Promise Mkwananzi, the spokesperson of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party, has dismissed a statement circulating on social media that claims the national leadership elected at the 2019 Gweru National Congress will take charge of the party following Nelson Chamisa’s resignation. In a post seen by Pindula News, Mkwananzi stated that the statement is bogus and that a formal statement will be issued soon. He said the party did not exist in 2019 and does not have a structure known as the Standing Committee. He urged party members to remain patient until official communication is made through their verified social media accounts. He said:

Citizen’s Coalition For Change refutes a statement purportedly issued on its behalf on the 28th of January 2024 by unknown people claiming to be a Standing Committee.
CCC was formed on the 24th of January 2022 and only celebrated its 2nd anniversary a few days ago. The party did not exist in 2019 and does not have a structure known as the Standing Committee. The party is yet to conduct its inaugural congress.
CCC decisions are taken by its supreme decision-making body; the Citizens National Assembly (CNA) assisted by Provincial Taskforces and District Clusters.
CCC deployees in parliament and local authorities, activists, members, local leaders, supporters and members of the public are urged to remain patient until formal communication regarding the way forward is made and confirmed to be authentic.
Kindly disregard any statement purpoting to be from CCC which does not appear on the official social media handles of the party.

The statement attributed to CCC’s Communications Department read in part:

Today, 24th January 2024, Advocate Nelson Chamisa issued a statement whose essence was that he had ceased to be the President of the Citizens Coalition for Change party.
Following President Chamisa’s statement, the Party Leadership elected at the Gweru Congress convened an emergency meeting to consider both the contents of President Chamisa’s statement and its immediate implications.
It is important to remember that, President Chamisa was elected unopposed at the Gweru National Congress in May 2019.
His leadership and Presidency of the party have never been in dispute or contestation. Until his today’s statement, he was the undisputed President of the party.
The Party leadership resolved that power and authority will collectively reside in the national leadership elected at the Gweru National Congress.
The Leadership further reaffirmed the authority of National, Provincial, District, Ward and Branch Executive committees elected leading to the May 2019 Gweru Congress.

The leadership also resolved to lead a process to engage President Chamisa in a deliberate and determined manner in an effort to resolve some issues raised by Advocate Nelson Chamisa in his statement.
The Leadership further resolved that another leadership meeting will be convened as a matter of urgency and further announcements will be made after that meeting.
It is important that all party deployees in various positions of responsibility must continue executing their mandates whilst the leadership seeks ways to resolve the current issues.
The general membership of the party is also called upon to jealously guard and defend the unity and cohesion of the party, and to do all that will enhance the standing of the party.

Chamisa left the party alleging infiltration by the ruling ZANU PF party following the recall of CCC Members of Parliament and councillors by Sengezo Tshabangu, the party’s disputed interim Secretary General. Chamisa’s departure has created uncertainty within the party, with some elected officials resigning from their positions to follow him. However, others have chosen to remain in office, stating that they are waiting to see Chamisa’s plans and that their constituents still need them. Chamisa, a former ICT minister, is reportedly <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2024/01/29/nelson-chamisa-wont-form-a-new-political-party-after-leaving-ccc/">considering forming a social or political movement</a> without traditional party structures.

CCC Spokesperson Dismisses Statement On Leadership Change Amidst Chamisa's Resignation

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Douglas_Mwonzora/">Douglas Mwonzora</a>, the president of the opposition <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Movement_for_Democratic_Change/">Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)</a>, was elected as the spokesperson for the National Electoral Reforms Agenda (NERA) in Zimbabwe on January 18, 2024. NERA is a coalition of 25 political parties, including some that did not participate in the 2023 elections. Mwonzora explained that NERA aims to advocate for electoral reforms in the country, given Zimbabwe’s history of disputed elections. He said:

The aim of NERA is to spearhead electoral reforms in the country. Our country has a history of disputed elections, and we need to stop that. Membership of NERA is open to all political parties whether they participated in previous elections or not.

They specifically <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/05/10/mdc-loses-delimitation-report-case-here-are-the-effects/">contested and lost the delimitation exercise</a>, which Mwonzora believed was unfairly biased in favour of the ruling party, ZANU PF.
Previously, Nelson Chamisa, the current leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), the main opposition party, had threatened to boycott elections until electoral reforms were implemented. He has, however, contested in all previous elections.
Electoral reforms were also recommended in the Mothlanthe Commission report, which investigated the August 1, 2018 shooting incident in Harare. During the incident, six civilians protesting against the delayed release of presidential election results were fatally shot by the police and army.
Zimbabwe’s history of disputed elections has strained its relations with Western powers and other countries. These entities now demand electoral reforms as a prerequisite for re-engagement. Notable elections, such as those in 2008, 2018, and 2023, have been marred by allegations of ZANU PF violence against opposition supporters and claims of election result manipulation in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).
Some political analysts argue that the ruling party, ZANU PF, lacks the motivation to implement electoral reforms as the current system benefits them.

Mwonzora Elected As Spokesperson Of NERA, A Union Of 25 Parties Pushing For Electoral Reforms

There is an audio clip going around on social media featuring Morgan Tsvangirai, the late former Prime Minister of Zimbabwe. In the clip, Tsvangirai talks about the appointment of Nelson Chamisa and Elias Mudzuri as Vice Presidents of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). He clarifies that these appointments were not intended to undermine Thokozani Khupe, who had been elected by the MDC Congress. Tsvangirai also mentions that in his absence, Khupe would act on his behalf. He added:

If I’m not there, she acts on my behalf. In fact, let me say, party ino iyi (this party), we hope it’s not a one-off party. But isusu vana Tsvangirai we are just there for a period but the future is inherited by others who will take over the leadership. Handidi kufira pachigaro… If I’m not there, the Vice President takes over. Kana Vice President aita takeover vamwe maRegions oti maisirei iyeye, iye akaElectwa neCongress, zvinofamba here? You have to understand please remove the idea that the appointment of other Vice Presidents was intended to undermine her.

