Maruwa Wants Dynamos To Be More Aggressive
Dynamos coach Herbert Maruwa says he wants his team to be more aggressive when the 2023 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) season starts.
The Glamour Boys played their first pre-friendly match against Sheasham in Gweru on Saturday, winning 1-0.
The former Black Rhinos coach was impressed by what he saw, especially with the team’s ability to play from the back, but was less impressed by his charges’ inability to convert their chances. He said:
We need to improve our movement going upfront, but playing from the back the boys are doing well, now we need to make sure we score the chances that we are creating.
This was a friendly match, players were playing with a bit of caution, but we did well to move the ball ahead, but we lacked aggression.
When the season starts, I expect more aggression and precision. It’s a process, I’m sure by the time we start the season, everyone will be upbeat.
DeMbare hired Maruwa after Tonderai Ndiraya’s contract expired at the end of last year.
Ndiraya has since joined PSL newcomers Simba Bhora. | NewsDay
