Police have confirmed that they are investigating allegations of aggravated indecent assault against Anymore Gumbo, the Deputy Headmaster of Masase High School in Mberengwa.

Gumbo is currently on the run after being accused of sexually molesting over 30 pupils at the boarding school.
He is alleged to have sodomised several boys over time, with a recent incident involving a Form Two student who sustained injuries.
The student reported experiencing severe discomfort, which led to fellow pupils alerting staff and breaking the silence surrounding the allegations.
Gumbo reportedly left the school premises last Friday night as law enforcement officials arrived to investigate and question him.
The situation came to light after one pupil required medical attention following the alleged assault. This medical intervention led to a series of accusations.
In a letter to parents and guardians dated April 3, headmaster Albion Masukume confirmed that investigations are ongoing, involving both the police and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. He wrote:

Three inmates at Harare Remand Prison have been sentenced to an additional 20 years each after being convicted of sexually assaulting a fellow prisoner.
As reported by <a href="https://www.zimlive.com/harare-remand-jail-birds-jailed-20-years-for-sodomising-fellow-inmate/">ZimLive,</a> the convicted individuals are Kinhswell Ngwerume (32), Kudakwashe Mazorodze (35), and Lazarus Chinobhururuka.
Despite their claims of innocence, they were found guilty of aggravated indecent assault by Magistrate Loice Mukunyadze following a full trial.
Prosecutor Munyaradzi Muza presented evidence that the assault occurred on August 11 2024 while the inmates were locked in their cells for the night.
Mazorodze directed the victim to enter Cell C2, where nine other inmates, including Ngwerume and Chinobhururuka, were present.
The victim reported being awakened around midnight by Ngwerume’s sexual advances. It was established that Ngwerume engaged in indecent acts against the victim’s person, who refused his advances.
In response, Ngwerume, assisted by Chinobhururuka and Mazorodze, physically assaulted the victim. Said Muza:

The three inmates allegedly removed the victim’s underwear and took turns sodomizing him multiple times.
After the assault, they returned to their usual positions in the cell.
The next morning, the victim reported the incident to a prison officer, who opened the cell. The victim was then taken to the hospital for a medical examination.

The suspects—Diana Sibanda (35), Brendy Msipa (35), and Tabeth Harris (33)—appeared before regional magistrate Tilda Mazhande on Tuesday, facing charges of aggravated indecent assault and robbery, reported <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200037572/three-women-rob-rape-motorist">NewsDay</a>.
The trio was remanded in custody until February 13, pending the completion of investigations.
The court heard that on January 25, the complainant was driving along Leopold Takawira Street when Sibanda reportedly forced open the passenger door and seized the gear lever, preventing him from driving. She then took the complainant’s Samsung Note 20 Ultra from the car’s armrest.
Sibanda allegedly threatened the complainant with a screwdriver, compelling him to accompany her to a nearby residence. Inside, Msipa and Harris joined them and reportedly began to caress the complainant. They then forcibly undressed and sexually assaulted him.
It is further alleged that after the assault, the suspects demanded money, and the complainant gave them US$20. They escorted him back to his car, where they stole a power bank, modulator, and phone charger. The suspects forced him to hire a taxi to his residence, where they received an additional US$80.
The three women’s luck ran out when the complainant spotted police officers patrolling the area. He shouted for help, leading to the suspects’ arrest and the recovery of his belongings.

A 35-year-old man from Nhlabithini Village 5 in Inyathi, Matabeleland North Province, has been arrested for allegedly inserting his finger into his 10-year-old daughter’s private parts to test her virginity, reported <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200037232/man-test-daughters-virginity-locked-up">NewsDay</a>.
The man, whose identity is withheld to protect the victim, appeared before regional magistrate Joseph Mabeza and pleaded not guilty to aggravated indecent assault. He has been remanded in custody until January 30.
According to the prosecutor, the incident occurred on an unknown date. The accused returned home and instructed his daughter to prepare food.
He then asked her to accompany him to check on a woman they lived with and told her to sit on his lap.
It is further alleged that while on his lap, the man questioned whether the girl had engaged in any inappropriate acts with men, including sexual activity.
He allegedly inserted his finger into her private parts while asking if it was painful.
The girl eventually disclosed the abuse to her aunt, who reported the matter to the police, leading to the man’s arrest.