The audio clip has emerged during an ongoing leadership crisis in the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa. Sengezo Tshabangu, claiming to be the party’s interim Secretary General, has recalled numerous CCC Parliamentarians and Councillors, causing further turmoil. Some believe this crisis is connected to the leadership crisis in the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) that led to the formation of the CCC.
During Morgan Tsvangirai’s last days in 2018, Chamisa, Thokozani Khupe, and Elias Mudzuri vied for leadership of the MDC. Chamisa eventually became the leader, with allegations that Tsvangirai had appointed him to lead the party that originated from Workers’ Unions in 1999. However, after the 2018 elections, the leadership dispute ended up in court, and the Supreme Court ruled that Chamisa had unlawfully assumed power and was not the legitimate leader of the party.
Following the Supreme Court ruling, the MDC’s 2014 structures were reinstated, with Douglas Mwonzora as the Secretary-General. Khupe assumed interim leadership, awaiting the Congress to elect permanent leadership. Before the congress, several individuals aligned with Chamisa were recalled from Parliament and local authorities. Dissatisfied officials joined forces with Chamisa and formed the CCC.
The CCC now faces its own leadership crisis, with some suggesting that it was orchestrated by the ruling ZANU PF party to dismantle the opposition. Others blame Tsvangirai’s appointments for the confusion in the opposition.

AUDIO: What Tsvangirai Said About Appointment Of Mudzuri, Chamisa And Undermining Khupe

The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), led by Douglas Mwonzora, stated that the police and Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) did not find any evidence of wrongdoing when they searched Morgan Tsvangirai House. There were allegations that the party was not paying electricity bills and tampering with electricity meters at its headquarters.
Mwonzora emphasised that the MDC is a law-abiding and professional party that would never allow its offices to be involved in criminal activities. He said:

Yesterday, acting on a false and malicious “tip off,” ZRP and ZESA officials visited our headquarters, demanding to carry out certain investigations. We agreed, and they did their work. Nothing amis was found at our headquarters all. 
We are grateful at the level of professionalism shown by the investigators in this case. What was clear is that people opposed to our leadership wanted to harass and embarrass our organisation through abuse of state institutions.  
  
The MDC is law-abiding and professional and can never allow its offices to be used for crime. We are busy with the program of serious reconstruction of our party to be the effective vanguard of the people to deliver democratic change.

Mwonzora’s post came after the MDC released a statement alleging that the police and ZESA received false information from the MDC’s enemies. Read the statement:

Our erstwhile and fervent enemies are resoning to desperate measures to divert attention from the critical bread and butter issues currently occupying the minds of our people. This orchestrated effon to tarnish our pany’s image through baseless allegations is a clear indication of the lengths they are willing to go to undermine the democratic principles we stand for. In the spirit of transparency and our commitment to upholding the rule of law, we allowed the police and ZESA officials unhindered access to thoroughly investigate the false claims. We are pleased to announce that their findings have vindicated our party, as no evidence of any illegal power connections was discovered.
Our adversaries have recently engaged in other nefarious activities, including a violent attempt to overrun our party headquarters just a fortnight ago. They resorted to hiring thugs in an attempt to disrupt law and order, jeopardizing the safety of our members. Additionally, we must address the recent attempt to incite rebellion among our workers under false pretenses. Despite these challenges, we want to assure our supporters and the nation at large that the MDC remains steadfast in its commitment to the principles of democracy, justice, and the well-being of the Zimbabwean people.
As we navigate through these adversities, we reiterate our dedication to the people’s cause. The MDC will forge ahead with the current reconstruction under the theme of the 3Rs: Reset, Restart, and Recover all.

Police, ZESA "Found Nothing" After Pouncing On Morgan Tsvangirai House Over "Tampering With Metres"

The Douglas Mwonzora-led MDC has reportedly been failing to pay its employees for the past eight months.
Mwonzora was on Friday forced to attend a crisis meeting convened by the disgruntled employees.
<a href="https://www.newzimbabwe.com/mdc-employees-threaten-to-seize-headquarters-after-party-failed-to-pay-salaries-for-eight-months/">NewZimbabwe.com</a> reported sources as saying some of the workers were contemplating pushing for the dismissal of Mwonzora. Said a source:

The party has not paid us for the past eight months and the employees have resorted to confront the party.
Right now Mwonzora is in the building and he is in a meeting with the other workers.
The party leadership has been collecting funds from rentals and all this money is being used without accountability.

The workers had reportedly planned to take over the Morgan Tsvangirai House, formerly Harvest House, and force Mwonzora and the National Council to a meeting.
Asked to comment on the allegations, outside their headquarters, MDC director of information Chengetai Guta said:

That is an internal issue. We do not discuss human resource issues in the public domain. So whatever you allege remains an allegation.
We are yet to hear more from you if at all you have anything. But like I have said human resource issues are not issues of public concern this is an internal issue and one that will be resolved internally if at all there is anything like that.

