Controversial South African preacher Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng has announced that he will move his church from its Katlehong location, finally obeying what he claims is God’s instruction dating back to 2019.
This decision follows the destruction of the Incredible Happenings Ministries structure in August after Motsoeneng was arrested.
He, along with his son Revival and bodyguard Clement Baloyi, faces at least six charges, including kidnapping, related to an incident at Matsediso Primary School on 5 August, where they allegedly abducted two minors.
A viral video showed the three men armed with machetes and a replica assault rifle as they forcibly took the children.
Although released on bail, Mboro’s conditions permit him to continue his work as a church leader and engage in community projects.
Addressing his congregation on Sunday, Motsoeneng said he is finally heeding God’s instruction to leave the Katlehong stand. He said (via <a href="https://www.citizen.co.za/news/mboro-to-move-katlehong-church/">Citizen</a>):

I said a week before they burnt the tent that God wanted me to leave this place and if I didn’t leave, they will destroy it, and it happened as God warned me. I need to go and touch people all over South Africa.
We are leaving this place of shame. I am moving today. It’s finally dawned for me. The church is gone, and the premises, sound system, and extra tents are gone. The 100-metre tent is gone and that’s not peanuts.
I am a church. God does not only dwell in the buildings but in me as a church. We’re using this rented tent and for my status as Ntate Mboro, it doesn’t suit me, it’s garbage, it’s lowlife, for the quality of the people here too, and my mother is also not impressed with this tent.
Every time I come here, I’m hanging onto something that’s gone. So, we have to leave and be in a decent place where we will need to start over.

He said his congregants are currently in discussions about the church’s new location. The final service at the current site is scheduled for 8 December.

Motsoeneng Moves Church "In Obedience To God’s Will"

Controversial South African cleric Pastor Mboro, whose real name is Paseka Motsoeneng, has released a new song titled “Ngiyaba Slicer,” just days after spending 40 days in prison.
Motsoeneng was last month released on R3 000 bail while his co-accused, while his co-accused, his bodyguard Vincent Baloyi, was released on a warning. Both are scheduled to return to court on October 21.
On Sunday, a video of the pastor singing went viral on social media, surprising many with his newfound musical interest.
In the song, Motsoeneng asserts that no matter how many adversaries he faces, he will “slice” them, which some interpret as a reference to his detractors.
In an interview with <a href="https://nehandaradio.com/2024/10/09/pastor-mboro-turns-to-music-releases-amapiano-song-inspired-by-stay-in-jail/">TshisaLIVE</a>, Mboro explained that his inspiration to record the song came from the talented individuals he encountered during his time in prison. He said:

I have to officially release the song, I need to apply my mind to it have clarity, and understand how music works.

Mboro, Baloyi, and his son are facing 12 charges, including kidnapping, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and assault.
The charges stem from an incident at Matsediso Primary School in Katlehong, where the three men allegedly kidnapped two minors on August 5.
A video of the incident went viral on social media, capturing the trio armed with machetes and an assault rifle as they forcibly took the children.

Defiant Machete-Wielding South Africa Pastor Releases New Song, "Ngiyaba Slicer"

A self-styled South African prophet, Paseka Motsoeneng, who allegedly stormed Matsediso Primary School in Katlehong wielding a machete, was denied bail on Monday.
Motsoeneng and his bodyguard were denied bail in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Monday, while the preacher’s relative was released.
Motsoeneng, who once claimed he had visited heaven to meet God, his 37-year-old bodyguard Clement Baloyi, and Motsoeneng’s close relative, aged 27, had brought bail applications.
The relative was released, but Motsoeneng, popularly known as Pastor Mboro, and Baloyi remain behind bars.
As reported by <a href="https://www.news24.com/news24/southafrica/news/pastor-mboro-denied-bail-20240819">News24</a>, his lawyer, Advocate Phillip Dhlamini, claimed the case is politically motivated, the charges against his client have no merit, and that the police officers involved in the case were being “influenced”. Said Dhlamini:

This is politics in court, or the police are acting on some instructions from above to ensure that Motsoeneng doesn’t get bail. This is not because the evidence says so or there are tangible reasons why he shouldn’t be granted bail.
This is a typical case where the three are kept in jail, not in the interest of justice.
I’m not criticising the police. Some officers are doing a great job. This court is not a rubber stamp of the police. It is independent of anybody. It administers fair, equitable justice. The three are not a flight risk.
The two accused are suffering because of Motsoeneng. He is well-known and popular throughout the country.

Dhlamini contended that the State’s recent disclosure of Motsoeneng’s nine prior arrests, which resulted in withdrawn charges, was insignificant and lacked substantial impact. He said:
<blockquote>
Until those cases are brought back to court, the police must tell Motsoeneng they have cases against him. 
The law requires a person to declare during bail if he has outstanding charges or previous convictions and not (if he has) withdrawn cases.
The investigating officer [Captain Maisibe Ngwepe] said some of those nine charges are being investigated and may be reinstated.
Ngwepe didn’t say when those charges were levelled against Motsoeneng and when they were withdrawn.
Do those charges contribute to the granting or refusal of bail? I submit that they are not relevant. It is an effort to dent Motsoeneng’s image. The State is playing to the public gallery.
They haven’t alleged that they will evade trial if all three are released. The reality is that that hasn’t been contested.
The State hasn’t been able to contradict the submissions of the three applicants. Their submissions haven’t been contested.
The State attempted to allege boldly that there was a likelihood that their release would disturb or undermine public peace. That allegation is not substantiated.
The State hasn’t substantiated that they are a danger to the community. The allegation that Motsoeneng is a danger to society has no merit.

Motsoeneng’s church, Incredible Happenings, was vandalised and set ablaze by angry residents of Katlehong following violent clashes at the school.
The pastor, along with his bodyguard and a relative armed with pangas, aggressively threatened teachers and students at Matsediso Primary School.
Motsoeneng arrived at the school amidst a heated custody battle involving his son and the children’s grandmother, who works there.
Reports indicate that the children’s mother passed away a few months ago, and tensions escalated after a family meeting the previous weekend ended without a resolution.
