A Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) manager based in Beitbridge, Lonto Ndlovu, appeared in court on Wednesday facing charges of defeating the course of justice in a case involving US$27,000.
Ndlovu was remanded in custody until April 17 for trial. The complainant in the case is Johannes Tagasira, the director of Silverline Chemicals Private Limited.
According to the State’s outline, in April 2024, Silverline Chemicals imported 38,000 litres of methanol, valued at around US$27,000, through the Beitbridge Border Post.
The cargo underwent clearance procedures, which included Condep checks, physical inspections, and sample collection. ZIMRA was satisfied with the inspections and documentation, and the cargo was cleared for transport.
However, while en route to Harare, the truck was stopped at Bubi on suspicion that it was carrying diesel rather than methanol. The truck was then escorted back to Beitbridge for re-inspection.
On April 8, 2024, it is alleged that samples were taken and sent to NOIC for testing. ZIMRA subsequently issued notices of seizure for the cargo, truck, and trailer, claiming that the cargo was diesel, not methanol.
The complainant disputed this, insisting that the cargo contained methanol, not diesel. To confirm this, he paid US$1,200 for an independent test at the Standard Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ).
On April 12, ZIMRA took another sample to ZERA for re-testing, and the results showed the sample met standards for paraffin.
On April 15, the complainant, through an official email, challenged the test results. He later learned that ZIMRA officials were planning to sell and dispose of the cargo without his knowledge.
As a result, the complainant filed an urgent chamber application with the High Court on April 22, 2024.
On April 24, a ZIMRA legal officer, Tinashe Marange, officially emailed Lonto informing her about the judicial proceedings at the Masvingo High Court concerning the cargo.
Lonto was served with court papers in which she was cited as the accused. She filed an opposing affidavit in response.
On April 25, the complainant’s lawyer, Kudzai Tandi, emailed Lonto, reminding her not to dispose of the cargo, as it was the sole exhibit in the pending judicial proceedings.
Chrispen Chidzenga, a ZIMRA legal department official, also instructed the accused not to dispose of the cargo until the judicial proceedings at the Masvingo High Court had concluded.
That same day, the case was heard by Justice Zisengwe, who ordered ZIMRA not to dispose of the cargo.
However, despite the High Court’s order, Lonto proceeded to sell and accept payment for the cargo later that day, during the hearing of the urgent chamber application.
By April 28, 2024, she went further to disregard the High Court order by disposing of the cargo from the ZIMRA warehouse, leading to the destruction of the sole exhibit in the pending judicial proceedings.
As a result, a third, independent test could not be conducted because the evidence was destroyed.

ZIMRA Official Defies High Court Ruling, Destroys Evidence In US$27,000 Case

Four Zimbabwean nationals based in South Africa have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Pretoria High Court after being convicted for their involvement in the brutal killing of a South African National Defence Forces (SANDF) member, Joel Sekano, in 2022.
Cuthbert Ndlovu Malatjila (22) from Winterveldt, Talent Moyo (31) from Oukasie, James Muzora (26), and Luckson Simbarashe Ruchapu (28) from Mabopane were found guilty of premeditated murder, robbery, and attempted murder.
In addition to life sentences for the murder of Sekano and an innocent bystander, Edward Karabo Dire, the four men received 15 years’ imprisonment for four counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances and five years each for three counts of attempted murder.
The court also imposed further penalties: Malatjila, Muzora, and Moyo were sentenced to a collective 25 years for two counts of possession of unlicensed firearms, and each defendant received 12 months for two counts of possessing ammunition.
Malatjila, Ruchapu, and Muzora were sentenced to 12 months for being in South Africa illegally.
Gauteng regional spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Lumka Mahanjana, confirmed that these sentences will run concurrently with the life imprisonment terms.
The tragic incident occurred on June 16, 2022, when Sekano and his friend were standing outside his residence in Masakeng Section, Oukasie, when the four men approached them.
They robbed the victims of their cellphones and wallets, and during the robbery, Sekano’s friend was struck on the head with a firearm, knocking him unconscious. The robbers then fatally shot Sekano and stole his firearm before fleeing the scene. Said Mahanjana:

The NPA welcomed the sentence and reaffirms its commitment for justice in the protection of South African citizens.

