A <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/University_of_Zimbabwe/">University of Zimbabwe</a> lecturer, Vongai Chakanyuka, who is also a medical doctor, appeared before Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje facing fraud charges involving US$135,000, <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200017696/uz-lecturer-in-trouble-over-us135-000-fraud">NewsDay</a> reported citing court papers.
What happened: It is alleged that Chakanyuka, along with her late husband Pardon Chakanyuka, sold stand number 48 Borrowdale Township of Subdivision E of Lot H Borrowdale Estate measuring 3 624sqm in 2017 to local businessman McLeod Mapanga for US$135,000 but withheld the title deeds. The transfer of the property was supposed to be carried out by Chakanyuka and Associates Law Firm, owned by the accused’s husband. However, the transfer was not completed before Mapanga passed away in 2018.
After Mapanga’s death, his estate was registered and Pardon was appointed as the executor. The accused and her husband did not transfer the property at that stage. Later, the accused fraudulently pledged the property as security for a debt owed to Bell Petroleum (Pvt) Ltd, despite the property being sold and possession given to Mapanga and his beneficiaries.
Pardon passed away, and the accused included the property in her late husband’s estate, despite not completing the transfer. As a result, the complainant was prejudiced of US$135,000, and no recovery has been made. The accused will face trial on October 16.

University Of Zimbabwe Lecturer, A Medical Doctor Faces Over US$135,000 Fraud Charges

The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has requested Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister Paul Mavima to respond publicly to allegations that he bought a US$350 000 Borrowdale house through the National Social Security Authority (NSSA).
Media reports claim Mavima facilitated the property deal without following due process.
In a statement dated 28 February 2023, ZCTU acting secretary-general Kudakwashe Munengiwa said:

The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions notes with concern the corruption allegations relating to the purchase of a Borrowdale house being levelled against the Minister of Labour and urge him to come clean.
Mavima is accused of arm-twisting NSSA to buy him a house valued at US$350 000 while promising to pay back later after receiving his US$500 000 housing allowance awarded to Cabinet ministers.
Upon purchase, it is said the house was sold to Mavima before the property could be entered into NSSA books.
We note that funds used to purchase the said property are pensioners’ contributions and investments.
It is, therefore, prudent for the minister as the custodian of those funds to come clean on the matter.

The ZCTU is concerned that powerful individuals continue to manipulate systems to bleed NSSA while payouts and benefits remained paltry.
Contacted for comment by <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200008483/come-clean-on-us359k-deal-zctu-tells-mavima">NewsDay</a> on Tuesday, Mavima said:
I have no comment. There is a forensic audit underway. It should remain objective and not tainted with comments from the minister.

ZCTU Demands That Minister Mavima Publicly Responds To US$350k Borrowdale House Allegations

President Emmerson Mnangagwa could force the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/National_Social_Security_Authority">National Social Security Authority (NSSA)</a> to reverse a US$400 000 house purchase deal in Quinnington, Borrowdale, Harare, involving Public Service minister <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Paul_Mavima">Paul Mavima</a>. 
NSSA acting general manager, Charles Shava, was summoned to Mnangagwa and Vice President Chiwenga’s offices last week Monday to explain what was happening. 
Shava was asked to write a report on the purchase of the house which NSSA eventually sold to Mavima. That was before he was arrested later in the week — on Thursday — on allegations of fraud. 
The NewsHawks was told by anonymous sources in the Office of the President and Cabinet that Shava could be forced to reverse the deal. The source was quoted as saying:

The issue is now being handled by Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda. There is mounting pressure for urgent action to be taken. Shava might be brought to book or forced to reverse the deal, which is likely.
</blockquote>
These events were before Shava was arrested on allegations of fraud involving US$12.2 million. His arrest for allegedly giving doctors allowances without board approval was seen as a fightback by the minister.
Shava was picked up by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission a day before a disciplinary hearing for NSSA director Brian Mrewa. 
Mrewa, NSSA’s suspended director for investments and properties, helped Mavima in his Borrowdale house deal. He was the one who facilitated everything on that. 
Through his legal advisers, Shava has described the allegations as baseless and unfounded. However, his accusers say he has to clear his name before the courts if he is innocent as he pleads. 
<h2><a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/minister-mavima-causes-nssa-to-buy-himself-borrowdale-house/">The Borrowdale House saga:</a></h2>
<blockquote>
i). It is alleged that NSSA bought Borrowdale house secretly on behalf of Mavima.
ii). Due process and board approvals to buy the Quinnington house, Stand No. 218 Lot A1, were not followed.
iii). The property was valued at US$350 000, but US$400 000 was paid by NSSA, creating room for US$50 000 to go into private pockets. The transaction was executed on 3 October 2022.
iv). The house was not transferred to NSSA books before it was sold to Mavima. 
v). The house was registered under a special purpose vehicle, Angvo Investments (Pvt) Ltd and the deeds were under CABS custodial services, not CBZ Custodial Services who are the custodians of NSSA assets bought through asset management firms.
vi). <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/minister-mavima-causes-nssa-to-buy-himself-borrowdale-house/">Minister Mavima allegedly initiated the deal</a> as he identified the property which belonged to one Seremane and asked NSSA to buy and keep it for him while he awaited the disbursement of his US$500 000 housing allowance given to each cabinet minister by the government.
vii). The issue came to light when Shava directed NSSA deputy director (audit) Andrew Nyakonda on 16 February to conduct an investigation into the disposal of the Borrowdale house and the purchase of Kariba Lodge, Stand No. 989 Kariba Township, for US$244 000.

