Winners Of ZLHR Essay Writing Competition For Secondary Schools Announced
The Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has announced the names of the winners of its essay writing competition for secondary school pupils.
ZLHR launched the competition in partnership with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education last month.
The competition was running under the topic “Ending Child Marriages” and learners submitted their essays to the provincial offices of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education between 23 and 28 September 2022.
In a statement on Friday, 28 October 2022, ZLHR announced the winners of the competition. It said:
We are grateful to the markers of our National Schools Essay Writing Competition seen in this picture with the winners: Natalie Ndlovu of Zwangendaba Secondary School in Lupane, Charity Mashasha of Gwanda High School in Gwanda, Blessed Masunga of Hama High School in Chirumhanzu,Lowrence Moyo of Kutama Day High School, Tanatswa Chafesuka of Chifamba High School & Adelaide Sithole of Segonda College in Goromonzi.
When ZLHR launched the competition, it said the national winner will pocket US$150. At the provincial level, the winner will get US$100, the second-placed winner will get US$50, with the third-placed winner getting US$25.