Four Zimbabwean Nationals Sentenced To Life For Killing South African Soldier

Former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Members of Parliament, Amos Chibaya and Costa Machingauta, were convicted on Friday by Harare Magistrate Sharon Takafa for disturbing public peace. They were convicted along with Aletta Viremai, Lancelot Tungwarara, and Monica Mukwada.
The five activists were represented by lawyers Kudzai Kadzere and Chris Mhike from the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum.
The magistrate ruled that the CCC leaders acted with “common purpose,” meaning they were all responsible for the actions, as they continued chanting party slogans even after police ordered them to disperse.
However, Magistrate Takafa acquitted five other people, saying the police had made dragnet arrests and some of those arrested were simply going about their business when the incident occurred.
The case stems from a private meeting held at Machingauta’s house in Budiriro on January 14 of last year, where police say the actions of CCC leaders and supporters disrupted public peace. The court will return on Monday for pre-sentencing.

The ZRP made it clear that those found responsible for spreading such false narratives to cause alarm and despondency will face the full consequences of the law. The ZRP said:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched an investigation into reports of petrol-driven vehicle fires in and around Harare.
According to ZRP spokesperson Paul Nyathi, the incidents took place at various business premises in Avondale, Highlands, Newlands, and Goromonzi during the early hours of Friday, 28 March 2025.
Nyathi said the vehicles were deliberately set on fire by the individuals driving them. After igniting the fires, the perpetrators swiftly jumped into accompanying vehicles and fled the scenes at high speeds. He said:

Police have launched a manhunt for the assailants responsible for the cold-blooded shooting of a police officer around midnight on 28 March 2025 in Sizinda Suburb, Bulawayo.

ZRP Launches Manhunt For Nyokayemabhunu Over Alleged US$60,000 Fraud

A Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officer was tragically shot dead in Sizinda, Bulawayo, shortly after midnight on Friday. 
The officer, Sergeant Abel Masava, was responding to a domestic violence situation when he encountered a group of five men dressed in dark clothing.
According to an internal police memo obtained by <a href="https://www.zimlive.com/police-officer-shot-dead-after-stopping-5-suspicious-looking-men-in-bulawayo-suburb/">ZimLive</a>, Masava, who was stationed at the Tshabalala Police Station, was standing next to a police vehicle when he noticed the suspicious group approaching. 
Masava, who was wearing his police uniform, stopped the men and asked them where they were coming from and requested that they identify themselves.
The memo details the harrowing moment: one of the men drew a firearm and shot Sergeant Masava in the head. 
He was quickly rushed to the United Bulawayo Hospitals but was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.
Earlier that night, Masava had left the police station alongside another officer after being alerted to a report of domestic violence. 
As the second officer, the victim, and her friend negotiated entry into the house, Masava remained by the vehicle outside when he was fatally shot.
This incident marks a grim period for law enforcement in Bulawayo, as Masava is the second officer to lose his life on duty in just a month. 
On March 6, Detective Constable Cassandra Hove was killed after being shot in the chest by a colleague in Pumula South suburb. It is alleged that the bullet that struck her ricocheted off the arm of an armed robbery suspect.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi on Thursday, 27 March, confirmed the arrests of Temptation Gerald Dinhidza (44), Tawanda Mushawatu (45), Anold Tafireyi (38), and Mike Mhaka (45). He said:

On 25th March 2025, detectives from CID Homicide received information which implicated Temptation Gerald Dinhidza to the robbery incident and that he intended to dispose of a Mercedes Benz C200 vehicle, registration number AEW 5657, which he bought using his share from the loot.

Further investigations led to the arrest of three other suspects, Tawanda Mushawatu, Anold Tafireyi, and Mike Mhaka. 
The suspects led the detectives to the recovery of USD 1700.00 cash, a 0.455 Smith and Wesson revolver, 20 x 12 Bore live rounds, 23 x 9 mm live rounds and an empty magazine.

Police have caught four more people for stealing money from Chivayo's in-law farm in Zimbabwe. The thieves took $74,000, which was part of the lobola money Chivayo paid recently. The police found one of the suspects trying to sell a car he bought with the stolen money. They also recovered cash, a gun, and bullets. The suspects used the money to buy many things. The police are happy people helped them catch the thieves and want everyone to report crimes to them.

