A 37-year-old man was on Sunday found dead in a bush near Birchenough Bridge after having a sexual encounter with a 17-year-old girl.
The man, Kudakwashe Magaya Mushayi, had reportedly met the minor for the first time at a bus terminus.
He was found lying dead by a passerby and his body had no visible injuries and all his body parts were intact.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police’s (ZRP) acting spokesperson in Manicaland Province, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, could neither confirm nor deny the incident when contacted by <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/man-takes-advantage-of-minor-dies-in-the-act/">The Manica Post</a>.
However, according to a police memo that the publication has in its possession, an informant, Freeman Asima told the police that as he walking along a footpath on his way to his garden on 25 February, when he discovered the now late Mushayi lying on the ground under a tree.
Asima said he later came back using the same path at around 6 PM and realised that the body was still on the ground with no signs of life.
A police report was made on the same day, and they attended the scene.
Police found Mushayi’s body facing downwards with his grey shorts lifted halfway.
Preliminary investigations into the matter revealed that the now-deceased Mushayi met a 17-year-old girl (name withheld) at Birchenough Bridge.
The teenager was looking for her boyfriend, known as Webster, who had promised to pay her bus fare on a pay-forward agreement.
The teenager tried to get in touch with Webster on his mobile number, but he was not reachable.
She then divulged her predicament to the now late Mushayi, a tout (rank marshal) at Musharu Bus Terminus in Birchenough Bridge.
It is alleged that Mushayi promised to pay the teenager’s US$3 bus fare for her return journey home in exchange for sex and the teenager allegedly agreed to the arrangement. Reads the police memo:

The now-deceased made arrangements with the girl. ln the afternoon, the two boarded a vehicle and were dropped near Birchenough Bridge Hotel. They went to the bush and became intimate.
However, during intimacy, the now-deceased fell and became unconscious.
The teenager tried to offer help with no success. Out of fear, she left the now deceased lying on the ground and returned to Musharu Bus Terminus where she met with Webster.

Police managed to track down the teenager and she led them to the scene where no foreign objects were found.
She told the police that she got intimate with Mushayi before he collapsed and became unconscious.
A black wallet was on the ground and it contained US$1 and ZWL1 000, while a brown Bazooka radio was placed next to Mushayi’s body. A blue towel was on a tree trunk.

Rank Marshal (37) Takes Advantage Of Stranded 17-year-old Girl, Dies During Intimacy

Opposition political party, Alliance for the Peoples Agenda (APA), on Monday afternoon announced that its president Nkosana Moyo’s mother passed away.
APA did not disclose the cause of death but appealed to the public to give Moyo and his family space and privacy during the duration of the funeral. The announcement reads:

Nkosana Moyo's Mother Dies

Pastor Patrick Mugadza has claimed that there is a link between the prophecy he made that Robert Mugabe will die and his removal in November through Operation Restore Legacy. Mugadza is running for the Kariba parliamentary seat under the United Democracy Movement banner.
Responding to a question during an interview on Monday on whether the electorate will take him seriously considering that the prophecy did not come to pass, Mugadza said God had His own reasons for prolonging Mugabe’s death. Said Mugadza:
<blockquote>I said Mugabe will die on October 17 2017 if he does not go before God and ask for forgiveness. I said these words on 13 January 2017. Unfortunately people do not consider that there were conditions attached, because I said Mugabe will not die if he goes before God. Five days before the 17th of October I told people that God had postponed Mugabe’s death for reasons best known to Him. The reasons are what we saw that a month later Mugabe was removed from power. That development can be linked to the death prophesy I made with Mugabe’s removal symbolising a political death of some sort. People are contacting me saying ‘Pastor you had seen. Only that you had seen Mugabe’s physical death.’ There are people who have seen a link to Mugabe’s removal and the prophesy I made. I was the only one who made a prophesy closer to what happened to Mugabe in November.</blockquote>

