attack. Reads the statement:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns in the strongest terms the rapid support militia’s storming of the embassy and the home of the Zimbabwean ambassador, and the theft of valuables, in flagrant violation of international norms and laws concerned with the sanctity and protection of the headquarters and property of diplomatic missions.
The Ministry calls on the international community to condemn the terrorist and criminal behaviour of the militia.

It is, however, not clear if the Zimbabwean diplomat was at home or she was away.

Sudanese Insurgents Loot Zimbabwe Ambassador’s Home

The Sudanese paramilitary force, Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has accused the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan of violating a ceasefire agreement between the warring parties.
The factions of Sudan’s military agreed to renew a three-day ceasefire for another 72 hours, shortly before it was due to expire.
The ceasefire had been expected to end at midnight local time on Thursday.
The ceasefire was to enable civilians access to much-needed necessities and to facilitate their evacuation.
However, in a statement released this Saturday, the RSF said the SAF had violated the agreement in its quest to organize a violent coup. Reads <a href="https://twitter.com/RSFSudan/status/1652293828307451905?s=20">the statement</a>:

Despite pledging to uphold a temporary humanitarian ceasefire, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) continues to bombard residential areas in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum from the air and with heavy artillery.
SAF General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan is persisting with his attempt to organize a violent coup with the aid of extremists from the Muslim Brotherhood linked to former Sudanese dictator and military officer Omar al-Bashir.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) remains firmly committed to the ceasefire. We are working to open safe corridors for Sudanese citizens, residents, and non-residents, to afford them access to much-needed necessities, and to facilitate their evacuation.
We again underscore the RSF’s commitment to democracy, human rights, and the establishment of a civilian government. The RSF will continue to work as a stabilizing force in Sudan, countering any efforts by the Muslim Brotherhood to usurp power.
We urge citizens to ignore the numerous baseless rumors and disinformation propagated by former members of the al-Bashir regime, which are aimed at instilling fear in the population.

Foreign nations have been urging their citizens to leave the country as soon as possible.
Evacuations are continuing, but many foreigners are still stuck in Sudan.
Local civilians are continuing to flee the capital, Khartoum where there are problems with supplies of food, water, and fuel.
According to <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-65414838">BBC News</a>, at least 512 people have been killed in the fighting and almost 4 200 injured, although the real number of deaths could be much higher.
Fighting in Sudan broke out on 15 April as the result of a bitter power struggle between the regular army (SAF) and RSF.

Sudanese Paramilitary Force Accuses Regular Army Of Violating Ceasefire Agreement

The President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), Chief Fortune Charumbira, has urged the two warring camps in the Sudan conflict to lay down their arms and resolve their differences through mediation and dialogue.
Heavy fighting erupted in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and in other parts of the country on Saturday between regular soldiers and members of a paramilitary force – Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
United Nations envoy Volker Perthes said that at least 185 people have been killed and over 1 800 wounded since the fighting erupted.
The two sides in the Sudan conflict are using tanks, artillery and other heavy weapons in densely populated areas.
In a recent statement, Charumbira called for dialogue between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary force to prevent any further loss of life. Reads the statement:

In that regard, the Pan African Parliament implores all parties involved to settle their differences through mediation and dialogue to prevent any further loss of invaluable Sudanese lives and work towards the restoration of lasting peace and stability in the country and the region.

Charumbira, who is the President of the Chief’s Council of Zimbabwe, was recently reported for indecent assault by his married niece who is a teacher at a school in Masvingo.
He allegedly sexually abused his 27-year-old married niece on two occasions.

The RSF was formed in 2013 and has intervened in conflicts in Yemen and Libya and is accused of brutality.

13 protestors were reportedly killed when Sudan’s security forces stormed a protest camp in the capital, Khartoum to drive them out.
The soldiers are said to have fired at unarmed protestors, intending to drive them out of the camp which was the epicentre of the protests that brought down Omar al Bashir.
Protestors had refused to vacate the camp, demanding that the soldiers who took over from Al Bashir should hand over power to a civilian authority.
Reports indicate that during the military offensive carried out on Monday, 13 people were killed while 116 were wounded.
However, military council’s spokesman, Lieutenant General Shams El Din Kabbashi denied that the protest camp had been dispersed. He said:
<blockquote>The protest camp has not been dispersed. The security forces were trying to disperse unruly (elements) in the Colombia area, near the protest site, and some of these elements fled to the protest site and caused this chaos.</blockquote>
The British ambassador in Khartoum said that he heard heavy gunfire for more than an hour from his residence and he was extremely concerned.
After the military crackdown, protestors reportedly poured into the streets in Khartoum and its twin city of Omdurman and blocked roads with rocks and burning tires after news of the raid spread.

Sudanese Soldiers Open Fire On Protestors, 13 Killed

The head of Sudan’s ruling Transitional Military Council has resigned in a speech broadcast live on state television.
General Awad Ibn Auf, named Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Burhan as his successor.
In his resignation speech, Ibn Auf said his resignation was meant to benefit the Sudanese nation. He said:
<blockquote>I, the head of the military council, announce I am giving up the post.
This is for the benefit of our nation, without having to look at special interests, big or small that may impede its progress.
I would like to recommend that you work together and reach a solution very speedily.</blockquote>
According to the Qatari-based Television network, Al Jazeera correspondent, Hiba Morgan, the crowds celebrated in the streets after the announcement by Ibn Auf. She said:
<blockquote>People are celebrating on the streets; they are saying that they managed to topple President Omar al-Bashir after four months of protests and less than 48 hours after the military council took over, they managed to bring down Ibn Auf, too.</blockquote>
The new leader, Burhan was due to address the Sudanese public on Saturday. Said, Morgan:
<blockquote>The protesters are waiting to see what kind of vision and plan Burhan has, [in order] to see if he is going to be the person they would want to represent them during the transition period, or whether they should continue with their sit-in.</blockquote>
