Since ED Took Office There Has Been Some Noticeable Change - Chebundo Explains His Reasons For Joining Zanu PF
Former MDC T Official Blessing Chebundo has explained his reasons for defecting to the ruling party Zanu PF and said he did so because President Emmerson Mnangagwa has brought some noticeable change to Zimbabwe, New Zimbabwe reports.
Chebundo was speaking at a meeting attended by the leaders of the ruling party at Kwekwe Zanu PF District Offices when he said he joined the ruling party because he is looking for solutions:
I met with my sister Timveous and we decided to look for solutions and joining Zanu PF was part of the solution.
FeedbackMDC as an opposition party is now 21 years old but we realised we were not going anywhere in the opposition.
When we formed MDC, we were still in the first Republic. For the past 3 years in the second Republic, we asked ourselves with Timveous what the end game will be if we continued with confrontational politics.
For the past 3 years since President Mnangagwa has been in power, there has been noticeable change. We have seen maturity and wisdom in the leadership of the country.
I have moved from MDC to Zanu PF in search for solutions. I want to be part of the solutions not the problem. We discovered that there is need to be part of the solution and not continue as part of the problem.
Chebundo was speaking at the event where 500 people from the MDC reportedly joined ZANU PF a report that has been denied by the MDC Alliance which said ZANU PF is parading fake regalia and cards to support their defection claims.
Chebundo and Lilian Timveos were the first people to join Zanu PF from the opposition before James Makore and Obert Gutu followed them a few weeks later.