Gospel musician Olinda Marowa has spoken on her husband Michael Mufaro Ziwenga’s death. Olinda said her husband died on Tuesday morning while admitted to West End Hospital in Harare after eating a salad which is suspected to have worsened his ulcers problem.
Said Olinda:
<blockquote>My husband died on Tuesday while admitted to West End hospital. He had been admitted complaining of stomach pains after eating some salad he had bought from a Harare supermarket. I know he had an ulcers problem. So we don’t know how the salad caused his death.</blockquote>
Grace Life Covenant Church Ministry Director Mr Killian Chinyadza said the late Pastor Ziwenga died after complaining of stomach pains on Tuesday at around 9am. Ziwenga will be buried at his rural home in Chivhu today. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Pastor Patrick Mugadza has backtracked on the prophesy he made that President Robert Mugabe will die on 17 October this year.<o:p></o:p>
Mugadza said that God has postponed Mugabe’s death to an unspecified date. Said Mugadza:<o:p></o:p>
<blockquote>About three days ago, I received word from God saying that the death of President Mugabe has been postponed to a later date which is not specific. It’s not like I have been praying so that he goes to prove myself right, but this is the word of God and it has to be delivered as it is.<o:p></o:p></blockquote>
When contacted for  comment by NewsDay, Information minister Simon Khaya Moyo yesterday laughed off Mugadza’s prediction, saying: <o:p></o:p>

Pastor Mugadza backtracks on Mugabe death prophesy, says God has postponed date

Pastor Patrick Mugadza told Daily News that he is praying for the death of President Robert Mugabe. Earlier this year, Mugadza prophesied that Mugabe will die on 17 October 2017. He said he is confident that the prophecy will come to pass.
Said Mugadza:
<blockquote>I am very much expectant of his excellency’s death. It is going to be a bit surprising because when I first said this my tone was a bit different. What I was saying then was I don’t wish that he dies that is why when I was asked what the president could do I just said he had to pray to God to change His mind. I have prayed about it and sent a video asking people to pray from August 22 to 24 that he dies. The only thing left for us is to pray that God takes him. I know a lot of people who wish him dead who have been calling me saying ‘pastor we are counting down’.</blockquote>

Pastor Mugadza praying for Mugabe to die next month

A Zimbabwean national, Allan Percy Ndlovu (26) died after a gunman opened fire into the crowd at Gift Amuli and Allan Ndoda’s joint album launch at Hillbrow Theatre in Johannesburg, South Africa. The two were launching an album titled “Yikholokho/Ndizvozvo” at an event hosted by Underground Entertainment stable owned by a Zimbabwean, Polite Nkomo aka PKY July who is based in South Africa.
Reports are that at around 2:15AM on Sunday, a suspected Zimbabwean male fan appeared on stage stating that he could not find his mobile phone and was in need of it in order for the show to progress. Seeing that the crowd was ignoring him, he fired random shots at them, killing one male fan and injuring eight others. Gauteng police suspect that the injured are all Zimbabweans.

1 killed, 8 injured after man opens fire during Gift Amuli & Allan Ndoda's concert in South Africa

Five-year-old Simon Vundla was discovered dead in the bush after he reportedly got lost on his way home. He died from the cold which was experienced throughout the country last weekend. He got lost on Friday and was discovered 20 km away from his home on Saturday after villagers launched a search.  A post-mortem established he died due to cold, dehydration and hunger.
Village head Mr. Johnson Ncube said:
<blockquote>Villagers suspect he may have died because of the intensely cold weather that was experienced in most parts of the country. It is questionable for a five-year-old to walk more than 20KM, especially considering that Simon is said to have complained of hunger and that he felt weak. Maybe he was enticed with food and later killed.
At the borehole, Simon complained of hunger to his sister Sithembiso Khanye who told him to go back home while others remained playing there. When the rest of the family arrived home they discovered that Simon had not come back.</blockquote>

