The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/market/samsung-galaxy-a06-64gb-4gb-22-202411196269940393/">Galaxy A06</a>, the latest in Samsung’s lower entry-level phones is now available in Zimbabwe.
Released globally in August this year, in the Galaxy lineup the A06 replaces the A05 which was released around this time in 2023 (the A05 itself replaced the A04 released in August 2022).
The A0 series is Samsung’s most affordable smartphone coming with enough specs to do all the basic stuff. But don’t let that deceive into thinking these are unusable smartphones. They are solid basics 😎
<h2>The specs:</h2>
– a large 6.7-inch display (this is a big phone as most phones are either 6.5 or 6.6. inches) 
– A Helio G85 processor 
– Android 14 (2 OS upgrades promised – 4 years of security updates) 
– 4G network 
– Dual SIM – made for the Global South! 
– 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging (this is impressive, most phones at this price come with 18W) 
– Fingerprint on the power button (good upgrade from the A05 which didn’t have a fingerprint sensor at all) 
– 50 Megapixel main camera plus a 2MP depth camera 
– 8 Megapixel selfie camera
Though not the fastest processor, there is some decent performance here from that Helio 85 SoC. At the $110 price point, this is the fastest a processor can get. It beats phones from Tecno, Infinix, and itel in the same price range. Only other phone we have seen with this processor at the price is <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/market/xiaomi-redmi-13c-22-20241004133718792956/">Redmi 13C</a>.
<h2>Pricing:</h2>
The phone comes in 3 flavours, with all specs the same except for the storage and RAM: 
– 64GB storage with 4GB RAM going for $110 
– 128GB storage with 4GB RAM going for $120 
– $128GB storage and 6GB RAM going for $140
We think the best deal here is that 128GB with 4GB RAM. An additional $20 for just 2GB RAM feels a tad expensive! Besides, you’re already not buying this phone for it’s speed so more RAM isn’t exactly going to improve peformance significantly. It’s always the processor that has the biggest impact on performance.

The latest Samsung Galaxy A06 phone is now available in Zimbabwe. It is a basic phone with good features like a big 6.7-inch display and a Helio G85 processor. It has a 5000mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor. The phone comes in different storage and RAM options. It is not the fastest phone, but it performs well for its price. It is good for people who want a decent phone but don't want to spend a lot of money. The phone is not 5G compatible and is not suitable for heavy gaming. It comes in black, blue, and gold colors.

Latest Samsung Galaxy A06 Now Available In Zimbabwe

<h2>A note from our market</h2>
We now have Samsung and Redmi phones available for purchase on Pindula. Here’s some background on this:
Since we started retailing mobile phones, we shied away from selling phones not made by Transsion (itel, Tecno,Infinix). These were the reasons:
– Transsion offers 12 months warranty
– Maintenance for Transsion phones can happen easily as original parts are available locally
– Transsion phones are guaranteed to be brand new
As a result, we would only sell Samsung, Huawei, Redmi…etc phones here and there if a customer insisted and we could source.
<h2>Our approach</h2>
Ultimately, with mobile phones here’s our approach:
– We charge a fair price to make it as affordable as our business can sustain. Our prices are typically very low – so low that sometimes customers ask us if the devices are fake 🤔.  Ofcourse these are genuine,  it’s just that other retailers muHarare umu will hit people with 100% profit on a phone😨
– We want you to be happy with the phone – on the day you buy, a week later, a month, 6 months, a year later… We want our customers to feel really glad that we, as a business, exist
<h2>Given this background, here’s what we’re learning:</h2>
Fans of Itel and Tecno are really happy, yes…. but those of you who prefer the other brands (and will not be caught dead using an Itel!😁) feel left out. You tell us something along the lines of:
<blockquote>“I have been on Pindula since you guys started and I love being part of this community… but I prefer Samsung, so I have to look elsewhere for a phone!”</blockquote>
We’re also finding that people using Samsung, Huawei etc… actually understand 12-month manufacturer warranty is not on the table and they are generally ok with this. People receive phones from the diaspora, and they already know warranty haipo.
There are people that do not mind refurbished phones as long as the seller is clear with them about this and can offer a backup service for the phone. What people hate are sellers who lie about it.
So, starting last week we started to make available some Samsung and Redmi devices. Our warranty for these devices is 6 months. The warranty is backed by Pindula and not by the manufacturer. We cover the phone fully if it turns out to be faulty. Of course, we will not cover dropping or liquid damage. We’ll replace it or have it fixed for free.
The phone is also backed by what our customers already know about Pindula:
– If you’re not happy (a day in, a week in, a year) we will work hard to solve the problem. And we will solve it even at a significant cost to us.
– Always the truth. We will never lie to you even if the truth is uncomfortable. There’s just too much lying already in Zim business and politics, and we don’t want to be part of that.

