The ruling ZANU PF has responded to claims that Happiness Nyakuedzwa, the party’s Chairwoman for Manicaland Province <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/zanu-pf-suspends-senior-official/">was suspended for alleged failure to abide by party policies, rules and regulations.</a>
In a statement seen by Pindula News, the party’s spokesperson, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Christopher_Mutsvangwa">Christopher Mutsvangwa</a>, said Nyakuedzwa is “wholly on the reins of provincial Women’s League leadership and is fully discharging her duties and responsibilities.” Reads the statement:

ZANU PF Says Its Chairwoman For Manicaland Was Not Suspended

The ruling <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_African_National_Union_-_Patriotic_Front">ZANU PF</a> party has said land barons illegally parcelling out State land should be jailed adding that they are the second-biggest threat to the party’s power retention bid, after the opposition <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Citizens%27_Coalition_for_Change">CCC. </a>
Some party heavyweights that were directly involved in the shady deals had been enjoying immunity, but President Emmerson Mnangagwa recently said the malcontents should be dealt with, <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200005343/zanu-pf-turns-on-land-barons">NewsDay</a> reported citing ZANU PF spokesperson <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Christopher_Mutsvangwa">Christopher Mutsvangwa</a>. He is quoted as saying:

We don’t support such behaviour and we don’t allow such in the party. In fact, we don’t view these elements as party people. They are people who are using the name of the party for their criminal enterprises, and the President has made it very clear that government will pursue them. They can go to jail.
Government is currently rationalising all the land allocations, bearing in mind that all land belongs to the State.  Land barons took advantage and grabbed some of the land which was recovered during the sequel of the land reform programme. Once you begin to behave like that, don’t try to put the badge of Zanu PF on your forehead. You are just a criminal and that’s it.
Our sympathy lies with the victims and others who were swindled, and those whose land has been sold several times to different people. Those are the voters. We care more about the voters than the individuals who may try to profess something under the name of the party. The currency of ZANU PF is the vote and anything which jeopardises our vote and land barons are the biggest threat to ZANU PF after the CCC [Citizens Coalition for Change] because they actually drive people to CCC.

Last Friday, ZANU PF national youth league secretary for education Shepherd Marime and his colleague Denver Mudiwa were arrested by police while resisting demolitions by the Development Control section of the Harare City Council at Greenways in Mabelreign.
It is believed that the duo led a group of people to invade the land and sold stands to unsuspecting home-seekers.
About 30 stands had been sold.
Council spokesperson Innocent Ruwende urged land seekers to approach the local government authority to verify availability and authenticity before acquiring a piece of land.
This year, 347 land barons were arrested with 91 cases before the courts, 57 finalised and six convictions.

"Land Barons Are The Biggest Threat To ZANU PF After CCC" - Mutsvangwa

Zimbabwe’s ruling party, ZANU PF, has said the inclusion of new names on the United States of America’s sanctions list is an attack on prospects of normalising relations between the two countries.
The USA added President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son, Emmerson Mnangagwa Junior and other individuals <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/usa-adds-president-mnangagwas-son-on-sanctions-list/">onto the sanctions list</a> allegedly to force the government of the southern African country to enhance good governance.
<a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/full-list-usa-removes-17-zimbabweans-from-sanctions-list/">Others added to the list</a> are business tycoon Kuda Tagwirei’s wife, Sandra Mpunga, Nqobile Magwizi, and Obey Chimuka, as well as associated firms Fossil Agro and Fossil Contracting.
ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa described the sanctioning of the group as an insult to the former allies’ spirit to mend bridges. He told ZimLive:

The inclusion of new names on the illegal sanctions is yet another unfortunate…step as Zimbabwe and Washington strive to normal bilateral relations.
It is clear that there are figures in the American Political Establishment who hanker for the moribund post-colonial relations with the African continent. This wrong move is in contrast to the spirit of the second and ongoing Africa-USA Summit in Washington.
This welcome yet belated Summit speaks of a USA that is revising its policy so as to treat Africa and its member nations on equal peer-to-peer basis as behoves sovereign nations in the ambit of the United Nations System.
All African guest nations presently in Washington are speaking in unison against the arbitrary and unilateral sanctions that hamstring Zimbabwe’s economic development.

Over the last two decades, the ZANU PF government has blamed sanctions for derailing the country’s economic recovery path, claiming the measures have caused untold economic, socio-economic, and social suffering among ordinary citizens.
However, the U.S. government, on the other hand, blames the ZANU PF-led administration for presiding over rampant state corruption, mismanagement of the country’s resources, and gross human rights violations.

ZANU PF Says USA Worsened Relations By Including New Names On Sanctions List

The ruling ZANU PF has said War collaborators are a key constituency of the party and must not be sidelined from contesting for positions in the party structures.
This was said by the ruling party’s Secretary for Information and chairman of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa in Chinhoyi during a Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting to give guidelines for the impending provincial War Veterans League elections. 
The <a href="https://www.sundaymail.co.zw/war-collaborators-vital-arm-of-zanu-pf">Sunday Mail</a> quotes him as saying:

During the 1960s congresses, we set up party structures that did not incorporate the military wing. This, however, did not mean war veterans were not important and relevant.
As such this does not mean, war collaborators, who are not part and parcel of the League as it is solely for war veterans, are not important. They will be part of the system through an affiliate and, through election into the main and women’s league structures.

Mutsvangwa added that some provinces had proper war veterans structures but Mashonaland West and Midlands, there have had several defections with other members showing their allegiance to the opposition parties.