MDC Workers Threaten To Seize Party Headquarters Over Unpaid Salaries

Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-proclaimed interim Secretary General of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has activated the MDC structures from the 2019 Gweru Congress.
In a statement seen by Pindula News, Tshabangu said individuals elected at that congress must now stand up and be counted by coalescing and uniting as per their collective mandate to restore the party back to its constitutional foundation. He added that there is a need to reset it towards its historic and traditional constitutional pathway, as per the historic decisions of the party’s National Council meeting that founded CCC on 22nd January 2022. We note and welcome the judgment handed down on 4 November 2023 by the High Court in Harare which dismissed with the costs the application by the recalled MPs who ceased to be members of the party, following their election to Parliament in the August 2023 harmonised general election. As a people’s movement, we are deeply concerned that, because the general election was marred by electoral malpractices it, failed to redress the widespread and deepening social, economic and political crisis in the country. This mainly because it was held on the back of longstanding crippling challenges associated with previous elections that remain unresolved, along with, and because of, the failure to implement the recommendations made by various international election observer missions after the 2018 general election, especially from the African Union (AU) and the Southern Africa Development Cooperation (SADC). It is an open matter of palpable consternation among our party’s membership that our party, that was formed by the toiling working masses with the agenda to fight for democratic constitutionalism, job creation and sustainable livelihoods, ended up operating structureless, without a constitution, having wantonly and inexplicably disregarded the resolutions of the party’s 5th National Congress held in Gweru in 2019.
Also, our party’s membership and supporters were profoundly perturbed and watched helplessly when the party’s National Leadership elected at the Gweru Congress in 2019 was quietly but effectively and unceremoniously purged unconstitutionally and displaced through opaque processes under dark circumstances that left a gaping vacuum that was illegally filled by a handful of scheming individuals with a nefarious agenda — some of them with no history in the democratic movement — who had neither a mandate nor the requisite experience to implement the people’s agenda and programme of action for the change that the citizens expect and deserve.
In the circumstances, we call on these leaders who were elected at the Gweru Congress to now stand up and be counted by coalescing and uniting as per their collective mandate to restore the party back to its constitutional foundation and to reset it towards its historic and traditional constitutional pathway, as per the historic decisions of the party’s National Council meeting that founded CCC on 22th January 2022.
The time has come for all of us to close ranks by closing the chapter of divisions and individualism to focus on service delivery, internal party cohesion, democracy and to refocus the movement on addressing the plight of the people and on spotlighting their aspirations. Our elected officials in Parliament must now focus their attention on the legislative reform agenda, provide an alternative and robust voice and act on behalf of the public by holding the executive to account.
It is a matter of a grave national concern that local authorities are confronted with raging cholera outbreaks in various parts of the country, and that this is but just one out of a myriad of ills afflicting citizens to the detriment of their lives and livelihoods. 
To effectively deal with these challenges, the party must as a matter of urgency return to Constitutionalism and manage its affairs through constitutional and formal structures in the interest of collective responsibility to ensure efficiency and accountability to restore stability and certainty.
It is clear that discordant and irreconcilable views on how to achieve the necessary democratic breakthrough in the country can easily lead to the total breakdown and collapse of the movement. This risk is made worse by the current failure to rely on the party constitution, party values and party organs as the premises for collective decisions and actions, as well as shared and collective responsibility. In the circumstances, going forward henceforth, we are committed and resolved to: Finalise the correction of processes and conduct that undermined the party’s Internal democracy and collective decision-making through ego-tripping, self-aggrandisement, fear-mongering and corruption. This is because we are aware that most of the party’s faithful deployees who enabled the corrupt practices did so out fear and desperation and had nowhere and nothing to fall back on, in the wake of the demobilisation of the party’s constitution, formal structures and processes.
Resume the holding of the party’s mandatory constitutional meetings at all levels of the party to enable members to regain their decision-making power. As a social democratic and people-driven party, the participation of citizens in decision-making process is paramount and thus non-negotiable.
Commence the preparation for Congress in terms of the interim constitution of the party, beginning with the election of branch committees.
Ensure that the preparatory process for the National Congress crystalizes an inclusive programme of mobilisation and ground action in preparation for the next harmonised general election due in 2028. We expect compatriots with the MDC and CCC DNA and blood in their political veins to be reinvigorated, re-energised and motivated to once again take their place in history and play their part to participate meaningfully and to assume their vanguard roles as we depersonalize the agenda for change in Zimbabwe to ensure that it is truly led and owned by the citizens.

Tshabangu Activates MDC Gweru Congress Structures In CCC

Former Senator for Midlands, Morgen Komichi, has once again emphasized the need for opposition parties in Zimbabwe to come together and form a strong and united movement. He believes that this is necessary to save Zimbabwe from complete collapse. In a previous statement, he called on opposition parties to unite and remove the ruling party, ZANU PF from power. He said in late October:

Only a ZANU PF agent fears the idea of a United Opposition Movement. I will continue to call for the Opposition movement to form a strong and formidable opposition movement to effectively tackle Zanupf in Zimbabwe.

Posting on X this Saturday, Komichi reiterated this message, stating that Zimbabwean opposition parties should establish a powerful movement to prevent the country from further deterioration. Komichi said:

Zimbabwe Opposition parties should unite and establish a strong and formidable opposition movement to save Zimbabwe from total collapse.
</blockquote>
Komichi’s call for unity among opposition parties in Zimbabwe has generated mixed reactions. Some people have questioned the motives of certain politicians and expressed doubts about the effectiveness of such a movement. Komichi himself has faced criticism in the past for aligning with a faction of the MDC party that caused divisions and led to the formation of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC). Sceptics believe that Komichi and his colleagues, including Douglas Mwonzora, may be seeking to create further divisions within the opposition. Others have criticised Komichi for seemingly prioritising personal interests over the well-being of the masses who continue to suffer in poverty. Some individuals have dismissed Komichi as insignificant and believe he has nothing meaningful to contribute. He has also been labelled as a sellout by some.

Zimbabwe Opposition Parties Should Unite And Establish A Strong Opposition Movement - Komichi

Brighton Mutebuka, a Zimbabwean lawyer residing in the United Kingdom, has claimed that the ruling party ZANU PF sent <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sengezo_Tshabangu/">Sengezo Tshabangu</a> to sabotage and possibly destroy the opposition <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Citizens'_Coalition_for_Change/">Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)</a>. Mutebuka alleges that Sengezo Tshabangu, who has been in the spotlight after declaring himself as the CCC’s Secretary-General and recalling 15 Members of Parliament (MPs) and some councillors, is being controlled by the ruling party.
Parliament Speaker <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Jacob_Mudenda/">Jacob Mudenda</a> acted upon Tshabangu’s instructions and removed the recalled legislators, disregarding a written communication from Chamisa stating that any dealings concerning CCC MPs should go through his office. Tshabangu who is also a lawyer, also asserted that <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Nelson_Chamisa/">Nelson Chamisa</a> was no longer the party president and announced that he had appointed <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Tendai_Biti/">Tendai Biti</a> and <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Welshman_Ncube/">Welshman Ncube</a> in his stead. 
Mutebuka’s analysis suggests that Tshabangu is operating under the guidance of ZANU PF. In a social media post seen by Pindula News, Mutebuka drew parallels between the current events and the circumstances surrounding the formation of the CCC. This comparison likely refers to the previous recalling of MDC Alliance MPs and Councillors aligned with Chamisa, following the party leadership dispute that ended up in court. <a href="https://twitter.com/BMutebuka/status/1711822391779750222/history">Mutebuka said:</a>

A mandate is earned via convincing the majority of the electorate to vote for you on the basis that you are the best candidate. @nelsonchamisa has successfully achieved that premise &amp; proven his mettle through garnering millions of votes in successive elections. 
3. The regime simply has to come to terms with that political reality. It has to be reminded that the world can see through its crude machinations.
 4. @CCCZimbabwe was formed in January 2022 after a similar charade to what we are witnessing. The regime spectacularly failed to decimate the opposition despite the array of weapons at its disposal. 
5. What the regime is missing is that, the more it targets @nelsonchamisa, the more it inadvertently amplifies his profile &amp; popularity.

