Dynamos has rejected reports that it solicited the services of a sangoma ahead of its Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) match against rivals Highlanders on Sunday.
According to previous reports, Dynamos allegedly paid $1,000 to the sangoma to influence the outcome of what is widely considered the biggest fixture in the local premiership in their favour.
However, Dynamos ultimately lost the match 0-2 at Rufaro Stadium.
In a statement issued on Thursday, July 18th, Dynamos categorically denied enlisting the services of a sangoma for the match against Highlanders or any of their other league games.
The club said it relies on proven scientific methods and training regimens to prepare for matches, rather than resorting to unorthodox or supernatural approaches to try and influence the outcome of matches. Reads the statement:

Dynamos Football Club would like to distance the Club from the alleged enlisting of the services of a sangoma ahead of the Battle of Zimbabwe Part 2 match between Dynamos and Highlanders played on Sunday 14th July 2024 at Rufaro Stadium and in any of our league matches that we play. The Club would like to state the following:
1. The Club believes that football is scientific and as such all our energy is directed towards the application of scientific methods.
2. The engagement of a sangoma, if any, was never done by the Club as such practices would violate the varied spiritual beliefs held by our players. The Club is alive to the Constitution of Zimbabwe which provides for freedom of conscience which includes freedom of thought, opinion, religion or belief. Therefore the Club can not impose or violate the rights of it’s players by engaging a sangoma.
3. Investing in Iron Age practices in this day and age would inhibit the growth of the Club and as such the Club would always strive to embrace modern football practices.

Dynamos Football Club Unveils 2024 Squad

Dynamos football club secured a single point when they played against Black Rhinos in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League on Sunday to close the gap between them and the current league leaders, Ngezi Platinum, who lost to Hwange at the Colliery. However, some Dynamos fans were disappointed with the nill-all draw, as they believe Dynamos could have taken advantage of Ngezi Platinum’s loss and earned three points instead. Said one supporter:

Failing to beat a team which is second from bottom on the log and struggling is unacceptable.

Unfortunately, Dynamos had some challenges with player availability due to injuries and suspensions. Coach Genesis Mangombe said Dynamos’ defence suffered three injuries in Kevin, Elvis and Dzvinyai ahead of the match. Makarati and Shandirwa are suspended and Brandon Mpofu has a family issue. He added:

The 2023 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season is nearing its conclusion, with only four matches remaining.
Meanwhile, Highlanders and CAPS United played to a one-all draw at Babourfields Stadium in Bulawayo. CAPS United took the lead with a long-range strike from Rodrick Chinyengetere, but Highlanders fought back in the second half with Mason Mushore scoring the equalizer. The match had a relatively low attendance as both teams are not performing well this season.
In another match, Yadah dominated with a six-nil victory over ZPC Kariba, showing their determination to avoid relegation. Yadah moved up to 13th place in the league standings, while Kariba dropped two places.

Castle Lager PSL Title: Dynamos Close In On Ngezi Platinum

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Dynamos_Football_Club/">Dynamos</a> received mixed news from the Premier Soccer League regarding their abandoned match against <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Highlanders_Football_Club/">Highlanders</a>. They were awarded maximum points with a 3-0 scoreline, but were also fined US$3,500. The fine was a result of the violent behaviour displayed by some Dynamos fans at <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Barbourfields_Stadium/">Barbourfields</a> last month in response to threats from Highlanders supporters.
Highlanders also faced sanctions, with vice-captain Peter Muduhwa receiving a US$500 fine and a four-match suspension, <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/dembare-get-bonus-peter-muduhwa-suspended/">H-Metro</a> reported.
Despite the penalty, Dynamos moved up to fourth place in the standings with 43 points, trailing league leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars by eight points. Highlanders remained in third place with 45 points.
The judgment stated that the match commissioner reported that the violence was initiated by some Highlanders fans who were unhappy with a referee’s decision. Read the judgment in part:

It is also not an issue that the missile throwing and pitch invasion was initiated and instigated by the Highlanders fans who were not happy with the referee’s decision not to award a penalty for what they perceived as a foul on their player in the penalty box.
According to the match commissioner, Mr Kusosa, some Highlanders supporters got on the pitch, threw a few missiles and retreated. Thereafter, those in blue and white also invaded the pitch in retaliation.
However, when those in black and white came back in greater numbers those in blue and white withdrew and ran away as they were outnumbered.
Even those Dynamos fans occupying the Mpilo end of the stadium also ran away.