A granddaughter of a landlord in Warren Park 1, Harare, has been arraigned before Harare regional magistrate Tilda Mazhande on charges of aggravated indecent assault.
As reported by <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/landlords-granddaughter-sexually-abuses-10-year-old-schoolboy/">H-Metro</a>, Fadzai Chimboza allegedly forced herself on a ten-year-old schoolboy on multiple occasions.
The magistrate did not ask Chimboza to plead and remanded her in custody until January 29. As she is facing a third schedule offence, she was advised to approach the High Court for bail considerations.
The court heard that Chimboza is the granddaughter of the landlord of the house where the boy lives with his parents.
It is alleged that in April 2024, the boy returned from school when Chimboza pulled him into her room, removed his clothes, and told him to lie on the bed. 
When he asked her to stop, she allegedly responded, “ndinoda kukuita zvisina kukwana,” and forced herself on him. She allegedly repeated this act several times thereafter.
The matter came to light on December 19 2024 when the boy told his cousin that he had sexual intercourse with his girlfriend, and his mother overheard him.
A police report of aggravated indecent assault was made, leading to Chimboza’s arrest.

Khaliphile Nyoni appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Joseph Mabeza last Wednesday, where she pleaded guilty to the charge.
During the proceedings, the magistrate inquired why she had breastfed the child when she was not the mother. Nyoni claimed that the child would often take her breast and start sucking. She said:

The child always took my breast and would start sucking. I told the mother and she did nothing about the issue. I used to sleep with the child and he would suck my breast every night, that is how he got used to the deed.

It was the State’s case that on December 1, the baby’s father discovered a photo on Nyoni’s cellphone showing her breastfeeding his son.
This prompted him to report the incident to the police, resulting in her arrest. Nyoni has since been remanded in custody, awaiting sentencing.

The pair was brought before Harare Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa and were remanded in custody until November 19 for a bail application.
According to court papers, on November 10, the complainant boarded Ncube’s truck in Chegutu, intending to travel to Chitungwiza via Harare. After arriving in Harare, Ncube parked the truck at Zim Meal Company in Waterfalls, where the complainant fell asleep in the passenger seat.
It is alleged that Ncube then removed the complainant’s clothing and began to touch him inappropriately. When the complainant objected, Moyo reportedly intervened, threatening him with a gun-like object. Ncube is further accused of performing sexual acts on the complainant without his consent.
Feeling unsafe and unfamiliar with the area, the complainant remained in the truck overnight. The following morning, he reported the incident to the police at ZRP Mbare, leading to the arrest of both Ncube and Moyo.

Catherine Nhongo, 39, appeared before Harare regional magistrate Donald Ndirowei, who remanded her in custody to this Wednesday for bail considerations.
The court heard that on November 10, the boy’s sister encountered Nhongo while returning from the shops. She informed Nhongo about her brother’s speech difficulties and other disabilities, prompting Nhongo to offer her help.
The sister accompanied Nhongo back to their home, where Nhongo requested beer and cigarettes to begin the spiritual proceedings. The boy’s brother went to fetch the items, which Nhongo consumed upon his return.
During the session, Nhongo ordered the boy’s brother to put mealie meal in the boy’s mouth. She then began touching the boy inappropriately and instructed his siblings to leave the house, insisting on being alone with him. They complied.
After about 15 minutes, the siblings heard strange sounds coming from inside. The boy eventually emerged, raising his hands as if trying to communicate something. He took his brother’s phone and typed that Nhongo had raped him.
Alarmed, the brother alerted his sisters, who subsequently contacted the police. Nhongo attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by the boy’s brother.

Female Traditional Healer Arrested For "Raping" Boy (17) During Healing Session

A 49-year-old security guard from Hwange is accused of sodomising a boy and two other men on separate occasions after offering them temporary accommodation at his workplace.
The suspect has been charged with four counts of aggravated indecent assault. To protect the victims’ identities, the accused’s name has not been disclosed.
He appeared before a magistrate in Hwange and has been remanded in custody until October 25.
One of the victims, a 17-year-old who accepted the accused’s offer for shelter, recounted a traumatic experience of being subjected to non-consensual anal intercourse while asleep in the guard’s bedroom.
In a statement, the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) indicated that the accused provided the victim with accommodation at his home, only to commit a grievous act the following night.
Despite efforts to protect himself by wearing tight-fitting clothing, the accused allegedly struck again, leaving the victim traumatised and fearful for his safety.
Sadly, this pattern of abuse continued, as two more male colleagues, aged 19 and 18, became victims of the accused’s depraved actions on separate occasions in August 2024. Said the NPA:

