Former Madrid President Comments On Bale's "I'll Return To Madrid" Remarks
Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon this week said Gareth Bale is ‘not happy’ at how his return to Tottenham has worked out that is why he is would return to Real Madrid.
Bale returned to Tottenham on loan after failing to get game time under French manager Zinedine Zidane.
The Wales forward, however, did not get the reception he probably anticipated as Hotspurs boss, Jose Mourinho seems to prefer other players ahead of Bale despite his discovery of form lately.
Bale who has scored six goals in six games between February and March was dropped for Tottenham’s 2-0 win against Aston Villa after Mourinho was reportedly being unimpressed by his work-rate.
In a recent interview with members of the media, Bale indicated that he would return to Madrid when his loan expires. He said:
The original plan was only to do a season at Spurs and then after the Euros I still have a year left at Real Madrid. My plan is obviously to go back and that’s as far as I’ve planned.
I always think when things aren’t going too well at your club it’s nice to get away. Especially mentally, it can definitely be a benefit to get away from the club environment.
The thing we have to do now is focus on these couple games for Wales which are very important for us. We forget club life and concentrate on this.
Commenting on the matter, Ramon Calderon also said this week said Gareth Bale is being pushed by circumstances to return to Madrid. Speaking to talkSPORT Calderon said:
He’s not happy about his time at Tottenham and Mourinho doesn’t seem to be very happy either.
He’s not counting on him in many matches and Bale is disappointed and maybe that’s the reason he would like to return.
Tottenham are paying around £250 000 of Bale’s £600 000-a-week deal at Madrid as part of his loan agreement.