Four More Suspects Arrested Over Chivayo Lobola Money Armed Robbery

Police in Rusape have launched a manhunt for a 31-year-old Mukuru employee, Jasper Pondo, who is accused of stealing US$23,393 and R9,500 from the company’s safe before fleeing.
According to Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Manicaland Province, Pondo took the money after Fawcett Security Company delivered it to the booth in March 2025.
The theft was discovered when Eunia Masanhi, a 40-year-old N. Richards employee, noticed Pondo directing customers to other Mukuru booths, which led to low sales at the branch. She informed Christopher Govanai, a supervisor, who asked Fawcett Security to investigate.
When security checked, Pondo was still at work but quickly disappeared after pretending to answer a call. When they opened the safe, the cash was gone.
A report was filed with ZRP Rusape Central, but no arrests or recoveries have been made so far. Police are still looking for Pondo.

Mukuru Employee On The Run After Stealing Over US$23,000 From Safe

An elderly couple from Bulawayo, Frank Sibanda and his wife, Francisca Netsai, both 65, were sentenced to seven years in prison on March 26, 2025, for embezzling over US$30,000 from Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe.
Due to a technical glitch, the bank mistakenly deposited the funds into Francisca’s account, and the couple exploited the error, withdrawing US$34,110.47 and spending it on extravagant shopping trips in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
The couple was convicted on 47 counts of theft, and the court suspended four years of their sentence for five years on the condition of no similar offences.
The remaining three years are suspended if they repay the stolen amount to the bank by June 20.
In her ruling, Bulawayo regional magistrate Dambudzo Malunga said that the court considered their advanced age, Francisca’s health problems, and their responsibility for their six-year-old grandchild, and the fact that they are first-time offenders, in reducing the sentence. She said:

You committed a very serious offence, prejudicing Stanbic Bank of a substantial sum. However, the court has tempered justice with mercy in the interest of fairness.

The Sibandas’ lawyer, Jabulani Ndubiwa of Mashayamombe and Company Attorneys, argued for a non-custodial sentence due to Francisca’s health complications and their caregiving responsibilities.
The couple’s crime was discovered during a routine audit by Stanbic Bank. The bank noticed some strange transactions in their records, which led to an investigation and the couple’s arrest.
The story started on February 5 2024, when Francisca opened a bank account at Stanbic Bank in Bulawayo. 
Her daughter, Rudo, lied about Francisca working for a company in Harare to help open the account. Francisca was then given a Visa card linked to the account.
On April 5, Francisca tried to make a purchase for about US$17.95 at a store in Bulawayo, but the transaction didn’t go through. 
However, due to a mistake during the bank’s process, Francisca’s account was wrongly credited with more than US$40,000 (US$40,850.86) instead of the correct amount.
Realising the mistake, the couple decided to spend the money. Between April 30 and May 1, they withdrew US$2,025 in cash from Stanbic Bank in Bulawayo and spent US$32,085.47 in South Africa. 
They went on shopping trips to places like Sandton and Maboneng, known for their markets and trendy spots.
The bank later noticed the irregular transactions and reported it to the police. After investigating, the couple was arrested. In total, they stole US$34,110.47, and the money was never recovered.

Elderly Couple Jailed For Exploiting Bank Glitch To Steal US$34,000

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Officer Commanding Harare Central District, Chief Superintendent Masvivi, has issued a prohibition order that prevents members of the public from carrying items that could be used as weapons.
The ban comes just days before protests called by outspoken war veteran Blessed Geza, who has demanded that President Emmerson Mnangagwa resign for allegedly overseeing a corrupt and incompetent government.
On Wednesday night, Geza conducted another live broadcast, urging citizens to take to the streets on March 31 to protest.
In a statement released on March 26, 2025, Masvivi urged community members to refrain from carrying various items, including catapults, machetes, knobkerries, swords, knives, and daggers.
He said the ZRP has “reasonable grounds” to believe that carrying these items, whether openly or concealed, could contribute to public disorder or a breach of peace.
The prohibition also extends to traditional weapons, which the police have flagged as potential threats to safety.
This order will remain in effect for a period of two months, starting from Thursday, March 27, 2025, until May 31, 2025. Reads the order:

Police In Harare Ban Carrying Of Traditional Weapons

An illegal foreign currency dealer (money changer) was shot and robbed of US$5,700, BWP2,000, R1,400, and a Samsung A13 mobile phone in Luveve on Monday night.
The ZRP’s Acting Spokesperson in Bulawayo Province, Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, confirmed the incident, which occurred around 9:30 PM.
She said the victim, a 30-year-old man from Gwabalanda, Bulawayo, who works as an illegal foreign currency dealer, was returning home from the city centre when he was accosted by the armed robber. Said Msebele:

The suspects, Aleck Kanyonzo (42) and Tendai Tabazha (42), faced multiple charges after eight women, aged 19 to 42, reported that they had been lured with promises of employment and then attacked.
The pair appeared before Harare Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa, who advised them to seek bail at the High Court because the charges were serious. They will return to court on April 8 as the investigation continues.
It is alleged that Tabazha would approach women in public places, offering them jobs as housemaids or shop assistants. Once the women showed interest, she collected their contact details to arrange meetings.
Kanyonzo would then pick them up, pretending to take them to work. Instead, he would drive them to isolated areas near Lake Chivero farms, where he allegedly threatened them with a knife, raped them, and stole their belongings, including phones, clothes, and cash.
The pair reportedly targeted women between January 2024 and March 2025, attacking each victim on different days. The stolen items were given to Tabazha, who would sell them and share the money with Kanyonzo and another accomplice who is still at large.
They ran out of luck on March 20, 2025, after Tabazha approached a relative of a 23-year-old woman, offering a job as a shop assistant. Although the relative refused, they shared the victim’s contact information.
The next day, the victim met Tabazha at Machipisa Shopping Centre, where Kanyonzo took over, leading her onto a commuter bus.
Instead of taking her to a job, he took her to a secluded area, where he allegedly raped her three times at knifepoint and stole her phone and bag.
After the assault, the traumatised victim encountered some passersby who helped her track Kanyonzo. He was caught with her stolen phone and clothes.

Harare Magistrate Ethel Chichera has sentenced Prosper Biziweki (48) to three years in prison after convicting him of forging the title deed of former Minister of Education Dzingai Mutumbuka’s house, which was fraudulently sold in June 2021.
Biziweki will, however, serve an effective two-year jail term after Chichera suspended one year on the condition of good behaviour.
Another suspect in the fraud case, Tatenda Wakatama, was acquitted on the grounds that he only placed an advertisement for the sale of the house.
Chichera, however, criticized the police for excluding several key suspects who she said should have been arrested for the offence.
She ruled that the forgery and illegal sale of the house were carried out by a syndicate, and most of its members had been turned into State witnesses by the police.
Chichera noted that one Lynna Mlambo stole Mutumbuka’s title deed from the Deeds Office, where she worked as a supervisor, but was brought in as a State witness by investigating officer Tafadzwa Marashe.
The police could not account for Jonah Ngome, who sold Mutumbuka’s house and in whose name the forged title deed was.
<h2>How the Fraud was Executed</h2>
The court heard that in June 2021, Wakatama, Biziweki, and Ngome stole from Mutumbuka by forging the title deed for his house.
They took the original title deed for house number 90 Harare Drive in Chisipite, Harare, and created a fake title deed in Ngome’s name.
They advertised the house on social media using the fake title deed.
Harrison Marange showed interest in buying the property, with Kenias Mutyisira helping to arrange the sale.
The two parties agreed on a price of US$140,000 for the house, with US$90,000 paid upfront as a deposit and US$50,000 to be paid after the property was registered and transferred.
Marange paid Ngome US$45,000 in September 2021 as part of the deposit, with the remaining US$45,000 due in October 2021.
The police stopped the transaction after Mangwere from the Registrar’s Office confirmed that the title deed in Ngome’s name was fake.

