Former First Lady <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Grace_Mugabe/">Grace Mugabe</a>, the widow of Zimbabwe’s late founding leader, Robert Mugabe, was in attendance at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inauguration ceremony held at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Monday. The presence of Grace Mugabe, accompanied by her daughter Bona and Robert Mugabe Junior, was met with cheers from the crowd, indicating that the former First Family still holds a measure of public support.
Considering the circumstances surrounding her husband’s departure from the political scene, where he was “forced” to resign following the military’s intervention and the dismissal of Mnangagwa as Vice President, it was uncertain whether Grace would attend the event. Bona had previously attended Mnangagwa’s initial inauguration, while Robert had been seen at various ZANU PF rallies.
When Grace approached the podium and embraced Mnangagwa, the stadium erupted with noise, creating an impression of reconciliation and potentially signalling her endorsement of Mnangagwa as the leader of the nation in Southern Africa.
Former Vice Presidents <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Phelekezela_Mphoko/">Phelekezela Mphoko</a> (considered a member of the G40 cabal) and <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Joice_Mujuru/">Joice Mujuru</a>, along with losing presidential candidates <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Lovemore_Madhuku/">Lovemore Madhuku</a>, Gwinyai Henry Muzorewa, and Harry Peter Wilson, were present at the event.
According to <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Pedzisai_Ruhanya/">Pedzisai Ruhanya</a>, a Zimbabwean academic, journalist, and political commentator, the return of former G40 members to ZANU PF after Mugabe’s ousting reveals the political dynamics within post-ED ZANU PF. Ruhanya who is also the director of the <a class="new" href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/index.php?title=Zimbabwe_Democracy_Institute&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1" title="Zimbabwe Democracy Institute (page does not exist)">Zimbabwe Democracy Institute</a> (ZDI), said:

The trooping back to ZANU PF of former G40 members after the coup against Mugabe as seen at the inauguration of President Mnangagwa and some’s appearances in media spaces controlled by the government indicate post-ED ZANU PF political dynamics.

Some speculate that Grace Mugabe attended the event due to concerns that any misstep could lead to investigations into her family’s “ill-gotten” wealth. Additionally, there is an ongoing divorce case involving her daughter Bona and Simba Chikore, therefore, Mnangagwa could possibly influence the outcome. Joyce Mujuru’s attendance is seen as a move to protect her interests, as she became vulnerable after her husband’s mysterious death. Some say Phelekezela Mphoko’s presence may be an attempt to influence his son’s rape case, as Siqokoqela was convicted and sentenced for raping his 12-year-old niece but is currently out on bail pending an appeal.
Mnangagwa took oath of office in front of <a class="text__text__1FZLe text__inherit-color__3208F text__inherit-font__1Y8w3 text__inherit-size__1DZJi link__underline_default__2prE_" data-testid="Link" href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Luke_Malaba/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Chief Justice Luke Malaba</a> who in 2018 declared Mnangagwa as the winner following a constitutional court challenge. He said:

A number of African leaders, such as South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Mozambique leader Phillipe Nyusi, and Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi, attended the swearing-in ceremony. However, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema decided not to attend.
<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Nelson_Chamisa/">Nelson Chamisa</a>, the leader of the opposition Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) party, called for a fresh vote, claiming the election was “flawed.” However, his party did not legally challenge the results, allowing Mnangagwa’s inauguration. Mnangagwa urged the opposition to seek redress in court, asserting the validity of the vote and cautioning against spreading chaos, with a warning of crackdowns.
According to the preliminary report by the SADC observer mission, the election failed to meet both regional and international standards. Additionally, the EU observer mission described the polls as taking place in a “climate of fear.” The government faced criticism for arresting more than 40 activists from civic society organizations and allegations of widespread voter intimidation in rural areas. While the voting process itself was peaceful, significant delays in the distribution of ballot papers marred the polling, leading to accusations of voter suppression by the opposition.
After years of isolation, Zimbabwe, under Mnangagwa’s leadership, has aimed to rebuild relationships with Western partners. However, his second term begins amidst ongoing economic difficulties, including an 80% devaluation of the Zim dollar this year and frozen international funding. Without foreign assistance, Zimbabwe’s economic struggles are likely to persist, leaving millions uncertain about their future.