<h2>Kariba commercial property:</h2>
<blockquote>
a). The commercial property was bought for US$215 000 after negotiations, but US$244 000 was paid. 
b). When other costs were added, the price went up to US$252 631.59. 
c). Since NSSA usually pays round figures, US$300 000 was paid. The balance was purportedly directed to its investment account held at the asset management firm which facilitated the deal.

When the deals were reported in the media, Mrewa skipped the border into South Africa.

ED Could Force NSSA To Reverse House Deal For Minister Mavima

Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Paul_Mavima">Paul Mavima</a>, has been accused of causing the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/National_Social_Security_Authority">National Social Security Authority (NSSA)</a> to buy a <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Borrowdale">Borrowdale</a> house for himself.
It is alleged that while the house in Quinnington, Borrowdale, Harare was valued at US$350 000, NSSA paid US$400 000 and eventually sold the house to Mavima before the property could be entered into its books. 
The NewsHawks report that the property deal was done secretly on behalf of Mavima.
Allegations:
<blockquote>
i). It is alleged that Mavima identified the property and asked NSSA to buy and keep it for him while he awaited disbursement of his US$500 000 housing allowance given to each cabinet minister. 
ii). The deal came to light when NSSA’s acting general manager, Charles Shava, ordered deputy director of audit, Andrew Nyakonda, on 16 February to conduct an investigation into the sale of the Borrowdale house and the purchase of a Kariba Lodge for US$244 000.
iii). The deal and the Kariba Lodge transactions were driven by NSsA investments and properties director Brian Murewa, who is said to have jumped the border into South Africa.

The NewsHwaks report that Shava who replaced suspended general manager, Arthur Manase, is being attacked over the audit he ordered.
On December 29, Paul Mavima wrote to NSSA board chairperson Percy Toriro recommending Agnes Masiiwa to replace Shava.
Vice president <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Constantino_Chiwenga">Constantino Chiwenga</a> who was the acting president reversed <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2023/01/03/nssa-announces-new-acting-general-manager/">Masiiwa’s appointment</a> saying it was in violation of corporate governance.
NSSA general manager Arthur Manase was suspended in July 2022 and senior executives were supposed to be appointed on a rotational basis to fill the position in an acting capacity.
NSSA also bought a property in Kariba valued at US$220 000. The property was bought for US$215 000 after negotiations, but US$244 000 was paid. This means US$29 000 was siphoned.

"Minister Mavima Causes NSSA To Buy Himself A Borrowdale House"

Dynamos coach Tonderai Ndiraya’s Ford Everest has been impounded by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) for not having number plates.
ZRP launched an operation on Saturday targeting unregistered vehicles and those without number plates, saying they were being used by criminals in the commission of rapes, armed robberies, kidnappings, among other crimes.
Soccer24 reported a source as saying Ndiraya’s car, which he got from the club’s sponsors Sakunda Holdings, has been taken to Borrowdale Police Station. Said the source:

Yes, the Police impounded Ndiraya’s S.U.V. He was stopped along Borrowdale Road and the vehicle did not have number plates, so inevitably, it was impounded.

Ndiraya and his Highlanders counterpart Mandla Mpofu got the luxury SUVs as part of Sakunda’s sponsorship package for the two clubs, unveiled in December last year.
On Wednesday, national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed 5 841 vehicles had been impounded. He said:

Since the onset of the operation on 15th January 2022, a total of 5 841 motorists have been accounted for.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police applauds the public for the cooperation which has been received by officers throughout the country in enforcing the law and bringing sanity on the country’s roads.
… The Zimbabwe Republic Police, therefore, reiterates that all vehicles not displaying permanent number plates should be parked whilst awaiting the necessary registration process.
It is a fact that police investigations have shown that vehicles with no registration plates are being used to commit robbery, murder, rape, kidnapping, unlawful entry as well as hit-and-run road traffic accidents in the country.