Ultimately, he questioned the significance of crowing over opponents if everything was left behind in the end.

UK-based Lawyer Says ZANU PF Sent Tshabangu To Destroy CCC

The Nkayi Community Parliament (NCP) has condemned the victimisation of MDC polling agents by suspected ZANU PF activists.
The attacks came after the MDC losing candidate for Nkayi North, Chief Ndlovu, filed a High Court application challenging ZANU PF candidate Sithembiso Nyoni’s victory saying the elections were not free and fair.
Reports claim that ZANU PF activists with links to the shadowy <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Forever_Associates_Zimbabwe">Forever Associate Zimbabwe</a> (FAZ) have been attacking polling agents who may be witnesses in the court challenge.
NCP speaker Nhlanhla Moses Ncube was quoted by the <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/southerneye/local/article/200017720/attacks-against-opposition-supporters-in-nkayi-condemned">Southern Eye</a> as saying the attacks against MDC members suggest that the elections were not free and fair. Said Ncube:

This behaviour could be signalling that there was gross thuggery by ZANU PF in Nkayi North.
If they committed no foul play, why are they attacking witnesses?
As the NCP, we strongly condemn such reckless behaviour by ZANU PF which has the potential to harm the image of the country both locally and internationally.
We call upon Nyoni to take action against her supporters and party members.
We know that when children misbehave, it is their parents who are complicit.

Ndlovu said they have made a police report, but ZRP spokesperson in Matabeleland North Province Inspector Glory Banda said he had not yet received the report.
Meanwhile, in his application, Ndlovu through his lawyer Lovemore Madhuku, said more than 1 500 voters in Nkayi North were assisted to vote describing the high number as “wholly unrealistic”.
Nyoni won the election with 5 492 votes, Ndlovu polled 4 065 votes, and CCC’s Mandla Ndlovu garnered 3 110 votes.

Civic Group Condemns Victimisation Of MDC Supporters In Nkayi North

Zimbabwe’s newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs) and Senators are scheduled to be sworn in on Thursday, marking the beginning of the tenth parliament since the country gained independence.
The announcement was made by Kennedy Chokuda, the Clerk of Parliament, through an extraordinary gazette. According to the notice, 279 MPs and 90 Senators are expected to take their oath of office. Chokuda said:

It is hereby notified that, in terms of section 128 (1) of the Constitution, the day and time for Member of Parliament before the Clerk of Parliament in the form set out in the Third Schedule to the Constitution shall be – (a) ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 7th of September, 2023, for Members of the National Assembly; and (b) half past two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 7th of September, 2023, for Members of the Senate; at the Parliament Building, Harare.

The swearing-in ceremony follows the harmonized elections that took place on August 23 of this year. The ruling party, ZANU PF, secured 136 electable seats, while the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) won 73 seats. However, the actual number of MPs being sworn in will be slightly higher, as there are legislators from both parties appointed to the parliament under the proportional representation system. ZANU PF will have 176 legislators taking their oath, and the CCC will have 103.
In the Senate, ZANU PF has 33 senators, and the CCC has 27. Additionally, 18 chiefs and two representatives of people with disabilities will join the 60 senators from the two political parties. The country’s tenth parliament will be without a lawmaker from the MDC party for the first time in over 23 years.

Zimbabwe's New MPs And Senators Will Be Sworn In On Thursday

The opposition MDC has refuted social media claims that the party’s property has been disposed of after it failed to field candidates in less than half of the 210 constituencies and its presidential candidate Douglas Mwonzora withdrew from the race.
In a statement, MDC Treasurer-General Brian Dube said the party’s property is safe and is being safeguarded by the party’s leadership. Reads the statement:

Over the past few days, social media has been awash with news that the party property has been disposed of.
This news is completely false and was deliberately meant to bring ill-feeling against the leadership.
We have traced these false statements to bitter former top leadership who have since left the party.
The information is also meant to justify the violence that these people were inciting against top leaders of the party through social media.
Our leaders are men and women of integrity who have safeguarded party property for years.
The people’s property is safe. The people’s project is being reset and there is no going back.

Since the court reconstructed the MDC through a controversial court ruling in March 2020, the once-formidable party has failed to win a single seat.
Dozens of parliamentary seats and scores of wards have been contested in by-elections since 2022 and the MDC failed to win a single seat.

MDC Property Is Safe, Says Party Treasurer Brian Dube

The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), led by Senator Douglas Mwonzora, has asserted that the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) lacks the authority to compel their party’s participation in the upcoming 2023 harmonized election, which the MDC alleges to be fraudulent. Senator Mwonzora withdrew from the presidential race due to concerns regarding the mishandling of the electoral process by the ZEC. He expressed discontent with the ZEC’s decision to exclude 87 MDC candidates for Members of Parliament, perceiving it as an act of political discrimination.
Subsequently, the ZEC promptly issued a statement clarifying that a presidential candidate has the option to withdraw from the race by providing written notification to the Chief Elections Officer of the ZEC, 21 days prior to the polling day. This announcement was widely interpreted as implying that the ZEC had already printed the ballot papers, with Mwonzora’s name included despite his withdrawal. Conversely, presidential aspirant Saviour Kasukuwere, who was disqualified from the election, does not appear on the ballot papers, despite his case still being pending before the courts. This has led to speculation that the election outcome has been predetermined.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) issued a statement that our Presidential candidate cannot withdraw his candidature. In their reply to us delivered on the 9th of August 2023, ZEC stated that they cannot “remove” our candidate’s name on the ballot paper.
The impression here is that the ballot paper has already been printed. How can that be, when the case of a presidential candidate Saviour Kasukuwere was still pending in the courts? We are boycotting the election because ZEC unfairly disqualified 87 of our parliamentary candidates. Further, there has been selective application of the law against the MDC.
In cases to do with rights of candidates to participate, ZEC has always acted in favor of candidates participating. However, It has acted differently In cases involving the MDC. In fact, it has mounted spirited legal battles against the participation by MDC candidates. This is a matter of historical record. The MDC cannot accept this discrimination by an election management body.
What is clear is that ZEC is punishing the MDC for having challenged the delimitation report. It is insisting on our candidate to remain in the race because they have prematurely printed ballot papers and they know it is illegal. The MDC can never agree to be part of a farce and a sham that this election has turned out to be.
We reiterate that our President cannot be forced to take part in a process that lacks integrity. ZEC knows that it has made this election a serious and monumental fraud.

