Rev. Obadiah Musindo, the leader of Destiny for Africa Network, recently revealed that he paid lobola for his 23-year-old lover last Saturday.
Musindo, who is 54 years old, also shared his plans for a historic wedding with his sweetheart, Aysha Tagara, before the end of the year. He told <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/rev-musindo-pays-lobola-for-his-23-year-old-lover/">H-Metro</a>:

Yes, I paid lobola according to custom and I have plans for a massive, historic wedding before the end of this year.
For those who want to know my exact age, a wedding certificate will not lie.
Every detail will be taken from our birth certificates. What is important to me is that we love each other and we have settled.

In December 2023, Musindo confirmed that he got engaged to his then-22-year-old girlfriend.
He was responding to viral images of him on one knee before his girlfriend.
Several individuals who commented on the photo via social media placed significant emphasis on the age disparity between Musindo and his lover. Musindo said at the time:

I engaged. In other words, we engaged with my sweetheart. a 22-year-old, mature, responsible, Godfearing, intelligent, smart and beautiful young girl who is going to be Mai Musindo and many people shall see her.
She is going to be my life partner. We are marrying in 2024. We are going to have one of the best, big, unique weddings in Harare and many people will be invited and many journalists will also be invited.
It will be a special wedding because I’m going to use my wedding and my marriage as an example of what a marriage should be according to the word of God.
I was a divorcee since 2010 and I have been waiting for my children to grow up and begin to understand issues.
For your information, my kids are in love with my wife-to-be. They are friends. She has a good heart like me. She is a giver. She is generous.

Musindo also denied claims that he was 70 years old, insisting that he was 53. He said:

To be honest with you, no one can force me to marry a number. To say marry this 35-year-old. I’m not marrying for people, I’m marrying for myself.
I’m following my heart and those who are criticising, ‘Hee she’s young. Here she’s this. Obediah is 70’.
I’m not 70 years old. I’m turning 54 next year on the 25th of March. I was born in 1970 25th of March.
Currently, I’m 53, but I tell you the truth, this is what I get from people everywhere I go I look ten years younger, 10 years younger.

Traditionally, in Zimbabwe, a significant age gap between spouses was not an issue, with the husband typically being older than the wife.
However, in recent years, the significance of age difference in marriages has become less rigid and some people now emphasise factors such as compatibility, love, and shared values rather than solely considering age.
Meanwhile, Musindo was arrested in 2006 for allegedly raping his maid on five occasions in 2004. He denied the charges.

Reverend Obadiah Musindo (54) Pays Lobola For His 23-year-old Lover

Pastor Olinda Marowa was given a residential stand and an omnibus from Destiny of Africa Network at her fifth album launch held at 7 Arts Theatre on Friday.
Destiny of Africa Network founder and leader, Reverend Obediah Musindo implored gospel musicians to pray for the country and its leadership. Speaking at the album launch, Musindo said:
<blockquote>Zimbabwe is a Christian nation and must ever put on fire by gospel artists music.
Gospel music like that of Pastor Marowa has the power to heal and change people’s lives.
Gospel artists are supposed to lead Christians in praying for our leaders and the nation in what I can call Christian Clubs.

Marowa’s album launch was attended by the likes of Pastor Charles Charamba and Prophet Tapiwa Freddie.
Visiting guest artist Deborah Fraser, Mathias Mhere, Kudzi Nyakudya, Rumbie Zvirikuzhe and Bethany Pasinawako all took to the stage.

ZANU PF-aligned pastor who is the founder of the Destiny for Africa Network Obadia Misundo has refuted allegations that he is a land baron. Msindo is known for giving away residential stands all over the country.
The latest beneficiary of Msindo’s largesse is gospel singer Bethan Painawako-Ngolomi who was given a 300-square-metre residential stand in Kadoma.
While speaking at the launch of Bethan’s album launch in Harare on Friday night, Msindo said
<blockquote>Some people say I am a land baron, but I am different from those other land barons because my books are in order.
If former president Robert Mugabe would have been here, he would have said your operations are in order.
If you don’t work hard, you die. Work to eat. There are a lot of opportunities in this new dispensation. Grab those opportunities, get that mine, and get that farm. Faith without action is dirty.
We are coming out of those difficult 37 years and we need to give this new government a chance.
It will be a difficult time of transformation. We are coming out of Egypt and Canaan is nigh.</blockquote>
