Former <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Criminal_Investigation_Department_(CID)">Criminal Investigation Department (CID)</a> officer and murder suspect Jaison Muvevi allegedly killed another person in Harare.
According to <a href="https://www.newzimbabwe.com/killer-cop-muvevi-hit-with-another-charge-court-told-of-how-he-killed-four-victims-motive-remains-mystery/">NewZimbabwe</a>, Muvevi allegedly shot an unidentified man in the head “for no apparent reason” on November 19, 2021, in the Eastlea neighbourhood of Harare.
The court was informed that Muvevi was with two unidentified men, while the deceased was with one Nyasha Eusen.
Following the victim’s death, it is claimed that Muvevi and his accomplices pushed Eusen into their Toyota Allion and drove to the Huruyadzo Shopping Center in Chitungwiza. Eusen later managed to escape. 
The court was also informed that Muvevi accidentally shot himself in the left elbow during the altercation.
Police found an x-ray report in his car he dumped following a shootout in the Hwedza area. 
<h2>Arrest:</h2>
Muvevi was arrested this week in Mozambique in connection with the murder of three people on 13 January 2023 in Hwedza.
It is alleged Muvevi arrived at Crispen Kanerusine’s shrine while in the company of one Shupikai Muvevi.
He was dressed in all black against the church’s doctrine and was given a white cloth to cover himself with.
The court was further told Muvevi sat with other worshipers as Kanerusine delivered his sermon.
Muvevi suddenly went to his vehicle which was parked close to the shrine and came back with an FN browning pistol which he used to shoot the preacher once in the head.
After learning about the event, the Officer in Charge of Wedza Police Station, Inspector Maxwell Hove, assembled his response team and went to the shrine to conduct an investigation.
They met Muvevi along the Wedza-Murambinda High Way and blocked his vehicle intending to confront him.
Muvevi then started firing at them, hitting Hove three times in his head and the officer died on the spot.
He also shot Constable Tendai Mugova in the stomach and on his pelvis.
Muvevi made a U-turn and drove towards Murambinda business centre where he shot and killed Munashe Munjani after a brief chat with him.
On January 14 Muvevi went to Mutare boys high school where he fired three shots but missed the second complainant who had refused to give him food. 
Muvevi then skipped the border and was arrested the following day in Mozambique.

Cop Killer Jaison Muvevi Killed Another Man In Harare - Prosecutor

The family of <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Jaison_Muvevi">Jaison Muvevi</a> Wednesday approached two families of the three victims that he shot dead in Hwedza last week and apologised for the heinous crime.
According to <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200006302/cop-killers-family-pleads-for-forgiveness">NewsDay</a>, the family enlisted the help of ZANU PF, police, and local traditional authorities to interact with grieving families.
The negotiation team, led by Jaison’s cousin brother Bornface Mudzamiri, initially went to Musekanehuku village to apologise to the late Munashe Mujanhi’s family and try to make amends.
They made the customary payment of $300 USD to begin the discussions and to acknowledge that their son erred by committing a major offence.
They afterwards apologised to the family elders and went to the house of the late Madzibaba Silage (actual name Crispen Kanerusine).
The family of Madzibaba Silage was offered US$300 by the Muvevis as a funeral gift, but the Kanerusine family refused to accept the gift.
Madzibaba Simbarashe Nengomasha, a well-known head of the apostolic cult, was required to persuade the family to accept the funds.
The Kanerusine family demanded the presence of the accused’s mother who reportedly stays in Mutare. Said the Kanerusine family:
The Muvevi family was also instructed by the Kanerusine family to return and ask the local traditional chiefs for advice on how to exact the deceased’s spirit’s vengeance.
Muvevi’s family is scheduled to meet in Mberengwa, Midlands province with the family of Inspector Maxwell Hove, the third victim and the officer in charge of Hwedza who was also shot and killed.
<a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/fugitive-suspected-cop-killer-jaison-muvhevhi-arrested-report/">Muvevi, a former CID officer, was arrested</a> on Monday in Mozambique while fleeing from justice. He appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court yesterday charged with illegal possession of firearms. He was remanded in custody until tomorrow.
The murders were triggered by accusations that he was involved in rituals and occultism.

