Uebert Angel Requests Permission To Conduct Sanctions Awareness Campaigns In Tertiary Institutions
President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s special envoy to Europe and the Americas, Uebert Angel Snr, has written to the ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education seeking permission to conduct seminars on the impact of sanctions on the Zimbabwean economy.
Zimbabwe has been under sanctions since the turn of the millennium when Western powers imposed the restrictive measures after the Southern African country had embarked on the Land Reform programme during which gross human rights violations were recorded.
In his letter to the ministry’s secretary, seen by Pindula News, Angel, also known as Uebert Mudzanire, said the seminars will also focus on entrepreneurship and business leadership. He said in a letter dated 12 May:

The seminars will be focused Entrepreneurship, Business Leadership and Impact of Sanctions on the Zimbabwean Economy. The main speaker will be Ambassador Uebert Snr Angel

He said the seminars will be one-hour sessions.
