Geza Apologises For Role In Mugabe's Ouster, Accuses Mnangagwa Of Failing The People

ZANU PF Central Committee member and war veteran, Blessed Runesu Geza, has apologized for his involvement in the removal of the late former president, Robert Mugabe, in November 2017, which led to the rise of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

In an interview with HSTV, a digital broadcaster owned by Alpha Media Holdings, Geza, who is reportedly facing the possibility of expulsion from the ruling party, claimed that once Mnangagwa assumed power, he escalated corruption, neglected the people, and focused primarily on his family. Said Geza:

We gave you Mnangagwa with the hope that he would lead our country toward recovery, uphold the constitution, and restore hope to the people.

But as soon as he tasted power, he escalated corruption, abandoned the people, and remembered only his family.
We fought for a Zimbabwe where everyone would have a seat at the table, not for a few thieves cloaking themselves in robes of power. It is unacceptable for a small clique to ruin the legacy of the liberation struggle.

I wish to apologize for being one of the people who worked hard to oust the late Robert Mugabe to replace him with Mnangagwa.
With hindsight now I regret that… It is us who gave you Mnangagwa, we put you (sic) in State House with the hope that he would set our country on a path for recovery, respect the constitution, and give the people hope.
As soon as he had the taste of power, he escalated corruption, forgot the people and remembered only his family.

Meanwhile, ZANU PF Mashonaland West Province on Monday recommended Gezi’s expulsion from the party for allegedly undermining and threatening President Mnangagwa.

The decision was made during a meeting held at the North Court in Zvimba East Constituency on February 3rd, attended by thousands of party supporters.

ZANU PF Politburo member and Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi, said that the recommendation was based on Geza’s statements, which were seen as abusing the party’s name.

If it happens again, Zimbabweans go straight to polls instead of replacing a Zanuoid with another Zanulicious. In the revolutionary party at the moment there's no one with presidential qualities. All those who are 50 & below are bootlickers. Instead leaders should groom future leaders but that notion is not even on Zanu constitution

Haa, hapana boss, as long as it remains zanu I dont see any changes everyone has been longing for. Corruption, mismanagement, policy incosistency etc... All these and other issues will keep on tormenting us. If anything, these factional fights actually pose a serious threat to peace and stability.

Geza is a true fighter as opposed to the mercenaries who fought against Rhodesians so that they would be rewarded with a farm and a car.Most of those called war veterans are Zviganandas who are stripping the country of its resources for themselves. A minister of education admitted that BEAM funds which was supposed to assist vulnerable children was looted by government to host a useless SADC event and as a result thousand of children dropped out of school. @😎Cousin went to in 1974 and come back in 1980 and after going to Dzapasi Base CampI located him at Zengeza 4 in Chitungwiza. He so sick he was at the point of deaths and I removed from the camp after a long struggle and it took him to my personal doctor at Makoni Shopping Centre and was treated. He was demobilized and interpreted in the National Army in 1981 and served in the army until 2010 when he was involve in a road traffic accident while on duty.He was discharged from the army on medical ground but died in 2013.Right now he is laying in a nondescript unmarked grave at home.He was not rewarded with a farm,a car or a 12 gun salute.His only son is suffering like its nobody's business.
