Form 3 Learner Collapses And Dies During Sporting Event

A Form Three learner at Maranatha High School in Bulawayo reportedly collapsed and died during sports on Thursday.
Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Director of Communications and Advocacy, Taungana Ndoro confirmed the incident to CITE but could not immediately confirm her name. He said:
I confirm the incident happened, they were just having a routine sporting event and she collapsed.
We pass our condolences to the family of the deceased including the school and the community where she grew up.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Bulawayo Province, Inspector Abednico Ncube, said they were investigating the matter.

she wasn't forced friends. her mother is actually a teacher in the school. After finishing a 100m race she fainted and never recovered from that. Maybe an unknown affliction but let's also remember we are called differently. Rest in peace Shantelle

Schools force students to participate in athletics but other sports like soccer,rugby only those who are interested in the sport participate. It's high time schools are forbidden from forcing anyone to participate in any sport

Is there any evidence that she was forced? Maybe she had heath complications which the school did not know, even the child herself. Don't rush to blame. Rest in peace young soul.

I remember while still in school, some of our teachers would force you to take part in sports activities even if you had health challenges saying what's so special about you.
