Businessman <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Shingi_Munyeza">Shingi Munyeza</a> and his wife, Wilma, were spared jail by the High Court last Friday after their former neighbour they owe US$100 000 filed an application to have them imprisoned.
<a href="https://www.zimlive.com/munyeza-wife-wilma-spared-jail-in-race-to-repay-us100000-loan/">ZimLive </a>reported that business executive Marjorie Mutemererwa had told the court that Munyeza was in default of an earlier court ruling directing that he pays five equal installments of US$22 000, including legal fees, by 30 January 2024.
However, High Court Judge Justice Samuel Deme dismissed the application, finding that Munyeza was complying with the payment order
Mutemererwa alleged that Munyeza, who paid his first installment in September, had only paid US$7 315 in October.
This was disputed by Munyeza’s lawyer who argued that the remainder of US$14 685 was with the High Court Sheriff, proceeds of the sale of his vehicle which was seized.
Justice Deme accepted Munyeza’s explanation and ruled that he was not in default, and there was no reason to send the former pastor to jail.
The next installment of US$22 000 is due by 30 November 2023.
Mutemererwa, who was Munyeza’s neighbour in Borrowdale Brooke, sued the former pastor in March this year after he failed to pay back a US$85 000 loan.
Munyeza and his wife borrowed the money on 21 January 2023 and promised to return US$100 000 by the end of January.
Munyeza, however, failed to pay back the money prompting the complainant to report the matter to the police who arrested him.
The couple are also indebted to a Zambian micro-finance lender which has seized their US$1 million house and movable properties.

Shingi Munyeza, Wife Wilma Spared Jail Over US$100 000 Loan

Shingi Munyeza has been reported to the police for threatening a creditor he owes US$100,000 and boasting that he is a member of the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) which advises President Emmerson Mnangagwa. 
It is alleged that on August 9, 2023, Marjorie Mutemererwa accompanied by the Sherriff and her lawyer, visited Munyeza’s residence in Borrowdale Brooke to serve him with two summons: one for civil imprisonment if he failed to repay the debt and another involving the attachment of his cars. Initially, Munyeza refused to open the gate but eventually opened it upon advice from his own lawyer.
During the encounter, Munyeza allegedly belittled, lectured, and bullied Mutemererwa’s lawyer, claiming that he was untouchable as a presidential advisor. Mutemererwa said:

On August 9, the Sheriff and my lawyer arrived at Shingi’s residence and he refused to open his gate.
My lawyer called him and Shingi then called his own lawyer who in turn advised him to open the gate.
Shingi started belittling and lecturing and bullying my lawyer telling him that he is a small boy who should just sit down.
He said he (Munyeza) is a presidential advisor and is untouchable. The Sheriff went ahead and served the summons.

Subsequently, Mutemererwa’s lawyer filed a police report against Munyeza.
The dispute originated from Mutemererwa, ex-SeedCo public relations manager, lending the Munyezas US$85,000 from her retirement package, with an agreement for repayment plus interest of US$15,000. When the Munyezas failed to fulfil their part of the agreement, Mutemererwa resorted to legal action.
Harare High Court judge David Mangota instructed Munyeza and his wife, Wilma, to repay the debt of US$100,000 owed to Mutemererwa.

Shingi Munyeza Boasts Of Being A Presidential Advisor During Row Over US$100,000 Debt

The High Court has ordered businessman Shingi Munyeza and his wife Wilma to pay a US$100 000 debt they owe former SeedCo public relations manager Marjorie Mutemererwa, reported <a href="https://www.newzimbabwe.com/businessman-shingi-munyeza-wife-ordered-to-pay-back-us100k-debt/">NewZimbabwe.com</a>.
High Court judge Justice David Mangota sitting at the Harare High Court recently ruled that the Munyezas should pay the money including interest. Reads the order:
<blockquote>
It is ordered that judgement be and is hereby entered in favour of the Plaintiff. Defendants be and are hereby ordered to jointly or severally and in solidium the one paying the other to be absolved to pay US$100 000 being a refund of money lent and advanced to the defendants.
</blockquote>
Mutemererwa sued the couple in March this year for refusing to pay back a loan that she gave them in January 2023.
In her summons, Mutemererwa said the Munyezas had failed to repay the loan despite making several promises to do so. Reads the summons:

The amount payable by the Plaintiff has become due and payable to her because the Defendants failed to settle the disbursed and acknowledged amount of US$85 000 plus the acknowledged interest of US$15 000 to give a total of US$100 000.
The Plaintiff has made several demands met with several promises to pay by the defendants which promises have not materialised to the date of this summons.
The Plaintiff seeks legal costs on a higher scale in order to recoup her loss and not be put out of pocket by the Defendants default of repayment.

