Zimbabweans Express Frustrations Towards Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema And SADC

Zimbabweans expressed their frustrations towards Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema after he provided an update on the outcomes of the SADC Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government.

Hichilema highlighted that the Summit expressed concern at the deterioration of the security and humanitarian situation in the Eastern DRC and the reported resumption of attacks and occupation of territory by the M23, in clear violation of the Cease Fire. The Summit provided strategic guidance on the deployment of the SADC Mission in the DRC (SAMIDRC) to restore peace and security in the country. The Summit commended Member States that have committed additional pledges towards deploying the SADC Mission in the DRC (SAMIDRC).

He also highlighted that the Summit reiterated the need for SADC to spearhead efforts towards mobilisation of resources for facilitating peace and security in the SADC Region. These efforts include reviving discussions to establish and operationalise the SADC Peace Fund and engaging International Cooperating Partners.

However, many Zimbabweans were disappointed that the summit did not address the political deadlock caused by the disputed August 23, 2023 elections. Academic Ibbo Mandaza questioned why Zimbabwe was not discussed after the storm around the SEOM (SADC Electoral Observation Mission). He said:

And on Zimbabwe? Is this evasion after all of that storm around SEOM?

After the SEOM head to the Zimbabwean elections, Dr. Nevers Mumba, highlighted irregularities in the elections, he faced criticism from various groups and individuals in Zimbabwe. Some hoped that Hakainde Hichilema, as the chair of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence, and Security Affairs, would address the issue and possibly influence a rerun or nullification of the elections. The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) even called for fresh polls.

However, the Summit’s communique mentioned that the Summit received an update on the elections in Zimbabwe but did not discuss the matter further. This means that political processes in Zimbabwe, including the upcoming by-elections, can proceed as planned without SADC’s involvement.

Some Zimbabweans criticised SADC, viewing it as a boys’ club that suppresses the continent and its people. They accused SADC of being a useless organisation without principles, values, and direction, as it has ignored the Zimbabwean issue for too long. Others expressed concern that SADC’s solidarity with the Zimbabwean government could lead to more conflicts and violence in the country.

Some Zimbabweans appealed to Hichilema and SADC to intervene and help address the “dictatorship and human rights abuses” in their country. They expressed disappointment and a sense of betrayal, questioning whether Hichilema would follow the same path as other leaders who have disappointed Zimbabweans in the past.

Spot of, that is the comment I made up there. This is a disinformation project, whose aim is to ensure that no meaningful discourse takes place in the social media platforms. They are the same team with those who abduct and torture. Same master.

No my friend ZANUpf is week. If Chamisa destroyed them single handed what if there was a unified force of Tendai Biti, Welshman Ncube and Phulu.. ZANUpf could be in intensive care nemanyoka.. Chamisa didn't release funds to the political players including agents, if those people were handled nice financially before elections CCC was going to cover all areas and better results were going to yield ,but Chamisa is very stingy and stubborn. Haaa ZANUpf is nothing at all, let's talk about something else

Most people are short sighted. Adv Tendai Biti was in Zambia recently to explain the situation within CCC.. Chamisa is the major problem, but we've been blind folded all the time while he was busy firing his lieutenants. Just imagine Tendai Biti ,Welshman Ncube and other heavy weights being thrown to the dusty bin ... HH was informed and they decided to leave the Zimbabwean mess to Zimbabwean people

Did Chamisa mismanagement the shambolic August election? Did Chamisa author the SEOM damaging report? Did Chamisa author the damning EU Observer Mission report? Did Chamisa write the Carter Centre negative report on the August election? What had Chamisa have to do with the shambolic manner in which ZEC ran the elections? - delivering inadequate election material (including no indelible ink, and wrong registers to the wrong polling stations)? What role did Chamisa play in the busing of fake "police recruits" to Mt Pleasant constituency from Honde Valley? What had internal CCC problems have with the running of the August elections? If you have beef with Chamisa, please keep it within proportion.

Off topic young man, I was speaking on how Chamisa handled CCC internal affairs and financial issues.. There were funds sponsored by various sectors to assist CCC in taking part in those elections and that meant paying CCC election agents, but what did Chamisa do, they looked for volunteers instead. I don't support this rat Tshabangu but Chamisa destroyed CCC himself

You seem to have inside information that the rest of us don't have. Can you share the Biti mission to Zambia details with us and the source thereof?
Stubborn Gentile · 1 year ago
Biti arrived in Zambia and was escorted by the Presidential guards to the state house just before SADC extraordinary summit, what for? To expose the real truth and to explain the real CCC situation including the Tshabangu saga. The young man has been arrogant of late and has been withholding the truth even to the CCC voter. Did you know anything about Biti and Welshman until now? So many things are happening and Chamisa has been capturing all million of dollars for himself and close allies. Chamisa knew he wasn't going to State house and pretended while converting party funds to his personal use

IBO MANDAZA IS UANC. MUDZAKUTSAKU. HE AND MUZOREWA TRIED INVAIN TO STOP ZANUPF TO POWER. HE IS AN IMPERIALIST AGENT. YOU WON'T WIN IBO! HH IS NOT SO FOOLISH, LUNGU HAS RESURFACED WITTH MORE VIGO HOW, AND WHY IS A MYSTERY TO HIM. NOW ZAMBIANS WANT LUNGU BACK TO STATE HOUSE A ND THE CROC IS IN GOOD BOOKS WITH EDGAR LUNGU. ITS ED ZIMBABWE AND ED ZAMBIA!!!!!
Zuze · 1 year ago
Correction. Ibbo Mandaza was ZANU. In 1980 he was the first black Secretary in the Ministry of Labour appointed by Mugabe. He was subsequently appointed to head Zimbabwe Institute of Development Studies, under whom several academics were tasked by ZANU to research into development strategies for Zimbabwe. Included in there was Bornwell Chakaodza a well known ZANU functionary who eventually became a high ranking figure in government and ZBC. Ibbo was disillusioned by developments within ZANU and defected to ZUM under Edgar Tekere and then drifted to MKD under former ZANU Minister Simba Makoni. @KG, if you are ignorant of history and current affairs, please zip up your filthy mouth. As to your Zambian analyses, unless you are a clairvoyant, which I doubt, I wonder which Zambians you are talking about who want Lungu back who was responsible for the near-demise of the Zambian economy, which HH has just resuscitated.

The military is right in paying allegiance to the ruling government because they are part and parcel of the system
