Police in Masvingo have arrested a 19-year-old Form Four student following a fatal stabbing incident involving a fellow student.
The suspect allegedly used an okapi knife to stab the victim in the stomach.
The altercation reportedly stemmed from a dispute in which the suspect accused the deceased of assaulting his younger brother. Police said:

Police in Masvingo arrested a form four student (19) in connection with a case of murder which occurred near a High School in Masvingo on 03/02/25.
The suspect stabbed another form four student (18) with an okapi knife on the stomach after an argument.
The suspect had accused the victim of assaulting his young brother.

The victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local clinic in Zimuto.

Form Four Student Fatally Stabs Another With An Okapi Knife

Three assailants fatally stabbed a 39-year-old man from Lower Gweru in a revenge attack on Christmas Eve.
Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the ZRP spokesperson for Midlands Province, confirmed the incident which occurred around 11 PM.
The victim, Nqobizitha Mazibuko, was attacked along a dusty road leading from Madigane Business Centre in Madigane Village, under Chief Sogwala. Said Mahoko:

Mazibuko’s assailants, identified as Thabani Mpofu, Nqabutho Bhebhe, and Nkosilathi, confronted him about a past assault, seeking revenge. Despite Mazibuko’s attempt to flee, the suspects chased after him and fatally stabbed him.

An eyewitness attempted to intervene and save Mazibuko from the attack but was unable to do so. Said Mahoko:

The suspects fled the scene, leaving Mazibuko lying on the road. Mazibuko’s body was discovered around 5 AM on Christmas Day.

Mahoko said police officers from Maboleni responded to the scene and are currently investigating the incident.

A 39-year-old man named Nqobizitha Mazibuko was stabbed to death by three people in a revenge attack on Christmas Eve in Lower Gweru. The attackers, Thabani Mpofu, Nqabutho Bhebhe, and Nkosilathi, chased Mazibuko and killed him even though he tried to run away. An eyewitness tried to help but couldn't stop the attack. The attackers ran away, leaving Mazibuko's body on the road. The police are now investigating the incident.

Lower Gweru Man (39) Killed By 3 Assailants In Revenge Attack

A 29-year-old man from Rujeko C in Masvingo was on July 27, 2024, fatally stabbed in a kombi altercation involving two women and some men.
The ZRP spokesperson for Masvingo Province, Kudakwashe Dhewa, confirmed the murder of Nyararayi Siyavizwa to <a href="https://x.com/TellZimbabwe/status/1818536664504865017">TellZim News</a>. Dhewa said three suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident. He said:

I can confirm the murder of Siyavizwa (29) and three suspects have since been arrested in line with the case.
We call upon members of the public to desist from resolving disputes using violence. At no point shall violence substitute dialogue.

It is alleged that Siyavizwa, along with his two friends Tinotenda Mateo (19) and Andrew Chapwanya (20), boarded a commuter omnibus (Toyota Hiace) on their way home from the Chibuku Neshamwari Festival held at Mucheke Stadium on July 27, 2024.
During the journey, Siyavizwa became embroiled in an altercation with three other passengers in the kombi – Alouis Charles Dhangu Madembo (25) from Vanyoro Village, Chief Nyakunhuwa in Zaka, Rosemary Gave (29) from Garapasi village in Chirumhanzi, Masvingo, and Viola Linia Tasara (34) from Musovi Village, Chief Nemauzhe in Chivi.
When the group disembarked the kombi at the intersection of Corner Kelvin Majange Street and Enard Manyimo Gutsa, it is alleged that one of the accused individuals grabbed Siyavizwa while another stabbed him just below the collarbone with a sharp object. The perpetrators then fled the scene.
Siyavizwa’s friends, Mateo and Chapwanya, tried to assist, but were unable to stop the bleeding, leading to Siyavizwa’s death at the location.
They subsequently reported the incident to the police, resulting in the arrest of Madembo, Gave and Tasara.

A man from Masvingo was killed in a fight on a minibus. The police caught three people in connection with the murder. The man, along with his friends, got into an argument with other passengers in the minibus. When they got off the minibus, one of the passengers stabbed the man. His friends tried to help, but he died from the stab wound. The friends reported the incident to the police, and three suspects were arrested. The police advise people to not solve arguments with violence.

