Corona Forces Cabinet To Meet On A Virtual Platform
The Cabinet will from next week conduct its meetings on a virtual platform, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda has announced.
In a statement on Friday, Sibanda said details relating to the actual modalities for the meeting will be provided. The statement read:
The Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda advises that the next Cabinet meeting had been rescheduled to 0900 hours on Tuesday, 18th August 2020 on a virtual platform.
FeedbackDetails relating to the actual modalities for the meeting will be provided in the usual manner.
Members should be therefore plan accordingly.
The development comes after reports have indicated that several Cabinet Ministers are in self-isolation after coming into close contact with people with coronavirus.
On Wednesday, Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa, Mines and Mining Development minister Winston Chitando and Home Affairs minister Kazembe Kazembe reportedly skipped the weekly cabinet meeting as a precaution.