Grace Mugabe And Some G40 Members Attend President Mnangagwa's Inauguration

Former Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara, at the launch of his book “Ideas and Solutions,” stated that the divorce case of Robert Mugabe’s daughter, Bona, revealed how the ruling elite had looted Zimbabwe, leading to its economic collapse. 
Mutambara highlighted that Bona owned numerous properties, including 21 farms, and questioned how many farms Robert Mugabe, his two sons, the Vice-President, and other ministers owned. He said:

If Bona Mugabe has 21 farms, how about her father? You should ask yourself how many farms does the late President Robert Mugabe and his other two sons have?
How many do you think the Vice-President and other ministers have?
</blockquote>
Court records showed that Bona and her estranged husband, Simba Chikore, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/05/03/simba-chikore-and-bona-mugabe-own-21-farms/">owned vast swathes of land</a>, an $8 million mansion in Dubai, and a fleet of luxury cars. 
Zimbabwe’s “one-man one-farm” policy
The “one-man one-farm” policy in Zimbabwe is a <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">land reform program</a> that seeks to ensure that each farmer owns only one farm to address the issue of land ownership inequality. The policy was implemented in response to the concentration of land ownership in the hands of a few individuals, mostly <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">white commercial farmers</a>, during colonial and post-independence periods. Under this policy, the government has been redistributing land from those with multiple farms to <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">landless peasants</a> and small-scale farmers, with the aim of promoting equitable distribution of land resources.
There have been reports of violations of the “one-man one-farm” policy, particularly during the tenure of former President Robert Mugabe. Some individuals, including members of Mugabe’s inner circle, were found to have acquired multiple farms, while others were evicted from their land without due process. These actions were criticised for undermining the goal of the land reform program to promote equitable distribution of land resources and redress past injustices. The current government has also been accused of selectively enforcing the policy and allowing some individuals to hold multiple farms.
Effects of multiple-farm ownership
Reports indicate that some farms acquired during Zimbabwe’s <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">land reform program</a> remain underutilised due to a lack of resources and skills among beneficiaries. This has resulted in reduced agricultural productivity and food shortages despite Zimbabwe’s potential as a major agricultural producer.

Mutambara Says Bona Mugabe's Divorce Shows Ruling Elite Looted Zimbabwe

Lawyer Musa Kika says if <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Simba_Chikore/">Simba Chikore</a>‘s <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2023/05/03/full-list-properties-simba-chikore-is-demanding-from-bona-mugabe/">claims of co-owning 21 farms,</a> and more, with <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Bona_Mugabe/">Bona Mugabe</a> are true, they suggest corruption and unconstitutional wealth distribution based on political connections.
Kika made the remarks after Simba Chikore revealed in court papers that he jointly owns at least 21 farms with Bona Mugabe, the daughter of Zimbabwe’s founding leader, the late Robert Mugabe. Kika told Al Jazeera:

If proven to be true and accurate, this goes against the spirit of our Constitution. Our Constitution requires equitable distribution of the finite resource of land and expressly states in section 293(2) that ‘the State may not alienate more than one piece of agricultural land to the same person and his or her dependants.
</blockquote>
According to him, the term “alienate” includes both leasing and selling of land.
Steven Chuma, the youth interim spokesman of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has said the Simba Chikore and Bona Mugabe’s divorce case has proven that the land reform exercise only benefited political elites. Chuma said the land reform was “never about landless majority but was meant to self-enrich leaders of the post-colonial state.”
Mugabe is believed to have amassed great wealth as Zimbabwe’s leader, and Simba and Bona Mugabe’s divorce sheds light on it. One Facebook user, Gideon Baba Tyler Mtetwa, wrote:

This is how dirty Mugabe was. Just a tip of the iceberg. Imagine what his other kids and himself own, his uncles, aunts, rats, dogs and friends.