Munyeza runs several franchise outlets in Harare including Mugg n Bean, Ocean Basket and KFC.

Munyeza, Wife Ordered To Repay US$85 000 Loan, Plus US$15 000 Interest

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Shingi_Munyeza">Shingi Munyeza</a>, a Zimbabwean businessman has been arrested for allegedly defrauding a Harare woman of US$85 000.
Munyeza was arrested this Friday night on allegations that the clergyman defrauded a woman of some US$85 000 she had received as a severance package from her former employer.
The incident happened in January this year, <a href="https://zbcnews.co.zw/2023/03/04/shingi-munyeza-arrested-for-us85-000-fraud/">ZBC News</a> reported citing officials from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP). 
Munyeza allegedly convinced the complainant to give him the money as an investment while promising to return US$100 000 by the end of January.
Munyeza, however, failed to pay back the money prompting the complainant to report the matter to the police who arrested him. 
Munyeza currently runs several franchise outlets in Harare including Mugg n Bean, Ocean Basket and KFC.

Shingi Munyeza Arrested Over Fraud Involving US$85 000

Zimbabwean preacher, Shingi Munyeza has been ousted from the Zimpapers Board following a spate of sermons criticising President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government.
ZimLive reports that Munyeza dropped together with Rejoice Nharaunda and Karen Dube, Robert Mugabe-era board members who had been reappointed in 2019 when the current Zimpapers board was installed.
Munyeza was drafted into the Zimpapers with six others, Primrose Ruvarashe Kurasha, Sibyl Madzikanda, Tsungai Chibvongodze, Tatenda Chiweshe, Ladson Mhango and Tommy Sithole.
Speaking to ZimLive, an anonymous source said:
<blockquote>_The regime is paranoid ahead of elections in 2023 and they want people they can trust in strategic positions. Munyeza, Nharaunda and Dube could not be trusted._</blockquote>
Nharaunda confirmed her departure from Zimpapers while Munyeza declined to answer to ZimLive questions. Dube could not be reached.
Deputy information minister Kindness Paradza said he had no comment adding that if the ouster of Munyeza and others happens “am sure it should be above board.”
The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services is reportedly lining up three replacements, including two officials from Zimstats and NetOne.
Munyeza, who now faces the prospect of being frozen out of the Presidential Advisory Committee appointed by Mnangagwa, has used the pulpit to criticise Mnangagwa’s economic policies and human rights record, describing his regime as an “oppressive occult.”
The preacher was forced to take a sabbatical from social media and from pastoring at his Faith Ministries Church in January this year after his daughter exposed him for cheating on his wife.

Prominent Harare-based businessman and former pastor <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Shingi_Munyeza" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Shingi Munyeza</a> has announced his return to social media after a four months-long sabbatical.
Munyeza, who is a member of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) and coincidentally a government critic, quit social media in January this year after a fallout with his daughter Nomsa over cheating allegations.
Munyeza’s cheating scandal blew on his face in the public domain after his only daughter Nomsa publicly challenged her father after he had posted a message saying he loved his wife and would love to be with her forever after 26 years of marriage.
Nomsa posted a message, saying her father was fake as he couldn’t say happy anniversary to her mother or his wife when he had cheated on her and then left her (the daughter) fatherless.
At the time, Munyeza announced that he stepping down from his pastoral role at Faith Ministries Church due to a moral failure.
He did not reveal the nature of his moral failure and it is debatable whether he would have made the confession if he had not been exposed by his daughter.

Shingi Munyeza Returns To Social Media

Prominent Harare-based pastor and businessman <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Shingi_Munyeza" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Shingi Munyeza</a> has announced that he was stepping down from his pastoral role at Faith Ministries Church due to a moral failure.
Munyeza, who is a member of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) and coincidentally a government critic, announced his resignation from leading the church in a Facebook post on Tuesday night. He said:
<blockquote>Recently, I allowed myself into a situation where I fell morally. I failed my wife and family, I failed the church that I am part of.
I, therefore, seek your forgiveness. I’m stepping down to introspect and be restored. I covet your prayers and support. God bless you all.</blockquote>
Munyeza also quoted a Bible verse, 2 Corinthians 4:7, which reads, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” He also wrote:
<blockquote>I FAILED. LEADERS MUST NEVER BE SPARED WHEN THEY FAIL! THE WHOLE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE INDIVIDUAL! I WILL RISE AGAIN!”</blockquote>

Shingi Munyeza Admits To Cheating On His Wife

Zanu-PF online based crusader – Matigari has dared Harare preacher Dr Shingi Munyeza to resign from the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) which the clergyman regards as an “occult.”
This comes when Munyeza has joined several other people who have been criticising the President Mnangagwa-led administration over bad governance and human rights violations.
Matigari also speaks when Alex Magaisa, the former Chief of Staff in the office of the former Prime Minister – the late Morgan Tsvangirai, had labelled Munyeza an “enabler” of the state.
Magaisa who is also a law lecturer in the United Kingdom said the preacher was openly criticising Mnangagwa and was not being harassed like other government critics because he was enabling the regime.
In response to Matigari’s challenge, Munyeza said he was invited to join PAC by its principal and will “remain resolute”.
His remarks suggested that he will not be resigning from PAC, an avenue some say is his means of getting material wealth from the state.
Matigari’s remarks also echoed those of many who advised Munyeza to quit PAC if he genuinely meant what he says against the Mnangagwa led administration.

