The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a tragic road traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday, November 26, at around 4:30 PM near a curve close to Chisengu Estate.
Five people were killed while two others were injured in the accident.
The ZRP gathered that the driver of a Nissan Diesel truck, which was carrying six passengers, lost control of the vehicle and it veered off the road.
The vehicle plunged into a steep valley before finally landing on its wheels.
It is suspected that the truck may have been speeding when it approached the curve, leading to the driver losing control.
The bodies of the victims were retrieved and transported to Chimanimani and Mutambara Hospitals for post-mortem examinations.
Meanwhile, the two injured people were taken to Mutambara Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on October 11, 2024, around 7 PM at the 88-kilometre peg along the Harare-Shamva Road.
In a statement this Saturday, ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Ngwarai Nyathi said nine people were killed while eight others were injured when a Toyota Sienta vehicle with 13 passengers on board, which was travelling towards Shamva, hit a cow before swerving onto the oncoming lane.
This resulted in a head-on collision with a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle, which had three passengers and was heading towards Harare. Added Commissioner Nyathi:

Eight of the injured victims are admitted at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, Bindura Hospital and Shamva Hospital.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) on Tuesday, 17 September, released the names of the victims of two fatal road traffic accidents that occurred in Masvingo and Rusape on 14 September 2024 where seven people were killed.
Police said a Nissan Serena carrying eight occupants veered off the road and overturned after its rear right tyre burst at around 7:25 AM, approximately 60 kilometres along Roy–Chiredzi Road. Four people lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries.
The names of four victims who were killed in the Masvingo accident are:

<li>Siyano Nyamande (40), a female adult of Crownhill, Borrowdale, Harare</li>
<li>Priscilla Musembwa (64), a female adult of Biddulph, Cranborne, Harare</li>
<li>Memory Kwenda (40), a female adult of Dzivarasekwa, Harare</li>
<li>Epson Nyamande (45), a male adult of Crownhill, Borrowdale, Harare</li>
</ul>
In the Rusape accident, a Toyota Hilux with two passengers was involved in a head-on collision with another Toyota Hilux carrying eight passengers.
The accident occurred at the 60-kilometre peg along Harare-Mutare Road, resulting in three fatalities and seven injuries.
Two of the three victims who were killed in the Rusape accident were identified by their next of kin as follows:

<li>Madekufamba Viginia, a female adult of Mundopa Village, Makoni, Rusape</li>
<li>Kadungure Clement (53), a male adult of Kamba Village, Makoni, Rusape</li>
</ul>
The other victim had already been identified by the next of kin as Chigwese Tendai Amon (52), a male adult of Neshena Village, Makoni.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has urged motorists to exercise caution and refrain from overtaking when it is unsafe, following two tragic road traffic accidents that claimed seven lives in Masvingo and Rusape on Saturday, September 14.
In a statement issued on Sunday, September 15, ZRP Chief Staff Officer for Press and Public Relations, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incidents.
In one accident, a Nissan Serena carrying eight occupants veered off the road and overturned after its rear right tyre burst at around 7:25 AM, approximately 60 kilometres along Roy–Chiredzi Road. Four people lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries.
In the second incident, a Toyota Hilux with two passengers was involved in a head-on collision with another Toyota Hilux carrying eight passengers.
Commissioner Nyathi said the second accident occurred at the 60-kilometre peg along Harare-Mutare Road, resulting in three fatalities and seven injuries. Reads the statement:

The incident involved a Nissan Note, bearing the registration number AFY 1035, which was carrying five passengers.
The vehicle collided head-on with a Toyota Hiace, vehicle registration number AFM 1909, which had two passengers on board.
As a result of the collision, two people tragically lost their lives at the scene. Six other people sustained injuries of varying severity.
The bodies of the deceased were transported to Norton Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examinations.

The accident involved a head-on collision between a Ford Ranger vehicle and a haulage truck, resulting in the deaths of seven people. Initially, police reported six fatalities but later revised the number to seven.
In a statement issued on Wednesday morning, ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that six of the victims have been positively identified by their next of kin. He said:

Police Identify 5 Victims In Deadly Masvingo-Beitbridge Road Accident

A total of 7 people, among them 4 ZPCS Officers lost their lives today along the Nyanga Mutasa Highway when the prison truck they were travelling in was involved in a head-on collision with a fuel truck this afternoon.
According to a source that spoke to Pindula News, the Prison truck was going to Nyanga from Mutasa and they had picked up 2 female passengers at Mutasa bus stop when the accident occurred. 2 of the passengers in the truck were seriously injured and they were rushed to Bonda Mission Hospital.
According to our source, the fuel truck was in the middle of the road and the driver of the prison truck was speeding and failed to apply breaks before the fatal accident. The names of the victims are yet to be established.