In the ongoing divorce proceedings between Bona Mugabe and Simba Chikore, court papers reveal that they co-own extensive land, 21 farms, a Dubai mansion worth $8m, and luxury cars. The revelation has caused outrage in Zimbabwe. The couple, who have been married for nine years, are in a custody battle over their three children and the division of their joint assets.
The contentious divorce has revealed the immense wealth of Zimbabwe’s former ruler’s family, with court papers showing an $80m real estate portfolio. Chikore also listed luxury cars, including an $800 000 Rolls Royce and three Range Rovers, as family assets, confirmed by Bona’s lawyer in court papers.
Just two weeks ago, an Al Jazeera documentary exposed large-scale gold smuggling by individuals linked to Zimbabwean officials and the ruling party. The former first family was also accused of smuggling diamonds and ivory.
Now, with the revelation of the Mugabe family’s immense wealth during the ongoing divorce proceedings, some Zimbabweans are demanding investigations into how they acquired such assets. Garikai Mazara, a former media personality said:

As much as Simba did well to list those properties as a settlement plan, it did reveal something to the world,”  “It does not need one to be a rocket scientist to see that the properties listed by Simba Chikore were crudely acquired. So it is my fervent hope that the presiding judge in the divorce settlement, after dispensing with the case, will have the presence of mind to ask how those properties were acquired. And then recommend for a judicial enquiry. Killing two birds with one stone, it is not without precedent.

Some people are questioning how much wealth the Mugabe family has accumulated over the years, with one Facebook user calling it “looting par excellence” and suggesting that the liberation war was wasted if it led to this system.

Some are criticizing Mugabe for hypocrisy during his time in power, with one Twitter user accusing him of failing to practice what he preached on black empowerment and looting vast amounts of land behind the scenes while publicly advocating for the “1 man 1 farm” policy.

Chikore's Claims Indicate Corruption By Mugabe - Lawyer

Simba Chikore and Bona Mugabe have been given 10 days to remove a piece of land from their divorce case or risk legal action. Jiti Law Chambers, the lawyers representing Arosume Property Development, are demanding that the duo removed all the Carrick Creagh stands from their divorce proceedings. The stands cover a total of 213 794 square meters.
In a letter seen by Pindula News, Jiti Law Chambers warned that legal action would be taken if the properties were not removed from the case within 10 working days. The letter was addressed to Matsikidze Attorneys at Law, who are representing Mugabe and Chikore in the divorce case. We present the full letter dated May 4, 2023:

Dear Sirs
RE: YOUR CLIENTS MR &amp; MRS CHIKORE: DEMAND FOR REMOVAL OF UNDISTRIBUTABLE STATE LAND (CARRICK CREAGH STANDS) FROM DIVORCE PLEADINGS HC1521/ 23
1. We act for AROSUME PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT (PRIVATE) LIMITED a land development company in partnership with the government through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Tripartite Agreement with the Ministry of Local Government &amp; Public Works which agreement is dated June 2007 and still subsists.
2. Our client has learnt from the wide media coverage of your respective clients, a Mr Simbarashe Chikore and his wife Bona Chikore (nee Mugabe) matrimonial proceedings that various properties in the Carrick Creagh Estate alone are listed as part of their matrimonial estate and subject to distribution.
3. While our client has maintained that your clients “stole” vast amounts of state land, the confirmation of the extent has only become apparent from their own pleadings that in Carrick Creagh alone, they took state land amounting to 213,794.00sqm. In fact it is government policy that one individual cannot receive more than one residential stand within the same local authority from the state. How your clients were able to circumvent that policy requires further investigation from the relevant authorities. 
4. We advise that the Carrick Creagh Estate stands are not owned by either of your clients. It is state land which prior to the cancellation of the fraudulently acquired title deeds were owned by Navline Investments Private Limited and Montshow Enteprises Private Limited. The consequence of the cancellation is that the land reverted to being state land and as such it cannot be distributed to private individuals via a divorce order. Attached hereto is proof of such cancellation.
5. For clarity, Mr Simba Chikore does not appear to have been or to be involved in either companies. Mrs Chikore however has been a director of the two companies. We have taken note of the fact that Mr Chikore appears to have deliberately included these properties ma/a fide for purposes that have nothing to do with the distribution sought before the court, perhaps knowing that the list is inaccurate.
6. As regards stand number 313 of Carrick Creagh Estate, we note that in a letter to Mr Churu (Sec for Local Government &amp; Public Works), Rtd Major General Gerald Gwinji, the Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs &amp; Cultural Heritage has separately been attempting to endorse an unlawful allocation of the same stand to LOUISA DUDUZILE KALENGA BANDAL. The confusion that has now arisen as to who owns stand 313 lays bare the danger of unlawful political interference by persons who have no business administering land.
7. We also advise that your clients’ purported ownership of the various pieces of land in Carrick Creagh Estate was reported to Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission which for all intents and purposes, has turned a blind eye to this primitive accumulation of public land by your clients. It is our client’s position that your clients never took this land out of any legitimate need but greed.
8. We are instructed, as we hereby do, to demand that both your clients cause to be removed from their pleadings all Carrick Creagh properties that do not belong to them within the next ten (10) working days failure which our client will take legal action without further notice to yours for the removal of all Carrick Creagh land from their matrimonial proceedings. 
We trust that you find the above to be in order.

