Who ever is strategic advisor to ZANU is either a dim wit or the best saboteur alive. SADC advised CCC and Chamisa to exhaust all local legal recourse regarding the August '23 Electoral fraud issue. That together with damning observer missions reports from The Carter Centre (USA), AU, SADC,  EU among others, should have made ZANU circumspect in aggravating the issue. But no, ZANU had to unleash Tshabangu,  its hunting dog on CCC. Taking Tshabangu at face value and acting on his whims, while disregarding the known leader of CCC both the Government and Speaker of Parliament showed a pro-ZANU stance. Subsequent court circuses also played to the ZANU gallery. Not once but now twice have we seen uncalled for by-elections which have tended to strengthen ZANU hand in both Parliament and Local Authorities. ZANU in its myopic way has shown to the whole world that it is behind the weakening of CCC. The current developments whereby Tshabangu recalls CCC cadres, fails to field nominees and fights against genuine CCC nominees,  this giving ZANU a free run a a telling development. Even the ****est observer will find it difficult to believe that Tshabangu is a genuine opposition leader. Furthermore the judiciary has compromised itself irreparably. Any student of Law will tell you that a lower court cannot sit on matters pending in a higher court.  The high court decision giving Tshabangu the right to bar "his fired" MPs is on appeal to the Supreme Court.  For the lower court to ditch and decide on a matter pending in the Supreme Court is unprecedented and a travesty of justice. Its a procedural abortion. All this happening while SADC is still seized with the matter of the disputed August general election. Why oh Why is ZANU rushing into disputed by-elections when the general election dispute is still hanging over their heads? In Shona there is a saying,  "Kangoma kana koririsa, kaakuda kuparuka" ot "Kangoma karirisi ndiko kaparuki." ZANU and Tshabangu vari kurira, or is it vaakuririsa? By unleashing Tshabangu and not reigning in its captured judiciary,  ZANU has shot itself in the foot, and deserves what's coming to it.