Masvingo Man Fatally Stabbed In Kombi Altercation

A Police detective stationed at CID Mwenezi has appeared at the Karoi Magistrates’ Court facing allegations of murder, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has said.
The brief facts of the case are that the accused person, Farai Simudzirai (42) was drinking beer with Mirirai Chiweza on 21 April 2024 in a Karoi nightclub where the now-deceased Police officer, Privillege Hove was also drinking.
It is further alleged that a dispute ensued as a result of a misunderstanding between Simudzirai and other patrons. Chiweza then brought Simudzirai outside the club to prevent him from disputing with other drinkers.
While outside, the accused began attacking Chiweza and the now-deceased, Hove attempted to stop him.
Simudzirai allegedly drew an okapi knife from his pocket and stabbed Hove once in the stomach before vanishing into the darkness. Hove died upon admission at Sally Mugabe Hospital in Harare.
The accused person was remanded in custody to 8 May 2024 and was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

"Drunk" CID Officer Fatally Stabs Fellow Officer At A Nightclub

Police in Midlands Province have launched a manhunt for a man who fatally stabbed a 20-year-old rival suitor with a knife following a misunderstanding over a girl.
The incident occurred in Silobela under Chief Malisa area on Thursday at around 5 PM.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Midlands Province confirmed the indent to the <a href="https://www.chronicle.co.zw/president-mnangagwa-to-officially-open-the-56th-session-of-un-economic-commission-for-africa-conference-on-finance-ministers-with-focus-on-inclusive-green-economies/">Chronicle</a>. He said:

I can confirm that the police are investigating the murder of a man who died on admission at Nkayi District Hospital after he was stabbed with an okapi knife. He said:
Both, the now-deceased Narvel Ndlovu and the suspect in the matter, Nkosikhona Ncube (20) hail from Rungu Village under Chief Malisa in Silobela.
It is alleged, they had a misunderstanding over a girl. The dispute degenerated into a fight.

Ncube allegedly drew a knife from his pocket and stabbed Ndlovu once in the neck. Said Insp Mahoko:

20-year-old Man Fatally Stabbed In Dispute Over A Girl

Police in Harare have arrested a 16-year-old girl for killing a 35-year-old man with a kitchen wife following a misunderstanding during a beer-drinking binge in Hatcliffe.
In a statement on Thursday, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the juvenile fatally stabbed Amos Mhere with a knife in the chest on Wednesday around 9.30 PM. Police said:

On 02/11/22, ZRP Borrowdale arrested a 16-year-old girl for murder which occurred on 2/11/22 at around 2130 hours at the suspect’s residence at Premier Park, Hatcliffe, Harare.
The victim, Amos Mhere (35) died on the spot after being stabbed in the chest with a kitchen knife following a misunderstanding during a beer-drinking spree at a shebeen in Hatcliffe.

In an unrelated incident, Police in Harare arrested a woman for car theft after she hired a vehicle from a car rental company located at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport before selling it for US$4 000.
The suspect, Barbra Vimbai Chitisuro, was nabbed after selling the Honda Fit vehicle to a car dealer in Harare who then put the vehicle on display. ZRP said:

On 02/11/22, Police in Harare arrested Barbra Vimbai Chitisuro in connection with a case of theft of a motor vehicle that occurred in Harare, where she allegedly sold a Honda Fit vehicle (AFS 4457) which she had hired from a car rental company located at RGMI Airport.
The suspect had hired the car for a week and used a fake vehicle registration book to sell the car for US$4000 to a Harare car dealer. Police have since recovered the vehicle, which was on display at the car dealer’s garage.

Girl (16) Fatally Stabs Man (35) At Shebeen

A 25-year-old Kwekwe-based Zimdancehall artiste, Dollar Vibes, was stabbed to death on Friday following a misunderstanding with his former wife.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Midlands Province, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the death of the artiste, whose real name is Gilbert Foya.
Insp Mahoko said the tragic incident occurred early morning on Friday at Mbizo Shopping Centre. He said:

The victim, Gilbert Foya, a man aged 25 died after he was stabbed all over the body by another unknown man for assaulting his ex-wife.
</blockquote>
Insp Mahoko said Foya and his ex-wife Chipo Phiri, (24) were drinking beer at Mbizo Nightclub.
A misunderstanding arose between the estranged couple over the upkeep of their three-year-old baby and the two then went outside the night club trying to solve the matter. Added Insp Mahoko:

While outside, it is said that Gilbert Foya was seen assaulting Chipo Phiri and a man disembarked from a nearby black Honda Fit armed with a knife.
He charged toward Foya and allegedly stabbed him several times all over the body before driving away.