Arosume Property Development’s lawyers claim Bona Mugabe and Simba Chikore acquired land in Carrick Creagh in violation of government policy, which prohibits receiving more than one residential stand in the same local authority from the State. They have requested an investigation into the acquisition of 213 794 square meters of land. Reads the letter:

We advise that the Carrick Creagh Estate stands are not owned by either of your clients. It is State land, which prior to the cancellation of the fraudulently acquired title deeds, were owned by Navline Investments Private Limited and Montshow Enteprises Private Limited.

Bona Mugabe was allegedly a director of two companies, but Simba Chikore was not involved. Lawyers believe Chikore included Carrick Creagh properties in the divorce case for unrelated reasons. Stand number 313’s ownership is disputed, and Arosume Property Development reported the couple’s land ownership to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission, but little progress has been made.
ZACC Chairperson Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo said the commission was investigating the Carrick Creagh case based on the report compiled by Justice Tendai Uchena on the sale of State land around urban areas.

Bona Mugabe, Simba Given 10 Days To Remove State Land From Their Divorce Case

Simba Chikore has told the courts that he is willing to cover his children’s healthcare, education, clothing and food if the divorce with Bona Mugabe goes through. The duo got married in terms of Zimbabwean laws in March 2014. Bona, the daughter of the late former President Robert Mugabe, filed for divorce last month saying their relationship had been irretrievably broken. Simba believes the marriage can still be salvaged but if the divorce goes through, he wants joint custody of the children. In his court papers, Simba said:

 WHEREFORE Plaintiff prays that in the event of decree for divorce being granted that it be granted with the following ancillary relief:
Plaintiff and Defendant are and hereby granted joint custody of the minor children, and in exercising the joint custody, Defendant shall have children during school days while Plaintiff has children during all weekends and holidays or vice-versa.
In the alternative, the Plaintiff is and hereby granted access during weekends and holidays as follows:
For weekends Plaintiff shall have children every weekend starting from 08:00 hours Saturday and returning children Sunday at 18:00 hours to Defendant.
For school holidays, Plaintiff shall have children from the closing date to the end of the third week of the holidays.
For the minor child Mireya Minana Chikore Born 25.” November 2021, until she is of creche-going age, Plaintiff shall see her every weekend and holiday during the daytime and return her to the mother on or before 18:00
The Plaintiff is and hereby ordered to maintain the children as follows: 
Plaintiff shall pay for the children’s medical aid in full.
Plaintiff shall pay for children’s school fees in full.
Plaintiff shall meet all clothing requirements for the children.
Plaintiff shall meet all food requirements for the children.