ZANU-PF Crusader Dares Munyeza To Resign From Advising Mnangagwa

The youth league of the ruling ZANU PF has accused Harare preacher, Shingi Munyeza of receiving ZANU PF regalia with intentions to use them in violence activities to dirt the party’s name.
Munyeza who is also an advisor to President Mnangagwa in the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) however dismissed the reports as lies. ZANU PF posted on Twitter saying:
<blockquote>Mr <a class="link-complex" data-user-name="ShingiMunyeza" href="https://twitter.com/ShingiMunyeza/" rel="noopener user noreferrer" target="_blank">@ShingiMunyeza</a> we know you received from Lawrence Tembedza ×3 ninety kg sacks of <a class="link-complex" data-user-name="ZANUPF_Official" href="https://twitter.com/ZANUPF_Official/" rel="noopener user noreferrer" target="_blank">@ZANUPF_Official</a> T-shirts. Since when have you been a party member? STOP distributing our party regalia for violence. We are aware you seek to discredit &amp; bring our party’s name to disrepute.</blockquote>
In response Munyeza who has of late been critical of the president Mnangagwa led administration said:
<blockquote>Dear <a class="link-complex" data-user-name="ZANU_PF_YL" href="https://twitter.com/ZANU_PF_YL/" rel="noopener user noreferrer" target="_blank">@ZANU_PF_YL</a> none of my businesses need such apparel, there is no market to sell such apparel anywhere in the world. In our church we have members of all political parties including party officials, Councillors &amp; MPs, therefore we pursue non-partisan approach to party regalia.</blockquote>
The allegations are made ahead of the planned anti-government protests scheduled for this Friday which ZANU PF vowed to stop.

Pastor Shingi Munyeza Has Been Accused Of Intending To Distribute ZANU PF Regalia For Violence Activities

Pastor Shingi Munyeza who advises president Mnangagwa in the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) has said civil servants must be paid in United States dollars.
Munyeza said if the government can import modern vehicles using United States dollars, surely it can pay workers in foreign currency.
He speaks when workers are embarking on protests over poor salaries and working conditions.

"If Govt Can Import Luxurious Vehicles, It Can Pay Workers In US$" - ED's Advisor

A member of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Presidential Advisory Council (PAC), Shingi Munyeza says the ZANU PF government is incapable of finding a solution to Zimbabwe’s problems as it was responsible for plunging the country into the mess it is in.
The pastor and businessman made the remarks while speaking during an interview with HStv in Harare on Tuesday. He said:
<blockquote>When you have no food, you have no water, when your kids can’t go to school when there is disease on your doorstep and you don’t have money it’s a perfect storm, so it dismantles itself because the leadership that brought it there is not capable of actually taking it out of there.
It can’t, because, if it was able, we wouldn’t be where we are, the systems that took it to where were are going or where we are about to plunge into right now is incapable of taking us out of it so we need new blood, new wineskins and that’s why I am calling for the young people to start climbing in and make sure that they take their place.</blockquote>
Munyeza added that the whole system should be dealt with and not individuals as happened during the November 2017 military coup.

President Mnangagwa's Advisor Says The Entire ZANU PF System Must Go

Dr Shingi Munyeza a member of the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) has claimed that corruption in Zimbabwe starts with political elites and the culture cascades down to the general populace.
He was responding to Pedzisai Ruhanya who had applauded Munyeza for stating that corruption was already sinking Zimbabwe when coronavirus emerged. Ruhanya added that “at the heart of the rot is the party/state/military complex” hence the need to address leadership issue if the country’s economic crisis is to be resolved.
In response, Munyeza said:

<blockquote>I agree that this corruption starts right at the top and makes all of us either culpable or complicit. Be need to reboot and reset starting with leadership across the board.</blockquote>
Zimbabwe is ranked among the countries with the highest rates of corruption globally. When President Mnangagwa ascended to power in 2017, he acknowledged that there was rampant corruption and embarked on an anti-corruption campaign that saw him instituting a new Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) which he later gave arresting powers.
Mnangagwa’s critics, however, say that the Commission has so far targeted “small fish” leaving out “sharks” and has been catching and releasing corruption suspects while those convicted are Mnangagwa’s political enemies.