In May, Mwonzora contested the ZEC delimitation report, alleging that it favoured the ZANU PF party. However, he lost the case on a technicality when the courts ruled that Mwonzora was not affected by delimitation since his constituency encompassed the entirety of Zimbabwe. As a result, voters have the freedom to select presidential candidates regardless of their geographical location. Mwonzora sought a court declaration to invalidate the delimitation, instruct the ZEC to redo the process, and compel President Emmerson Mnangagwa to postpone setting an election date until a new delimitation report was available. If Mwonzora’s application had been granted by the Constitutional Court, the 2023 general elections would have been delayed. Chief Justice Luke Malaba argued that as a presidential candidate, Mwonzora was not impacted by constituency boundaries. Additionally, he questioned why Mwonzora, as the leader of the MDC-T, had not presented sworn affidavits from potential candidates who would have been adversely affected by the delimitation.

The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), under the leadership of Senator Douglas Mwonzora, has announced plans for a march in Harare with a proposed participation of 3000 individuals. The party said the purpose of the march is to demand electoral reforms in Zimbabwe. In an official letter dated August 9, 2023, addressed to the Regulating Officer of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) at Harare Central Police Station, the party’s national organizing secretary, Benevolence Taisekwa, said they will march from Robert Mugabe Square to 4th Street. The intended march follows Mwonzora’s recent announcement to withdraw from the 2023 presidential race. Mwonzora cited an uneven playing field, strategically designed to hinder the MDC’s chances of success. In particular, he expressed concerns over the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s (ZEC) management of the elections. Mwonzora’s dissatisfaction was fueled by the ZEC’s decision to disqualify the party’s 87 MP candidates, leaving MDC with only 24 Parliamentary candidates. He viewed this disqualification as a form of political discrimination.

Mwonzora-led MDC Planning A 3000-Man March Over Electoral Reforms In Zimbabwe

Senator Douglas Mwonzora, the leader of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/08/08/douglas-mwonzora-withdraws-from-the-2023-presidential-election/">announced his withdrawal from the 2023 presidential race</a> on Tuesday, 08 August 2023. This decision has triggered an analysis of the evolution of his stance on elections.
Mwonzora assumed leadership of the MDC, taking over from Thokozani Khupe, who had been serving as the interim president. The party awaited the Supreme Court-sanctioned Congress to elect its new leader. Since the passing of its founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai in 2018, the MDC has been embroiled in leadership disputes. Both Khupe and Nelson Chamisa claimed to be the rightful successors until the courts ruled that the party should hold an elective congress.
After the courts ruled against Chamisa, the former Student leader decided not to participate in the congress where Mwonzora was elected as the MDC leader. Khupe alleged that the congress was rigged and eventually left the party to form a now-defunct splinter group.
Chamisa, along with some dissatisfied MDC officials and those who had been dismissed from the party for supporting him, regrouped and formed the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC). The party, with some members still representing MDC in Parliament, quickly gained momentum and overshadowed the MDC.
<h3>Mwonzora’s stance on elections: Makatimezha Kupi?</h3>
When the MDC expelled some of its members from Parliament and local councils for their allegiance to Chamisa, by-elections were triggered. Political analysts predicted that the Mwonzora-led faction would not win any elections due to its lack of popularity compared to Nelson Chamisa’s CCC. Mwonzora dismissed these claims, asserting that the MDC was prepared for elections. He questioned, “munoti hatichina vanhu makatimezha kupi,” which loosely translates to “Where did you measure us to conclude that we lack supporters?” Watch the video below for more.

By-elections were held on 26 March 2022, and the MDC Alliance did not win even a single seat out of the 28 National Assembly and 121 local government seats that were up for grabs. The seats were divided between the ruling ZANU PF and the CCC with the latter winning the majority.
<h3>Mwonzora then predicted victory in the 2023 elections</h3>
Despite the previous setback, Mwonzora conceded defeat and announced that the party was regrouping and focusing its efforts on the 2023 elections. Last year, he told reporters that he had a dream in which the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) declared him the winner of the 2023 presidential race.

Some Zimbabwean tailors have said the harmonised elections scheduled for August 23, 2023, have brought them huge business as political parties stampede to sew their regalia.
Judah Zunze whose workshop is located in Harare’s Warren Park township says his business is thriving, as he crafts vibrant garments adorned with the smiling faces of politicians vying for office in the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for August 23.
Among the twelve candidates competing for the presidency, the main contest lies between incumbent Emmerson Mnangagwa of the ruling ZANU-PF party and Nelson Chamisa of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
As the election approaches, the informal clothing industry, including tailors like Zunze, capitalises on the demand from party supporters eager to display their allegiance through colourful attire.
Zunze, known for his tunics featuring Mnangagwa’s face, charges between $10 and $20 if customers provide their own fabric. With the onset of the campaign season, Zunze attests to earning up to $500 in monthly profit. He spoke to ZimLive:

Shame Maupa, a supporter of the CCC, highlighted that amidst Zimbabwe’s difficulties, these outfits serve as a means to boost morale. Similarly, for ZANU-PF youth leader Lameck Chimanikire, the colourful ensembles hold a deeper significance beyond fashion. His striking red, flowing robe, reminiscent of garments worn by African apostolic church members, has become a spectacle at ZANU-PF rallies. Chimanikire views his attire as a tool to inspire young individuals to vote, utilising his background in the apostolic church to convey a political message.
During rallies, political parties distribute regalia to their supporters. Videos have surfaced showing enthusiastic supporters scrambling to obtain these items.