Two suspected robbers who allegedly robbed Wicknell Chivayo’s in-laws of US$74,000 at their Marondera farm appeared in court on Tuesday, March 25.
Peter Maramba Vhiya (43) and Takudzwa Maisvoreva (24), both from Chitungwiza, faced two counts of robbery before Regional Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa. They were informed that only the High Court could grant bail.
They were remanded to April 10 to allow for the case of a third suspect to be joined with their case.
The National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) Lancelot Mutsokoti told the court that on March 18, at around 1 AM, the pair, along with accomplices still at large, raided Alfa and Omega Farm in Marondera while armed with three rifles, two pistols, bolt cutters, machetes, and iron bars.
Mutsokoti further alleged that upon arrival, the suspects ambushed Petros Mabunhu, a security guard employed by DM Security, assaulting him with iron bars and kicking him repeatedly. They tied his hands and legs with cable ties before forcing him into the farmyard.
There, they encountered another guard, Zex Mutasa Rusike, disarming him of a shotgun without ammunition.
Rusike was similarly bound and marched to the front guardroom, where a third guard, Medic Zhakata, was also attacked and restrained.
The security guards were left under the watch of two armed accomplices while the rest of the gang broke into the main house.
Using bolt cutters, they forced entry through the burglar screen and kitchen door, eventually confronting Gerald Muteke in his bedroom.
Fearing for his life, Muteke surrendered US$18,000 in cash, a loaded Sarsilmaz pistol, and two Samsung smartphones (an S23 and an S24).
The gang then moved to Vimbai Muteke’s bedroom, where they demanded cash and the safe keys.
She handed over US$1,100, the safe key, and a Samsung Galaxy A35. Inside the main bedroom safe, the robbers took an additional US$55,000.
As the robbers continued their raid, Elphas Maruta, armed with a Lee-Enfield .303 rifle loaded with four rounds, advanced toward the house after being alerted of the robbery.
A shootout ensued, with Maruta firing two shots and the suspects firing back three shots.
The gang ultimately fled the scene with a total of US$74,600 in cash and valuables. The police later recovered stolen property worth US$3,800.

Ernest Njazi was allegedly caught raping his friend’s wife, who is 39 years old. The victim’s husband walked in on the act and assaulted the accused. The woman claimed that she had been raped.
The spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Harare Province, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case to <a href="https://www.heraldonline.co.zw/man-arrested-for-raping-friends-wife/">H-Metro</a>. He said:

The complainant was drunk and was given a room to sleep by the accused person’s wife and she went to sleep.
The accused person remained in the sitting room with the complainant’s husband whilst drinking some more beer. Later, the complainant’s husband fell asleep on the sofa.
The accused person took advantage that his friend had slept, and he crept inside the room where the complainant was sleeping.

It is alleged that sounds from the room awakened the complainant’s husband, who went to investigate, leading to a scuffle with the accused.
The accused’s wife and children rushed to the scene from the ensuing chaos and diffused the situation.

Tatenda Zinyengere (19), Kelvin Chinganga (31), Siphelile Zinyengere, and Obey Rwaendepi (28) face charges of aiding Luke escape from court premises and subsequently harbouring him following the escape. Added Nyathi:

Two teenage lovers from Mutare have been arrested after stealing a staggering US$25,000, which they spent on luxury items, including a car and the latest iPhones.
The girl, aged 16, allegedly stole the money from her sister’s husband and spent it with her 15-year-old boyfriend and his mother.
According to Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the girl, who is from Chikanga high-density suburb, stole US$25,000 from her brother-in-law.
She and her boyfriend used the stolen cash to buy a Honda Fit, three iPhones, and various clothing items.
The boyfriend is said to have given some of the money to his mother, Munyaradzi Madzure (39), for safekeeping.
The theft was uncovered after the girl began displaying US$100 notes on her WhatsApp status. This raised suspicions, leading her brother-in-law, Kelvin Motsi, to report the missing money to the police. Said Commissioner Nyathi:
On March 14, at around 10 am, the complainant reported a case of theft, whereby the unknown accused person stole his money amounting to US$25,000 from his suit jacket.

The vehicle and three iPhones were recovered and are kept as exhibits. The total value stolen is US$25,000, and the total value recovered is US$9,000.

Regular audits, better training for employees and stronger repercussions for those involved are essential steps toward restoring confidence in the system.
This is a case that should serve as a catalyst for broader reforms within Zimbabwe’s property management and legal frameworks. A comprehensive overhaul of the Deeds Office, combined with increased oversight and accountability, can significantly reduce instances of fraud and protect the rights of property owners.
The corruption evident in the Mutumbuka-Bizwick case is an example of a much larger problem within the Deeds Office and the policing of property crimes in Zimbabwe. It is time for decisive action to protect property owners and ensure the integrity of real estate transactions. Police on Monday re-arrested an armed robbery suspect who had escaped from court last Friday.
Luke Zinyengere, 29, was allegedly given a firearm by a prison officer, which he used to shoot at prison officers and hijack a vehicle during his escape. He was later re-arrested in Harare.
In addition to the robbery charge, Zinyengere now faces charges of illegal possession of a firearm, unlawful escape from custody, and carjacking after he drove off in a Mazda Demio outside the Harare Magistrates Court.
Zinyengere’s re-arrest followed the arraignment of prison officer Donald Madzinga, 39, who is accused of facilitating the escape of two prisoners.
The second inmate, Richard Marondera, did not get far and was re-arrested within the court precinct.
Zinyengere and Marondera are on trial for two armed robbery cases, including a raid at Quest Financial Services in Harare in February 2024, during which they reportedly stole US$720,000.
The court heard that Madzinga was allegedly given a revolver by a relative of Zinyengere to aid in his escape. Said prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti:

