"If Elections Fail We'll Use Any Other Means Necessary,” - ZANU PF
The ruling ZANU PF has said that it will use all means necessary and unnecessary to stay in power. These remarks were said by party Political Commissar Victor Matemadanda who is also the Deputy Minister of Defence. He said:
We will use any means necessary to defend the revolution.
If elections fail we will use any other means necessary.
FeedbackMatemadanda’s remarks come when the opposition MDC led by Nelson Chamisa and the governing party have a standoff with the former accusing the latter of rigging 2018 elections.
The sentiments also risk bringing to remembrance the horror memories of 2008 of violence allegedly by ZANU PF which was accused of beating, displacing and killing members of the opposition party just before the runoff elections.