Zimbabwean Tailors Thrive As Political Parties Rush To Sew Election Regalia

Witness Dube, a former senior official of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), has made a statement on social media claiming that the “radar of democracy” is now permanently located within the ruling party, ZANU PF. This statement was made in response to criticism from David Coltart, a former Education Minister during the Government of National Unity (GNU), who had accused Dube of defecting and joining ZANU PF.
Dube had posted a photo on Twitter showing himself at a ZANU PF event while wearing the party regalia, which Coltart criticised as “utterly shameful”. In response, Dube claimed that ZANU PF was now the home of democracy. Dube’s initial tweet reads:

The Radar Of Democracy Is Now Permanently Resident In ZANU PF: MDC Defector

The national secretary for Information and Publicity of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), Witness Dube, has resigned and left the party.
In a letter addressed to the party president, Douglas Mwonzora, Dube announced his resignation and termination of his membership, stating that he had found a new political party that he would be joining. Reads the letter:

Dear MDC President and the MDC family at large, please accept this letter as formal notification that I am resigning from my position as the party’s National Secretary for Information and Publicity with immediate effect. I also wish to terminate my membership of the party which I have held since 11 November 1999, also with immediate effect.

My current portfolio taught me a lot about the Zimbabwean political leadership question, and the opportunities available for working for and supporting development in our country while insulating future generations from repeating our past mistakes and recycling our past pains.
I wish the party and it’s leadership well in their future endeavours. Regrettably there will be nothing more I can do to wrap up my duties as I will be joining a new political home which I am looking forward to instantly serving with the best and all of my abilities

Dube has been a member of the main opposition party since its formation in 1999 and has held various positions within the party. His resignation comes just a day after another opposition party member, Edmore Gomba, withdrew his candidacy for the August 23 harmonised elections and joined the ruling ZANU PF party.

Senior MDC Official Resigns, Leaves The Party Days Before Elections

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Lilian_Timveos/">Lilian Timveos</a> has been appointed as the national secretary for training and implementation in the Citizens Against Economic Sanctions (CAES) executive council in the Midlands province.
Temveous has been advocating for the removal of sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by some Western countries at the turn of the millennium.
Martin Zharare, the CAES Executive Director, noted that Lilian Timveos’ appointment would assist in educating women on the negative impact of sanctions. Zharare said:

Lilian Temveos Appointed To Citizens Against Economic Sanctions Executive Council

A man from Harare was charged with assaulting another man who was wearing a Zanu PF T-shirt. The incident occurred on Sunday in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kuwadzana">Kuwadzana</a> when Gilmord David confronted Dosman Piko about the T-shirt.
When Piko refused to remove the T-shirt, David’s teenage son kicked and hit him with a brick. David also joined in the assault. Piko was taken to the hospital with injuries to his head and chest. David was granted $30,000 bail and will appear in court on June 8th.
The incident happens when Zimbabwe is preparing to hold harmonised elections sometime between July 26 and August 26 this year.
Elections in Zimbabwe have a history of violence, including intimidation, harassment, and physical violence. Members of the opposition, and human rights activists have often been victims of state-sponsored violence and restrictions on freedoms.
Zimbabwe has also experienced violence both between different political parties (interparty) and within the same party (intraparty). The ruling party, ZANU PF, has been involved in numerous clashes with the MDC and lately the CCC, with each party accusing the other of instigating violence. There have been reports of intimidation, assault, and even murder of opposition supporters by members of the ruling party, as well as retaliation attacks by opposition supporters.
The Zimbabwean government has been criticized for not doing enough to address interparty violence and holding those responsible accountable. Many Zimbabweans, including civil society organizations and human rights groups, have called for an end to political violence and for the government to take action to ensure free and fair elections.
Despite some improvements, reports of violence and intimidation during elections have persisted. The violence before the March 26th, 2022 by-elections has raised concerns about potential violence during the 2023 harmonised elections.

Man Assaulted For Wearing A ZANU PF T-shirt

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Nelson_Chamisa">Nelson Chamisa</a> who leads the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has told his supporters that the new Great Zimbabwe is emerging and is inevitable.
He speaks as Zimbabwe is preparing for harmonised elections scheduled for July 2023.
In recent social media posts, Chamisa, a former Minister of Information Communication Technology (ICT), Postal and Courier Services, urged his supporters to remain focused warning of distractions and decoys. He said:

Some observers believe that Chamisa was referring to the Constitutional Court application by the opposition MDC led by Douglas Mwonzora when he said there are too many sideshows around. 
Mwonzora’s application seeks the nullification of the delimitation report saying it violates the constitution. He also demanded that election dates must be announced only after the delimitation exercise has been re-done. 
Chamisa is set to contest against President Emmerson Mnangagwa who defeated him in 2018 in a contested election. 
Chamisa has over the years assured his supporters that a great new Zimbabwe is inevitable despite claims that the ruling ZANU PF and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) were conniving to manipulate the electoral process in ZANU PF’s favour.

A New Great Zimbabwe Is Inevitable - Chamisa

The MDC-led by Douglas Mwonzora has suspended seven senior members among them Elias Mudzuri pending investigations and disciplinary action by the party.
In a statement, MDC national chairperson Solomon Chikohwero said the seven are facing serious disciplinary charges, which he however, did not specify. Read the statement:

These members are facing serious disciplinary charges and their suspensions are in terms of Clause 9.1.2.3 of the Party’s Constitution.
The hearings will be conducted in terms of the MDC Constitution and their rights as accused persons will be respected.

