Paradzai Mesi, a sungura musician known for hits such as Tiri Huruva, has announced that he is quitting drinking beer. This follows calls from his fans to give up alcohol if he was serious about his music career.
Mesi has faced numerous challenges, including poverty and accusations of theft. However, he has received support from fellow musicians and fans, who have donated money and goods to help him.
Despite previously jokingly saying that he could not quit beer as it would affect families in the beer industry, Mesi has now pledged to stop drinking. He made the announcement in a recent post, saying that he realized that his drinking was causing him problems and that he wanted to focus on his music career. He said:

Musician Paradzai Mesi Quits Drinking Beer

Mudiwa Hood, a Zimbabwean gospel hip-hop artiste, has announced that he bought some furniture for sungura musician, Paradzai Mesi to cushion him from the bumps of life. 
In a Facebook post seen by Pindula News, Mudiwa whose real name is Mudiwa Mtandwa, said he bought furniture from Bruno Furniturez who had donated a bed to Paradzai Mesi. He said he visited and bought everything Mesi needed for his new house. Mudiwa added that contributions are handled by Mesi and his manager. He said:

He added that Paradzai Mesi will have a furnished house. Mudiwa encourages others to help those in need and create employment opportunities.
Mudiwa’s donations to Paradzai Mesi started after reports that the “Huruva” hitmaker had been arrested for stealing some groceries from a local tuckshop. Mesi was found lying in the tuckshop. List Of Furniture Mudiwa Bought For Paradzai Mesi

Businessman and socialite <a href="https://wiki.pindula.co.zw/Mudiwa_Hood">Mudiwa Hood</a>, whose real name is Mudiwa Mtandwa, says he is looking for a decent place to relocate musician <a href="https://wiki.pindula.co.zw/Paradzai_Mesi">Paradzai Mesi</a> who has fallen on hard times.
Mesi was arrested last week for allegedly breaking into and store and stealing groceries with unknown accomplices.
His manager, Andy Jusa, however, denied the allegations, saying Mesi, who was in a drunken stupor on the night of 20 April, was tricked into getting into the shop on the pretext that he had arrived home by three men who left him sleeping after stealing groceries.
Hood, who recently bought groceries and clothes for Mesi, has pleaded with fellow Zimbabweans to assist Mesi. In a post on social media, Hood wrote:

Mudiwa Wood Pledges To Find A "Decent" Place For Paradzai Mesi

Alfred Andy, the manager of <a href="https://wiki.pindula.co.zw/Paradzai_Mesi">Paradzai Mesi</a>, a Zimbabwean sungura musician, narrated in an interview with <a href="https://www.herald.co.zw/paradzai-mesi-did-not-steal-anything-manager/">The Herald Arts</a> and Entertainment how Mesi was recently arrested for allegedly stealing groceries from a store in Concession.
According to Andy, Mesi did not steal anything and was actually heavily intoxicated to the point where he could barely walk. Mesi has accepted that false information can be spread about celebrities and that they can be trolled. Alfred Andy narrated:

We were shocked with what is circulating on social media.
The story emanated on April 20 when Paradzai went on his usual drinking spree at a farm called Hermistone.
It was now late and he decided to go home. He met three guys who then lied to him that they wanted to take him home. They arrived at the complainant’s shop and misled him that they had arrived at his residence.
In that drunken stupor, the musician slept on the floor in the shop. He then woke up in the morning and noticed that he was at a shop and there were now a lot of people surrounding him. He was arrested.

Andy said Mesi was left in the shop sleeping, while the three had already looted the shop.
He was then arrested by members of the neighbourhood watch, but later the charges were withdrawn by the owner of the shop who noticed that he was innocent. Added Andy:

We later discussed the matter with the owner of the shop who later withdrew the charges. He went to Concession, Glendale police station, who then advised both parties to go back and talk it out and return  the following day.
So far, the stolen groceries have not been recovered. Paradzai could not resist to be taken home by the alleged suspects because he is a man of the people and everyone loves him, so he thought they were fans taking him home. Little did he know they ended up in a shop.

After news broke out on social media that the musician had been arrested, socialites and celebrities offered to help him with groceries. Businessman Mudiwa Hood <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/chinono-supports-mudiwa-in-paradzai-mesi-saga/">gifted Mesi with a new suit</a> from his brand MH Luxury Suits and bought him groceries.
Mesi is unfazed by the allegations and is preparing for a show at Club Joy Centre at Makoni in Chitungwiza. They urge their fans to support them.
Andy Alfred said they need a PA system and instruments for their music career to continue and grow. Mesi’s new album is set for release in June this year.

Mesi who leads the Njerama Boys had been arrested for allegedly stealing groceries, and Mudiwa gave him a new suit and groceries while recording the act.
Some people on social media think that Mudiwa Hood wasn’t compassionate and was humiliating Paradzai Mesi. However, Chin’ono believes that Mudiwa is actually helping to restore Mesi’s dignity by doing the donation publicly on the same platform where he was shamed before. He said:

There are many things that I disagree with Mudiwa Hood but this is not one of them.
He helped a man who was humiliated on camera, what is wrong with retaining his dignity on camera on the same platforms which exposed the man in chains.
Mudiwa is running a business, he helped a fellow artist, this help will also make others want to buy his products. Big companies do it, why not Mudiwa?
My only issue with Mudiwa is that he supports a regime that has brought this economic humiliation to millions of Zimbabweans.
Helping this man is noble, but we can’t live from handouts, what happens to those who were not filmed?
So let us look at the broader picture, the issue of Mudiwa assisting this man and posting the pictures is a narrow issue, the real issue is why we got here where a musician ends up stealing to survive.

Chin'ono Supports Mudiwa In Paradzai Mesi Saga

Sungura musician Paradzai Mesi is now a member of Johane Masowe Chishanu led by Madzibaba Moses apostolic sect. Speaking to The Herald he said that he has quit smoking and drinking and has decided to give his life to God.
Said Paradzai Mesi:
