The World Bank US$7 Million Grant For Zim Should Come With Strict Transparency & Accountability Measures - The US

The United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee has issued a warning to the Zimbabwean government and said the grant extended to Zimbabwe by the World Bank must come with strict transparency and accountability measures to make sure Zimbabweans benefit from the grant.

This was said in a tweet by the committee which reads:

The $7M @WorldBank grant for #Zimbabwe reported today should come with strict transparency & accountability measures to ensure Zimbabweans receive services & support during #COVID19, and that these funds aren’t lost to ongoing mismanagement by the Zimbabwean govt.

The committee’s tweet came after the World Bank announced that it was giving Zimbabwe a $7 million grant to fight Coronavirus