A group of unruly fans stormed the pitch to protest a decision made by match officials and the match was abandoned. The outnumbered police officers present had to retreat as Highlanders fans threw objects. Barbourfields Violence: Dynamos Gets 3 Points, Highlanders Punished

The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/09/21/baltemar-brito-appointed-warriors-coach-until-june-2024/">recently appointed Warriors technical team</a>, led by Baltemar Brito, has announced the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_National_Football_Team/">Warriors</a> squad consisting of local players that is set to take on Botswana in an invitational match at the end of this month. Baltemar Brito, who currently serves as the coach for Highlanders FC, has been appointed as the interim Warriors coach until June 30 of next year. Baltemar Brito Has Announced The Warriors Squad To Play Botswana This Month

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Yadah_FC/">Yadah Football Club</a> has requested a change of venue for its match against <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Highlanders_Football_Club/">Highlanders Football Club</a> from <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Barbourfields_Stadium/">Barbourfields Stadium</a> citing concerns about the security situation in Bulawayo.
The club said it is hesitant to travel there due to recent incidents where Highlanders supporters threw objects and invaded the pitch during a match against <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Dynamos_Football_Club/">Dynamos Football Club</a>, resulting in abandonment. Yadah believes that their players, officials, and supporters may be at risk in such an environment. As a result, they have formally requested a change of venue for the match, suggesting Bata Stadium in Gweru as an alternative.
In their letter to the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Premier_Soccer_League/">Premier Soccer League</a>, Yadah’s lawyers argued that the referees might face pressure from Highlanders supporters, potentially affecting their impartiality. Said the club’s lawyers:

In light of these circumstances, our client, Yadah FC, is of the firm view that the safety and well-being of its fans, players, and officials as well as other stakeholders which is of paramount importance have since been compromised in the wake of its impending fixture against Highlanders.
Consequent to these unfortunate events, our client is of the firm belief that it will be extremely challenging for it to receive fair treatment from the match officials.
The psychological impact of the violence, coupled with the lack of accountability for those responsible, casts a shadow of doubt on the objectivity and impartiality of the officiating team that will be in charge of the match in circumstances where the Highlanders fans will be in attendance.
This situation greatly undermines the principles of fair play and jeopardises the integrity of the game.
Our client anticipates that its players will be inhibited from performing to their full potential due to the fear of incensing Highlanders FC supporters. This fear could lead to a detrimental effect on their performance, resulting in an unfair competition, where the principle of fair play cannot be achieved.
All the circumstances considered, particularly the volatile and unsafe environment as well as the potential risks involved, we are instructed to request for a change of venue and subsequently propose an alternative solution for the upcoming match against Highlanders FC, which is likely to be played before the prevailing situation stabilises.
We are instructed to formally request, as we hereby do, for a change of venue for the aforementioned match from Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo to Bata Stadium in Gweru or any other neutral venue which is located outside the City of Bulawayo.

Yadah said they had also notified the Sports and Recreation Commission about the issue.

Assistant Commissioner <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Paul_Nyathi/">Paul Nyathi</a>, the national police spokesman, confirmed the arrests and stated that two suspects were charged with violating the Firearms Act, four with criminal nuisance, and six with public violence. Nyathi assured the public that comprehensive investigations are ongoing to hold all involved individuals accountable.