It is alleged that Tinotenda Zinyengere provided the revolver to Donald Madzinga who then gave it to Luke Zinyengere and Richard Marondera, who reportedly kept it in their cell.
Madzinga is said to have used his phone to facilitate communication between Zinyengere and the two inmates, coordinating the details of their escape plan. Said Mutsokoti:

Madzinga is scheduled to return to court on Tuesday for a bail hearing before Magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa.

The driver, Gaylord Hunda (27), is facing charges of culpable homicide and is being represented by Stanley Matandadzi.
Hunda is expected to return to court on Tuesday for a ruling on his bail application.
The State alleges that on March 19, 2024, along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway, Hunda was driving a Toyota Hiace omnibus en route to the city centre.
Hunda allegedly failed to yield to oncoming traffic from the right at an intersection on the highway.
In an attempt to avoid an accident, Hunda swerved to the left side of the road, where he collided with a truck that was parked on the roadside.
He also allegedly struck a person who was standing near the road.

Dzivarasekwa Accident Kombi Driver Faces Culpable Homicide Charges

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on Monday, 24 March, opted not to pursue charges against Owen Madondo, better known as DJ Ollah 7, following his recent arrest in connection with alleged cyberbullying.
The allegations were raised by Mudiwa Hood, who claimed that remarks made by guest Mukudzei Chatsama, also known as Holy Ten, during a podcast caused him distress and humiliation.
Despite this, the NPA concluded that Madondo, in his capacity as the podcast host, did not exhibit the intent to harass or bully.
The comments in question were made by his guest during a live broadcast, which led the NPA to determine that Madondo was not responsible for the alleged harm. Said the NPA:

While the complainant expressed a wish not to pursue the matter further, the Prosecutor General has the final authority in deciding whether charges are withdrawn, in accordance with NPAZ Prosecutorial Guidelines. 
Victims of crime or complainants do not have the power to end criminal court processes this decision rests with the Prosecutor General.

During a podcast interview with DJ Ollah 7, Holy Ten made explosive allegations against Hood, born Ian Mutandwa, and Uebert Angel, Zimbabwe’s Ambassador-at-Large to Europe and the Americas.
He claimed that Hood took a gun and condoms to church and that Angel repeatedly asked him to find young women for his personal pleasure.
Holy Ten also recalled an incident during a visit to Angel’s church, where he alleges that Hood showed him a gun and then revealed a stash of condoms from his bag. He said:

I swear I will never go back to that church again. You can even ask my crew. Those people are not who they claim to be.
I was first inspired to pray by Uebert Angel. I used to watch his sermons. But for him to turn into someone who asks me to find ‘slay queens’ was the worst thing ever.

Earlier reports suggested that Hood withdrew the charges after both Holy Ten and DJ Ollah 7 issued apologies.
However, the truth is that the State declined to prosecute DJ Ollah 7 because no crime was committed on his part.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) decided not to charge DJ Ollah 7 for cyberbullying after a complaint from Mudiwa Hood. The NPA said DJ Ollah 7 did not intend to bully. This was because the harmful comments were made by a guest on his podcast, not him. The NPA explained that victims can't end court processes, only the Prosecutor General can. Holy Ten accused Hood and Uebert Angel of bad things during the podcast. Hood later dropped the charges. The NPA didn't prosecute DJ Ollah 7 because they found he did nothing wrong.

