Wadyajena Changes Strategy As Fight Against Corruption Accused Musarara Thickens
The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Lands, Agriculture, Climate and Rural Resettlement led by Gokwe Nembudziya MP, Justice Mayor Wadyajena has adopted a new approach in a bid to deal with the corruption accused Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ).
The committee is said to have invited millers who are members of GMAZ in their individual capacity after GMAZ led by Tafadzwa Musarara snubbed the first hearing opting to appear before Tendai Biti-led PAC.
Wadyajena accuses the association of misusing US$27 million the government disbursed for wheat importation. On the other hand, GMAZ says that it was never given the money adding that it actually landed its money to the government.
Zim Morning reports that Wadyajena’s committee has invited Blue Ribbon and Manyame Millers and intends to continue calling individual millers until they reach to their target, Musarara.
A fortnight ago, ZANU PF Youth League accused Musarara of being among the cartels who were engaging in underhand dealings which were choking efforts to revive the economy.