A 49-year-old man from Hwange who is employed as a security guard was arraigned before the Hwange Magistrates’ Court facing four counts of aggravated indecent assault.
On the 10th of August 2024, the accused person offered accommodation to the complainant (17) who had secured a job at his place of work. The accused person offered him accommodation at his house. 
Allegations are that, on the following night, the accused person and the complainant were asleep in the accused person’s bedroom, when the accused person had anal sexual intercourse with the complainant, without his consent.
The complainant confided in his friend and workmate who advised him to sleep wearing tight-fitting clothes to deter the accused person.
The accused person however had sexual intercourse with the complainant once more on the night of the 13th of August.
It is further alleged that the accused person also indecently assaulted two more male colleagues (19 and 18) using the same modus on the 15th of August and on the 25th of August, respectively.

The accused remains in custody while awaiting further legal proceedings, with a remand date set for October 25.

Security Guard Sodomises Three Men At His Workplace

A 28-year-old woman from Headlands has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by a Rusape magistrate for engaging in sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old boy without his consent.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faced charges of aggravated indecent assault in the Rusape Magistrates’ Court.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the accused first aroused the teenager by touching him before proceeding to have sexual intercourse without his consent. The NPA said:

It was the State’s case that on the 17th of August 2024 at around 1800 hours at Sherenje village the complainant who is a boy 17 years of age went to the accused person’s house intending to have the accused person send him some videos from her phone to his phone.
Upon arrival, the complainant and the accused person started sharing the videos whilst seated next to each other.
All of a sudden the accused person aroused the complainant by inserting her hand in the complainant’s pants and started fondling his private parts.
She then pulled down the boy’s trousers to knee level, produced a condom and put in on the complaint’s manhood.
The accused person pulled up her skirt and removed her pants, lay down and instructed the complainant to mount himself on top of her.
The accused person had sexual intercourse with the complainant without his consent. She told the complainant not to reveal the incident to anyone.
The accused person later continued to ask for more sex from the complainant but he rejected the requests.

The boy later confided in his mother about the ordeal, prompting her to accompany him to the police to file a report.
The accused was subsequently arrested, tried, and convicted, receiving a 10-year prison sentence.
Under Zimbabwe’s Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, the legal definition of rape is specific to forced penetration, which means that only a man can be charged with rape for penetrating a woman without her consent.
Due to this definition, a woman cannot be legally charged with raping a man in Zimbabwe. However, women can still be charged with aggravated indecent assault for similar acts, which carries penalties equivalent to those for rape.

The inmates were locked up for the night when Mazorodze allegedly instructed the complainant to enter Cell C2, where Ngwerume and Chinobhururuka were among the nine other inmates present.
It is alleged that the victim was awakened around midnight by Ngwerume’s caresses and that Ngwerume also sucked the complainant’s manhood.
When the complainant declined Ngwerume’s advances, he was allegedly assaulted with the assistance of Chinobhururuka and Mazorodze.
Chinobhururuka is said to have forced the complainant to ingest an unidentified drink, which made him feel dizzy and powerless.
The three inmates then allegedly removed the victim’s undergarments and took turns sodomizing him several times before returning to their respective places.
The matter was reported to a prison officer the following morning, and the victim was taken to the hospital for a medical examination.
The trial of the three accused inmates is scheduled to commence on September 4, 2024, at the Harare Magistrates Courts.

Three Prison Inmates In Court For Sodomy

A 22-year-old man from Mutorashanga was this week arraigned before the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court facing charges of aggravated indecent assault after he sodomised his 9-year-old nephew.
The State is alleging that, on 19 July 2024, at around 11 AM, the complainant, a 9-year-old boy was playing with his sister in the house when the accused person, his uncle, called him into his room.
It is alleged that upon entering the room, the accused person closed the door and ordered the complainant to remove his clothes, but he refused.
The accused person allegedly then forcibly removed the complainant’s shorts and indulged in anal intercourse with him, covering his mouth to prevent him from making any noise.
After the assault, the accused person instructed the complainant to get dressed and warned him not to disclose the incident to anyone.
The matter came to light when the complainant confided in his sister, who then informed their mother. 
Following an initial interview with the complainant, the complainant’s mother reported the incident to the police.
The accused person was remanded in custody and the trial date was set for 26 July 2024.

