Govt To Reconstruct Plumtree High School
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has ordered two Cabinet Ministers to assess the damage at Plumtree High School after the dining hall was gutted by fire on Thursday afternoon.
Minister of Local Government and Public Works July Moyo and the Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Cde Mangaliso Ndlovu were assigned to assess the damage so that reconstruction work can start as soon as possible. Minister Moyo said:
When the fire broke out I was at State House. The President and Vice Presidents were informed and I was then asked to visit the school together with Minister Ndlovu to assess the damage.
FeedbackMoyo said a high-level team from his ministry will soon visit the school to assess the damage as well as ascertain the cost of reconstructing the hall.
The fire broke out at around 2 PM at the Beit Hall when the structure was locked and this has ruled out foul play.
Plumtree High School is being used as a coronavirus quarantine centre for Zimbabweans returning home from Botswana.