Five-year-old starves and freezes to death after getting lost in Tsholotsho

Nokwazi Nkomo (17) returned home after having left on May 19 this year. Her family had to take DNA tests to establish if the body of a teenager who was allegedly murdered and dumped in Bulawayo’s Iminyela suburb was hers after her father, Mr Thulani Nkomo insisted that the corpse was hers based on a mark on the left leg.
Speaking to The Chronicle, Nkomo confirmed that the teenager whom they feared was dead was now home although they had not asked yet on where she had gone. Said Nkomo:
<blockquote>She came back. But we are yet to sit down as a family to discuss the issue. Generally we are happy that she is still alive. We haven’t asked her where she has been. We don’t want to scare her away.</blockquote>
Nokwazi’s family paid $200 to the National University of Science and Technology’s Applied Genetic Testing Centre (AGTC) DNA laboratory.

"Dead" teenage girl now back home

In a video posted on Facebook, Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) general secretary, Kenneth Mtata said President Robert Mugabe risks being struck to death by God like King Herod for accepting blasphemous titles from his followers.
Said Mtata:
<blockquote>We hear so many people whether they are artists or whether they are people who are in political parties who address, certain political figures with religious titles, sometimes even giving them titles of God or some vicars or assistants to God.
This is very scary, this level of blasphemy is very scary but it seems like it is something becoming normal. It is one such example of idolatry in our country where religious titles are given to political figures so that through this kind of praise they can share the benefits of patronage to these people who are praising them.
By the way, this is not very new, we saw it in the Book of Luke, for example, when we read of some people who came and praised Herod and they gave him some religious titles and we read in Luke that the angel of God struck Herod when he was sitting there and he died and he started rotting where he was sitting.
Idolatry does not only kill the possibility of individuals focusing on the right God but it also kills those that are receiving and enjoying these titles of worship.</blockquote>

Mugabe risks being “struck to death” by God for accepting blasphemous titles: ZCC

Former Zimbabwean footballer and football administrator Edzai Kasinauyo has died aged 42.
The news of his death was announced by Zifa on Twitter. Circumstances around his death are not yet known but he passed away in South Africa at the Donald Gordon Medical Centre in Johannesburg

Edzai Kasinauyo dies

Stanley Dube collapsed and died on Monday at around 7PM in Mpopoma suburb while making an announcement to mourners who had gathered for his cousin Ms Saziso Ncube’s funeral. Ncube who was involved in a car accident died on the spot after being thrown out while 12 others were injured after a Granvia vehicle they were travelling in overturned last Friday near Marula along the Bulawayo- Plumtree road.
The family’s spokesperson Mr Eckson Ncube told The Chronicle that when Dube collapsed they called an ambulance and the crew tried to resuscitate him but failed. He said the family is still trying to come to terms with two deaths in four days. Ncube said Ms Ncube will be buried today and Mr Dube tomorrow.

Man collapses & dies while making announcement at cousin's funeral

19 year old Adrian Manyathela of Bulawayo’s New Parklands suburb, who was studying in Ukraine died in unclear circumstances. Manyathela died following minor surgery on his ankle after an injury sustained during the soccer match. The family described the death as mysterious and there is speculation that there was medical malpractice.
Adrian’s father Adrian Manyathela said:
<blockquote>He was playing soccer against another university so he got injured after being tackled by another player and developed a closed fracture. He was taken to hospital for an operation and the doctor demanded $800 prior to conducting the surgery. But the operation was later done and I spoke to him after the surgery and he was positive about recovering.
The following day I was phoned by the university saying ‘we are sorry to inform you that Adrian Manyathela has died.
I responded saying ‘you are lying Adrian had just a small fracture he couldn’t have died.’ But they insisted so I had to look for his friends in trying to understand what was happening.
It was just a closed fracture.  How can that kill someone? We have consulted local medical experts who also ruled out that the injury could have killed him.

