2 MDC Alliance Marondera Councillors Arrested For Breaking Into Their Party Headquarters And Stealing Furniture And Hiding It
2 MDC Marondera councillors were reportedly arrested after they broke into their party headquarters and stole some furniture before hiding it at an unknown location, The Standard reports.
The 2, Charles Ngwena from ward 4 and Saizi Vilela of ward 11 were reportedly arrested after a complaint Wellington Makonese, the acting provincial administrator of the Khupe led MDC faction reported them to the police.
The councillors reportedly broke into the party headquarters, removed 47 chairs, two computers and a printer, among other things and replaced the door locks so that Makonese could not access the office.
The arrests were confirmed MDC Alliance provincial spokesperson and Marondera mayor Chengetai Murowa who said this to the publication:
We will be notified on the day to appear in court, they will call us