National Prosecuting Authority Declines To Prosecute DJ Ollah 7

ZIMASCO has filed an urgent High Court application to block attempts by Kwekwe-based businessman Shepard Tundiya to take control of the chrome mining and smelting company.
The High Court had recently granted an order to Avim Investments, a company owned by Tundiya, to take over ZIMASCO.
However, in its court papers, ZIMASCO argued that the order, issued by Justice Joel Mambara, was directed at a different, unrelated entity—Sinosteel Zimasco (Pvt) Ltd, which is not a registered company.
Despite the court order being issued against Sinosteel Zimasco, Tundiya, along with associate Wilson Manase and businessman Denny Marandure, allegedly attempted on March 17, 2025, to take control of ZIMASCO’s bank accounts at Ecobank by instructing the bank to change the account signatories to themselves.
According to ZIMASCO’s lawyers, the bank resisted this request, arguing that the court order did not apply to ZIMASCO (Pvt) Ltd.
After being blocked at the bank, Tundiya and his associates reportedly went to ZIMASCO’s head office in Harare, claiming they had taken over the company’s management and presented the court order. However, ZIMASCO’s management blocked their takeover attempt.
Avim Investments, with assistance from Kwande Legal Practitioners, allegedly filed an application to “correct” the court order, to reflect that Sinosteel Zimasco (Pvt) Ltd was operating as ZIMASCO (Pvt) Ltd.
Justice Mambara heard the application and granted the order without serving it to ZIMASCO, which is considered an interested party.
Armed with the “corrected” order, Tundiya and his associates again tried to direct Ecobank to transfer control of ZIMASCO’s accounts.
However, Ecobank refused once more, citing that the corporate rescue applied to Sinosteel Zimasco (Pvt) Ltd, not ZIMASCO.
Besides legally challenging the takeover bid, ZIMASCO has also filed a complaint with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) regarding Justice Mambara’s handling of the matter.

ZIMASCO is in a fight to stop someone from taking over their business illegally. The court gave an order to let someone else take control, but ZIMASCO says it was a mistake. The people trying to take over even went to the bank and tried to change the account details, but the bank said no. Then they tried again with a different court order, but the bank still said no. ZIMASCO is now challenging this takeover and has complained to the court about how things were handled. They just want to keep running their business.

ZIMASCO Seeks Urgent High Court Order To Block Illegal Takeover

A 39-year-old Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) officer, Donald Madzinga, appeared before the Harare Regional Magistrates’ Court on Monday, for allegedly aiding the escape of dangerous armed robbers.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Madzinga is accused of accepting a US$700 bribe to help inmates escape from custody.
Madzinga allegedly used his phone to coordinate the plan and provided a revolver to facilitate the inmates’ escape. Said the NPA:

The inmates escaped from Harare Magistrates’ Court, with one hijacking a vehicle at gunpoint. Witnesses reportedly saw Madzinga handing over the firearm, and he was arrested wearing the jacket of one of the escapees.
Bail has been denied due to the seriousness of the crime, the risk of him fleeing, the potential to interfere with witnesses (some of whom are inmates), and the danger of further offences.

The Magistrates’ Court also raised national security concerns, noting that Madzinga’s wife resides in the UK, which makes him a potential flight risk. Moreover, one escapee and the firearm used in the escape remain at large.

A prison guard named Donald Madzinga in Zimbabwe helped armed robbers to escape from jail for $700. He used his phone to coordinate the plan and gave a gun to the inmates. The robbers escaped from court, and Madzinga was seen giving the gun to them. He was arrested wearing one of the escapee's jackets. Madzinga's bail was denied because the crime was serious, and he might run away or harm witnesses. There are also concerns about national security because his wife lives in the UK, which could make him flee the country. One of the robbers and the gun used in the escape are still missing.

"Prison Guard Received US$700 To Help Armed Robbers Escape"

A 35-year-old man has been arrested by the police in connection with cases of rape and murder that occurred in Makurumidze Village, Gutu, Masvingo, on March 1, 2025.
According to Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, law enforcement acted on received information and conducted a raid at Tongai Chirume homestead at Drawmore Farm in Masvingo on March 18, 2025, resulting in his arrest. Added Nyathi:

Investigations by the police established that the suspect allegedly visited his sister, Mercy Chirume (33), at their late parents’ residence in Makurumidze Village, Gutu, Masvingo.
He allegedly deceived her into believing that a prophet had instructed him to sleep with her to cleanse the family of evil spirits. The suspect then raped the victim twice.
After the offense, the victim threatened to expose the suspect’s actions by reporting him to the police. The suspect then stabbed the victim to death with a knife and went on to strangle the victim’s 4-year-old daughter, Isabel Fadzai Machote, to death after attempting to rape the infant.
He subsequently dumped the infant’s body in an open well.

