Customs & Excise: Diesel Duty Adjusted To Match Petrol
The Minister of Finance and Economci Development, Professor Mthuli Ncube has made amendments to the Customs and Excise (Tariff). Below is the notice.
IT is hereby notified that the Minister of Finance and Economic Development has, in terms of section 225 of the Customs and Excise
Act [Chapter 23:02], made the following notice:—
1. This notice may be cited as the Customs and Excise (Tariff) (Amendment) Notice, 2020 (No. 23).
2. This notice shall be with effect from 5th December 2020.
3. The Customs and Excise (Tariff) Notice, 2017, published in Statutory Instrument 53 of 2017 (hereinafter called “the Tariff Notice”), is amended in Part II of the Second Schedule to the Tariff Notice, by the repeal of the following—FeedbackDescription of Goods: Power kerosene, having a density at 200C (expressed in kilograms per litre of lower than 0.796 and a flash point (closed test at sea level) of not lower than 210C and not higher than 440C.

Rate of Duty: US$0.25/L
Description of Goods: Other power kerosene

Rate of Duty: US$0.25/L
Description of Goods: Other Illuminating or heating kerosene, other than that of tariff 2710.19.19
Quantity: 1. Kg; 2. m3; 3. L
Rate of Duty: US$0.25/LDescription of Goods: Diesel
Quantity: 1. Kg; 2. m3; 3. L
Rate of Duty: US$0.25/LThe new Rates of Duty for all the goods mentioned above is now US$0.30/L
The excise duty rates stated in United States dollars shall be adjusted to prevailing weekly foreign currency exchange rates for purposes of conversion to local currency.