Yadah FC Wants Highlanders Match Moved From Barbourfields Stadium Over Security Reasons

The Pakistan Embassy in Zimbabwe has donated 50 match and training balls to Dynamos Football Club, <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/dembare-get-backing-from-pakistan-embassy/">reported H-Metro</a>.
The balls were manufactured by a company called Goldsoni Pakistan, which is based in Sialkot.
Goldsoni Pakistan reportedly manufactures about 70 percent of world footballs.
Speaking during the handover ceremony on Friday, Ambassador Murad Baseer, a former footballer himself, said:

It is my privilege that we have engaged with Dynamos FC, one of the top teams of the Premier Soccer League here in Zimbabwe. I believe this is just the beginning of our cooperation with the club.
I used to pass by the Alexandra Sports Club adjacent to our Embassy and see the Glamour Boys in training, being a sportsman myself, I realised that engaging with a local football team will bring people-to-people contact and generate goodwill between Zimbabwe and Pakistan.
Sports can become an amazing link between people and can transcend borders and inhibitions between people.
It is my endeavour to engage with the people of Zimbabwe and introduce Pakistani Sports companies to Zimbabwe.
I am sure that the training and match balls handed over to the club today will become a precursor for their success and future cooperation between Dynamos FC and Goldstoni Pakistan.

Also speaking during the handover ceremony, Dynamos board chairman Bernard Marriot-Lusengo expressed gratitude to the Embassy of Pakistan for the donation. He said:

Pakistan Embassy Donates Match And Training Balls To Dynamos

Employees of the City of Bulawayo found the body of a 47-year-old Dynamos supporter at Barbourfields Stadium on Monday almost two days after the Harare-based club’s 2-0 win over Chicken Inn on Saturday.
The man, identified as Gibson Mahachi of Matshobana suburb, was left behind at the Mpilo End, which had been packed with visiting supporters for their Premier League match. A general hand cleaning the stadium discovered the body at around 7 AM and reported it to the police. Bulawayo police said in a statement:

On July 17, at around 7AM, a Bulawayo City Council general hand was doing her cleaning duties at Barbourfields Stadium. When she approached Mpilo End bay she saw a body of the now deceased lying on the steps leading to the terraces. A police report was made.
Investigations were carried out and it was revealed that the now deceased was one of the fans who were at Barbourfields Stadium during the Dynamos and Chicken Inn match and was drinking some hot stuff (strong distilled liquor) with his friends.

An investigation revealed that the deceased was drinking strong distilled liquor with his friends during the match. The body was taken to Mpilo Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Dynamos Supporter Found Dead At Barbourfields Stadium

Highlanders Football Club (Bosso) defeated their neighbours, Bulawayo Chiefs, on Sunday afternoon to top the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) table. M Ndlovu’s goal in the 19th minute secured the three points for Highlanders.
In another match, Dynamos Football Club (Dembare) beat ZPC Kariba by three goals to nil, with goals from Chakona (1), Mudadi (2).
Hwange lost to Manica Diamonds, who secured their victory through a goal from Binzi in the 4th minute.
Green Fuel also lost to reigning champions, FC Platinum, with Mutimbanyoka scoring the only goal for the Zvishavane-based club in the 59th minute.
On Saturday, Cranborne Bullets defeated CAPS United by two goals to one, with goals from S Munhira and Manokore. CAPS United got their consolation goal from Manondo. 
Chicken Inn beat Black Rhinos by a goal to nil, while Sheasham played a nil-nil draw against Herentals. Simba Bhora drew with Triangle United in a 1-1 match, with A Manenji scoring for Simba Bhora and A Makopa for Triangle.
On Monday 05 June 2023, Yadah will face off against Ngezi Platinum at the National Sports Stadium. Ngezi have a chance to top the table if they win their game in hand since they are trailing Hilanders by two points.

