Govt Pledges Police, Health Workers For MDC-T Congress
Vice President and Health and Child Care Development Minister Constantino Chiwenga on Thursday authorised the MDC-T to hold its extra-ordinary congress (EOC) at the Harare Rainbow Towers Hotel (HLCC) on Sunday 27 December 2020.
In a letter addressed MDC-T Secretary General, Douglas Mwonzora, the Acting Chief Director Curative Services for the Ministry of Health and Child Care, one Dr M. Hove outlined the protocols that the party has to follow during voting.
Hove said there must be temperature screening at the entrance or designated points and every delegate must wear a face mask.
The delegates are also expected to sit 1.5 metres away from each other including in buses and other forms of transport used and the venue of the congress must be disinfected/sanitized before every 100 batches of delegates votes.
Hove further advised the MDC-T that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) will monitor the event for compliance and health workers will monitor compliance including disinfection of the premises.