A 30-year-old woman from Zengeza 2, Chitungwiza, has been accused of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old sister since 2022 and recording videos of the abusive acts.
According to <a href="https://www.herald.co.zw/sister-sexually-assaults-sibling-records/">The Herald</a>, the accused, whose identity has been withheld to protect the younger sibling, appeared before Chitungwiza regional magistrate Gloria Takundwa last Thursday.
She was charged with aggravated indecent assault and has been remanded in custody until July 24th.
Prosecuting the case, Pamela Dzinduwa told the court that the alleged incidents began in September 2022, when the elder sister instructed the 14-year-old to undress and then sexually assaulted her using a banana, recording the act on video.
The court further heard that similar assaults occurred on multiple occasions, with the elder sister employing various objects, including a cucumber, and later using her fingers while making video calls to a man.
In one instance in June 2024, the older sister allegedly gave the child hair remover and then sexually assaulted her again.
The disturbing pattern of abuse came to light when the 14-year-old victim confided in her teachers at school, first informing her Shona teacher, then her Fashion and Fabrics teacher, and finally her Guidance and Counselling teacher, who reported the matter to the Department of Social Welfare.
A police investigation was subsequently launched, leading to the arrest of the older sister.

An 18-year-old woman from Mupfuuri Village, Hwedza, in Mashonaland East Province, who was brutally attacked and stripped naked by five assailants on July 4, 2024, has been offered free medical treatment by Dr Michael Mandaza of Pacific 24Hour Hospital in Mabvuku, Harare, reported <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/ray-of-hope-for-vicious-attack-victim-battered-woman-gets-free-nurse-aid-training-programme/">H-Metro</a>.
In the wake of this traumatic incident, the hospital has also extended an opportunity for Mada to undergo a three-month nursing aide training program, with the costs fully covered.

According to H-Metro, Mada failed her Ordinary Level examinations two years ago and has been living with her grandmother, as her mother works as a housemaid in Harare.
Mada’s father passed away some time ago, leaving the family in a very difficult financial situation.
The assault on Mada was particularly brutal, as the five assailants reportedly abused her for four hours.
They even inserted three sticks into her private parts, causing her to bleed continuously since the attack, as revealed by her mother.
Examinations conducted so far have indicated that Mada has sustained numerous bruises and scars all over her body as a result of the savage assault. She is still in severe pain and is walking with a noticeable limp.
Further medical checks, including X-rays of Mada’s chest, legs, and pelvis, did not reveal any fractures.
Her assailants were identified by the police as Vimbai Mike (19), Rudo Manjere (17), Lilly Rose Munyoro (16), Lillian Chido Munyoro (17), and Sandra Vhumbunu.
The attackers filmed the vicious assault, and they were subsequently arrested after the disturbing video footage went viral.
The motive behind the attack has not been confirmed but reports suggest that Mada was allegedly accused of spreading rumours about two of the assailants who are married women.

Viral Video Victim Receives Free Medical Treatment And Nursing Aide Training

The mother of an 18-year-old woman who was brutally attacked and stripped naked by five assailants in Mupfuuri Village, Wedza on July 4, 2024, has revealed that her daughter was abused for a harrowing four hours.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/gang-attack-lasted-four-hours-victim-still-alive/">H-Metro</a>, the victim’s mother, Sebia Muchenjekwa, said that her daughter, Mavis Mada, is alive but suffering from continuous bleeding and excruciating pain as a result of the assault.
Muchenjekwa is now appealing for financial assistance to cover the medical examination and treatment costs necessary for her daughter’s recovery from the traumatic incident. She said:

I am appealing for help to access medical examination costs for my daughter. My daughter is alive and writhing in pain.
I have used the little I had as a widow and I have nothing more, she has yet to undergo other examinations as well as attend court.

The five individuals accused of carrying out the brutal attack and stripping the 18-year-old woman naked in Mupfuuri Village have been identified as Vimbai Mike (19), Rudo Manjere (17), Lilly Rose Munyoro (16), Lillian Chido Munyoro (17), and Sandra Vhumbunu.
The attackers filmed the vicious assault, and they were subsequently arrested after the disturbing video footage went viral.