There have been reports of violations of the “one-man one-farm” policy, particularly during the tenure of former President Robert Mugabe. Some individuals, including members of Mugabe’s inner circle, were found to have acquired multiple farms, while others were evicted from their land without due process. These actions were criticised for undermining the goal of the land reform program to promote equitable distribution of land resources and redress past injustices. Simba Chikore And Bona Mugabe Own At Least 21 Farms

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Simba_Chikore">Simba Chikore</a> wants all properties acquired during the subsistence of marriage with <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Bona_Mugabe">Bona Mugabe,</a> through any means, to be shared equally. They share assets including 21 farms, over 25 upmarket residential properties, cash, companies, and movable properties worth millions of US dollars.
At the same time, Bona Mugabe prefers to handle the property issues separately from the divorce proceedings to avoid delays in granting the divorce decree.

The couple has three children, and Bona seeks full custody and maintenance of US$2 700 per child until they reach maturity.
While Bona Mugabe sees the marriage as irretrievably broken down, Chikore believes their marriage can be restored with genuine counselling and family support.
Chikore accuses Bona Mugabe of refusing to settle and falsely accusing him of wanting her properties, but he claims only what the couple acquired during their union.

The late former President, Robert Mugabe’s daughter, Bona, is demanding US$8 100 per month in child maintenance from her estranged husband Simbarashe Mutsahuni Chikore (46) as maintenance for their three minor children.
Bona Nyapudzai Ouma Mugabe (32) is divorcing her husband of nine years on the grounds that their marriage has irretrievably broken down with no prospect of restoration.
She filed the papers at the High Court on Tuesday, 07 March 2023 under HC 1521/2023 seeking an order for a decree of divorce.
According to the court papers, Bona and Simba have lost all love and affection for each other and have been living apart for more than nine months.
The couple has three children aged seven, five and two.
Bona is claiming custody of the children and demanding US$2 700 per month for each child. She said:

In the event of the granting of the Divorce Decree by the honourable court it will be just and equitable that the Defendant be ordered to pay maintenance for the minor children in the sum of USD2, 700.00 per child monthly, until attaining of majority status or they become self-sustaining whichever occurs first.

Bona and Simba married in 2014 and the ceremony was attended by the political and business elite in Zimbabwe and outside the country.

Bona Mugabe Claiming US$8 100 Monthly In Child Maintenance

The daughter of the late former President Robert Mugabe, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Bona_Mugabe">Bona Nyapudzai Ouma Mugabe</a>, is divorcing her husband <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Simba_Chikore">Simbarashe Mutsahuni Chikore</a> after nine years of marriage.
Simba and Bona married in 2014 at Mugabe’s Blue Roof mansion, in Borrowdale, Harare, in 2014 and their wedding was broadcast live by ZBC-TV.
The wedding was also attended by African heads of state and government and other high-level dignitaries.
The couple lived at a house that Mugabe donated to them during their wedding along Quorn Avenue in Mount Pleasant, Harare.
Bona filed for divorce under HC 1521/2023 where she said the couple have lost all love and affection for each other and had been living apart for more than nine months. She said:

It is in the best interests of the minor children that Plaintiff is given full custody of the children with the Defendant being granted access to them every alternating weekend from Saturday between 8 am to Sunday 5 pm agreed in advance.
In the event of the granting of the Divorce Decree by the honorable court, it will be just and equitable that the Defendant be ordered to pay maintenance for the minor children in the sum of USD2 700 per child per month until attaining of majority status or they become self-sustaining whichever occurs first.

Bona is 32 while Simba is 46 and the couple has three children from their marriage, two boys aged 7 and 5 and a girl aged 2.
Bona told the court that during the subsistence of their marriage, they jointly as well as severally acquired various movable and immovable properties.

Bona Mugabe Files For Divorce From Simba Chikore

A High Court judge has ordered Bona Mugabe and her husband and Simbarashe Mutsahuni to vacate parts of their Mazowe farm.
This comes after the National Tested Seed approached the High Court claiming ownership of part of Extent of Sigaro Farm in Mazowe measuring 168 hectares.
Bona and Simba did not oppose the application prompting Justice Munamato Mutevedzi to deliver a default judgement in favour of the National Tested Seed.
Mutevedzi ruled that if the couple fails to adhere to the order, the Sheriff will move in on them. The ruling reads in part:

National Tested Seed be and is hereby, forthwith, restored full control, occupation and possession of the remaining Extent of Sigaro (S/D 3) in the District of Mazowe measuring approximately 168 hectares in extent.
Simba and Bona Mutsahuni and any person acting through them are hereby directed, forthwith, to allow National Tested Seed full control, occupation and possession of the remaining Extent of Sigaro (S/D 3).
In the event that Simba and Bona, and all persons claiming occupation through them, neglect or refuse to comply with any of the above, the Sheriff of the High Court or his lawful deputy are hereby ordered to remove respondents and any persons, acting through them, and any movable property introduced by them, or remaining on the Extent of Sigaro (S/D 3) in the District of Mazowe…
</blockquote>
Justice Mutevedzi also ruled that Bona and Simba shall pay costs if they attempt to oppose the order. He said:

In the event that Simbarashe and Bona oppose the granting of this order, they shall pay costs of suit on a legal practitioner and client scale

Bona is the daughter of the late former president Robert Mugabe, who died in Singapore in 2019, two years after his ouster by the military.

The late former president, Robert Mugabe blocked his close relatives, including his daughter Bona, from involvement in government contracts and deals for self-aggrandisement.
Official records seen by The NewsHawks this week show that Mugabe barred Bona and his nephew Leo Mugabe from using their family and political connections to seized control of Zimbabwe’s third-largest mobile operator, Telecel Zimbabwe. One document says:
<blockquote>Sometime in 2015/2016, Mugabe’s son-in-law and his wife, and also separately his nephew wanted to use their family and political connections to gain control of Telecel.
They approached the then Minister of Information Communication Technology (Supa Mandiwanzira) to assist them to take over Telecel. First, it was Simba and Bona, and then later it was Leo Mugabe.</blockquote>
Russians were disposing of their 60% stake in Telecel and about five individuals, consortiums and companies showed interest. The document further says:
<blockquote>When it came to Simba and Bona, Mugabe said NO. They mustn’t be on the list and the minister should not allow them to take over the company. On Leo, President Mugabe gave a BIG NO; remarking ‘he (Leo) failed to pay for his shareholding in the empowerment consortium in the first place’.
Mugabe said Leo’s cheques bounced on his initial attempt to become a key player as part of the empowerment consortium in Telecel. He then told the minister that none of his family members and relatives should be involved.
Mugabe later went on to tell his relatives that they should not be involved. Leo actually called the minister to say ‘you have sold me out’, suggesting Mugabe had talked to him to stay out of Telecel.</blockquote>
The government later seized control of Telecel after concluding a US$40 million deal to buy out international telecommunications giant VimpelCom, which ultimately held 60% in the local company.

This was said by the Mugabe family lawyer Advocate Terrence Hussein of Hussein Ranchod &amp; Company following a brief meeting held between the Master of the High Court and the family on Thursday morning. Commenting about Russell’s inclusion, Hussein said:
<blockquote>You don’t have to dramatise the issue, of course, he was not Mugabe’s biological son but he was a son in his home. No one disputed that.</blockquote>

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Bona_Mugabe" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bona Mugabe-Chikore</a> has been appointed the executor of his late father, former President <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Robert_Mugabe" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Robert Mugabe’s</a> estate at a brief meeting held between the Master of the High Court Eldered Mutasa and the Mugabe family on Thursday morning.
Advocate Terrence Hussein of Hussein Ranchod &amp; Company, who is the family lawyer, confirmed the development. He said:
<blockquote>In terms of the law, the master of the High Court called a meeting for the late former President’s family and close relatives, that is his spouse and children and explained to them the whole process.
The law requires the Master to appoint from one of them and that is what we sat for today. Surprise, surprise, of all surprises, the apple of his eye, and first daughter, Bona Chikore has been appointed the executor of her late father’s estate.</blockquote>
Hussein dismissed the notion that Gushungo Dairies belonged to the late Mugabe, saying the company belonged to the Mugabe family.
Mugabe died on 6 September this year in Singapore where he had been receiving treatment for a couple of months. His body was flown to Zimbabwe and later buried at his rural home at Kutama village in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zvimba" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zvimba</a> district a few weeks after his death.