MDC Suspends Seven Senior Officials

The MDC has endorsed its president Douglas Mwonzora as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections.
The opposition party held its 5th Ordinary Congress at the City Sports Centre in Harare on Sunday, 18 December where a resolution by the party to nominate Mwonzora as the sole presidential candidate was confirmed.
Speaking at the congress, Mwonzora said MDC remains strong despite what he called false propaganda which was meant to destroy. He said:

As we begin 2023, we will begin a candidate selection programme, we are no longer like other parties where leaders just appoint candidates, ours will be chosen by the people through voting.
We are going to do an aggressive mobilisation for the party. All the top leaders you see are first going to their villages where they come from and mobilise from there.
I do not want to see a leader at the Harvest House, I want to see the leader on the ground, iwe neni tine basa.
I know, we know, they know that the MDC is a surprising party, and it will achieve. For over two years, we were subjected to a lot of false propaganda meant to split and destroy our party and leadership.
Today the MDC is standing on two feet, no amount of propaganda or hate language, or falsehoods can defeat an idea whose hour has come.

MDC Holds 5th Ordinary Congress

The MDC led by Welshman Ncube has suspended four members of its highest decision-making body – the National Executive Council (NEC) for attending an unsanctioned meeting with the MDC-T led by Douglas Mwonzora.
The four officials who were issued suspension letters on Tuesday are Shupikai Mandaza (Deputy National Chairperson), Christopher Monera (Secretary for Policy and Research), Munango Musevenzo and Gift Karupati (also members of the NEC).
The development was confirmed by MDC Disciplinary Committee Chairperson, Faroah Zebron Jele, during an interview with CITE. Said Jele:

These four men have been suspended from the party for failure to abide by the party policy by attending an unsanctioned meeting with another political party.
They were seen attending a meeting with MDC-T at Harvest House, so they have violated party policy.
They have been suspended but they will be given an opportunity to appear before the disciplinary hearing.

The MDC contested the 2018 polls under the umbrella of the MDC Alliance together with Nelson Chamisa-led MDC-T faction and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) then led by Tendai Biti.
However, since the 31 March 2020 Supreme Court ruling which nullified Chamisa’s presidency of the MDC-T and dismissal of the alliance as a political party, rifts have emerged within the coalition.
One of the suspended members, Monera confirmed attending the Mwonzora faction meeting, which he said discussed the way forward on the MDC Alliance
He said he recognises Mwonzora as the leader of the MDC-T and MDC Alliance of which his political party is part. He said:

By the way, Professor Ncube is the one who created that integration but by that time Chamisa was wrongfully leading the MDCT.
The only difference that there is today is that the High Court said, no, no Chamisa is not the legitimate leader.
We cannot ignore our principal who happens to be Mwonzora.

Welshman Ncube's MDC Suspends 4 Top Party Officials

MDC activist, Mr. Madondo has narrated how his house was torched by alleged supporters of then-president, the late founding leader, Robert Mugabe in 2002.
Mr. Madondo said early 2002, Mugabe came to their area to campaign ahead of the presidential election and urged his supporters to be violent towards opposition MDC members.
He said later that night, his house was targeted since he was the chairperson of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) then led by the late former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
Madondo said his wife and kids escaped through the window while his brother was caught and severely assaulted.
He said the unidentified assailants poured petrol and threw a grenade on the house which exploded almost immediately after Madondo’s family had escaped.
Madondo added that he reported the matter to the police but investigations never commenced.

The ruling ZANU PF party has welcomed former MDC legislator Tongai Matutu who defected to the party recently.
Matutu was paraded at State House on Monday before President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputies Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi.
In a statement yesterday, ZANU PF acting spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa said Matutu will now undergo induction at the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology.

ZANU PF Welcomes MDC Founding Member

The ruling by Justice Chitapi that MDC Alliance party does not <a href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&amp;source=web&amp;rct=j&amp;url=https://www.herald.co.zw/mdc-a-does-not-legally-exist-court/amp/&amp;ved=2ahUKEwj2p7uC5uPsAhVxtXEKHQFMAmwQFjAAegQIJBAC&amp;usg=AOvVaw3S6MC9ndBgWtB3jswtjVPw&amp;ampcf=1&amp;cshid=1604318566746">legally exist </a>is set to stand after the Supreme Court stroke down the appeal by MDC Alliance lawyers.
The appeal was stroke down after MDC Alliance lawyers failed to appear in the Supreme Court this Monday to challenge Justice Chitapi’s earlier ruling.
The development has an effect on the fate of MDC Alliance legislators and councillors who were recalled since March by the interim MDC-T leadership for ceasing to belong to the party. Sources  who spoke to Harare Open Council said:

The appeal has since been struck down by the Supreme Court.</blockquote>

The latest development comes when the leadership crisis in the MDC has raged on since the last days of the party’s founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai who succumbed to cancer in 2018.

"MDC Alliance Doesn't Exist Legally" Ruling To Stand

President Emmerson Mnangagwa while addressing a gathering said those who prefer confrontations or peddling falsehoods about Zimbabwe when dealing with a constitutionally elected government have no place in our country.  The government has repeatedly denied that there is a crisis in Zimbabwe and has accused members of the opposition who claim otherwise of peddling falsehoods about Zimbabwe.
Mnangagwa’s remarks came a few short days after <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/09/29/govt-accuses-mdc-a-of-smuggling-guns-into-the-country/">State Security Minister Owen Ncube</a> accused the opposition particularly the MDC of smuggling guns into the country.

WATCH: Those Who Prefer Confrontation Have No Place In Our Country - Mnangagwa Warns Opponents

Social justice activist, writer, author, and speaker Tendai Mbofan writing for The Zimbabwean has said the government’s efforts to cover up flimsy accusations against Hopewell Chin’ono were exposed today at the press conference held by the Ministry of Information in Harare this morning.
Mbofana opined:

What I love so much about the Zimbabwe regime’s live televised press conferences, and parliamentary debates, is the way top government officials shamelessly stutter, struggle, and outrightly fail to adequately articulate and provide undisputed and solid evidence for all the wild and largely laughable allegations they love spewing at every turn especially, against political, labour and social justice activists, who have been at the forefront of challenging the establishment’s gross and unmatched human rights abuses, state-sponsored violence, unparalleled corruption, and notorious economic incompetence, which have resulted in the acute, cruel, and untold suffering, starvation, and deaths of millions of Zimbabweans.
This morning, the Minister of Information, Monica Mutsvangwa when placed on the spot by renowned Al Jazeera journalist, Haru Mutasa – pathetically and shamefully failed to proffer any irrefutable evidence to back her administration’s long-held wild and ridiculous allegations that those leading in criticizing the heartless brutal government, were being sponsored by Western countries, to cause chaos in the southern African nation, so as to effect illegal regime change.
This was after Mutsvangwa had unwisely held a press conference, in the capital Harare, in a clearly poorly-thought-out attempt at explaining away her government’s recent locally and globally condemned arrests of popular journalist cum activist Hopewell Chin’ono, and the leader of opposition political outfit Transform Zimbabwe, Jacob Ngarivhume, on allegations of inciting public violence (ostensibly, in order to unconstitutionally topple the incumbent regime, at the hands of an understandably angry and fed-up nation).