On Thursday, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that the five alleged assailants were apprehended on Wednesday and have been charged with the crime of aggravated indecent assault. He said:

Investigations by the police revealed that on July 4, at 11 00 hours, Rudo Manjere, Lilly Rose Munyoro and Lillian Chido Munyoro lured the victim, Mavis Mada, to Vimbai Mike’s homestead at Mupfuuri Village, Hwedza, on the pretext that they wanted to give her vegetable seedlings.
The five suspects took turns to assault the victim with switches and went on to insert three sticks into the victim’s private parts whilst recording a video.
The victim fell unconscious and the suspects poured water on her before freeing her naked at 1500 hours.
The arrest of the suspects led to the recovery of a Vivo cellphone which was used to record the assault incident.
Vimbai Mike is detained in Police custody while the other four suspects, who are juveniles, have been released in custody of their parents and they will be taken to court for the due processes of the law to take its course.
The complainant is alive and is currently receiving medical attention at Mount St Mary’s Hospital.

Viral Video Assault Victim "Bleeding Continuously", Says Mother

A 20-year-old man from Sadza, Chikomba District in Mashonaland East Province, was brought before the Chivhu Magistrates’ Court facing kidnapping and aggravated indecent assault charges.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the accused person kidnapped a 4-year-old boy for four days and kept him in the bush while having anal sexual intercourse with the child. Said the NPA:

The state proved that on the 16th day of May 2024 at Gwatidzo village the accused person met the complainant on his way back from school.
He lured him into a nearby bush by telling him that he had been sent by his mother to collect him after school. He kept the boy in the bush for several days before he was caught on the 20th of May 2024.
A few days after the boy went missing, the grandmother was informed that he had been seen in the area in the company of the accused person.
The villagers formed a search party leading to the accused person’s arrest. The child told his grandmother about the sexual abuse when the accused person was arrested.

The accused person was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment for the first count of kidnapping and on the second count he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. He will serve 24 years effective.

Sadza Man (20) Jailed 24 Years For Kidnapping And Sodomizing Boy (4)

A 35-year-old Victoria Falls woman was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment following her conviction on two counts of aggravated indecent assault by a Hwange Magistrate.
Indecent assault refers to any unwanted sexual contact or behaviour that violates a person’s bodily integrity without their consent.
Aggravated indecent assault is a more severe form of indecent assault and occurs when the assault involves specific aggravating factors such as penetration of any part of the victim’s body.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) outlined the brief facts of the matter as follows:

The State proved that sometime in January 2023 the accused person coerced her 28-year-old neighbour into having sexual relations with her without his consent at her field.
The accused person also engaged in sexual activities with the complainant sometime during the period extending from 1 February 2023 to 9 June 2023 without his consent.
The matter came to light when the complainant confided in his brother on the 10th of June 2023 leading to the accused person’s arrest.
</blockquote>
The woman was not charged with rape because that particular crime involves the penetration of a woman by a man.
The equivalent crime where a woman forces a man to have sexual intercourse with her is aggravated indecent assault, which carries the same penalty as rape.
The Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23] defines aggravated indecent assault in Section 66 (1) (b). It says:

Any person who… being a female person… has (i) sexual intercourse with or commits upon a male person any other act involving the penetration of any part of the male person’s body or of her own 
body; or
(ii) commits upon a female person any act involving the penetration of any part of the other female person’s body or of her own body;
with indecent intent and knowing that the other person has not consented to it or realising that there is a real risk or possibility that the other person may not have consented to it, shall be guilty of aggravated indecent assault and liable to the same penalty as is provided for rape.

Victoria Falls Woman (35) Jailed 15 Years For Forcing Man (28) To Have Sex With Her

A 52-year-old male inmate at Mutare Farm Prison received a further 16 years of imprisonment following his conviction for indecent assault and aggravated indecent assault.
Allegations were that sometime in November 2023, the accused person shared a cell with other inmates.
During the night, the complainant woke up to find the accused person caressing his buttocks. The accused person had already lowered the complainant’s trousers and underwear without consent. He was charged with indecent assault.
On the 3rd of January 2024, the accused person engaged in anal sexual relations with another inmate. This act was committed without the other inmate’s consent. He was charged with aggravated indecent assault.
The Mutare Magistrates’ Court sentenced the inmate to 1 year of imprisonment for the first count (indecent assault) and 15 years of imprisonment for the second count (aggravated indecent assault).
Incidents of sexual assault and misconduct within prisons are not uncommon. Inmates may exploit power imbalances, especially when one has authority or control over another.
Furthermore, inmates share close quarters, and privacy is limited. This lack of personal space can escalate tensions and create opportunities for unwanted advances.