Cop Killer Jaison Muvevi's Family Apologises

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Jaison_Muvhevhi">Jaison Muvhevhi</a> has escaped following a shootout with the police in Rusape, national police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Paul_Nyathi">Paul Nyathi</a> said dismissing reports that the former <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Criminal_Investigation_Department_(CID)">Criminal Investigations Department</a> (CID) had been arrested.
As investigations and a hunt for him continues, police located him on Saturday in the Chiduku area near Rusape where it is alleged, a fierce shootout occurred. Nyathi told <a href="https://www.herald.co.zw/muvhevhi-escapes-after-shootout-with-police-in-rusape/">The Herald</a>:
<blockquote>He is not yet arrested. The suspect fled and left his vehicle and a gun he had taken from the officers. He was located in Chiduku. It is not true that he has been arrested.</blockquote>
It is alleged during the intense exchange of gunfire, Muvhevhi abandoned his Toyota Allion vehicle and escaped on foot.
He is alleged to have fled into the nearby mountain and left a gun in the vehicle.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the hunt for the suspect is ongoing.
Muvhevhi allegedly <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/gunman-shoots-4-killing-officer-in-charge-wedza-prophet-and-another-person/">shot and killed three people in Hwedza</a> on Friday.
He shot and killed a “prophet” from an apostolic sect church before fatally shooting Wedza (Hwedza) Officer In Charge Inspector Maxwell Hove (from Mberengwa) and seriously injured another, who had come to attend to the scene.
He allegedly shot and killed another person at a nearby shopping centre. The officer is said to be in critical condition and is admitted to a local hospital.

Jaison Muvhevhi Escapes After Shootout With Police In Rusape

A police firearm jammed <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/gunman-shoots-4-killing-officer-in-charge-wedza-prophet-and-another-person/">during a shootout</a> as police tried to intercept <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Jaison_Muvhevhi">Jaison Muvhevhi</a> who went on a killing spree in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Wedza">Hwedza (Wedza)</a> on Friday gunning down a self-styled prophet, a police officer and another victim.
Muvhevhi who is still on the run and described by the police as “armed and dangerous” also shot and injured another police officer, CITE reported.
He <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/gunman-shoots-4-killing-officer-in-charge-wedza-prophet-and-another-person/">killed a church leader</a> of the Masowe sect at a church gathering in the Mukamba area in Wedza on Friday afternoon.
A team of police officers led by Officer In Charge of Wedza police station Inspector Maxwell Hove who comes from <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Mberengwa">Mberengwa</a> reacted to the incident. Said police sources:
<blockquote>When the station reaction team reached Matsine area they intercepted the armed man who had parked his motor vehicle and was outside the motor vehicle. The police approached him and when he that it was the police he pulled out a pistol from his waist and fired some shots and there was an exchange of fire between police and the armed man.
During the shooting incident, the police firearm jammed and the armed man continued firing at the police officers and during this stampede of trying to escape from this firing the police lost one FN rifle and a pistol. The other four police officers escaped from the scene and left Inspector Hove who was sitting on the police vehicle’s passenger seat, Sgt Mutungambera who was the driver and Detective Constable Mugova who was hiding underneath the motor vehicle after he had been shot.</blockquote>
During the commotion, the other police officers ran away leaving Inspector Hove “who was trying to open the locked passenger door“. Added police sources:
<blockquote>The armed man approached Inspector Hove and shot him twice in the head and left him unconscious.</blockquote>
Jaison Muvhevhi, <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/update-on-hwedza-shooting-shooter-identified-as-a-former-cid-officer/">a former Criminal Investigation Department (CID)</a> officer, then drove off in his vehicle towards the Mukamba area.
Inspector Hove was later rushed to St Mary’s Hospital where he was pronounced on by the hospital staff.
Detective Constable Mugova who had been shot is currently receiving treatment at Morris Depot Hospital.
Police national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Paul_Nyathi">Paul Nyathi</a> said they have recovered the Toyota Allion vehicle dumped by Muvhevhi in the Chiduku area of Rusape.
According to ZBC News, police also recovered an FN rifle that the suspect had taken from the police officer he killed in Wedza.
Assistant Commissioner Nyathi also dismissed false messages circulating on social media that Muvhevhi had been arrested in Chipinge while trying to cross into Mozambique.
Muvhevhi is said to be a gold dealer who owns several mines in the Midlands province.