We now have Samsung and Redmi phones available. Here's why

ZESA electricity outages and load-shedding are still a big problem in Zimbabwe, so how long a battery phone lasts is very important. Worse, there are a lot of new residential suburbs where house owners do not have electricity installed at all.
Pindula has compiled a list of phones with the biggest batteries available here in Zimbabwe.
It is important to know however that having the biggest capacity battery does not automatically mean the longest-lasting battery. The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/05/18/tips-taking-care-of-your-phone-battery-so-it-lasts-longer/">battery life is affected by a lot of things</a>. A phone may have a very big battery mAh but poor power management. With Samsungs, for example, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has the same 5,000 mAh size battery as Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it lasts much longer because of its more power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
It is also common for budget mobile phones, such as itel and Tecno, to have higher battery-size lots of inbuilt apps always running that cannot be turned off. This uses more battery.
<h2>Itel P40 (6,000 mAh)</h2>

Its battery comes at 6 000 mAh, the same as its predecessor, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2022/010/05/itel-p38-pro-prices-in-zimbabwe-specs-full-features/">the Itel P38.</a>

The phone is the most expensive in the itel range coming at between $105 and $120. Itel P40 is widely available in Zimbabwe at itel Home shops in Zimbabwe.
<h2>Tecno Pova Neo  (6000 mAh)</h2>
Released in December 2021, the Pova Neo has a large 6000 mAh battery. This phone is still widely available in Zimbabwe compared to its successor, the Pova Neo 2 which was released in October 2022 (the Pova Neo 2 has a 7000 battery).
Tecno claims that the battery can last up to two days on a single charge.

The Tecno Pova 3 comes with a massive 7,000mAh battery. Though not widely available in Zimbabwe, this is a much more capable phone compared to the Neo above. It was released in May 2022.

The Samsung Galaxy M62 is a 7000mAh battery phone released in March 2021. It supports 25W fast charging. The M62 belongs in the group of the few Samsung phones that have 7,000 mAh. The others are the Galaxy F62 (released Feb 2021) and the Galaxy M51 (released September 2020).

Affordable Mobile Phones With The Biggest Batteries

Data from global analytics company <a href="https://gs.statcounter.com/vendor-market-share/mobile/zimbabwe/#monthly-202201-202212-bar">StatCounter</a> shows that Samsung has continued to be the most popular phone brand in Zimbabwe in 2022.
Samsung mobile phones had 33% market share in the country. 
Huawei is a distant second with 21% market share. The third most popular device brand in Zimbabwe is iPhone, the Apple smartphone, which has 13% market share.
The third and Fourth most popular mobile phone brands are Itel and Tecno which have 11% and 6% market share respectively. Other notable but relatively less popular brands include Nokia, Xiaomi, and Infinix.
StatCounter is a web analytics service that claims to calculate stats on the basis of more than 5 billion page views per month, by people from all over the world onto some 1.5 million member sites. it’s one of the few companies globally that collates this data and makes it available to the public.
Given that the method of data collection considers phones that can connect to the internet, this leaves out basic and feature phones which are not designed for internet connectivity. There is some evidence that features phones are quite popular in Zimbabwe. Including them would likely change the ranking.
The picture of the data generally agrees with data from websites in Zimbabwe (specifically, Pindula and Techzim).
<h2>Popular Samsung Phones</h2>
According to that local data, the most popular Samsung phone in Zimbabwe in 2022 was the Samsung A12. This was followed by Samsung A21s, then Samsung A32, then A2 Core, the Samsung 10s, and Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Plus. 
Samsung phones are generally imported into the country as grey imports. These can be brand new as well as refurbished ones. Zimbabweans have generally shied away from buying from official Samsung channels due to high prices.
<h2>Popular Huawei Phones</h2>
As for Huawei, the local data shows that the most popular model in 2022 was the P30 Lite. This is followed by the Y series devices Y9 Prime, Y5 Prime, Y5 Lite and Y7. There is also P20 Lite, P30 Pro, Honour 4x and Y9 but these are relatively less popular.
<h2>Popular Itel Phones</h2>
According to data the most popular Itel phones in Zimbabwe in 2020 include Vision 1 Plus, A16 Plus, A56 Lite (and Pro), P15, and Itel A36. These are itel phones released between 2019 and 2021.
<h2>Popular Tecno Phones</h2>
As for Tecno mobile phones, the most popular are just Spark 7 and Spark 6 Go. Just as with Itel, these are phones from several years ago, showing slow uptake of new releases by both Tecno and Itel.
<h2>Popular Gtel Phones</h2>
Even though Gtel does not show prominently as a popular phone brand in the country as per global stats, some of its models have been popular enough locally to rival the major brand models. Local data suggests that the Gtel Infinity is the most popular Gtel phone in the country. This model is followed by the Infinity 8s.