Bona To Oversee Distribution Of The Late Robert Mugabe's Assets

Terrence Hussein, the lawyer of the late former president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe has revealed that the process of ascertaining Mugabe’s estate will take longer than many would like to think.
Speaking to Reuters this week, Hussein indicated that the properties listed in news reports were not in Mugabe’s name while his rural homestead had no title because all communal land in Zimbabwe is owned by traditional chiefs. He said:
<blockquote>The first task of the executor will be to compile assets and then decide who will be a beneficiary. Therefore, the suggestion that the estate has been finalised is untrue and misleading. The long, drawn-out process has only begun.
The 10 cars are a vintage car collection which frankly had value only to him.</blockquote>
Local publications reported yesterday that Bona Chikore, Mugabe’s daughter had written to the High Court in October, a month after the death of his father, seeking to register her father’s estate which included US$10 million in a local bank, four houses in Harare, 10 cars, one farm, his rural home and an orchard.
Hussein claimed that they had failed to locate Mugabe’s will adding that they had written to other lawyers to establish if they have it.

"The Suggestion That The Estate Has Been Finalised Is Untrue," - Lawyer On Mugabe's Estate

The ruling ZANU PF is reportedly contemplating turning into a museum the Blue Roof Mansion, where the family of the late former founding leader of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, is residing.
ZBC News reports that ZANU PF secretary for administration, Obert Mpofu, revealed the development saying that the state-of-the-art building can even be turned into anything that benefits the party.
Leo Mugabe, the spokesperson of the Mugabe family shocked the country when he revealed that both the Blue Roof and the Mt Pleasant home which is used by Mugabe’s daughter, Bona, belonged to ZANU PF.
The party confirmed the report and also indicated that plans were underway to transfer title deeds of the mansion to the Mugabe family.
Analysts argued back then that the move was meant to bribe the Mugabe family into accepting to bury Mugabe at the National Heroes Acre and not Kutama his rural home where he was buried last Saturday.
The development could be viewed as retaliation to the embarrassment that was brought to the government when the family decided to take the former veteran leader to his rural home.

Zimbabwe’s founding leader, Robert Mugabe who led the country for nearly four decades has died in the early hours of Friday after being confined to a hospital in Singapore for a sustained period of time.

Mugabe later said that his resignation was not voluntary as he had to choose between a civil war and giving up power. He added:
<blockquote>I was sacked from the party I founded, Zanu-PF, with the likes of Va(former vice president Simon) Muzenda and others. I was regarded now as an enemy.</blockquote>
He described the deployment of the army and army machinery into the streets of Harare as the greatest damage the nation had inflicted upon the history of Zimbabwe and the greatest injustice to the nation.
This comes after Mugabe is reported to <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2019/09/06/mugabe-refused-national-heroes-acre-burial-report/">have snubbed a National Heroes Acre burial</a> merely because he did not want the processions to be presided over by those who dislodged him from power.
The report suggested that Mugabe’s preference is to be buried next to his mother Bona at his rural home in Zvimba, Mashonaland West province.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is said to have sent delegations to persuade him to change his mind. It remains unknown whether Mugabe changed his mind on the matter or not.

A luxury villa previously occupied by the former First Lady Grace Mugabe and her daughter Bona has been sold at a 15% loss according to reports. Grace Mugabe and Bona had been staying in the villa since 2008 while the latter attended the City University of Hong Kong under an alias.
The luxurious apartment, house 3 of JC Castle has been sold for HK$34 million (US$4.3 million), a loss of 15 per cent from its 2008 purchase price of HK$40 million, according to Century 21 Deluxe Home Property, which handled the transaction. The agency involved in the deal did not identify the buyer.
The villa was bought in 2008 by a company called Cross Global and sold two years later at a cost to its sole shareholder Hsieh Ping Sung, a Taiwan-born South African businessman and one-time Mugabe confidant.
Mugabe’s government sued Cross Global and Hsieh in 2014 to claim ownership of the 2,761-square foot villa, claiming “100 per cent beneficial” ownership of it, saying that the businessman had merely been holding it on trust.