Zim student dies in Ukraine after undergoing ankle surgery

A student teacher at Hillside Teachers’ College, Kwanele Moyo (36) from Mzilikazi suburb in Bulawayo, collapsed and later died while doing gymnastics at the institution’s sports ground on Wednesday afternoon. She died at the college’s clinic where she had been taken for treatment.  It could not be established yesterday how advanced her pregnancy was.
Moyo becomes the second person to collapse and die at the teachers training college in a space of a week.  Last Friday an English lecturer, Paul Ndlovu, was found dead in his office after he had allegedly collapsed. Sources who spoke to The Chronicle said Moyo collapsed at about 3PM and died a few minutes later.

Hillside Teachers’ College records 2 sudden deaths in one week after pregnant student teacher collapses and dies while doing gymnastics

A Zimbabwean man, Ntando Ndlovu (36) from Matebeleland North Province died under unclear circumstances while being held at Lindela Deportation Facility in South Africa. Ndlovu is believed to have passed on on 8 December but his family only got to know of it this Tuesday.
Zimbabwe Consular General to South Africa, Mr Batiraishe Mukonoweshuro Said Ndlovu had been arrested for illegal migration. Speaking to The Chronicle, Ndlovu’s sister Samukeliso said that the South African authorities had taken time to inform them because Ntando did not carry any documentation on him. The elder brother, Simon was advised to visit the Registry Office to sign an affidavit to enable them to collect the body which will be buried as soon as it arrives in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwean man (36) dies while being held at Lindela Deportation Facility in South Africa

Patrick Mugadza a pastor from Kariba, has claimed that <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Robert_Mugabe">President Mugabe</a> will celebrate his birthday for the last time this year.  The man of the cloth revealed that he received the revelation on the 26th of December 2016. However, Mugadza said that if the President could escape death by praying, fasting and publicly confessing that he does not want to die.
In an interview Mugadza said:
<blockquote>I just want to tell you something concerning the year 2017. It is a very special year because of number SEVEN and at the same time also, 2017 collides with 37 years by which Zanu PF has been ruling this beautiful nation of Zimbabwe, but something is going to be happening also, which is very critical for us to know
It was on the 26th of December 2016 when I was in prayer and God said to me this coming year 2017 the President is dying and he told me that he is dying on 17th of October, like I said earlier on that I am not happy for somebody to die but, this is something that is going to happen.
…He has to go public about it but he is old anyway. I think its ok for him to go home</blockquote>
He is not the first “prophet” to prophecy of the president’s imminent demise, and so far all the predictions have been wide off the mark.

Kariba Prophet says Mugabe has been ruining Zimbabwe and that he will die on 17 October 2017

A <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Bulawayo">Bulawayo woman</a>, Eunice Sibanda (52) of Tshabalala suburb and a teacher at Masuku Primary School, collpased and died on Wednesday while standing in a queue at <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Plumtree">Plumtree</a> Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) trying to obtain a driver’s licence.
Speaking to The Chronicle, her daughter, Ms Lisa Sibanda, said her mother left for Plumtree in the morning where she intended to undergo a road test to obtain a driver’s licence. She said:
<blockquote>My mum left early yesterday morning (Wednesday) for Plumtree. We were hoping to congratulate her since she was going to undergo a road test. We were shocked to receive a call in the afternoon from Plumtree saying that my mum had collapsed. We rushed to Plumtree but when we got there. VID officials directed my uncles to check for her body at a mortuary.</blockquote>

Woman dies in VID queue to obtain driver's licence

The manager of Masvingo Spar, Emmanuel Mwale, drowned after the car he was driving was swept away at a flooded bridge he was attempting to cross on Sunday. Mwale was trapped in the car and his body was only recovered two days later. Reports indicated he may have been drunk when he attempted to make the crossing in his Nissan X-Trail.
Said Masvingo provincial police spokesperson:
<blockquote>“It is unfortunate that the case we were dealing with ended up in tragedy which claimed the life of Emmanuel Mwale. Drivers should be careful when driving during the rainy season so as to prevent any mishap that may come along the way. It is also important to avoid drinking and driving,”</blockquote>
