A vehicle belonging to a leader of the African Apostolic Church led by <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Paul_Mwazha">Paul Mwazha</a> was burnt to ashes in Mutare the Sunday before last Sunday.
The <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/mwazha-succession-dispute-turns-nasty/">Manica Post</a> reported that the African Apostolic Church now has three factions, with each one of them led by Mwazha’s sons.
Bishop Tekeshe’s Isuzu truck was burnt to ashes at his Fern Valley home, with insiders claiming that it was due to the endless disputes over control of the church.
Tekeshe is reportedly aligned to Bishop Alfred Kushamisa, the Archbishop’s second-born son.
When contacted for comment by The Manica Post, one of the other faction’s leaders, Bishop Moses Mwagura said:

This issue is very clear and you should not have challenges in reporting it. It all started with some people trying to wrestle control of the church from Mutumwa Mwazha.
They were later defeated at the Supreme Court after it was ruled that their actions were unconstitutional.
Now, as time is progressing, we are now witnessing a division between Ngoni, Archbishop Paul Mwazha’s firstborn son and his second-born son, Alfred Kushamisa, known as AK.
They are now up against each other, leading to the nasty destruction of property. This has nothing to do with our church.
We are actually concerned that this is happening to people we used to congregate with.
This is not what we would have expected from people who claim to be Christians and who follow the peaceful word of our Lord.

The three factions are allegedly led by Bishop Alfred Kushamisa Mwazha, Bishop Tawanda Mwazha and Bishop Ngoni Mwazha, respectively.
The divisions within the African Apostolic Church have resulted in the formations appointing their own pastors and leaders while conducting services at different places of worship.

Paul Mwazha Church Bishop's Vehicle Burnt To Ashes

Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care Constantino Chiwenga has commended the African Apostolic Church (AAC) for raising disciplined children.
Chiwenga was speaking to AAC members at the Guvambwa shrine, Sadza growth point, in Wedza on Saturday.
The church, which was founded by Paul Mwazha, does not allow its members to consume alcohol or smoke cigarettes.
Chiwenga said he was happy with the role the African Apostolic Church was playing in nurturing disciplined children. He said:

I am here representing His Excellency, President Mnangagwa, and also on my own behalf as his deputy as per your invitation.
I am happy with the role the African Apostolic Church is playing in nurturing disciplined children.
It is pleasing to see a huge crowd like this, of people who were raised and taught not to drink, smoke or take anything that intoxicates them.
Drugs have destroyed many families. They are of no benefit, they just harm and keep you away from the Lord.
If we do not nurture disciplined children, then the future of the church and indeed the country as a whole is doomed.
</blockquote>
He also lauded the church for its role in emancipating women and uplifting their lives.
Unlike some apostolic sects which suppress women’s right to education and turn a blind eye to child marriages, AAC values women’s education. Said Chiwenga:

I am happy to see that you, as a church, are promoting the rights of women by sending them to school to get their education so that they will have a role to play in the future of our country.
</blockquote>
Bishop Israel Mwazha, who stood in for his father Archbishop Paul Mwazha, assured Chiwenga that the church will continue supporting ZANU PF without wavering. He said:
<blockquote>
President Mnangagwa is leading the country with wisdom. We are seeing a lot of development.
If you look at infrastructure projects in the country, investors are coming to Zimbabwe, growing economic spaces.
We pray for peace in the upcoming elections, and we will not vacillate in our support for ZANU PF.

The African Apostolic Church was founded by Ernest Paul Mamvura Mwazha (born on 25 October 1918).
Mwazha started Roman Catholic Catechism classes at the age of 11 and later joined the Methodist Church and became a teacher with them.

Paul Mwazha Church Pledges Unwavering Support To ZANU PF

Former bishops and the secretariat of the African Apostolic Church (Vapostora VeAfrica) have been barred from visiting the church’s shrine in Chivhu without the authority of the current leadership.
In an urgent chamber application made by the church in January this year, through its board of trustees, vice-chairperson Patrick Mahachi and  Ernest Mhambare, who is the second applicant, the church alleged that the former members invaded their place of worship in Chivhu known as Guvambwa.
Upon invading one of the church’s most sacred shrines, the respondents allegedly changed windows and put a new door to the church offices. They also mapped out construction plans on the land belonging to the church. 
A former bishop, Alfred Mwazha, however, issued a notice of opposition on February 3, dismissing the urgent chamber application saying it was based on falsehoods.
He said the respondents have not been to the Guvambwa shrine this year and there is no construction as alleged adding that “there’s no plan whatsoever for the respondent to engage in the alleged construction works.”
High Court judge Justice Emilia Muchawa ordered the respondents to stay off the church’s shrine. Read the judgment:

The first to eighth respondents be, and hereby ordered not to visit the shrines of the first applicant, without the consent of the current leadership of the church… are hereby ordered not to convene meetings of the African Apostolic Church or visit the first applicant’s shrines or places of worship or organise any event there. Pending return date, by consent of the parties, neither party shall undertake any construction works, improvements or other developments at the Guvambwa shrine.
</blockquote>
The respondents from first to eighth are Alfred Kushamisa Mwazha, Ngoni Edward Mwazha (a former bishop), James Mwazha, Richard Juru (former general secretary), Elson Tafa, Charles Tekeshe, Lovemore Mharadze and Norman Siyamuzhombwe.

Mwazha Church Crisis: Former Vapostora VeAfrica Bishops Barred From Church Shrine

African Apostolic Church leader, Paul Mwazha has approached the High Court in a bid to stop his sons from holding pilgrimages at the church shrines.
<a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/05/08/mwazha-succession-wrangle-rages-on/">The church is split between Mwazha and his sons.</a>
Earlier this year, the High Court barred both parties from accessing the church shrines at Ndarikure Shashe in Midlands and Mapembe in Manicaland provinces.
Nevertheless, Mwazha’s second son and faction leader, Alfred Kushamisa has invited members of the church to attend two pilgrimages scheduled to be held at the end of this week and next month at the church’s shrines.
Mwazha wants the gatherings slated for Ndarikure from 24 – 26 September and Mapembe from 8 -10 October cancelled pending the finalisation of the leadership wrangle.
The church also wants Mwazha’s three sons and five others to be evicted from the church’s shrines.
The church also predicts that there will be violent clashes between the factions if the proposed gatherings proceed considering that previous activities resulted in violence at the shrines.
It also believes that the gatherings will be COVID-19 super spreaders considering that many people are likely to attend the pilgrimages.

Mwazha Moves To Bar Sons From Conducting Services At Church Shrines

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Paul_Mwazha">Paul Mwazha</a>, the founder and leader of the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/African_Apostolic_Church" title="African Apostolic Church">African Apostolic Church</a> has claimed that he was with Jesus in England, stayed in Queen Elizabeth’s house before they went to Scotland from where they flew to Africa.
Mwazha is sensationally referred to by his followers as “Mutumwa” which means Angel in English. Watch the video below for more.

His followers explained, however, that the preacher might be suffering from memory loss due to old age but he was not speaking about physical interaction with Jesus but a vision he had in the 1950s.
They attached an excerpt from his book The Divine Commission of Paul Mwazha of Africa Part 1 in which it is indicated that the story he was narrating in the video above was actually a vision, not events that transpired in the realm of the living.
Born to Joseph Mugovera Mwazha and Saramina Mwazha Spouse in 1918 in Mamvura, Mwazha is 103 years old this year.

ZBC News reports that leader of the African Apostolic Church Mutumwa Paul Mwazha says he is an admirer of President Robert Mugabe and supports Zanu PF.
He allegedly told Women’s Affairs Minister Nyasha Chikwinya who had come to his Chivhu homestead for the burial of his wife Mbuya Joyce Mwazha who died on Saturday to deliver a special message of condolence from the Zanu PF women’s league led by First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe and the government of Zimbabwe.
Mbuya Mwazha whose burial was attended by thousands of people who included church followers, was born in the Sadza area of Chikomba in 1937 and married Mutumwa Mwazha in 1956 with whom she had eight children. She is survived by her husband Mutumwa Mwazha, five children, 21 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.

Mutumwa Paul Mwazha pledges allegiance to Zanu-PF

Joyce Makaonesu Mwazha wife to founder and leader of the African Apostolic Church (AAC) Paul Mwazha has passed on. She was 79. She died on Saturday afternoon at her home in Hatfield, Harare after losing a long battle to diabetes. 
She is survived by her husband, Paul Mwazha, five children, 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs Mwazha will be buried at N.C Mwazha Plot, Munyati South in Chivhu, on Wednesday.