"War Collaborators A Key Constituency Of ZANU PF" - Mutsvangwa

ZANU PF spokesperson <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Christopher_Mutsvangwa">Christopher Mutsvangwa</a>, who is also national chairperson of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association, has said there is no need for security sector reforms in Zimbabwe as “our army is the best.”
The opposition has been pushing for security sector reforms accusing state security departments of being biased toward the ruling party. 
Addressing a ZANU PF Press conference in Harare last Friday, Mutsvangwa pledged war veterans’ support to the ruling party. <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/2022/07/army-is-part-of-us-zanu-pf/">NewsDay Zimbabwe</a> quotes him as saying:

We are delighted as war veterans; we are going to make sure that we support you (ZANU PF). We are also aware that we have a very proud umbilical connection to our friends in the armed forces. We have the best army in the world. We have remained there to make sure that we have the best army in the world. We are always conscious of the role they are playing in defending our nation and making sure that we keep the enemies at bay.

We will not brook those who say there must be security sector reforms, our army is the best. We want to send a very strong warning to the opposition that the boys and girls are back in town.

Zimbabwe National Army spokesperson Colonel Alphios Makotore yesterday refused to comment on Mutsvangwa’s claims. Makotore said:

Mutsvangwa is a politician, therefore, the army does not comment on political issues.

In past elections, the army and war veterans have been accused of helping sustain ZANU PF rule through violence against members of the opposition and civilians.
Army generals are on record stating that they will never salute any president without liberation war credentials.
The army’s top leadership is composed of former fighters in the liberation struggle or those closely related to war veterans and political elites. 
Some military men retire and join ZANU PF as politicians. These include Vice President Constantino Chiwenga who was at the helm of the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_National_Army">army</a> when the late former president Robert Mugabe was ousted in 2017.

"Our Army Is The Best, No Need For Security Sector Reforms," - Mutsvangwa

The Supreme Court has upheld a High court order which evicts former Mines Minister <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Obert_Mpofu">Obert Mpofu</a> from Keshelmar Farm, also known as Esidakeni Farm in Nyamandlovu, Matabeleland North province which he had invaded without “due process.”
The farm is part-owned by rights lawyer <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Siphosami_Malunga">Siphosami Malunga</a>, the son of the late PF ZAPU stalwart and national hero, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sydney_Malunga" title="Sydney Malunga">Sydney Malunga</a>.
Malunga, Charles Moyo and Zephania Dhlamini argued in court papers that they bought the farm from white former owners in 2017.
Mpofu was allocated 145 hectares of Esidakeni Farm, measuring 553 hectares in the name of his company Mswelangubo.
The trio challenged the acquisition of their farm.
The farm invasion attracted criticism even from Mpofu’s colleagues in the ruling party including ZANU PF spokesperson <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Christopher_Mutsvangwa">Christopher Mutsvangwa</a> who said the move was <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/08/11/malunga-farm-grab-unacceptable-mutsvangwa/">unacceptable.</a>

Esidakeni Farm Wrangle: Supreme Court Upholds Order To Evict Obert Mpofu

ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa posted on Facebook suggesting that Bona Mugabe and her husband are members of the ruling party.
Taking to Facebook, Chris Mutsvangwa wrote;

Effusive joy and total gratitude as comrades Bona and Robert Mugabe express that abiding FAMILY loyalty to ZANU-PF, the Party of the Enduring Zimbabwe Revolution.

Bona Mugabe’s brother, Robert Mugabe Jr, got social media talking after he was spotted at a ZANU PF rally held in St Mary’s in Chitungwiza on Wednesday where he said he belonged to the party.
Robert Mugabe Junior met with President Emmerson Mnangagwa and other ZANU PF high profile members.
Robert Jnr said it was only right for him to be a ZANU PF member since that was the family’s legacy. He said:

They have been very accomodating. I thought I should come and support the party. Like it’s a family tradition. Since I was born the only thing I knew is ZANU PF. I am a ZANU PF child and I have a ZANU PF soul. It is only right that I continue the legacy.

While at the rally, Robert Mugabe Jnr chanted the ZANU PF slogan as he endorsed his support for the ruling party. Reports say he is set to <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2022/03/24/robert-mugabe-jr-eyes-zvimba-west-seat-in-2023-report/">contest for the Zvimba West National Assembly seat in the 2023 general elections.</a>
Some observers thoughts the children of the late founding leader of Zimbabwe would not like to be associated with the party their father led for decades considering that he had sour relations with current party leaders during his last days in power. 
Some also claim that the government is behind the push to have the veteran leader’s remains exhumed and reburied at the National Heroes Acre, a move the family is resisting, therefore, they predicted that Mugabe’s family will not endorse the ruling party.

Mutsvangwa: "Bona And Robert Mugabe Express That Abiding FAMILY Loyalty To ZANU-PF"

Former Presidential Advisor Ambassador Chris Mutsvangwa has accused Old Mutual of causing parallel market financial distortions where the exchange rate has excessively risen.
Mutsvangwa was speaking on ZBCtv current affairs programme, Face the Nation, on Wednesday night. He stated the reason why Old Mutual could be raising the rates. He said:
<blockquote>By virtue of Old Mutual’s share certificates being able to be traded on principally these three stock exchanges, it means you can buy Old Mutual (shares) with RTGS today…go to the London Stock Exchange where Old Mutual is listed and liquidate them for Pound. 
But that liquidation has to be supported by the currency from the country of origin which is Zimbabwe, so the result was that instead of the water flowing down the valley, the water started going up the mountain, so the capital stock of Zimbabwe was hemorrhaged by that arrangement and today that attribution to Old Mutual gives what is now called Old Mutual Implied Exchange Rate (OMIR).</blockquote>
He added that the authorities must cease to blame the money exchangers since they do not determine the rate. He added:
<blockquote>I have said it before that if there is commotion in the kraal, don’t go for the calves, go for the big bull.
You don’t accuse the young men on Fourth Street as people who are the main movers of the currency, no that’s wrong.</blockquote>