Inmate Faces 16 More Years For Indecent Assault

A 27-year-old man from Marimbi Village, Seke District, Mashonaland East Province, has been sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for inserting his tongue into his 2-year-old niece’s privates.
The man whose identity is being concealed to protect the victim pleaded guilty to an aggravated indecent assault charge.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the man was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment, 3 of which were suspended on condition of good behaviour. The NPA said:

Brief facts are that on the 7th of January 2024, the complainant’s father caught the accused person red-handed inserting his tongue into the complainant’s private part.
The accused person is the brother of the complainant’s father. He had visited his brother’s residence.
The accused person pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment, 3 of which were suspended on condition of good behaviour.

Early this year, President Mnangagwa used his powers under the Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) Act to gazette as the Statutory Instrument 2 of 2024 the Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) (Criminal Laws (Protection of Children and Young Persons)) Regulations, 2024.
Under the regulations, even asking a person under 18 to take part in sexual or indecent acts is an offence.

Man (27) Jailed 18 Years For Molesting His 2-year-old Niece

A 30-year-old woman from Mpopoma suburb in Bulawayo was arrested after she allegedly forced her six-year-old son to have sex with her on several occasions.
The woman, who cannot be named so as to protect her son’s identity, recently appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Shepherd Mnjanja facing indecent assault charges.
The woman was not asked to plead. The magistrate remanded her in custody to 22 March for routine remand and advised her to apply for bail.
Prosecutors alleged that from January this year up to 13 March, the accused forced her six-year-old son to be intimate with her.
It is further alleged that initially, the victim refused but the mother threatened to beat him up with a cable.
Fear of being whipped induced the minor to give in to his mother’s demand and engaged in sex with her.
The matter only came to light after the boy told his friend about the abuse.
The victim’s friend told his mother who then reported the matter to the police leading to the accused’s arrest.

Woman (30) 'Rapes' Own Son Aged 6

Former Dynamos left-back Itai Stanley “Samora” Chirambadare on Tuesday denied allegations of sodomy when his trial opened at the Harare Magistrates Court.
Chirambadare is charged with aggravated indecent assault for allegedly sexually abusing a boy from his Mufakose-based soccer academy.
Chirambadare, through his lawyer Knowledge Maeresera, told the court that the teenage boy ceased to be a member of his club in 2020.
He said he never conducted training sessions because of the COVID-19 induced lockdowns.
Chirambadare alleged that it was in fact, the boy who reported him for sodomy who was in the habit of sexually abusing other boys at the academy.
He said the boy only made the report after his parents threatened to assault him.
Regional magistrate Themba Kuwanda presided over Chirambadare’s case while Valerie Ngoma prosecuted.

A 47-year-old woman from Marondera is facing aggravated indecent assault charges after she put her 14-year old stepdaughter through a virginity test.
The woman, from Gomo village, in Masomera, under Chief Svosve, cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim.
She allegedly inserted a cooking stick and her fingers into the girl’s private parts to test if she was still a virgin.
Mashonaland East Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Simon Chazovachii on Thursday confirmed the arrest of the suspect. He said:

I confirm the arrest of a Marondera woman who was charged with aggravated indecent assault. We urge the public to desist from such acts as it is an offence.

Allegations are that on an unknown date in November this year, the woman ordered her stepdaughter, who was preparing to go to school, to lie on her back.
She reportedly covered the girl’s face with a cloth before inserting a cooking stick in her private parts saying she was testing her virginity.
After a week, the suspect approached the girl again and inserted her fingers in her private parts in another round of virginity tests.
On Monday the girl told her class teacher about the incidents and a report was filed at ZRP Marondera Rural, leading to the arrest of the stepmother.

Stepmom Arrested Over "Cooking Stick" Virginity Test

Dynamos legend, Itai Stanley Chirambadare’s trial for aggravated indecent assault was on Monday deferred to next year.
The former Dynamos left-back, nicknamed Samora, was arrested for allegedly sodomising a 13-year-old student at his Mufakose Sports Academy.
The case has now been deferred to 20 January 2022, as the presiding magistrate was not available to hear the matter on Monday.
Chirambadare (56) was granted $5 000 bail by High Court judge, Justice Webster Chinamhora in early May this year after spending a week in remand prison.
Prosecutors told the court that Chirambadare abused the boy over a period of time until the minor developed piles.
The abuse took place in Chirambadare’s house in Mufakose when he would send the minor to clean the place.
Chirambadare would threaten to kill the boy if he revealed the ordeal to anyone, the court heard.
The matter came to light after the boy developed some piles after which he revealed his abuse to his uncle.
The uncle later helped him report the matter to the police leading to the arrest of Chirambadare.
Meanwhile, several court cases have been postponed to next year due to the absence of court officials, some of whom have contracted the novel coronavirus.

