<p><span><strong><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Chill_Spot_Records">Chillspot Records</a></strong> producer, <strong><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Levelz">DJ Levels</a></strong> born <strong><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Levelz">Tafadzwa Kadzimwe</a></strong> is now only facing charges of violating the Data Protection Act upon indication that his accuser, <strong><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Shashl">Shashl</a></strong> real name <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Shashl"><strong>Ashleigh Angel Moyo</strong></a> intends to withdraw rape charges against him.</span></p>
<p><span> He appeared in court this Tuesday (today) on charges of contravening the Data Protection Act and was freed on ZWL$20 000 bail, according to ZBC News.</span></p>
<p><span>The rape and physical abuse charges have been referred back to the police for further management upon indications that Shashl intends to withdraw on certain conditions. </span></p>
<p><span>DJ Levels was not asked to plead to the charges when he appeared in court today and was ordered to return to court on January 20 when he may be charged with violating some sections of the Data Protection Act. </span></p>
<p><span>Harare magistrate Mrs Kudzai Zihove released him on $20 000 bail. </span></p>
<p><span>Mr Pardon Dziva appeared for the State while lawyer Mr Dumisani Mtombeni represented DJ Levels.</span></p>

Shashl Intends To Withdraw Rape Charges Against Levels On Certain Conditions

<p><span>The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating allegations that <strong><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Chillspot_Records">Chillspot Records</a></strong> co-producer, <strong><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Levelz">Tafadzwa “Levels” Kadzimwe</a></strong>, raped his former girlfriend <strong><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Shashl">Ashleigh</a><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Shashl"><strong> “S</strong>hashal” Moyo</a></strong> sometime in 2021.</span></p>
<p><span>Levels (33) started dating Shashl (23), the daughter of former Health minister <strong><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Obadiah_Moyo">Obadiah Moyo</a></strong>, sometime in July 2021, according to H-Metro.</span></p>
<p><span>It is said the affair ended because Levels was forcing Shashal to have unprotected sex with him.</span></p>
<p><span>Shashl disclosed this in her rape case against Levels following their separation and the leakage of their nudes and a sex tape.</span></p>
<p><span>Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case saying Levels faces rape charges as defined in Section 65(1)(9) of the Codification. Insp Chakanza told <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/chillspot-is-a-love-nest-levels-now-faces-rape-allegations/">H-Metro</a>:</span></p>

<p><span><em>Police are investigating a case involving a Chillspot Records worker alleged to have raped a musician after inviting her to his house sometime in July 2021.</em></span></p>
<p><span><em>The accused person and the complainant were not yet in a relationship, but were working together in music at Chillspot Records in Mbare.</em></span></p>
<p><span><em>On an unknown date in July 2021, the accused was reported to have asked the complainant to pass through his place of residence to take his car since they were using the complainant’s car and they were coming from the studio.</em></span></p>
<p><span><em>When they were at the accused’s place, they got inside the house and, while inside the house, they started kissing, at the same time the accused pushed the complainant into his bedroom.</em></span></p>
<p><span><em>The complainant stopped kissing and informed the accused that she wanted to get home before curfew time.</em></span></p>
<p><span><em>When the complainant was about to leave the bedroom, the accused grabbed the complainant and raped her.</em></span></p>
<p><span><em>After the act, the complainant ran away from the scene and went home.</em></span></p>
<p><span><em>The matter came to light when the accused person posted some nude videos and pictures of him and the complainant on social media.</em></span></p>
<p><span><em>The complainant said the reason for sending the nudes and sex tape was because they broke up and this did not go down well with the accused person</em>.</span></p>

<p><span>Levels hasn’t been arrested as yet. </span></p>
<p><span>Meanwhile, some internet users say Shashl is framing Levels because of the way their relationship ended.</span></p>

Police Investigating Allegations That Levels Raped Shashl

<p>The Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (ZIMURA) says it is not maliciously withholding royalties to DJ Levels of Chillspot Records but the music promoter has not yet provided ZIMURA with the information required for the money to be released.</p>
<p>In a letter to Levels dated 30 April 2021, ZIMURA said that in the interests of fairness, the music producer/promoter should provide the documents with the details of the musicians that he has worked with so that no one will reap where they did no sow. The letter read:</p>
<blockquote><p>It has come to ZIMURA’s attention that Levels – ChillSpot and the General Public may not be aware of ZIMURA operations and have misconceptions that for one to get their royalties for airplay, they have to be a member of The Zimbabwe Music Rights Association and that is incorrect.</p>
<p>In fact, some artists who are not ZIMURA Members have been receiving their royalties for a number of years now.</p>
<p>In our responses to Levels via Instagram it was made clear to him that all he has to do is to notify the Organisation, in detail, all his works by filling out Notification Forms and Split Sheets which define in detail the share splits with the artists he has worked with so that each artist gets what is due to him.</p>
<p>The reason why ZIMURA is withholding these royalties in question is because Levels has not cleared the splits above.</p>
<p>He has also not created dialogue with the office yet he has been made aware of what he has to do.</p>
<p>ZIMURA is fair in its distributions and it would not like to see one artist reaping from another artist’s fruits, meaning that for the works in question it is not only Levels who has to be given royalties and this needs to be corrected as soon as possible by Levels and the artists.</p>
<p>ZIMURA would also like to take this opportunity to dispel the notion that it has not paid out any royalties to any ZimDancehall Artist since the inception of the genre as some of the artists are members of the Organisation and have been collecting their royalties over the years.</p>
<p>We encourage artists to engage with ZIMURA so they can understand its operations and its limits before they take on social media and to the general public we would also encourage them to inform themselves prior to making judgements so they can share their views from an informed position.</p>
<p>ZIMURA is organising a Webinar to discuss such and other issues with various Stakeholders including Artists; Producers; Record Labels and other Arts Associations.</p></blockquote>


ZIMURA, DJ Levels Row Over Royalties Exposed

<p>Popular entertainers, DJ Fantan (real name Arnold Kamudyariwa ) and Levelz (real name Rodger Tafadzwa Kadzimwe) have crowned themselves COVID-19 ambassadors as they announce their decision to embark on a COVID-19 awareness campaign.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/01/21/just-in-djs-fantan-levelz-dammer-granted-bail/">duo is out on bail pending appeal</a> after they were convicted for hosting a New Year bash in Mbare in clear defiance of the government’s directive on social gatherings.</p>
<p>In a video posted on Chillspot record label’s Facebook page, Levels and DJ Fantan said:</p>

<li>People should properly wear their masks and not put them on their chins</li>
<li>People should not be at any gatherings as they risk spreading the virus</li>
<li>People should observe social distance guidelines.</li>
<li>People should limit unnecessary movement or what they called saskam rounds</li>
<li>People should adhere to government-stipulated COVID-19 restrictions like curfews.</li>

<p>Chillspot Recordz has released a statement following the <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/dhama-fantan-levels-sentenced-to-12-months-in-prison/">imprisonment of 2 popular DJs Fantan and Levels</a> for their participation in the New Year bash in Mbare in defiance of the government’s COVID-19 restrictions.</p>
<p>The statement was released by one Rhibhe Chillspot Mandaza who is the CEO of Chillspots Records according to his profile on Facebook. Mandaza in the statement released on Twitter said they were puzzled by the harsh sentence against the DJs he described as young family men bearing in mind that the 2 are not criminals.</p>
