<h2>Ministry of Health and Child Care General Nurse Training January 2025 Intake</h2>
Applications for the three-year Diploma Nurse Training are invited by the Ministry of Health and Child Health Care. Applicants should be suitably qualified holders of the following qualifications:
<ul>
<li>A minimum of 5 Ordinary Level subjects with a grade C or better pass</li>
<li>English Language and a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, Physical Science, Combined Science and Physics)</li>
<li>The other three should exclude practical subjects (Fashion and Fabrics, Metal Work, Technical graphics, Art, Woodwork, Physical Education and Building etc).</li>
<li>The passes should have been obtained from not more than TWO sittings with certificates. Examination Result Slips are not accepted.</li>
<li>Candidates must be between the ages 17   1/2 and 30 years on the date of commencement of training.</li>
</ul>

The Ministry of Health is looking for new nurses for training starting in January 2025. Applicants must have good grades in English and Science subjects and be between 17 1/2 and 30 years old. They must apply by 17/11/24 to specific hospitals. Shortlisted candidates need to bring important documents to the interview. Only those who meet the criteria will be chosen, and they will be placed in schools for training. The Ministry doesn't advertise anywhere else and doesn't charge any fees. No third parties are involved in the recruitment process. They have a "Zero Tolerance to Corruption" policy.

Nurse Training January 2025 Intake (Full Text)

A state publication, The Herald has reported that there are divisions within the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association, a union representing junior and middle-level doctors.
The alleged disagreements are reportedly being caused by reports suggesting that the association’s leadership is being paid to continue with the industrial action which started on the 3rd of September whilst the rest of doctors are not receiving anything.
The Herald reports that one disgruntled doctor revealed that there were plans by some doctors who were not happy with the leadership, to form a new union saying that the current one has been captured. The unnamed doctor said:
<blockquote>The whole idea is premised on the belief that the current leadership has been captured, which can easily be linked to their conduct in the public sphere.
Magombeyi is living a lavish lifestyle in South Africa while we have not been paid here for three months. We cannot continue to work for other people.</blockquote>
There were reports, mainly by government officials and sympathisers alleging that the <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/doctors-respond-to-eds-claims-that-they-were-being-sponsored-to-strike/">ZHDA leadership was being paid by foreign donors</a> and <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/striking-doctors-are-being-sponsored-by-doug-coltart-charamba/">by Doug Coltart to continue with the strike</a> so as to destabilise the government.
Meanwhile, some doctors have also dismissed the allegations saying that <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/doctors-respond-to-eds-claims-that-they-were-being-sponsored-to-strike/">they don’t need anyone to tell them that their salaries were no longer sustainable.</a>

Doctor: "We Can't Continue To Work For Other People," Amidst Disunity In Doctors' Camp - Herald

The Ministry of Health and Child Care has revealed that the recruitment of nurses will be done electronically, starting with the September intake.
The Ministry said that the move is meant to prevent corruption in the recruitment of nurses.
Director of Nursing Services in the Ministry, Cynthia Chasokela had this to say:
<blockquote>The ministry will be starting with this September’s student nurse intake, introduce electronic selection for aspiring nurses countrywide in a new policy that was necessitated by a public outcry over the way recruiting processes were being held previously.
We partnered Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) in coming up with the new system which will see people downloading forms from our website and filling in before they resend for consideration.
The interviews will then be done by a panel of experts before successful candidates are advised through their e-mails.
This is a positive way for the profession as we endeavour to curb corrupt practices and also moving along with modern trends in this ever-diversifying profession.</blockquote>
Chasokela revealed that the Ministry is working with Econet Wireless Zimbabwe to have a platform on which students pay their $10 interview fee before they come for the interviews.
She added that applicants should be aged between 17-and-a-half years and 30 years.
Applicants should have attained five Ordinary Level subjects including Mathematics, English and a Science subject. Practical subjects are not considered.
Applicants should have certificates and not results slips, the official said.