Dynamos Legend, Chirambadare Sodomy Case Deferred To 2022

A 46-year-old woman from Rusape recently molested a 15-year-old boy during the night at her home after restraining him from going back home on the pretext that it was too dark.
The woman, Charity Muwereka of Plot 8, Nyamwari Farm, this week appeared before Rusape magistrate, Obedience Matare facing one count of aggravated indecent assault.
She was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to 20 December. Matare also advised Muwereka to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Justice Masanganise told the court that Muwereka woke up during the night and sexually molested the teenager. He said:

Muwereka is a neighbour to the complainant. On November 1, the complainant penned their cattle at Plot 9, Nyamwari Farm which is about 100 meters from Muwereka’s place.
Muwereka called the teenager and asked him to fix the lighting system in her bedroom. After fixing the lighting system, Muwereka told the teenager that it was no longer safe for him to go home since it was dark.
She told the teenager to sleep with her eight-year-old son in the dining room. Muwereka slept in the bedroom with her two daughters.
Later during the night, the complainant woke up to discover that Muwereka was sexually abusing him.
The teenager asked Muwereka what she was doing, but she told him not to tell anyone.
Muwereka continued sexually molesting the teenager for about five minutes before going back to her bedroom.

According to the prosecutor, the teenager went back home the following morning but could not tell her mother what had happened at Muwereka’s place. Instead, he started crying.
His mother took him to a local member of the ZRP’s Neighborhood Watch Committee, Abel Mushayabasa where he narrated what had transpired at the suspect’s place the previous night.
The boy said he could not tell her mother what had taken place as he was afraid that she could give him a thorough beating.

Rusape Woman (46) Molests Neighbour's Son (15)

A Harare doctor, Tinovimba Mhlanga, has been acquitted of aggravated indecent assault charges following allegations that he fondled a female client during a medical examination at Invitro Fertilisation Zimbabwe fertility clinic.
Harare regional magistrate Gloria Takundwa yesterday found Mhlanga not guilty of sexually abusing Tinotenda Zowa who had visited his clinic to donate a fertilisation egg in March this year.
Through his lawyer Oliver Marwa, Mhlanga denied the charges, saying Zowa had concocted the accusations to soil his image.
In acquitting Mhlanga, Takundwa said the State had failed to establish evidence pointing out that Zowa was sexually abused during the time she intended to donate the egg.
The magistrate also noted inconsistencies in testimonies regarding how the alleged offence was committed.
Prosecuting, Cecilia Mashingaidze had alleged that Zowa went to Mhlanga’s surgery on 14 March at around 1 pm for a medical examination.
Mhlanga allegedly first conducted HIV tests first and instructed her to go to the examination room.
While in the examination room, Zowa removed her clothes and wore a hospital gown and then went to lie on the bed awaiting the examination.
Mhlanga allegedly instructed Zowa to open her legs in a butterfly position for him to conduct the examination before he inserted his fingers into her privates several times before fondling her breasts.
The following day (15 March), Zowa reportedly went to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital where she was examined and received counselling after narrating her ordeal to the counsellors.
Through lawyer Marwa, Mhlanga refuted the allegations asserting he professionally conducted his duties as a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist. He said:

The procedure for human egg donation is a delicate one which under normal circumstances, can only be properly performed by a specialist doctor in a clinical setup.
The procedure naturally involves digital penetrative contact with the patient’s genitalia.
The complainant consented in writing to the procedure after it was meticulously explained to her in detail such that the allegation in the charge that she had not consented is as malicious as they are unfounded.
The accused acted within the scope of engagement of any professional specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist of his training and experience such that any allegations that he overstepped his boundaries are very unfortunate and unfounded.