Police Seize Dynamos Coach's Plateless Ford Everest

A “sweet-talking” fraudster is on the police’s wanted list after she allegedly duped Borrowdale residents of their money, after promising and failing to deliver various goods since January 2021.
The suspect, Chiyedza Blessing Tichareva, reportedly conned a number of families, including high-profile people, in the Borrowdale suburb.
Her pictures are circulating on the Borrowdale and Greystone Park WhatsApp groups, with one of the messages posted in the groups saying:

That lady has been staying with one of the gardeners without the knowledge of the house owner along Gaydon Road.
She has a sweet tongue and a number of her victims have even failed to report their cases, in a way to protect their names.
</blockquote>
One of Tichareva’s alleged victims only identified as Patience told H-Metro that she lost US$100 to the alleged con artist. She said:
<blockquote>
It is now worrying that there are women targeting other women.
I lost US$100 after she promised to bring me blankets.
She has a sweet tongue, anyone can easily trust her and I fall victim.
I met her while I was looking for water, she told me that she had a boutique at Eastgate Mall and that she crosses to South Africa every week, to bring blankets.
She lied about owning a house and we later found out she was being accommodated by a gardener who never told his employer.
Muridzi weimba anogara kunze kwenyika saka gardener akamugarisapo achiti imba yemukoma wake achimubhadharisa mari ndokuwana kwaakaita nguva yekubira vanhu.
(The landlord stays in South Africa so the gardener accommodated her after telling her that the house belongs to his brother. He made her pay rent and that’s how she stayed at the house long enough to defraud residents).

Patience lodged a police report in June, under RRB 4742205, at Borrowdale Police Station.
It is believed many other cases are still to be reported.
Meanwhile, Tichareva is reported to have relocated to Marlborough.

'Sweet-talking' Fraudster Targeted Borrowdale Residents

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA), has advised that some areas in Coleford, Ruwa and Borrowdale shall be without power starting Wednesday. The power utility said it has scheduled critical maintenance in affected areas. Pindula News presents ZETDC’s notices below.

ZESA Notice About Planned Power Supply Interruption: Coleford, Ruwa, Borrowdale

A Harare landlord, Kundai Muradzikwa, appeared in court for stealing US$32 000 cash and jewellery worth US$152 000 from a tenant.
Muradzikwa appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi charged with unlawful entry and was released on free bail after the court noted that he was coming from home and not police custody.
Prosecutor Anesu Chirenje told the court that on an unknown date, Muradzikwa allegedly seized keys from the tenant, Luminitsa Kimberly Jemwa’s maid and ordered her to vacate the place because her boss was delaying in paying rentals as well as electricity bills.
It is alleged that Muradzikwa unlawfully entered Jemwa’s house in her absence and stole money amounting to US$32 000, two watches and jewellery, all valued at US$152 000.
A report was made to the police, leading to Muradzikwa’s arrest.
The maid also filed a complaint against Borrowdale Police Station officers who allegedly released the accused after alleged interference by his mother, Grace Muradzikwa.
In her affidavit, the complainant said Muradzikwa’s mother bragged that she was a commissioner, threatening to report the officers to Police Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga if they did not release her 
son.
The maid said the police then released the accused, fearing backlash from their bosses.
Grace is the Insurance and Pensions Commission, commissioner.

Landlord Steals Cash, Goods Worth US$190 000 From Tenant

The ZANU PF secretary for finance and acting political commissar Patrick Chinamasa’s Borrowdale home suffered extensive damage from a fire that broke out on Friday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the inferno between 3.30 and 4 PM and managed to save part of the house from destruction.
Chinamasa revealed that his one-year-old grandson was rescued unharmed from the main bedroom where the fire was first detected following what he described as a “boom sound”.
He, however, ruled out foul play, and described the fire as “an accident, an act of God.” Chinamasa said in a statement:

Thank God the child’s mother, who had just arrived back from work, and the housekeeper managed to rescue the baby.
The main bedroom, the bedroom where the fire originated from and my study were all gutted by the fire and reduced to ashes. Nothing was saved from these rooms.
The Fire Brigade arrived in time to save the dining room, the lounge, the kitchen and the two remaining bedrooms.
As to the cause of the fire, I am suspecting an electrical fault. I am ruling out completely any foul play.
Enemies may celebrate my misfortune but I believe there was no enemy hand behind this incident.
I know social media will be awash with all sorts of speculations. This I have no power to stop.
What I know from the bottom of my heart is that this was an accident, an act of God.

Chinamasa said he had been left “severely traumatised” by the incident, which he said destroyed all that he had worked for over the years, leaving him with only the clothes on his back. He added:

It’s not easy to accept that what we have worked for all our lives has gone up in smoke in a matter of seconds.
All that we have remained with are the clothes we were wearing. The furniture, clothes, blankets, files, documents, records, manuscripts, family photos… everything, and above all my priceless and irreplaceable library is now just a heap of ash and rubble.

Chinamasa invoked the biblical Job whose story of keeping the faith no matter how grim the circumstances of life inspires Christians. He said:

In conversations with friends and relatives, I find myself fielding Job-like questions but I want to assure all who care for my welfare that in God I trust and he will provide.
</blockquote>
Chinamasa has experienced his fair share of misfortunes in recent months. <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/07/11/chinamasa-hospitalised-after-he-was-involved-in-an-accident/">In July this year, he was involved in a car crash at the 12-kilometre peg after Rusape,</a> before the tollgate, and spent some time in hospital recovering from his injuries.
Speaking from his hospital bed, <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/07/13/airbags-saved-my-life-chinamasa-speaks-from-hospital/">Chinamasa said he escaped death by the skin of his teeth but urged people not to panic.</a> He added:

Radio personality, KVG born Kudzai Violet Gwara posted pictures of her Borrowdale home on social media saying she could not believe that she was now a homeowner. She said:

When some expressed disbelief in what they were seeing, KVG said:

KVG however, did not reveal details of how she got her new home only stating she entered into a partnership with westpropertyzimbabwe.

KVG Shares Pictures Of Her Borrowdale Home

Construction work at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s multi-million-dollar, yet unsightly, house at the corner of Crowhill and Wheeldon roads in Borrowdale suburb has stalled, three years after it commenced, The NewsHawks report.
The property was being built as part of President Mnangagwa’s state package since normally the President and vice-presidents are given state properties to live.
Mnangagwa moved out of his house in Helensvale, Borrowdale, in Harare after security concerns were raised as it was felt that the residence was not well protected.
This prompted the government to speed up renovations at the President’s spacious residence.
However, Mnangagwa later relocated from 355 El Shaddai Road in Helensvale to Zimbabwe House, opposite State House.
The cessation of construction of the house raises concerns about the waste of taxpayers’ money building a massive house – that looks nondescript from outside – which is later abandoned.
From the Wheeldon side, where the main entrance is located, the security structure that was being constructed looks derelict with only scaffolds remaining onsite.
The gate with the inscription “Number 14 in Wheeldon” shows that the yard was previously being used as a lodge.
The view from Crowhill Road also shows a deserted construction site, with no activity except for the scaffolds that have been there for months.

The Zimbabwe Anti-corruption Commission (ZACC) says it will investigate corruption allegations levelled against former First Lady Grace Mugabe and a group of her associates.
This comes after complaints were lodged with ZACC and the Special Anti-Corruption Unit (SACU) in the President’s Office against Mugabe and former Local Government, Public Works and Urban Development Minister Ignatius Chombo.
Mugabe and Chombo allegedly grabbed residential stands worth US$10 million without paying from an upmarket development on State land in Borrowdale.
The complaints were lodged by Arosume Property Development (Pvt) Limited, who were appointed as developers for the land on Carrick Creagh Estate allocated to Sally Mugabe Housing Co-operative in 2005.
They allege that Mugabe and Chombo used their political clout to transfer stands from the development to companies they controlled without paying for that land.
John Makamure, the ZACC spokesperson, said they will investigate all reported cases of corruption without fear or favour. Said Makamure:

Arosume alleges Mugabe transferred to companies under the directorship of two of her children, Bona and Robert Mugabe Jnr, seven stands totalling just under 10,2ha.
Chombo is alleged to have grabbed land worth almost US$1 million with three stands totalling 2,2ha allocated to three firms including Comverol Enterprises and Cavford Trading.