<blockquote>It is gratifying. That is the kind of message Zimbabwe has been expecting. You heard the applause, we expect that as our founding President, he must occupy that respectable place and today, he behaved just exactly as we expected.
There has been a request to change the Robert [Gabriel] Mugabe International Airport, but government has not taken a decision and so has the party not taken a position. It is a request which has come from some sections within the party, but that request would be considered in light of behaviour and conduct made today (Sunday) and going forward.</blockquote>

Mugabe's Conduct At Inauguration Will Be Taken Into Account When Considering Request To Rename Airport: Zanu-PF

The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) have slammed former president Robert Mugabe for failing to attend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inauguration on Sunday. The war veterans claimed that Mugabe was acting like a spoilt child even though <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2018/08/26/mugabe-congratulates-mnangagwa-says-grace-is-in-singapore-for-treatment/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Mugabe had asked to be excused saying that he was not feeling well. In a letter which was delivered by Bona,</a> Mugabe had said,
<blockquote>…I am not well so I am sending my daughter and her husband to represent us. Hearty congratulations, R.G Mugabe</blockquote>
However, this did not go down well with the war veterans with ZNLWVA spokesperson Douglas Mahiya telling New Zimbabwe,
<blockquote>Mugabe understands the dynamics and politics of the revolution and he must stop acting like a spoilt child. He thinks sending his daughter to attend our President’s inauguration ceremony is enough…Bona is just an innocent girl child who is not into politics and her husband Simba is a foreigner to us; mukuwasha (he is a son-in-law)…He knows the mistake he has made despite all what the new dispensation has done for him.</blockquote>

Mugabe Must Stop Acting Like A Spoilt Child: War Vets Slam Bob For Sending Bona To Inauguration

Former president Robert Mugabe’s daughter has lost one of her farms which she grabbed in 2014 from Zanu-PF politician Herbert Shumbamhini. Shumbamhini successfully reclaimed his farm which is located near Juru Growth Point and has complained that Bona and her husband Simba Chikore grabbed his farm but did not utilise it at all. Speaking to NewsDay, Shumbamhinhi said,
<blockquote>I moved in recently and I have begun resuscitating everything here. They had destroyed my property, including the house and boreholes. I was left with nothing. I lost my cattle and farming equipment…After grabbing about 600ha, they took over my 350ha farm, as they sought to extend their hectarage. But what is surprising is that they did not utilise the land. All in all, I am relieved and excited to have my farm back.</blockquote>
Former president Robert Mugabe has been alleged to own in excess of 20 farms, some of which he was leasing to white farmers.

Bona Mugabe Loses Farm She Had Grabbed From Zanu-PF Politician

Bona Chikore and her husband Simba were among the people that attended Davido’s concert held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on Saturday. The couple also attended the “All White, Green, Red, Blue, Purple, Black” party hosted by flamboyant businessman Genius Kadungure.
Apart from Davido, Jah Prayzah, Nutty O, ExQ, Killer T and Stunner also performed. Davido also promised new music with Jah Prayzah saying:

Bona Mugabe And Husband Attend Davido Concert

Former President Robert Mugabe’s daughter, Bona Mugabe, is reported to have hired Chinese contractors to construct a new home for her family, on state land which had been earmarked for the construction of a school. Bona and her husband Simba Chikore wanted to build a hillside mansion along Umwinsidale Road on the outskirts of Harare.
Chikore is reported to have visited the site in June before construction started in October.  However, all work on the mansion had to be halted after the Zimbabwe Defence Forces seized power in a military intervention codenamed Operation Restore Legacy in November. The military takeover ultimately resulted in the resignation of Mugabe. The Chinese contractors abandoned the site after Mugabe lost power.  The site is now under police guard.
Rusty Markham, councillor for the opposition Movement for Democratic Change Party, told the Telegraph:
<blockquote>This was City of Harare land. Planning years ago was that a school would have been built on this site. It is a mystery how this couple landed up with this property.</blockquote>

Simba Chikore is Robert Mugabe’s son in law. Lumumba says that Chikore gets his money from tenders which are awarded without following procedure. He says that Chikore gets at least $700 000 deposited into his bank account.