Faith Ministries pastor and businessman Shingi Munyeza has urged Zanu PF and the MDC to dialogue.
He urged Zanu PF and MDC to put their differences aside and focus on nation building. Munyeza told the Daily News that pastors are currently working with the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) to facilitate the national healing process. Said Munyeza:
<blockquote>The Church has always been ready to engage, dialogue, mediate and lead on national issues when called upon to do so. We are therefore pleading with the political players to put Zimbabweans first in their aspirations so we move the country forward on all fronts. Nothing stops the church to be on the fore front, we have done it in the past. Our role is always to bring warring parties to the table, engage, dialogue, mediate and reconcile. At the moment we are working closely with the NPRC on national healing.</blockquote>

Shingi Munyeza Urges Zanu PF And MDC To Dialogue

Prominent businessman and clergyman Dr. Shingi Munyeza has spoken out against government ministers for looting national resources at the expense of the general population. Munyeza was commenting on the latest cabinet reshuffle.
Writing in his  Watchman series Munyeza quoted Ezekiel 34:1-4 which reads
<blockquote>Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, “Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds: ‘Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? YOU eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock. 1. It’s time the church snaps out of divination and sorcery and charlatan practices under the guise of miracles, signs and wonders. This practice and behavior has brought more pain and cultic behavior amongst the Christians and resentment from non-believers. 
2. It’s time the church applied our God-given talents to develop ourselves and those around us instead of pursuing instant gains based on the current heretical teachings of sowing a seed which only enriches a few and impoverishes the rest. 
3. It’s time the church reconsiders our consumptive behavior of unending conferences whilst our people continue to languish in poverty. That money could have been used to build schools, hospitals and looking after widows and orphans which is good religion. It’s good that we gather but we have been excessive on this consumptive behavior. 
4. It’s time christians started giving to a cause instead of an individual. The practice of giving to an individual and expecting from the same individual is un-Christlike. Our source must always be God and not man. Please be alert to the cunning, trickery used by the church leadership to extort your money for their own personal benefit. Only give where there is accountability. 
5. It’s time Prophets, Pastors, Evangelists, Apostles, Teachers, man and women of God adopted servanthood leadership and serve God’s people without seeking recognition or reward. We must stop this robbery and abuse of those who look up to us. Let’s also use our own hands to earn a living, times are tough for everyone. STOP THE EXCESSIVE DEMANDS ON OUR PEOPLE SO YOU CAN LIVE LAVISH LIFESTYLES AT THEIR EXPENSE.

Shingi Munyeza says its time up for Church leaders who live lavish lifestyles at the expense of their followers

Shingi Munyeza has urged Zimbabweans to register to vote and be part of the leadership transformation that is coming. He lists Biblical points that changed the course of history such as the floods during Noah’s time, the birth of Isaac and the blessing of Jacob. He also says that Zimbabwe is reaching the fullness of time. The full post reads:

The Bible has various points which changed the course of history and transformed a generation and gave birth to a new dispensation 
• From the floods during Noah’s time to the birth of Isaac, to the blessing on Jacob, to the rise of Joseph as governor of Egypt, to Moses delivering the children of Israel to David rising to the throne at Hebron, to Solomon becoming king after a complex succession struggle with his brother Adonijah, to the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. 
• There is never a convenient time to bring about the generational paradigm shift except to say when it happens as the perfect time. 
• When time had come for Jesus to be born it didn’t matter that there was no room at the inn, He had to be born at that time in a small town of Bethlehem. 
• An innocent virgin girl had to be used to bring this ultimate redemption plan into motion. 
• Well it suffices to say that Zimbabwe has entered into an election season and the countdown begins. The ruling party has set its wheels in motion and the main opposition party have begun to do the same. The other smaller political parties have agreed on a coalition and started the journey of campaigning. At the moment we have 26 registered political parties. And there is a distant noise about a third way or even a fourth way. 
• All I can say is that the 2018 election will be more significant than the 2008 election. they will usher in a new era in our political history as well as our destiny as a nation. 
• It would be irresponsible fora Zimbabwean of voting age not to register and participate in this crucial destiny changing moment. It does not matter whether you are at home or in the diaspora, even Mary and Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem although the most sensible thing was to stay at home. 
• Many are looking forward to an evening of the playing field by those already in power, this is wishful thinking because there is never anyone in power who would be silly enough to transform themselves out of power. In my scriptural allegory, Caesar Augustus could not be bothered that May was nearly due to give birth and that the inn would be fully booked and that no one had the kindness a allow a first time pregnant young women to give birth in a safe environment. Let those who are participating in this landmark election not be fooled to think there will be an even playing field! 
• Get ready to play in an uneven playing field and knowing that to win this time you have to be on the right side of history.