ZACC Investigates Grace Mugabe Borrowdale Land Deals

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has reportedly completed building a new luxurious mansion in Harare’s upmarket Borrowdale suburb.
The NewsHwawks reported sources saying Chiwenga is expected to move into his new home soon, with truckloads of property, groceries and expensive whiskey recently delivered to the mansion.
The property was constructed in recent months by Chinese nationals who fitted it with the latest technology to bolster his security, at a cost of several millions of dollars.
The house is located along Manombe Close in Carrick Creagh Estate in Borrowdale and has been dubbed the “White House”, an epithet borrowed from the United States president’s neo-classical, palladian official residence and workplace in Washington DC.
Following his acrimonious separation from his wife, Marry in 2019, Chiwenga moved out of their matrimonial home at No.614 Nick Price Road in Zimbabwe’s prime housing estate, Borrowdale Brooke.
Chiwenga’s divorce matter is still pending in court, although he has unilaterally selected the property he prefers giving to his wife.
He got her arrested and detained for a long time, accused her of being a drug addict and also seized their children.
Chiwenga is currently staying at the Golden Peacock Villa Hotel along Kingsmead Road in Borrowdale in Harare owned by Anjin — a joint venture between the Ministry of Defence and a Chinese investor.
His former wife, Jocelyn, who he hounded out of the house which was then inscribed C&amp;J (Constantino and Jocelyn), now lives in the hilltop house in the Brooke.
The house was replaced by C&amp;M (Constantino and Marry) when he married Marry Mubaiwa, but the inscriptions have since been taken down.
Marry is now staying with her parents in Glen Lorne.

Data reportedly released by The City Of Harare has revealed that one of Zimbabwe’s Northern suburbs Borrowdale is the suburb that was hit the hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic as more people from the suburb tested positive for the virus.

COVID-19 Statistics Show Borrowdale Has The Most COVID-19 Cases In Harare

A Harare woman has narrated how she was ‘robbed’ of US$200.00 by police officers manning a roadblock at the intersection of Borrowdale Road and Churchill Avenue in Harare on Friday evening.
She said she was driving home after picking her 12-year-old son from extra-lessons when the cops flagged her down.
Initially, they asked for her driver’s licence which they then seized after she had produced it.
She added that the cops, among them a man and a woman, then told her that she was under arrest for not properly wearing her face mask.
The cops told her that since it was late on Friday, they were sending her to Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison and will be made to pay ZWL$20 000 for the alleged offence on Monday.
Her mother and cousin, who she has called, eventually came separately to the scene but unsuccessfully tried to reason with the officers to let her go.
The cops initially demanded a US$250.00 ‘fine’, and she managed to offer them US$200, ‘just to let her go home’.
After asking one of the officers at the roadblock why they demanded ‘fines’, the officer told her that the roadblock was unique as it was the only one that made such demands.
What was ironic was that the majority of motorists were allowed to go even though they didn’t have face masks. Even the officers themselves were not wearing masks.
The woman believes she was made to pay US$200.00 for her freedom simply because she was driving a Mercedes Benz and the cops thought she had the money.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has reportedly moved out of his matrimonial Borrowdale Brooke mansion and is now staying at the Golden Peacock Villa Hotel located along Kingsmead Road in Borrowdale in Harare.
Chiwenga’s new home is owned by Anjin Investments (Pvt) Ltd – a joint venture between Chinese company Anhui Foreign Economic Construction (Group) Co. Ltd and a Zimbabwean entity Matt Bronze Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd, owned by the military, founded in December 2009.
The former army general reportedly relocated to the villa for security and personal reasons.
Chiwenga evicted his estranged wife Marry from the Borrowdale mansion (inscribed C&amp;M – Constantino &amp; Marry) with the assistance of the army before the courts granted him the right to occupy the house.
Marry lost control of the house after Chiwenga got her arrested on allegations of attempted murder, fraud and money laundering in December last year.
NewsHawks has established that security has been beefed up since Chiwenga’s move into the Chinese villa. In addition to private security, there are also soldiers guarding the hotel.

In an unfortunate incident that occurred in Crowhill in Borrowdale, a speeding bulk water delivery truck hit 2 teenagers aged 13 and 14 who were cycling at the intersection of Crowhill Road and Firstly Drive, The Herald reports. The 14-year-old died on the spot while the 13-year-old died on admission at Parirenyatwa Hospital.
ZRP National Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the sad incident and said:
<blockquote>We are saddened by an accident that took the lives of two children, one aged 14 and the other 13. The accident took place on the intersection of Crowhill Road and Firstly Drive in Borrowdale. It is said that a bulk water supplier truck was speeding along Crowhill and wanted to turn into Firstly Drive and hit a bicycle that was being ridden by the boys.
The 14-year-old boy died on the spot while the other died a Parirenyatwa Hospital upon admission. It is very saddening and we would like to urge drivers to be cautious looking out on all sides of the road and knowing that the roads are also used by cyclists and pedestrians.</blockquote>
Residents who spoke to the publication said they wished the trucks were banned from their community:

Speeding Bulk Water Delivery Truck Kills 2 Cycling Teenagers In Borrowdale

Thieves broke into former Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Energy Mutodi’s Borrowdale home and went away with 30 pairs of designer suits worth US$11 000, among other valuables.
The thieves, brothers Denver and Cosmos Zvomuya, Fidelis Martin Mandaza and Pardon Magombo were arrested and have since appeared in court charged with theft.
The Zvomuya brothers and Mandaza admitted to the charges when they appeared before Harare magistrate Sheunesu Matowa.
However, Magombo denied the charges saying he was only hired to ferry the property and did not know it was stolen.
Mutodi was summarily fired on Wednesday evening by President Emmerson Mnangagwa following several indiscretions since his appointment in 2018

Thieves Ransack Mutodi's Borrowdale Mansion

A Harare businessman, Tafungiswa Kennedy Jasi of Borrowdale was arrested after he was found to be in possession of cutting utensils, a cutting agent, a scale and cocaine worth $18 000, The Herald reports.
According to the publication:
<blockquote>On April 30, detectives received information that Jasi was a cocaine dealer and proceeded to Borrowdale where they mounted an ambush.
They were monitoring movements at the house when Jasi came driving a Ford Ranger. The detectives stopped him and searched his vehicle and found sachets of cocaine which were stashed under the steering wheel.
They further searched his house and found more granules of crack cocaine, cutting utensils, cutting agent and a scale in Jasi’s bedroom, which they seized.
Jasi was arrested and taken to CID drugs and narcotics where field tests were conducted and the substance recovered was proven to be cocaine weighing 221 grammes.</blockquote>
Jasi was remanded in custody after the state opposed bail and said he was at flight risk.

Although at this time we have no confirmed cases of the virus reported in the country, we see the Government’s decision as an attempt to get ahead of the curve as the nation ups its game in the global fight against the epidemic.
As Celebration Churches International, we are honouring the Government’s recommendation to suspend all gatherings of more than 100 persons with immediate effect.
In the context of Celebration Churches within Zimbabwe, those Churches within the stipulated number should continue to meet but exercise due to caution and follow the prescribed health guidelines.
We encourage Churches that are beyond the stated guidelines to be innovative and creative in finding safe ways of hosting their Church meetings without violating the Government stipulation.
Further, we would like to announce that there will be no public church gathering for our Sunday Service at Celebration Church Borrowdale.
A core team of fewer than 100 people will come in on Sunday to facilitate a Sunday Service which will be streamed live for all our members and Churches to watch and be involved in from their homes.

CABS Payment System Hacked, Hacker Withdrawing Funds From Some Accounts - Report

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has reportedly locked her estranged wife <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Marry_Chiwenga" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Marry Chiwenga nee Mubaiwa</a> out of their <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Borrowdale" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Borrowdale</a> Mansion following her arrest on Saturday.
Marry’s lawyer’s <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Beatrice_Mtetwa" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Beatrice Mtetwa</a> told the Daily News that men who claimed to be Zimbabwe Anti-corruption Commission (ZACC) detectives pounced on the VP’s wife while she was in her bedroom and naked and took her away. Added Mtetwa:

VP Chiwenga Locks Enstranged Wife Out Borrowdale Mansion - REPORT

Five people are reported to have died on the spot whilst a huge number of others sustained serious injuries in a road accident that occurred at the intersection of Harare Drive and Borrowdale road robots this morning.
The accident involved a pick-up truck and a haulage truck.
The Herald arrived at the accident scene and observed that the bodies of the deceased were yet to be collected while the injured had been ferried to nearest hospitals.

PICTURES: At Least 5 Dead, Many Injured In Horrific Road Accident

Douglas Mombeshora, former Minister of Lands, and his wife, Millicent Mombeshora have lost their attempt to claim ownership of a piece of land in Borrowdale.
The duo claimed to be co-owners of the land which was bought by a Harare businessman, Tendai Jemwa through a public auction conducted by the Sheriff of the High Court.
Mombeshora and his wife had approached the courts arguing that Jemwa was denying the duo permission to enter, use and enjoy the property despite him (Jemwa) being a 50% shareholder of the property.
Jemwa then filed a notice of opposition but the duo did not pursue the matter as required under law prompting Jemwa to file an application for dismissal of the court application by the Mombeyarara.

Former Govt Minister Loses Expensive Harare Property

I went into my local supermarket this morning and bumped into a cabinet Minister who accosted me into a corner but in a very friendly way.
The Minister asked me to support the government and to proffer ideas arguing that many people read what I write and as such, I had a responsibility to support the country.
I laughed and asked the Minister how I could support a failing government that can’t even support itself?
I then added that we needed to separate the idea of supporting a failing government and the natural responsibility of loving one’s country.
The two are different but ZANUPF always likes conflating them in order to blackmail citizens into emotional submission, whilst the political elites continue ruining the future of millions of our children.
After agreeing that the two were different, the Minister asked me to explain what I meant when I said that the government is failing to support itself.
I started by asking the Minister how a whole Finance Minister in Mthuli Ncube would sink so low to celebrate a useless and rigged twitter poll, which said that the country is happy with the direction that Emmerson Mnangagwa was taking us.
One of the most comical and yet very tragic realities is that most of our political elites live in Borrowdale, Glen Lorne and Chisipite, and yet they do not pay attention to important things and ask questions like, what will they do if their house caught fire or if they had a violent burglary?
To show the Minister and all of us here that the system has totally broken down, and that it is now a government at sea without ideas other than self-enrichment, I told the Minister something that they could easily verify since they live in Borrowdale.
Borrowdale Police Station where the rich &amp; wealthy, the political elites and Regime Associates live has NO single car to use, not even a motorcycle.
If intruders attacked anyone living in Borrowdale in their home, the police details at Borrowdale police station would not be able to come and rescue them.
This is a fact that you too can also confirm by going to Borrowdale Police Station in Hellensville, and seeing the reality for yourselves.
When the social service and law enforcement side of life has totally collapsed, and yet the political elites continue making millions, it is a sign that the government of the day is being run by a predatory elite whose only concern is looting and amassing wealth by any means necessary.
How else can you explain the fact that Borrowdale is the home of billions of dollars and yet there is no single man or woman amongst those millionaires who have had the conscience and common sense to ask why their police station doesn’t have a car or even a motorcycle to service them?
Well, except for William Nyemba the former Trust Bank CEO who went to that police station on Friday to have a different discussion only to be told by the Member in Charge that he has NO car or Motor Cycle to assist them in case of an emergency.
This is not exclusive to Borrowdale police stations, it is the common reality in almost all residential police stations.
How then can you claim to have a surplus running into hundreds of millions of dollars and yet the police station in the richest area of town where you also live has no single car or motorcycle?
Now if Borrowdale police station doesn’t have a car, what about Glen Norah police station, what about Mukumbura police station?
Yet we have a Finance Minister who wakes up in the morning to tell us that Emmerson Mnangagwa won a bogus twitter poll, and he considers that an important piece of information to a desperate citizenry as opposed to addressing the health, education and employment needs of his people?!
This is an indictment not just on this corrupt government, but also on all those Regime Associates and Apologists who live in Borrowdale and yet are unashamed of such self-evident government failures.
How can we expect them to run the country in our best interests when they can’t even provide a police vehicle at their local police station using taxpayer’s money?
That is how incompetent and corrupt these folks are, that is how clueless they are, spewing mere rhetoric without substance to back it up.
A local news website has reported that police officers in Victoria Falls have pitched tents outside their police station and are sleeping there because they can’t afford the rentals being demanded by local landlords anymore.
Victoria falls is in one of the world’s premier tourist resorts and magnet attractions, one of the best seven in the world.
How can a government sink so low not to pay attention to the law enforcement requirements of its tourist goose, and yet the Finance Minister is celebrating a bogus twitter poll?!
Future generations will study these folks in history in the same way that we have studied people like Mobutu Sese Seko and his thugs through books and documentary films.
Our kids and grandchildren will be shocked by what we are having to put up with today, legendary incompetence, breathtaking corruption, unimaginable mismanagement, shameful nepotism and sickening looting of natural resources.
ZANUPF governments under Robert Mugabe and Emmerson Mnangagwa have unfortunately made racists like Ian Smith look prophetic by predicting that ZANU-PF would ruin the economy into the ground, and yes they have done just that.
That prediction has come to pass and spectacularly so, regardless of having billions of dollars coming out of Chiadzwa, ZANUPF is failing to buy bandages and latex gloves for hospitals and yet we have a Finance Minister boasting about a budget surplus running into hundreds of millions of dollars.
He shouts at every turn about this surplus to anyone who cares to listen to him and yet his citizens are dying daily from easily treatable diseases.
They are dying from basic infections because he can’t simply buy antiseptic ointments and bandages for these desperate hospitals.
I know that it makes the ZANUPF elites seethe with anger when they are reminded about what the racist Ian Smith said about their in capabilities, but why are they not ashamed that they have proved him right?
How do you explain a government that dishes out hundreds of cars to traditional chiefs and yet law enforcement agencies have no cars at police stations and hospitals have no ambulances?
What kind of logic is that, and by asking these questions does it make me unpatriotic or selfishly unsupportive of this corrupt and failing government?
Am I not doing what any sensible citizen should be doing unless they are part of the rot and they do not care about the welfare of their fellow citizen?
I am not making this up, we all live in Zimbabwe and we all know this to be nothing but the truth.
How do you explain the fact that this government collects millions in taxes from Victoria Falls and yet they can’t arrange affordable accommodation for their law enforcement officers?
I have said that I will only speak when I have the evidence to prove my assertions that ZANUPF’s incompetence, corruption, looting, nepotism, gross mismanagement, cluelessness and looting have destroyed us! 
Boy oh Boy, daily I am overwhelmed with such evidence, and what does ZANU-PF do in the middle of such a man-made crisis, they invest in Ghost accounts to rig twitter polls and the Finance Minister runs to social media to brag about that!
Two weeks ago I reminded you about the dangers of toxic citizens like Taurai Chinyamakobvu and his many twitter accounts which he uses for propaganda purposes including the infamous @matigary twitter handle, that twitter poll that Mthuli Ncube is boasting about is a product of such stupidity.
Mthuli Ncube also boasted this morning of having sophistication and poise when talking about Tendai Biti, but is it sophistication when you are boasting of having a surplus in a bank when your kids are dying from diseases and are not attending school?
With those words, we parted ways with the Minister, “…I will call you,” the Minister said.
“We need Political Reforms,” I said as I walked away, the Minister’s spouse nodded in agreement.
“They are failing to understand that they are being led into a dark hole, we might end up losing everything if they don’t fix the obvious issues which can only be sorted out through Political Reforms,” the Minister’s spouse added.
At least they know that they are now playing dangerously with their lives whilst being led by men whose time on this earth is now at 5 minutes to O’clock, due to old age.
Why would they care when they would not live with the consequences of their corrupt misrule?
They will respond by blaming sanctions, ask them how many police cars could have been bought using profits from Chiadzwa diamonds in Marange?
Ask them why cabinet Ministers get three cars each when public hospitals have no ambulances?
I could go on but we all know the story, don’t we?
Our government would rather invest in more guns and water cannons than buy drugs for hospitals and books for schools.