Castle Lager PSL Results: Dynamos Drop Points

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Dynamos_Football_Club">Dynamos Football Club</a> has said it will not comply with unlawful instructions from Premier Soccer League (PSL) officials.
This was after <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/psl-summons-dynamos-team-manager-for-disciplinary-hearing/">PSL summoned the club’s manager,</a> Richard Chihoro, over <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/dynamos-manager-performs-bizarre-juju-rituals-on-goal-line/">alleged anti-juju rituals</a> he performed at Barbourfields Stadium during a PSL match against Hwange last Saturday. 
In a statement seen by Pindula News, the Harare-based giants said:

<h2>ACT OF MISCONDUCT BY DYNAMOS FC MANAGER</h2>
Dynamos Football Club, pursuant to the charging of the club manager Mr Richard Chihoro, would like to confirm the following:
1. That the team manager was served with the summonses to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee on 5th April 2023;
2. That PSL secretariat did not act professionally in handling the matter as they rushed to the media before serving the accused with the summonses as per standard practice;
3. That the PSL secretariat wilfully usurped the powers of judicial bodies of football by ordering that Mr Chihoro’s accreditation be withdrawn and that he be nowhere near the team bus, technical dug out and changing rooms until the matter was finalised. Such an order must come from a competent judicial body and not the secretariat;
4. That Mr Chihoro remains an employee of Dynamos Football Club and that he will be expected to carry out his duties as per his contract with the club until such a time that a judicial determination makes such pronouncement;
5. That Dynamos Football Club shall not comply with unlawful instructions coming from Officers of the league.
Meanwhile, the club has been served with summonses to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee for alleged offences arising out of the Hwange vs Dynamos match. Both the club and the team manager will appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee on 5th April 2023.

The Premier Soccer League has summoned Dynamos FC Team Manager, Richard Chihoro to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee following acts of misconduct that took place at a Castle Lager PSL match between Dynamos FC and Hwange FC played at Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday 18 March 2023.
Mr Chihoro will not be allowed anywhere near the team bus, changing rooms or to sit in the technical area during PSL matches until the matter has been finalised.
Mr Chihoro is being charged for breaching Order 31 of the PSL Rules and Regulations which makes it an act of misconduct on the part of a player, official, servants or duly authorised (express or implied) representatives of a club who; 31.2.16 Commits any act or makes any statement, either orally or in writing or has been responsible for conduct which is considered ungentlemanly, insulting or improper behaviour, or likely to bring the game, sponsors, any member, the League, ZIFA, CAF or FIFA into disrepute.
31.2.17 Behaves in a manner which brings the League or any of its sponsors into disrepute or endangers the welfare of the League.
The disciplinary proceedings shall take place on Wednesday 5 April 2023 at the PSL offices.

PSL is summoning the Dynamos Team Manager for a disciplinary hearing after he was <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/dynamos-manager-performs-bizarre-juju-rituals-on-goal-line/">filmed performing alleged anti-juju rituals</a> during the Glamour Boys’ opening match of the 2023 season.
During the half-time break, Chihoro went onto the Mpilo end goalpost and sprinkled an unknown substance across the goal line.

Dynamos Appoint Herbert Marowa As New Head Coach

Dynamos Football Club has reportedly turned to former Black Rhinos Coach Herbert Maruwa to replace Tonderayi Ndiraya, whose contract will not be renewed by the Glamour boys.
Affectionately known as ‘Jompano,’ Maruwa worked as a juniors coach at Dynamos before joining the first team technical department under Kalisto Pasuwa who is now in Malawi.
Maruwa spent five years in charge of Black Rhinos, where he built a competitive side before he was fired for what the club termed ‘unbecoming behaviour’.
Dynamos Spokesperson, Tinashe Farawo told <a href="https://zbcnews.co.zw/2022/11/22/dynamos-set-to-appoint-herbert-maruwa-as-head-coach/">ZBC News</a> the announcement will be made soon. He said:

Mr. Tonderai Ndiraya, as previously shared by Dynamos FC, departs the club on 2022 December 31, at the expiry of his contract.
For the record: Mr. Ndiraya officially assumed his football leadership role at the club in 2019 May. Due to Covid19, the PSL League for 2020 was cancelled. Only the Chibuku Super Cup was competed for in 2021. 2022 was Mr. Ndiraya’s supposed full season in charge.
Sadly, the same 2022 season was hampered by an untimely mid-season suspension; which ill-timed suspension created intolerable anxiety amongst the players and the coaching staff at the club. Mr. Ndiraya endured the unfortunate suspension when the club was sitting pretty on top of the PSL Log. Naturally, such unsettling action affected the team’s subsequent performances.
Whilst the final Position 3 of 18 achieved by Dynamos FC on the PSL log was not glorious, it is also not abject failure considering the prevailing difficult conditions of service at Dynamos FC.
Mr. Ndiraya is warmly indebted to the Dynamos FC Executive Committee, led by Mr. Isaiah Mupfurutsa (Mr. Mupfurutsa is a relentless, honest professional on any day) for the fantastic opportunity they availed to him to coach Zimbabwe’s biggest FC franchise, popularly “the Glamour Boys.”
Mr. Ndiraya takes pride in his devoted professional approach to coaching, notwithstanding the terrain. It is the same never-say-die attitude Mr. Ndiraya, beloved as a midfield dynamo at the club, will take into his unfolding, promising future.

Tonderai Ndiraya Speaks On His Tenure At Dynamos Football Club

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sakunda_Holdings">Sakunda Holdings</a> has proposed a mediation process aimed at resolving a long-standing impasse between two camps fighting for control of Dynamos Football Club.
Sakunda Holdings’ legal representatives, Chimuka Mafunga Attorneys have since written to the two Dynamos camps proposing a mediation process.
ZBC News reports that letters that are addressed to Marriot and Kamba and dated 24 June 2022 state that mediation is aimed at ensuring a quick and final resolution to the deadlock.
Sakunda proposed that the mediation be led by Advocate Thembinkosi Magwaliba of Advocate Chambers and any retired judges appointed by arbitral institutions such as Africa Institute of Mediation and Arbitration, Alternative Dispute Solutions Centre and Harare Commercial Arbitration Centre.
The two parties in the Dynamos dispute have also been advised to consult their professional advisors for guidance and representation in the whole process.
The fight for control of Dynamos escalated when a new board of former players led by Ernest Kamba was appointed last year in a move rejected by the club’s long-serving chairperson, Marriot.
According to Sakunda Holdings, its efforts to engage the two camps from September last year to this June have not yielded any positive results.
Already, the fuel company has <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2022/06/26/sakunda-holdings-threatens-to-withdraw-dynamos-fc-sponsorship/">threatened to withdraw sponsorship</a> over the deadlock.

Dynamos FC Standoff: Sakunda Holdings Proposes Mediation Process

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sakunda_Holdings">Sakunda Holdings</a> has threatened to withdraw sponsorship to <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Dynamos_Football_Club">Dynamos Football Club</a> following reports of divisions within the club’s Board over control of running the club.
<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sakunda_Holdings">Sakunda Holdings</a>, owned by business mogul, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kudakwashe_Tagwirei">Kudakwashe Tagwiei,</a> urged the club to resolve the club’s impasse.
<a href="https://www.zbcnews.co.zw/dynamos-divisions-threaten-club-sponsorship/">ZBC News reports</a> that there is a clash between the Bernard Marriot Lusengo and Ernest Kamba-led boards in running the affairs of the club.
The club sponsors wrote a letter to the duo raising their concerns about the disputes.
Meetings have been held since September last year to resolve the current standoff but nothing materialised.
The sponsors have threatened to withdraw their sponsorship if no solution to the board impasse is found.
Dynamos Football Club has not been adhering to the constitution which got the club’s Electoral College to elect Ernest Kamba to run the club according to the 1963 Constitution. 
Sakunda announced this year that Dynamos FC and Highlanders FC, the two biggest football clubs in Zimbabwe, are to get multi-million dollar sponsorship from Sakunda Holdings.
Among other benefits, the two clubs are getting USD 1 million each, every year for 3 years.