Fertility Doctor Found Not Guilty Of Sexual Assault On Patient

A Harare-based doctor has been dragged to court on allegations of fondling his client’s breasts and inserting fingers inside her private parts.
Tinovimba Mhlanga (36), who works at Ivirita Fertilisation Clinic in Belvedere, appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi charged with indecent assault.
He was remanded out of custody to 28 July for trial on his own recognition since he came to court from home.
According to charges prepared by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), on 14 March 2021, the alleged victim told police she was consulting Dr Mhlanga over processes to donate her egg to a couple that is struggling to conceive.
After collecting a blood sample for an HIV test, Dr Mhlanga – who was alone – allegedly advised the woman to enter an examination room, remove her clothes and wear a hospital gown.
The doctor allegedly followed the woman into the examination room moments later, but demanded that she should discard the gown so that he could carry out an “internal scan”.
It is alleged that Mhlanga instructed the victim to open her legs in a butterfly position for him to conduct the examination and she complied.
It further alleged that Mhlanga inserted his two fingers into the victims’ private parts whilst the other hand was holding her abdomen. This he did several times.
Mhlanga allegedly removed his fingers from the woman’s private parts and smeared the discharge on her clitoris.
He then instructed her to step down from the bed and bend down. Mhlanga allegedly inserted his fingers into the woman’s private parts whilst pressing himself on her.
Mhlanga allegedly told his victim that he was doing this to check if her discharge had no infection.
Mhlanga, it is further alleged, later removed the woman’s bra and started fondling her breasts saying he was conducting a breast examination whilst breathing heavily on her ear.
The court heard that the victim put on her clothes and left.
On the following day, the victim went to the Sally Mugabe Hospital where she narrated her experiences with Mhlanga the previous day.
She was examined and police were called leading to Mhlanga’s arrest.

Doctor Arrested For Fondling Client At Fertility Clinic

The High Court has granted bail to Precious Teya, the woman in an alleged sex scandal with a 13-year-old boy.
A judge ordered Teya to pay $10 000 with the Clerk of Court Harare, continue residing at her Chitungwiza address and not to interfere with witnesses.
She is also to report twice on Mondays and Fridays at the nearest police station.
The 26-year-old is being accused of bedding the minor after an Internet hook-up.
She was arrested last month and was first charged with “having sexual intercourse with a minor”, then “rape”, now she faces an “aggravated indecent assault”.
Teya has been in custody for nine days.
She is being represented by Moses Nyatsoma is expected back in court soon for routine remand.

Woman Accused Of Bedding Boy (13) Granted $10 000 Bail

A Harare woman accused of bedding a minor after an Internet hook-up, on Thursday had her High Court bail application rolled over to this Friday.
Precious Teya (26) was arrested last month and charged with rape before she was directed to seek bail at the High Court.
She was first charged with “having sexual intercourse with a minor”, then “rape”, now she faces an “aggravated indecent assault” charge.
Prosecutors allege that on 22 February, the complainant — a Form Two pupil at a renowned private school in Marondera — hooked up with Teya on a dating site and then messaged her via WhatsApp.
Teya sent a list of the services she offered and the respective prices namely NURUV – US$15, FETISH – US$30, FULLHOUSE – US$40 and SEX -US$20.
On 23 February, Teya arrived in a taxi at the complainant’s house in Houghton Park where she met the boy and had sexual intercourse with him.
The boy then asked Teya to leave, but she refused, demanding her money and the minor had to approach a neighbour asking for US$120 so that she could leave.
Teya’s lawyer, Moses Nyatsoma, has accused the State of inconsistencies. He said:
<blockquote>Unfortunately, the State has not served us with papers containing the rape charge. This is the third time they have amended the charge.
This to some extent shows how unstable the State is to prefer charges against my client.
However, the facts at hand also contradict what really transpired on the day in question.</blockquote>
Nyatsoma said the State has not yet provided any evidence to prove that the complainant was 13 years old. He said:
<blockquote>The child is purported to be 13, but we haven’t seen any documents accompanying such claims.
The boy also has a secret cell phone that no one is aware of including his parents and uses it to lure girls online for sexual favours.
We have requested his birth certificate which has not been made available and under normal circumstances, the State, in the absence of a birth certificate orders for an age estimate, that also has not been done.
In as far as the age of the child is concerned we are not sure of anything, if you also look at the stature of the child you cannot tell that he is 13 years of age.
There was no way my client could have made that guess and withdrew herself, also looking at his behaviour of hiring the services of a hooker and paying a taxi, which is not consistent with a 13-year-old.</blockquote>