Full Text: Mthuli Ncube's 'Arrogance' Under The Microscope

Frank Chitukutuku, former Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) chief executive officer has been given a 30-day ultimatum to detail how he acquired assets worth over US$20 million.
High Court judge Justice Erica Ndewere ordered a freeze of the assets pending finalisation of the criminal case. Chitukutuku is under investigation for corruption and the state claims he may have acquired his property through criminal activities.
Justice Ndewere barred any interested parties from dealing, in any way, with the property in question following convincing arguments by the prosecution team led by chief law officer Mr. Chris Mutangadura.
Chitukutuku is said to have acquired, owned, and or built the following properties from 2011 until April last year:

<li>1 Hino Dutro truck, </li>
<li>1 Toyota Land Cruiser, </li>
<li>1 Toyota Prado, </li>
<li>1 Nissan NP200, </li>
<li>1 Range Rover, </li>
<li>1 Hino Ranger,</li>
<li>1 Land Rover Discovery </li>
<li>residential stand measuring 4 048 square meters, Borrowdale Estate, </li>
<li>residential stand measuring 8 853 square meters,  Glen Lorne.</li>
<li>built or acquired a multi-million dollar thatched precast-walled house at the top of a mountain at Belmont Farm, Goromonzi, </li>
<li>six ultra-modern fowl runs, </li>
<li>five tractors, </li>
<li>10-tonne UD truck, </li>
<li>4 x 200-liter PVC water tanks, as well as several structures at the farm. </li>
<li>Owns Farm Pride (Private) Limited, Chisipite,</li>
<li> Owns Champions Insurance, which has assets estimated at over US$15 million.</li>
</ul>
The state alleges that Chitukutuku acquired the properties at a time he was lawfully earning a combined $8 500 from Zinara as well as his farming activities.

Former ZINARA CEO Asked To Detail How He Acquired Assets Worth US$20 million+.

Vice president Constantino Chiwenga has promised the residents of Mbare that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government was going to develop the suburb by building modern apartment buildings with swimming pools. Addressing a rally in Mbare, Chiwenga said,
<blockquote>We have a comprehensive master plan for the home industries and the Mbare hostels to the extent that wherever we reconstruct a block of flats, there will be swimming pools for children and kindergartens. Mbare will be the first place that we are going to develop in Harare, and those that had relocated to Borrowdale and Mount Pleasant will come back to Mbare.
After noticing the poor living conditions, we then came up with the master plan for Mbare and Harare. There are serious health issues like cholera and typhoid because of the MDC-T-led council.</blockquote>
