I don't want to believe that the mine owner together with the Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Local Government, and maybe EMA, are incapable of producing a map of the mining tunnels under the city, if at all Zimbabwe is an organised state. Alternatively, let the responsible government ministers issue statements reassuring the residents of their safety or condemning the whole town because of some lawlessness beneath our buildings. Or is someone waiting to issue statements assuring us that state assisted funerals will be offered when disaster eventually strikes?

The only saving grace is the family were unhurt. I am glad they had the sense to vacate after realising what the noise threatened. Now will the mine order compensate?