Chirume is also accused of stealing a cellphone from the scene, which has not yet been recovered. However, police have recovered the kitchen knife believed to have been used in the murder of one of the victims.

A man in Gutu, Zimbabwe, is accused of raping and killing his sister and niece. He tricked his sister into thinking a prophet told him to have sex with her. When she threatened to tell the police, he killed her and her 4-year-old daughter. The man also stole a cellphone from the house. The police found the murder weapon but not the cellphone. The man has been arrested by the police.

Gutu Man Accused Of Rape And Murder Of His Sister And Niece

A 25-year-old woman from Mwenezi District, Masvingo Province, recently appeared in court for allegedly killing her husband.
Daisy Makanaka Moyo, from Headman Mabhena, Chief Negari, is charged with the murder of 40-year-old Talent Golden Masuku, which reportedly occurred on July 10, 2024.
During the court proceedings before Justice Sunsley Zisengwe at the High Court in Masvingo, Prosecutor Mike Tembo said Masuku had returned to his ex-wife, Shingirai Mativenga, after a one-year separation. The couple has three children.
It is alleged that on July 9, 2024, Masuku and Mativenga met at Negari Business Centre in Mwenezi and spent the day together.
They subsequently arranged to stay at the home of a local villager, Obey Matutu, who provided them with a room.
On the morning of July 10, at around 5 AM, both Masuku and Mativenga reportedly woke up to find Moyo standing outside the hut where they were sleeping. Moyo is alleged to have struck Mativenga with a log and attempted to bite her.
In the ensuing altercation, Masuku reportedly intervened and tried to restrain Moyo. Allegations are that Moyo then turned her attention to Masuku, struck him with a log and stabbed him with a kitchen knife, leading to his death.
After the incident, Moyo allegedly attempted to revive Masuku by placing his head on her knees and calling his name. Moyo told the court that the stabbing occurred accidentally.
The incident was reported to law enforcement, and Masuku’s body was taken to Mwenezi District Hospital.
The court was told that Moyo has one child with Masuku, while she insisted that she had three children in total.
Moyo is represented by lawyer Collen Maboke, and the case was postponed to March 27, 2025.

Woman (25) Fatally Stabs Husband (40) After Finding Him With Ex-wife (44)

Donald Madzinga, a Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) officer has been arrested for allegedly providing a gun to an inmate, Luke Zinyengere, who used it to escape from custody on March 21.
Zinyengere, 29, later engaged in a shootout with prison officers at the Harare Magistrates Court before hijacking a Mazda Demio to flee the scene.
Madzinga is set to appear in court on Monday, facing charges of assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody.
Zinyengere had been awaiting sentencing for his involvement in an armed robbery at Quest Financial Services in Harare on February 25, 2024, where over US$700,000 was stolen.
He was among several suspects arrested in connection with the robbery, including two security guards who were sentenced to 48 months in prison for picking up cash dropped by the robbers and failing to report it as evidence.

Prison Guard Arrested For Slipping Gun To Inmate Before Shootout And Carjacking

Police have launched a manhunt for a prison inmate who escaped custody at the Harare Magistrate Court on Friday following a confrontation with prison guards. 
Reports indicate that the incident occurred when Luke Zinyengere (29) and others were being escorted into a Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) van after a court session.
According to Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, Zinyengere allegedly threatened a motorist with a pistol before seizing a Mazda Demio vehicle, which he used to flee the scene. Said Nyathi:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms that investigations are being conducted in connection with the escape from lawful custody and alleged armed robbery incident of a Mazda Demio vehicle at Harare Magistrate Court on 21st March 2025.
The Police is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Luke Zinyengere (29) who used a pistol and robbed a vehicle to escape from the court after engaging in a shootout with prison officers.
The Police assures the public that comprehensive investigations are underway to establish what actually happened in this incident.

It is suspected the firearm may have been brought into the facility by someone at the remand prison.
Zinyengerere’s accomplice, Tafadzwa Marondera, was apprehended at the scene after attempting to escape by jumping over the court’s palisade fence.
Both Zinyengerere and Marondera are facing armed robbery charges.