Dynamos Has Ousted CEO Jonathan Mashingaidze

Dynamos Football Club have signed five new players to enhance their squad albeit lack of clarity on when the local league will resume.
The club’s spokesperson, Yvonne Mangunda, confirmed the development Wednesday afternoon saying the new players join from different clubs. Speaking to The Herald, Mangunda said:

Dyanmos Football Club Signs 5 New Players

Former Ngezi Platinum Stars skipper, Frank Makarati has reportedly joined Dembare on a one year contract, The Herald reports.
Mukarati who reportedly refused to renew his contract with Ngezi when it expired in December is reportedly eyeing a certain Egyptian Top Flight league club and the team delayed engaging him because of COVID-19 regulations.
Mukarati spoke about the possible move and staying at the Glamour Boys for the season and said:

Dynamos 1st Team Starting Group Training Today

Thieves last week broke into Dynamos FC’s offices located at the National Sports Stadium and got away with a number of valuables.
The incident was confirmed by Dynamos spokesperson Tinashe Farawo who also indicated that the break-in had been reported at Mabelreign Police Station on Wednesday. Farawo said:
<blockquote>We can confirm that there was a break-in at our offices housed in the National Sports Stadium. The club lost two laptops, some desktop computers and some very important documents on our commercialisation drive. We don’t know what the motive was and we have also reported the case at Mabelreign Police Station.</blockquote>
National Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi also confirmed the incident saying they got the report on June 3.
He added that investigations were already underway. Nyathi also urged companies to put security measures in place at their premises to avoid loss of properties.

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is mourning the death of former ZPC Kariba Football Club coach, Partson Ndabambi. Posting on Twitter, Castle Lager PSL said:
<blockquote>Our heartfelt condolences to the Ndabambi family &amp; friends following the passing of Partson Ndabambi. The late Ndabambi served as a coach to different PSL clubs including Shooting Stars, Gunners and ZPC Kariba. His contributions to football will forever be cherished. MHSRIP.</blockquote>
Ndabambi reportedly died on the morning of Tuesday 15 October 2019. Details of his death are however still sketchy.
Ndabambi served as the head coach at former premiership club Blue Rangers and Shooting Stars. He also took up the role of team manager at ZPC Kariba for several years.
He was also part of the technical team when Kauya Katuruturu finished second to Dynamos in their first top-flight season in 2014.

Castle Lager PSL Mourns Former ZPC Kariba FC Coach

Dynamos Football Club, better known as Dembare and Highlanders Football Club, popularly known as Bosso are set to play each other once again in the Independence trophy at the giant National Sports Stadium on 18 April.

The match will seal celebrations for Zimbabwe’s 39th anniversary. The encounter is a repeat of 2017 final which was won by Dynamos.
It also sees a shift back to the traditional format where local teams take part in the Cup. Last year’s edition pitted the Warriors against Botswana with the latter winning it 1-0.
Dembare is yet to play Highlanders in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League this year.

Dynamos, Highlanders Face Off In Uhuru Cup Contest

Dynamos are set to travel to Malawi next week for a pre-season camp.
Dembare’s tour comes a few days after the club signed a five-year sponsorship deal with multinational company Gold Leaf Tobacco. The sponsorship package is worth $1 million dollars.
The club had played a few practice matches in preparation for the new season. The trip to Malawi will give coaches the chance to fine-tune the squad. Meanwhile, Dynamos recently unveiled their team and headlining the squad are foreign players Vincent Mberga and Ngandu Mangala from Cameroon and Robert Sackey from Ghana. Only Simbarashe Chinani, Tawanda Macheke, Jimmy Tigere, Godfrey Mukambi and Kudzanai Dhemere remain from last season.