When asked by Mutasa what evidence the Zimbabwe government had, to prove this link between activists, and Western powers, the best she could come up with especially, pertaining to Chin’ono was the whimsical ‘fact’ that, within minutes of the police reaching his home to arrest him, the US embassy, and other Western diplomatic missions based in Zimbabwe, were already issuing out statements condemning the arrest.
If this is what the men and women in power in Zimbabwe (most with doctorates) regard as incontrovertible evidence that those leading anti-government activities are being sponsored by Western countries then we are either being led by an insane group of people, or they have simply been finally exposed for their inexcusable lies and deception which, they have been unashamedly using in undemocratically crushing genuine pubic outrage and dissent.
I have personally always asserted that, being proven a local foreign-sponsored agent tasked with destabilizing his or her own country, or illegally removing a constitutional government is a very serious crime of treason, which can rightly attract up to life in prison, or even the death sentence (in some countries).
So, my never-answered question (for as long as I can remember) since all these nonsensical utterances by the Zimbabwe authorities, were started in 1999, when a real challenge to the ruling ZANU PF party was posed, through the formation of the opposition MDC party why has not even a single person ever been convicted for this grave offence?
In fact, the same so-called ‘Western-sponsored agents’ have also been repeatedly accused, by the administration, of having invited “crippling Western economic sanctions on Zimbabwe, that have caused the untold suffering of ordinary citizens”  another very serious treasonous crime…had the government actually had any irrefutable proof.
I have, similarly on numerous occasions called on anyone in possession of any proof, beyond any reasonable doubt, to kindly present it to me  but, as with the ‘Western-sponsored’ tag, no one has ever come forward with any thing worthy, save for the usual overly tired unsubstantiated allegations, that have been recycled over and over again, for the past two decades.
If there was any proof – that could hold up in a competent court of law surely, would these treasonous people not have been lock up for a very very long time by now?
In fact, why would the Zimbabwe authorities lamely sit back and fold its arms, if they had compelling evidence that there were some amongst us, who were being handsomely paid by foreign countries to “incite chaos and destabilize the country, in order to unconstitutionally remove the government” whilst, at the same time, inviting “crippling sanctions that have caused the untold suffering of ordinary citizens”?
If those in power in the country had such indisputable evidence – yet, chooses to do nothing about it, except making useless statements – then, they are ones who should be held responsible by the people of Zimbabwe for causing their suffering, through negligent of duty by this omission, or for being complicit?
On the other hand, if the authorities do not have even a shred of unquestionable proof as is quite evident to be the case then, the eversuffering, over-burdened, and poverty-stricken starving people of Zimbabwe, should finally wake up to the reality of their situation that, their untold misery is the sole making of their own government, which they should hold to account.
Quite frankly, should this not finally prove, beyond any reasonable doubt once and for all that these regime accusations are flimsy at best, and dictatorial at worst…which, it merely used to justify wanton oppression, repression, and subjugation of a people who have clearly had enough?
Zimbabweans should now wake up to the fact that, most of us who are fearlessly speaking out, and standing up for their rights and plight at our own great risk are doing so purely out of patriotism, and a genuine and unquestionable love for the people of this great nation…and, that working together – and by finally stubbornly refusing to be divided by the authors of our suffering, we can make Zimbabwe great again.</blockquote>

OPINION: Zim Govt Exposed On Flimsy Accusations - Tendai Mbofana

An opinionist writing for the Daily News has said the ruling party, Zanu PF has no solutions to our problems and urged opposition parties to wake up and defeat the ruling party to better the lives of many a Zimbabweans. The opinionist said:
<blockquote>Zimbabwe’s opposition parties, led by the popular youthful Nelson Chamisa of the MDC Alliance, must continue to exert pressure on the Zanu PF government to implement economic and political reforms to rescue the long-suffering citizens.
The country is currently battling to flatten the coronavirus (Covid-19) cases, which continue to rise by the day. 
It is clear the government is ill-prepared for the catastrophe that is on our doorstep, with Cabinet ministers earlier this week admitting that the resources to fight the novel virus are inadequate.
Zimbabwe’s health delivery system was already in dire straits after years of poor funding and corruption before the advent of the pandemic.
The World Food Programme (WFP) has already announced that at least 5,5 million Zimbabweans would need urgent aid after most crops were affected by drought
Even those living in urban areas are also in need of urgent food aid as they can no longer afford proper nutrition. 
The Zimbabwe dollar which was ill-advisedly re-introduced last year by under-fire Finance minister Mthuli Ncube is depreciating in value against the United States dollar.
This has resulted in prices of basic goods constantly shooting up daily, thereby eroding the salaries and incomes of an already over-burdened population.
Ever since the nationwide lockdown was introduced to combat the spread of Covid-19 on March 30, there has been an increase in the cases of human rights abuses.
What is disappointing though is that the opposition, including Chamisa, seems un-interested. 
The opposition should be shouting out loud at the government, pressing for dialogue and reforms to extricate this country from the current problems.
Their silence creates a perfect opportunity for President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Zanu PF to continue to rule as they please, further hurting the economy and the people.
At the moment, the economy is deteriorating at an alarming rate with Zimbabweans barely able to make ends meet but there is no one to call Mnangagwa to order since the opposition’s focus is elsewhere. 
Zimbabweans have suffered for a long time and Zanu PF has shown us that they do not have a solution to our problems.</blockquote>
