Jenfan Muswere is currently serving as the Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services in Zimbabwe. He was appointed to this position on September 11, 2023. Previously, he held the position of Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services. Before his promotion to Minister, he served as the deputy minister in the same ministry. His promotion came about when Kazembe Kazembe was reassigned to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage on November 8, 2019.

Jenfan Muswere, a descendant of Paramount Chief Chingaira Muswere Makoni, was raised in a family with strong ties to ZANU PF. He began his political journey in 1995 as a member of the party's Youth League. Climbing the ladder of success, he assumed roles like Secretary for Indigenization in Harare Province before becoming the Vice Secretary for Finance in Manicaland Province. Jenfan's commitment shone through as a committee member for the Youth League and as the Provincial Secretary for ICT in the Main Wing, now a respected member of the Central Committee.
In 2018, during President Emmerson Mnangagwa's Second Republic, Jenfan Muswere was elected as the Member of Parliament for Makoni West, a role he fulfilled until 2023 and then re-elected for the same constituency from 2023 to 2028. Noteworthy for his involvement in the Great Escape team and his advisory role on the Blue Ocean Strategy within the Politburo, Jenfan's contributions have been pivotal in shaping political strategies.
Appointed by President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa in 2018, Jenfan Muswere served as the Deputy Minister for ICT, Postal, and Courier Services. He was later elevated to the position of Minister of ICT, Postal, and Courier Services from 2019 to 2023.[2]
In 2020, he was elected as the Chairman of the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU). After the 2023 elections, he was appointed as the Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services. [3]
During his time as the Minister of ICT, Postal, and Courier Services, significant milestones were reached under the leadership of President Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa. These achievements include the National Development Strategy 1, emphasizing a functional Digital Economy, the ICT Policy spanning from 2023 to 2028, the Smart Zimbabwe Master Plan covering 2020 to 2030, and the National Broadband Plan for the same period. Notable accomplishments consist of the enactment of the Cyber and Data Protection Act, the National Learning Strategy implementation, the Smart Health-telemedicine initiative, and the establishment of Data Centers and ICT gadget factories within Zimbabwe.
Jenfan Muswere's professional journey also extends into the corporate realm, where he served as a Projects Executive, led as Head of Business Technical and Training, assumed the role of General Manager for Coal at Brick Investments, and held directorial positions across the transport, construction, and ICT sectors. He oversaw extensive infrastructure projects valued at USD$300 million, showcasing his expertise and leadership in various industries.
